    Ariel gives really interesting, stream-of-thought comments. Be great to see him do more of these. Perhaps we need an Ultimate 4 Way Showdown? Ariel Vs Lee Vs Chappers Vs Pete with Rabea refereeing?!

      Had never payed much attention to Ariel but I'm just noticing how not only he's a legend of a player, his comments are very insightful and interesting. Pete's are more superficial and he seems more worried about making jokes and being funny, which is fine, but I'd like to see more of Ariel for sure after this.

    A couple of observations:
    1. Pete and Ariel are amazingly talented - yes please, more of those two in this or similar format.
    2. IMO good reminder of how the ear wants to like the louder sound source. The Custom 59 Fender was quieter, which could just be low output pickups set up low in height. I bet if you raised the height so that it was louder but still not compressing like the hotter pickups then they would have liked it a lot more.
    3. Would be interesting to see a blind test where they have to play 4 or 5 guitars unplugged and list preferences and then compare to when plugged in.

    • @Runoratsu
      @Runoratsu 5 років тому +20

      Should not only be included for the money, but because any guitar above a certain price point really _needs_ protecting, and a gigbag just doesn't cut it anymore then.

    • @Dropaprayer
      @Dropaprayer 5 років тому +4

      A lot of companies are doing ultra-high end gig bags for both ease of carrying around as well as protection - you can get 20-25mm of foam,which actually protects the guitar better than a hard case in most cases. Hard cases are good for storage because they stack,but a great soft case/high quality gig bag is a great alternative (and probably more expensive than a lot of hard cases).

      @@thewhiffinshow8898 I guarantee they sell a hell of a lot more Squiers than Fenders already, and there will always be collectors and people who buy guitars based on what's written on the head stock anyway. And realistically, how many people do you think are in the market for a custom shop Fender and also plan on buying it at Andertons, but then watch this video and decide on a Squier instead based on what they said in the video? I mean think about it.

    The Hansen really has that vintage Tele sound, while the G&Ls are much more modern, I supposed because of the MFD pickups.

      Yeah they're relatively hot at full volume but you can bring them back to a more classic sound either by lowering the volume or for a more permanent solution by lowering the pickups!

      I wonder why they didn't use a G&L with a lipstick pickup? Maybe they didn't have one in stock.

      @@leegilbert5804 correctional edit: They do lipsticks but its an option order build.

      @@ewetoo I'm not trying to be difficult, but if you go to their website, G&L, and go to the "Option Order Guitars" they show an ASAT with Classic Alnico pickups. I'm just a beginner. I call that a lipstick. I thought that might compare more with the Fenders.

    Good video, think it needed a little more structure though I.e marks out of 10 and guess the price after each guitar

    Is it weird that I think Pete plays better blindfolded than without it? Guess he's just that good haha

    Always find a way to subtly include their personal guitar into the mix. That really makes it more interesting.
