Do you get adequate sun exposure every day?
The other main cause is gluten, go gluten free for 30 days and report back here with results plz.

Very interesting video, thank you! In my late teens and early 20's, I had KP on my thighs and upper arms. No idea what they were at the time. But I went on a trip to Jamaica (not my first) and I decided that "this time" I would not use any toxic sunscreens on my skin, only virgin coconut oil. I never did any "sunbathing" (on purpose), I mostly stayed in the shade, except when I was in the water... and after 10 days, my KP was virtually gone (no sunburn, either) and has not come back since. That made me believe that it could've been caused by a vitamin D deficiency... yes, coconut oil and the salt water also probably helped!

I enjoyed your thoughts and I love how you essentially speak holistically🙌🏻 in my almost 4 decades I have helped my clients heal their skin by only holistic means.
With keratosis I also teach my clients to exfoliate daily while they wash their bodies. I have them use a Body brush either to dry brush or apply their body wash to it. I also tell them to dry off soft, either using a sugar scrub ( not salt) before final rinse or an oil.
    A few other tricks are
Head and shoulders in the dark blue bottle
Monistat 7 classic for anti fungal
    And corn starch.
I am going to add the cod liver oil.
    Thank you Dr B 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

The comments say gluten will worsen chicken skin. Suddenly, it seems like find a new continent. I remember I started to have these red bumps when I was a kid went to play in the chaff hill with pals. My parents took me to clinic but it cannot be cured. During that period, I remember my neighbor noticed my abnormal skin, but I was young and didn't take it seriously. Since then, my skin have never be normal. It gradually becomes noticeable to me. I n my adolescence, I hate it to death. Now I know the reason, the chaff is a trigger. I will stop eating gluten from now and observe. Thank your advice.

The best remedy for keratosis pilaris is cod liver oil. Cod liver oil: • Contains omega-3 fatty acids • Is great for the skin • Is anti-inflammatory • Supports blood sugar levels and reduces insulin • Contains vitamin A • Is a good source of vitamin D If you have keratosis pilaris, try consuming a high-quality cod liver oil. It's also essential to correct your diet by cutting out omega-6 fats and going on a low-carb diet. Managing your stress levels and improving your liver will also be beneficial.

Doctor, why didn't you tell me about this before? just kidding. I spent so much money trying to get keratosis under control. My arms looked really bad, I only wear long sleeves as result. I don't have a gallbladder, which I know now from your vids don't allow me to absorb vitamin A. From your videos (as well as Dr. Fung and Dr. Pradip), I started intermittent fasting and OMAD in January and noticed last week keratosis is diminishing finally. I no longer feel so much hunger, and when it comes I ignore it. I'm taking OX bile supplements to absorb A-D-K, feel and look better. I'm gonna try cod liver oil. Thanks so much, seriously thanks.

It made me very self conscious as a teen because girls would make fun of how gross my legs looked. I knew shaving made my condition worse so I never shaved or used chemical shaving creams. Luckily I'm blonde so my hair isn't super obvious, but I remember growing up and believing I would never find someone who would love me because I couldn't make my legs smooth and pretty. I had KP on my arms for years, my family has it too however, mine is not as severe as my family members. What I noticed is this, improving my diet, higher protein intake, less junk food, etc have all made massive improvement to my KP on my arms. I also noticed that showering in very hot water aggregates my KP so I would make sure that when I'm taking hot showers, I would not let my KP come into contact with the hot water. Instead I would switch to cold water and use soap to wash my arms.
I still have KP on my arm but it's not as bad. Previously I tried medication and many other options but none of them worked... I wasted hundreds of dollars doing this. Fixing diet, moisturizing and showering my KP areas with cold water are what worked for me.
    In short,
    1. Diet ( less junk food, higher protein intake )
    2. No hot water showers on KP areas
    3. Moisturizer. I use a simple water-based moisturizer called "Hada Labo" It's from Japan.

Just a little suggestion. I am a holistic master esthetician of almost 4 decades and I agree with Dr B. I also have my Clients exfoliate daily by either dry brushing or using a body brush with their body wash in the shower. I then have them use a sugar scrub ( not salt) or an oil before drying off. A few other tips are head and shoulders in the dark blue bottle and applying Monistat 7 classic( yes it works, anti fungal) all of those and diet have helped my clients get rid of Keratosis Pilaris completely. Many times the skin being thick or calloused is also an issue and or we have activated or left an opening for the natural fungus and bacteria on our skin. Just some extra skin love.

I went on a clean keto diet a year ago and realized a few months back that I don't have the red bumps on every pore on my thighs or arms anymore. I figured my diet did it, but now I know why. Keto promotes quite a bit of intermittent fasting as well as other fasting. So I wonder how can a person eat enough foods to consume adequate vitamins and minerals? Can you realistically get the levels needed in one or two meals per day? How much food do we have to eat in one sitting? I can't physically eat a mile high salad. I'll throw up 😝 So do we have to live taking a boatload of supplements bc we are fasting our life away? Can't have it both ways. We either eat our vitamins and minerals or we take supplements. So we pig out in one or two sittings? I sure miss the days we had wonderful large family gatherings and eating was fun, rewarding and happy. We enjoyed our food not having to think I can't eat this or that bc its not keto omg! Now eating is joyless. Just a constant medical experiment at best. Torturous work at worst. Ay vey! Food is medicine indeed. And taking medicine is not fun or yummy. Just saying. Got to be a better way to live.

I believe part of the problem today is all of the additives to our foods, especially grains. I try to focus on eating twice a day and opt for protein, fat, and veggies (Whole Foods) while not completely cutting out grains and pastas. I know that I would lose weight faster on keto, but this has been a sustainable way for me to eat, slowly lose weight, feel loads better and still enjoy eating with friends and family without obsessing over what I’m eating.

In the past I got some lotions from dermatologists, but nothing was a game changer. Some years ago I drastically reduced gluten because of stomach problems and the crazy side effect was, that I had clear skin on my arms after 3 weeks of diet. To all the remedies mentioned by Dr. Berg, I would strongly recommend adding vitamin K2 supplements to the regime, for me it was the most significant factor in reducing KP by 80 percent. I took atleast 100 mcg a day, plus I stopped using body washes that contain soap, since in contact with the hard water in my area it was causing cloged pores on the back of the arms and back, which would lead to more dry skin, folliculits and scabs.

I have been battling KP for 40+ years. The only thing that has kept it at bay is Tretinoin .05%, but if I don't apply it for more than a day, my arms begin to break out again. Thank you, Dr. Berg. None of my Dr.'s have ever explained the root causes of KP. I am going out tomorrow to purchase cod liver oil!

As a vegetarian, I won’t be taking cod liver oil. If you could provide another option that isn’t animal based, that would be great.

Has anyone taken cod Liver oil and noticed it does have an effect on Ketosis Pilaris?
I have taken Vit.A as capsules, it didn´t make any noticeable diffrence. The only thng that helped me was
cream, triple a day and sorry but doing this every day...no! Also it was with urea 20%!!And still it wasn´t enough.

To add I also have just reached 100 (top of safe on bloodwok) on Vitamin D. Ihad been taking 10,000 units a day for 3 years. So that's not helping either. Maybe we need to do all of these things to make it better.

I use a Japanese exfoliating sponge to shower and use a 12% lactic acid lotion. I no longer have it. I now have the smoothest skin. But one time the lotion got sold out and had to go without if for a month. The condition came back so I am very dependent on the sponge and the lotion.

Huh.... Interesting! I'm a breast cancer survivor taking Tamoxifen daily and Goserelin depot injections every 4 weeks.
I had some bumps before chemo which I kept under control with an exfoliation and moisturising regime, but when my hair started growing back, the Keratosis Pilaris came back with a vengeance, even spreading to my forearms and thighs, and it's not responding to my previous regime.
Could it be that the hormone therapy is raising my Androgen levels? I'll give the cod liver oil a go too.

I have had this issue since I was about 11. It's all over my legs, arms, sides etc. It got worse over the years. On top of it, I have ingrown hair. My body hair would be curly, but can not longer even see most of the hair on my arms bcuz of this skin condition, it makes it harder for my curly body hair to grow. End up with insane amount of ingrown hair. It has really brought down my quality of life. I could go into all the details of why, but instead, I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! If this works for me, this will literally change my life!!!

Thank you so much Dr Berg! I struggled with KP for so long. I followed this vid immediately and I’m already seeing results after 1 week. Unfortunately I picked at the bumps out of desperation/frustration for so long and left scars. I am using vitamin E atm (from ur acne scar vid) and I was wondering if u might have any other additional tips to help with scars. Thank you so much! I look forward to all of your vids. 🤗
