I am from Germany and I have close relatives in the industry that builds and sells manufacturing machines AND the factories in which those manufacturing machines are made in to all countries in the world. All the same, since everything is normalised and standardized through and through. If I buy an imported Chinese product here in Germany, chances are 85% that the machines that manufactured the product either came from here, or were build in a factory that came from here. This goes for steel and wood manufacturing machines a like, I do not know about plastics.

Great idea for a video, and quite enlightening. I have American, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and Indonesian guitars here, every price point imaginable. EVERY country is capable of producing a quality guitar - it comes down to specs and tolerances.
I have Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Mexican and American and they surprisingly all get along...but I do keep them segregated in their respective hard shell cases....

I too have gotten over that. I recently picked up a Chinese made Dean ml. I can't believe how well a $550 guitar can play now, my last purchase was a Gibson explorer about 10 years ago and it was like $1400 if I remember correctly and the dean is every bit as nice playing as the Gibson. The only think the Gibson wins on hands down is the finish, while the dean looks great the Gibson looks great to a point where it even looks expensive lol.

Best tip is to start out just using a couple of well known amps, use them like amps and try not to get too micro into the workings of the whole Profiler. Oh and don't rush to the high gain amps. Some of those clean amps profiles are bloody good. Roland JC-120 is spot on, as is a good profile of the Fender Deluxe Reverb amp...
Ozzy Pete Thanks man! I’m absolutely loving it right now, I spent absolutely all day yesterday on it, it truly is an amazing piece of gear. The things it can do and it’s fidelity are stunning. Yeah, I was a bit overwhelmed when I started to dig a bit into the settings, but just focusing on it like an amp and using the front EQ like you would normally do and I’m loving it. There are some powerful settings “hidden” though. Like definition, the amp Compressor, pick parameter, etc. Watch the videos by Tone Junkie if you want to take it to the next level, believe me. Don’t worry, I’m not much into high gain. I’m into slow, bluesy stuff. Right now my favorite profile is Tone Junkies’ JM Proto 1, which is a profile of a prototype Two Rock John Mayer signature made for and used by the man himself with his signature settings. The amp is currently at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville. I actually visited the store about 6 weeks ago (Was in Nashville for a John Mayer concert actually) and missed the amp😐😔. I don’t regret the purchase at all, it’s hard to justify getting a similarly priced tube amp when you can get all of this with the Kemper.
@@marcobeltran7218 That is great to hear you having a good time with Kemper....To some I bet it is overwhelming at first. "Under the hood" is a capacity to re-amp if you do recording, attach a genuine effects loop on profiles of old amps that never had them, stereo amp effect etc. I'd also suggest Kemper Tutorials here on You Tube, they go through step by step on some features that aren't apparent at first.

The point of the channel is for Andertons to sell gear - it’s not paid entertainment. Therefore it’s not surprising they would give their own product a “nudge”.
Whether or not he knew it was the Chapman , it’s no surprise that his favourite was the one that he designed. If it weren’t his favourite, then that would mean he’d done a bad job of designing it.

Chappers has, on several occasions, INSTANTLY noticed that he was holding a Chapman while blindfolded. This time, he didn't say the name of the guitar but kept gloating about how good it was over and over. Just lol
He absolutely knew it was a Chapman even blindfolded, because he probably plays them every day. So the challenge wasn't rigged, but he def went out of his way to compliment his brand...
I think this was genuine. The problem is that he’s probably basing his assessments on how well the guitar matches his preferences - not build quality. He designed the guitar so of course it checks all his boxes of feel. Some people love super rolled edges and others like them a little more square, he likes them however he likes them and that’s what the Chapman was rounded to.
Don’t forget Lee is tied into Chapman as well so I’m sure the Chapman got a bit of “attention” before being “randomly selected” You can’t blame them though who wouldn’t do the same thing
Bad enough when he pretended he didn't recognize his own guitar and sang it's praises, but then upgrading it to USA when the USA guitar came along is taking the piss.
I usually love these vids, but this just felt like a 30min commercial for Chapman guitars. I mean, fair play as it's your company and all but it took some of the fun out of it for me.
ain't gonna hate on some self promotion but Rob totally knew that was a Chapman within the first 10 seconds of holding it. Not cheating, he just knew because he's that aware of his line of guitars.
Fektthis he’s crafty and manipulative. These videos have a purpose not as off the cuff as they look. They are always trying to promote something specific in a fun and humorous way which is great. I like their videos

IDK, I played a few Chapman's at GC the other day and they did not impress me. The fit and finish was well under what I expected. Could have been a few bad apples, however the import PRS SE's blew them out of the water.
Chapman guitars feel cheap. And because of the neck profile and tbe carved top, apart from other subtle details, you cam recognize a Chapman guitar on a blondfold challenge easily.
I've never played a Chapman but I do know there's more than one line of them. I think if you include the original run, there are at least three and perhaps four different lines. Each of those lines is quite different in terms of price and, no doubt, quality.
James Santiago I thought the same thing. The carve top on the Chapman would give it away. So many imports (including PRS) are made by the same factories.
Marc Coté I believe I played the newest higher end line. They were both close to or over 1k. Just wasn’t impressed. The neck joint had masking tape lines on it and had some other bits that should have been better. But that’s the great part about it, anyone can buy and play whatever they prefer and can afford. No one forced me to buy it.
@@recub13 - It's possible. They seem to go up to about $1400 US, but most are around $1000. One thing is certain, there is no lack of choice for good guitars these days. When I was starting out if you wanted something good it was Fender or Gibson. Unless you wanted a hollow body or some weirdo guitar. Today... Ibanez, PRS, Suhr, ESP... and so on.
That cheeky index finger feel of the headstock on the chapman..... Kinda made the compliments feel a bit hollow but who cares, I've got an ML3 and love it! Just a tad shady if you ask me
Heel joint on the Chapman gave it away- first thing he touched when he grabbed it. Also touching the nut he could feel the headstock cut towards the end. Admittedly though I've got guitars from most of these places and they're all comparable. I can't tell the difference without a blindfold.......
The Chapman guitar is the only one with body contours on the back of the guitar body. The rest has typical telecaster slab style bodies. I didn't notice it until he had the blindfold off and went through them all again but you could clearly see the difference in body shape on the back, and given his knowledge of the market he immediately recognized his own brand.
And when he was handed it, it's the only one he gripped by the edge... I'm not usually skeptical, but that was an immediate give away with it being the only carved top.
jogr the neck joint on chapmans is pretty unique in its design, and if you look that's the first place his hand went when he was handed the guitar. He for sure knew. And just a little extra, I've owned a chapman and it was one of the worst guitars I've played in my life
@@jacobflint9359 I had two and I had loads of QC issues with the first one, which being fair could be from the way it was stored in shipping or a legitimate piece of shit, but the second one after sending it back just wasn't a great guitar to me. Everything about it was just "meh." Kinda shitty pickups, kinda shitty feel, nice neck, but felt fairly cheap, like one of those older made in India Jackson JS series or the early 2000s Squier affinities. Best analogy would be like an Ibanez gio series, but one of the better ones.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen most of these videos, and every time he plays a Chapman, he identifies it almost right away. I found it “interesting“ that he didn’t identify it this time and then he went on to great lengths about how great the guitar was. But that’s just me being a troll and I’m sorry. I just found it curious.
at the end of the day, they need to sell guitars and gear, so i could easily cut them all kinds of slack in terms of endorsement and shady subtle undercover marketing as long as vids are so much fun

To everyone parroting each other in the comments saying Rob clearly knew the first one was a Chapman: You lot haven't thought your reasons through very well. Firstly, there's a huge number of people saying that because it was the only reverse headstock/belly cut/carved top/satin neck T type here, he would have known it was his. This line of reasoning is making the huge assumption that Rob knows what all the guitars he will be playing are in advance, which I very much doubt. He would have to know which guitars were in the challenge, in order to know the Chapman was the only one with those features (although I'm not sure it was the only satin neck there). A bunch of genuine Fender custom shop guitars have a reverse headstock, A 2016 Fender Select Series Tele has a carved maple body and satin finished neck, And a 2015 Fender American Standard Tele has a belly cut (actually a lot of modern Tele's do). Notice those are all genuine Fender Telecasters, and doesn't even mention the huge number of non-Fender T-types that have all of those features. So saying "It was the only one with a (insert feature here), so he had to know it was his" is just plain silly. Unless that Chapman is the only T-Type in the world with those features, that line of reasoning is massively flawed. And secondly, if the entire point of this video was to boost sales and thus profits for Rob and Lee (remember Lee's a major shareholder, if not partner in that business), then why would Rob big up the Chapman so much that it would make a lot of people skeptical of the validity of the challenge? And why the fuck would he take such a steaming dump on the East Coast guitar? Since East Coast is Anderton's' own brand, which they have gone to great lengths to establish as being very high quality budget gear in videos dedicated to them, they'd have to be brain dead to act like it's the worst guitar there. If it was staged, they'd be smart enough and experienced enough to know how to subtly make both of their brands look great for the price, while keeping it low key enough that everyone would think it's legit.
Chappers knew he was holding one of his guitars. Please. He feels the body contours, checks for the reverse headstock, and that's all it takes. You can see him do it in all of these blindfold videos.
Just pointing out that on my very affordable Purple Squire (we all know where I bought that one), the nut is extremly flush to the neck. So well done Fender and Andertons. :-)
This video has reminded me that Telecaster is the real shape of rock and roll. I've been thinking about buying a new guitar and I was looking at Strat-styles but in the end I have to be true to the spirit of Saint Joe Strummer

it was the only one with reverse head stock he felt the difference at the nut when feeling the nut right away cause he went a little past with his pointer finger if you watch. he could tell it was his! for sure i would've been able to tell right away by the bottom of the nut that it was a reverse head stock guitar and he new his was gonna be the only one with a reverse head stock on a t style model!

I want to help shine some light onto why Rob always loves these Chapman guitars in these videos. You all need to remember that Rob has worked to make these guitars sound and feel as good as possible to HIM. Everybody has slightly different tastes when it comes to gear, and the Chapman guitar is Robs taste. I personally am not big into the Dumble sound. I'm a big Stevie Ray fan, as well as other guitarist that have used those amps. I used to have a Fuchs ODS amp at one point. I was a great sounding amp, very well made, but it wasn't MY sound. Obviously many people love/want that sound, I just have different tastes.
(sorry, very old comment, but I just happened to watch that video now). I mean sure, he designed them so that he likes them, but they're not at say top of the line Fender quality because they're not in that price range. The necks won't feel as premium (no nicely rolled edges, for example). They don't feel like $2000+ guitars, which is understandable. He knows it, but sells them as if they were. Fair game, but still.

That upside down headstock was a give away, he knew that was his guitar. His finger went down the curve two or three times. How often did he say that was the best. I would be surprised if I play another as good as that one. BS
I don't doubt Rob loves the Chapman tele's, it's his design after all. For me, I don't want a tele that is good for hard rock, I prefer teles that are more traditional. Plus, I've seen so many videos about issues with the quality of chapman guitars I don't feel comfortable ordering one online.
The Chinese made guitars can be very good. I was shocked when I had a look at a Takemine guitar, played it a while, decided to buy and the shop owner said it was made in China. I bought it and it is a lovely instrument.
He definitely knew that the first one was a ML3. I don't think there is another Tele from a bigger company with this neck heel, carved top and no scratch plate.
I bought some used guitars and at least one or them might be old enough to tell the difference. While origin may not be as important today, it does apply to older guitars, perhaps influencing resale value later ?
When I started playing in the early 90's there were HUGE differences in where they were made but now the cheaper ones made overseas are some really great guitars.
@@ronniefnd The 2005 Squier I bought has better parts on it than the 2016 Squier. For example the tuners on the 2005 are laser etched "F" Fenders, the 2016 has some unbranded tuner. The instrument cord clam shell is also a heavier gauge metal and chrome piece of hardware than the 2016. Also the saddles are similar to Fender stamped style instead of the standard issue that Squier is putting on Indonesian Corteks. I prefer the neck finish as well. The 2005 is a black label Bullet Strat SSS HT & the 2016 is an Affinity Strat w/ Trem bridge. I think the 2016 actually plays better than the 2005, but I'm inclined to believe that's a matter of one being used for 11 more years in whatever frequency. The older has changed hands or moved several more times in that 11 years. The 2005 was used, the 2016 was a dealer that moves Squier QC cosmetic 2nds ? He buys a lot of them and sells them thru various marketplaces, be it Craigslist or Facebook. Cosmetically, it had a single scratch. Anyway, the problem I'm having with the 2005, the screw holes are finally loosening up, that's the issue with any of them, over time and the wood just doesn't hold a screw for a cheap one. My options are to let it go softly into the night, the toothpick trick or screw/bolt inserts as 2 that could breathe more life into the 2005. I paid $ 25 for the 2005, it's really become my Luthier's skill set learner, sometimes out of necessity for needing that old guitar repair that only age does to a guitar, other times just routine string maintenance.
They do it hoping one of these days they can throw Rob off. But there's a fair and legit reason why Rob always loves his own guitar, and it has nothing to do with trying to plug it. They are made to HIS specifications. When ever something is custom made for you, you are going to like it. It would be one thing if he always crapped on other brands, but he hasn't, and has actually plugged the hell out of other brands.

Hansen are just a few kms from me. I can assure you he makes more than three a week! Very nice guy who restored my aging Mutsomuko Aria Pro 2, leaving me with a guitar that was better than it was when it was new. No-nonsense honest approach from a nice small company.
Chappers touched the tuners on the Chapman Guitar and recognised the reverse headstock. Halfway through he thought. Allo allo I’ll name mine as a USA made guitar. Great Marketing ploy.
How many times have we said that Chapman Guitars should be exempt from these comparison videos as its clearly biased towards them.. If they want to make stand alone videos advertising Chapman guitars then feel free but stop including them in these videos.
Guys, I think you need to take some of the criticism on board with this one. Rob has been able to consistently tell the Chapman guitars in every other blindfold video in a matter of seconds. Not surprising, as he designed them which is absolutely fair enough. Do you really expect us to believe that he totally missed this one, didn't think an ML3 might be included, and didn't spot it despite the arch top. belly cut, and tapered heel joint? Then, he goes on to constantly praise it and say he thought it was a Fender Custom Shop? Come on, that is ridiculous. I have been watching your channel for years, and this is the first time I think you have been genuinely deceptive and dishonest. If anything, it puts me off the Chapman brand. Please don't just dismiss this criticism as being a "hater", that is an easy cop out to dodge your shortcomings in the video. You are a lot better than this, and you know it.
clunky and sharp were very successful indeed in the mid to late 80s ,until clunkys death in early 89 ,after he was found dead in a new york back alley having choked to death on his own cardboard. the funeral was attended by dozens of adoring fans ,and the epitaph was read by sir elton john. sharp went on to write music for popular tv shows such as countdown and john cravens newsround !!!.
This was an amazing video and everyone who's been following Rob for a while and knows his legitimacy and ethos as a person, should know this is 100% authentic. No chance this was set up and totally unnecessary he had to swear on his kids just to convince a bunch of internet trolls. I have Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Mexican and American and they surprisingly all get along...but I do keep them segregated in their respective hard shell cases....

I too have gotten over that. I recently picked up a Chinese made Dean ml. I can't believe how well a $550 guitar can play now, my last purchase was a Gibson explorer about 10 years ago and it was like $1400 if I remember correctly and the dean is every bit as nice playing as the Gibson. The only think the Gibson wins on hands down is the finish, while the dean looks great the Gibson looks great to a point where it even looks expensive lol.

Best tip is to start out just using a couple of well known amps, use them like amps and try not to get too micro into the workings of the whole Profiler. Oh and don't rush to the high gain amps. Some of those clean amps profiles are bloody good. Roland JC-120 is spot on, as is a good profile of the Fender Deluxe Reverb amp...

I’m absolutely loving it right now, I spent absolutely all day yesterday on it, it truly is an amazing piece of gear. The things it can do and it’s fidelity are stunning.
Yeah, I was a bit overwhelmed when I started to dig a bit into the settings, but just focusing on it like an amp and using the front EQ like you would normally do and I’m loving it.
There are some powerful settings “hidden” though. Like definition, the amp Compressor, pick parameter, etc. Watch the videos by Tone Junkie if you want to take it to the next level, believe me.
Don’t worry, I’m not much into high gain. I’m into slow, bluesy stuff. Right now my favorite profile is Tone Junkies’ JM Proto 1, which is a profile of a prototype Two Rock John Mayer signature made for and used by the man himself with his signature settings. The amp is currently at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville. I actually visited the store about 6 weeks ago (Was in Nashville for a John Mayer concert actually) and missed the amp😐😔.
I don’t regret the purchase at all, it’s hard to justify getting a similarly priced tube amp when you can get all of this with the Kemper.
@@marcobeltran7218 That is great to hear you having a good time with Kemper....To some I bet it is overwhelming at first. "Under the hood" is a capacity to re-amp if you do recording, attach a genuine effects loop on profiles of old amps that never had them, stereo amp effect etc. I'd also suggest Kemper Tutorials here on You Tube, they go through step by step on some features that aren't apparent at first.

Chappers has, on several occasions, INSTANTLY noticed that he was holding a Chapman while blindfolded. This time, he didn't say the name of the guitar but kept gloating about how good it was over and over. Just lol
He absolutely knew it was a Chapman even blindfolded, because he probably plays them every day. So the challenge wasn't rigged, but he def went out of his way to compliment his brand...
I think this was genuine. The problem is that he’s probably basing his assessments on how well the guitar matches his preferences - not build quality. He designed the guitar so of course it checks all his boxes of feel. Some people love super rolled edges and others like them a little more square, he likes them however he likes them and that’s what the Chapman was rounded to.
Don’t forget Lee is tied into Chapman as well so I’m sure the Chapman got a bit of “attention” before being “randomly selected”

IDK, I played a few Chapman's at GC the other day and they did not impress me. The fit and finish was well under what I expected. Could have been a few bad apples, however the import PRS SE's blew them out of the water.
Chapman guitars feel cheap. And because of the neck profile and tbe carved top, apart from other subtle details, you cam recognize a Chapman guitar on a blondfold challenge easily.
I've never played a Chapman but I do know there's more than one line of them. I think if you include the original run, there are at least three and perhaps four different lines. Each of those lines is quite different in terms of price and, no doubt, quality.
James Santiago I thought the same thing. The carve top on the Chapman would give it away. So many imports (including PRS) are made by the same factories.
Marc Coté I believe I played the newest higher end line. They were both close to or over 1k. Just wasn’t impressed. The neck joint had masking tape lines on it and had some other bits that should have been better. But that’s the great part about it, anyone can buy and play whatever they prefer and can afford. No one forced me to buy it.
@@recub13 - It's possible. They seem to go up to about $1400 US, but most are around $1000. One thing is certain, there is no lack of choice for good guitars these days. When I was starting out if you wanted something good it was Fender or Gibson. Unless you wanted a hollow body or some weirdo guitar. Today... Ibanez, PRS, Suhr, ESP... and so on.

Heel joint on the Chapman gave it away- first thing he touched when he grabbed it. Also touching the nut he could feel the headstock cut towards the end.
Admittedly though I've got guitars from most of these places and they're all comparable. I can't tell the difference without a blindfold.......

The Chapman guitar is the only one with body contours on the back of the guitar body. The rest has typical telecaster slab style bodies. I didn't notice it until he had the blindfold off and went through them all again but you could clearly see the difference in body shape on the back, and given his knowledge of the market he immediately recognized his own brand.

@@jacobflint9359 I had two and I had loads of QC issues with the first one, which being fair could be from the way it was stored in shipping or a legitimate piece of shit, but the second one after sending it back just wasn't a great guitar to me. Everything about it was just "meh." Kinda shitty pickups, kinda shitty feel, nice neck, but felt fairly cheap, like one of those older made in India Jackson JS series or the early 2000s Squier affinities. Best analogy would be like an Ibanez gio series, but one of the better ones.
I don't care what they are playing or testing, I always like the blindfold videos!
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen most of these videos, and every time he plays a Chapman, he identifies it almost right away. I found it “interesting“ that he didn’t identify it this time and then he went on to great lengths about how great the guitar was. But that’s just me being a troll and I’m sorry. I just found it curious.

To everyone parroting each other in the comments saying Rob clearly knew the first one was a Chapman: You lot haven't thought your reasons through very well. Firstly, there's a huge number of people saying that because it was the only reverse headstock/belly cut/carved top/satin neck T type here, he would have known it was his. This line of reasoning is making the huge assumption that Rob knows what all the guitars he will be playing are in advance, which I very much doubt. He would have to know which guitars were in the challenge, in order to know the Chapman was the only one with those features (although I'm not sure it was the only satin neck there). A bunch of genuine Fender custom shop guitars have a reverse headstock, A 2016 Fender Select Series Tele has a carved maple body and satin finished neck, And a 2015 Fender American Standard Tele has a belly cut (actually a lot of modern Tele's do). Notice those are all genuine Fender Telecasters, and doesn't even mention the huge number of non-Fender T-types that have all of those features. So saying "It was the only one with a (insert feature here), so he had to know it was his" is just plain silly. Unless that Chapman is the only T-Type in the world with those features, that line of reasoning is massively flawed.
And secondly, if the entire point of this video was to boost sales and thus profits for Rob and Lee (remember Lee's a major shareholder, if not partner in that business), then why would Rob big up the Chapman so much that it would make a lot of people skeptical of the validity of the challenge? And why the fuck would he take such a steaming dump on the East Coast guitar? Since East Coast is Anderton's' own brand, which they have gone to great lengths to establish as being very high quality budget gear in videos dedicated to them, they'd have to be brain dead to act like it's the worst guitar there.
If it was staged, they'd be smart enough and experienced enough to know how to subtly make both of their brands look great for the price, while keeping it low key enough that everyone would think it's legit.
Chappers knew he was holding one of his guitars. Please. He feels the body contours, checks for the reverse headstock, and that's all it takes. You can see him do it in all of these blindfold videos.

Just pointing out that on my very affordable Purple Squire (we all know where I bought that one), the nut is extremly flush to the neck. So well done Fender and Andertons. :-)

Yeah he definitely knew which one was the Chapman. In fact, I think trying to hide it looks worse because it's his own brand so he SHOULD be able to pick it out, especially with it being the only one without a pickguard, with a carved top, etc.
it was the only one with reverse head stock he felt the difference at the nut when feeling the nut right away cause he went a little past with his pointer finger if you watch. he could tell it was his! for sure i would've been able to tell right away by the bottom of the nut that it was a reverse head stock guitar and he new his was gonna be the only one with a reverse head stock on a t style model!

I want to help shine some light onto why Rob always loves these Chapman guitars in these videos. You all need to remember that Rob has worked to make these guitars sound and feel as good as possible to HIM. Everybody has slightly different tastes when it comes to gear, and the Chapman guitar is Robs taste. I personally am not big into the Dumble sound. I'm a big Stevie Ray fan, as well as other guitarist that have used those amps. I used to have a Fuchs ODS amp at one point. I was a great sounding amp, very well made, but it wasn't MY sound. Obviously many people love/want that sound, I just have different tastes.
(sorry, very old comment, but I just happened to watch that video now). I mean sure, he designed them so that he likes them, but they're not at say top of the line Fender quality because they're not in that price range. The necks won't feel as premium (no nicely rolled edges, for example). They don't feel like $2000+ guitars, which is understandable. He knows it, but sells them as if they were. Fair game, but still.

That upside down headstock was a give away, he knew that was his guitar. His finger went down the curve two or three times. How often did he say that was the best. I would be surprised if I play another as good as that one. BS
The cutaway under the neck on the chapman is a dead giveaway. 4:45 he immediatley feels it.
I don't doubt Rob loves the Chapman tele's, it's his design after all. For me, I don't want a tele that is good for hard rock, I prefer teles that are more traditional. Plus, I've seen so many videos about issues with the quality of chapman guitars I don't feel comfortable ordering one online.
The thing is, traditional Teles are amazing for hard rock.

The Chinese made guitars can be very good. I was shocked when I had a look at a Takemine guitar, played it a while, decided to buy and the shop owner said it was made in China. I bought it and it is a lovely instrument.

I bought some used guitars and at least one or them might be old enough to tell the difference. While origin may not be as important today, it does apply to older guitars, perhaps influencing resale value later ?
When I started playing in the early 90's there were HUGE differences in where they were made but now the cheaper ones made overseas are some really great guitars.
@@ronniefnd The 2005 Squier I bought has better parts on it than the 2016 Squier. For example the tuners on the 2005 are laser etched "F" Fenders, the 2016 has some unbranded tuner. The instrument cord clam shell is also a heavier gauge metal and chrome piece of hardware than the 2016. Also the saddles are similar to Fender stamped style instead of the standard issue that Squier is putting on Indonesian Corteks. I prefer the neck finish as well. The 2005 is a black label Bullet Strat SSS HT & the 2016 is an Affinity Strat w/ Trem bridge. I think the 2016 actually plays better than the 2005, but I'm inclined to believe that's a matter of one being used for 11 more years in whatever frequency. The older has changed hands or moved several more times in that 11 years. The 2005 was used, the 2016 was a dealer that moves Squier QC cosmetic 2nds ? He buys a lot of them and sells them thru various marketplaces, be it Craigslist or Facebook. Cosmetically, it had a single scratch. Anyway, the problem I'm having with the 2005, the screw holes are finally loosening up, that's the issue with any of them, over time and the wood just doesn't hold a screw for a cheap one. My options are to let it go softly into the night, the toothpick trick or screw/bolt inserts as 2 that could breathe more life into the 2005. I paid $ 25 for the 2005, it's really become my Luthier's skill set learner, sometimes out of necessity for needing that old guitar repair that only age does to a guitar, other times just routine string maintenance.

American Fenders don't file the nut down to the edges. Their bone nuts go over on both sides, but are made smooth. Feels nice.

But there's a fair and legit reason why Rob always loves his own guitar, and it has nothing to do with trying to plug it. They are made to HIS specifications. When ever something is custom made for you, you are going to like it.

Not surprising, as he designed them which is absolutely fair enough. Do you really expect us to believe that he totally missed this one, didn't think an ML3 might be included, and didn't spot it despite the arch top. belly cut, and tapered heel joint? Then, he goes on to constantly praise it and say he thought it was a Fender Custom Shop? Come on, that is ridiculous. I have been watching your channel for years, and this is the first time I think you have been genuinely deceptive and dishonest. If anything, it puts me off the Chapman brand. Please don't just dismiss this criticism as being a "hater", that is an easy cop out to dodge your shortcomings in the video. You are a lot better than this, and you know it.

clunky and sharp were very successful indeed in the mid to late 80s ,until clunkys death in early 89 ,after he was found dead in a new york back alley having choked to death on his own cardboard. the funeral was attended by dozens of adoring fans ,and the epitaph was read by sir elton john. sharp went on to write music for popular tv shows such as countdown and john cravens newsround !!!.
This was an amazing video and everyone who's been following Rob for a while and knows his legitimacy and ethos as a person, should know this is 100% authentic. No chance this was set up and totally unnecessary he had to swear on his kids just to convince a bunch of internet trolls. At the end of the day for those who've played these guitars, Chapman is indeed the best one. Keep up the good work lads!
