For me I cleared my acne by: 1. Stopped eating all sugary foods, and started a low carb diets (not keto but just low carbs) 2. Supplements(which I also learned from dr.berg previous acne video), Zinc, VitD, VitB, fish oils. Those two advices totally changed my skin, thank you so much dr Berg❤️
@@raddgreat01 I wasn’t really counting since I was in college and didn’t know how to count the carbs, All I did was stopped all sugar, stopped all processed foods (since most of those also contain sugar), and took my daily supplements. I only eat meats, vegetables, and “regular” carbs, like rice, and sometimes pasta. Plus daily exercises, I remember it took me a few month to see significant improvement but my acne was really bad so that’s probably why took longer to clear my skin.
@@hackusute7285 thank you, I remember I started all my “acne supplement” at the same time, but I spread them out through the day, so I figured that would be easier for my body to absorb them. Also, I forgot to mention the vegetables that really helped is cruciferous vegetables (also learned it from dr.Berg’s previous acne videos), and fish oil I took was cod liver fish oil, which is loaded with vitamin A, it helped a lot in controlling the clogging of pores from excess oil.
What has helped me to get rid of the acne completely: 1. I stopped all sugary sweet foods as well as processed carbs (rice, bread, pasta, etc) and practised IF 2. I stopped all the dairy (Way too high in estrogen/hormones = inflammatory) Except for kefir, yogurt and optionally raw milk 3. I added probiotic foods like yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut, homemade lacto fermented veggies and optionally raw milk (fresh from the organic farmer, not heat treated or homogenized, no de-natured proteins, still having all the enzymes and probiotic bacteria alive) 4. I treated my skin with probiotcs as well, in this case Apple Cider Vinegar. Mixing 1 tsp water with 1 tsp ACV. Dabbing a cotton patch in it, cleaning the skin with it, then washing the rest off with fresh water. No other products. The probiotics in the ACV are very helpfull for the natural skin bacteria and it keeps super oily skin dry for the rest of the day. 5. I made sure to get enough Zinc, Vit D3, Vit A, Vitamin E, Omega 3s and B-Vitamins into my diet. Best would be through food (grass fed beef and it's organs such as liver and heart, cod liver, egg yolks), but supplements were ok too (good quality cod liver oil for instance) 6. Green veggies!! Lots of them. I juiced them whenever I couldnt eat them. -Note on Green Juice: Green bitter juices are *very beneficial for a congested liver* (mostly caused by fructose overload). A helpful juice recipe could look like: Celery stalks, arugola, dandelion leafes, broccoli or kale, ginger, lots of lemon to counteract the bitter taste. Having this juice daily for a week or 2 can really change skin complexion if fruit has been cut out during that time. 7. I avoided vegetable/seed oils for cooking and stuck with Olive Oil. Seed oils encourage inflammation, in turn causing acne. You can also cook with animal fats, if you like. Note: if you're a nut butter lover like me, switch to natural nut butters instead of conventional, which are also filled with seed oils. - Note on healthy Nutella Recipe: get yourself some hazelnut butter with nothing but 100% hazelnut in it and mix in some natural unsweetend cacao powder or molten dark chocolate and add a sweetener of your choice. You just got yourself the most decadent luxurious healthy Nutella there is. No need to buy the jarred stuff ;) 8. Exercise! Exercise lowered my inflammatory response to sugar. Both cardio and strength training worked well for this. Resistance trainig had a longer lasting effect, since sufficient muscles were build in that time Note: Most of the time, for gym-people who have bad acne it's not actually the carbs, but whey protein and binding chemicals in protein shakes, too much dairy as protein source, highly processed carbs and vegetable oils or nutritional deficiencies. Exercise can take a toll on your body and thus use up most of your stored vitamins and nutrients much quicker than can be replaced. 9. I avoided stress. Especially over-exercising would stress my body on a cellular level, causing dysfunction in my hormone system and causing acne! Gotta take our rest days seriously. We shouldnt under-eat our calories for quick weight loss. We should get on a good sleep schedule. 10. Contraception pills and IUD's. This one's for the ladies and I want to point out that *I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken as medical advice* but hormonal contraceptives, even a copper IUD (made of copper wire on a *piece of plastic* which inevitably leaches hormonal toxins into the body) can raise estrogen levels above normal. This will trigger it's counter-part testosterone to rise as well (bc the body always strives to stay in a balanced ratio) which can cause exessive sebum production in the face's oil glands, clogging pores and causing acne. They also depleate all improtant vitamins and nutrients in a terribly quick fashion, causing deficiency over time! 11. If you have PCOS like me, try spearmint tea (not peppermint). It lowers androgens and can help with hormonally caused acne too. Also make sure to eat your daily veggies and get in at least 15 mins of walking in every day. This will help eliminate your bowls very reliably every day, also excreting excess hormones. Always keep in mind: what worked for me might not work for you. *Know your triggers first* and only then try to use these tips to work on them. Hope this helps!
@@LORENNACORRAL sounds harsh but I also refrained from fruit. Just a hand full of berries a day. No more. However, I underwent a liver cleanse as well. For 2 weeks straight i cut out ALL sugar including all fruit. And i made a bitter green juice every day with celery juice, dandelion greens, arugola and a whole lemon. No fruit for sweetness. One glass every morning on an empty stomach. It also helped clear my skin and my tolerance for fruit got waaaay better after that. I no longer break out from fruit that easily and I believe it has to do with the liver detox. Before that just a plain apple would already make me break out. Maybe this helps a bit :)

I went to a dermatologist who told me that diet has no effect on acne and all that matters is the acne bacteria, which she told me accutane kills. Needless to say, she was desperate to write me that accutane script (which I refused)

@@Akshayaraj-kk4zg you could fast a whole day, but you should start for a few hours after you wake up and progress from there, remember to drink water & stay hydrated too.
My biggest skincare regret was using Proactive when my acne wasn’t bad to begin with. It destroyed my skins barrier, led to moderate acne, and took years to reverse. Hydrafacials, committing to a skincare regimen, moisturizing, not touching my face, drinking tons of water, wiping my phone screen, and washing my pillow cases have made a big difference in my skin
@Sam Kearns you are the only person who mentioned washing pillowcases or changing them daily. People who are trying to get rid of acne should use clean pillowcases everyday!!
oh gosh that might be the same for me. I actually had moderate acne at the time but whenever i used it constantly i always ended up having 1 - 2 huge pimples on my face. Never touching that thing again.

Stop with snacking (sugars, junk food etc. 3. Intermittent fasting 4. Eating milk thustle You also need to lower your insulin levels, which you do by everything above. Not over washing your face to preserve the good natural bacteria on the skin, also try Green Tea and zinq and Copper supplements as well as adding burberine to your diet.
I have been badly affected by acne for most of my life. The one thing which really improved my acne was fasting every year. As a Muslim we have to fast for a month every year. I noticed an improvement when I fasted. I also did water only fasting at certain point of my life. This was around 3 days a week. And that really improved my acne.
I think eating more organically helps as well... I go back and fourth currently trying to eat much better but I used to fast and ate organtic/healthier (always Vegas, protein u guys were right prob not high carb) and my skin got better.
It is refreshing to have a Dr. come out and explain to you how to get better by changing bad habits vs just prescribing medication that usually has side effects.

From Cambodia 🇰🇭 here . I rarely post comment on UA-cam. But I’m super grateful to have come across this video. Dr Berg , you have helped restore my self esteem and allow me to take control of my life again. I’m in my mid 30s and I have had acne problem over the last 1.5yrs, I have gone through various treatments and spent a lot of money and time but nth seemed to work. I found this video about 2m back and followed your advice, now I don’t have new acne for 3 weeks now ! I feel a lot better and I’m still doing fasting , limit sugar carbs and diary. Next is to clear all acne scars on my face :) Thank you so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’ve followed Dr Berg for about a month. This is the clearest my face has been in years. I’m a 50yo female. The dermatologist called it hormonal acne and wanted to put me on spirnalactone which is a diuretic. I declined that medicine. It’s taken me since 2008 to actually listen to people like Dr Berg. I’m a nurse and used to teach diabetics how to get well(ha). The longer I’m in the medical field I realize it’s a big money thing. Change your diet. Yes it’s going to be uncomfortable at first but depression, acne, systemic inflammation are so on and so are not worth it.
@@AMcDub0708 you are correct however I’ve learned that the dose used for acne is not the same dose used as a diuretic. So it shouldn’t be a problem but I was hesitant to use it too until I realized that point!
I had acne for many years until I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and since I started with my therapy i got super clear skin. I was anaware of the stress my body had to indure. I feel better and my skin got almost perfect. I didn't change anything else just started with therapy.
You know, that is amazing to hear because most people don't realise that stress is a major factor to acne. I share in my latest post my experience of this too. Hope it helps!
I have never written a comment on UA-cam before, but now I just can't stop expressing my gratitude for this channel! Thank you so much for sharing all this information Dr. Berg, your work is amazing!

Thank you Dr. Berg. This video was really informative. I began with severe cystic acne when I was 9 years old until around age 37. It was all over my face and back. Sometimes the cysts on my back would bleed. I am now 78 years old. My father was a doctor and he prohibited me from eating chocolate, but he suspected sugar. I was on antibiotics for around 25 years, acne surgery, dry ice, radiation treatments etc. Nothing really helped until I went on accutane when it was still in the trial period. It was a miracle and I reacted to it favorably. We tried every treatment before that. At one point my father had a vaccination made from me. Nothing helped. I wish some of this information was available to me so many many years ago because it was a nightmare, especially the lack of condidence and being bullied.
I am so sorry you had to endure all that pain--emotional, mental, and physical. (I, too, know the struggle of acne, though not to the extent you experienced it.) I am sending you lots of love and healing energy for your heart 💗
I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I had it through my teens on my face and back also...it destroys your self confidence. I was just lucky I didn’t get bullied, it could have happened quite easily. I was put on erythromycin at 16, and although it completely cleared the acne, I think it helped cause a lot of immune issues in me. Diet has helped to reverse it, but you’re right, this sort of information wasn’t around then. Hopefully you have found peace as an adult. ❤️
As someone who suffered from severe acne in the past, in my experience diet is more important than hygiene when it comes to acne. (Although both are important) Keep the sugar down and avoid processed food will bring you 90% of the way there
It doesn't add up, I've known countless people who only drink full sugar fizzy drinks, no water, don't eat fresh fruits and vegetables, yet have perfect skin. If it was one person I'd chalk it up to genetic luck, but Ive experienced all too often.

I had severe acne at age 17. I went on the Paleo diet and after a couple months my skin was completely clear. Not only did I no longer feel like hiding in the dark but random people would comment on my glowy skin and ask what I use.
I wish I could show my before and after photos! I struggled with cystic acne, my face hurt soooo much. My dermatologist referred me to an endocrinologist, come to find out I had PCOS. Diet change completely changed my skin! I now have zero blemishes. All of this happened before the rise of UA-cam, this information is crucial for anyone struggling with acne!
Your videos are such gems! Simple, very well explained and very entertaining. Not a bit boring. 🌸 growing up my mom didn’t make puddings after each meal. Instead she served salads with meals and some fruit after the meal if we wanted it. There was both type 1 diabetes & type 2. So she restricted our diet when it came to excess carbs, starches & sugars As a result my brother & I didn’t have acne at all, I didn’t realise it was her diet she introduced us to, she served a lot of seafood and occasionally chicken & lean lamb, so we had healthy zinc levels. If we had milk in oatmeal it was pasteurised to kill of anything. I ate loads of butter, some hard cheese, fish and vegetables growing up And she never bought or served us fast food, I never had kfc, burgers, fries, milkshakes, I was so envious of other kids eating that stuff. My mom was medically trained & she was knowledgeable in what a good diet consisted of. I’m grateful for what she’s passed on to my brother & I I’m reminded about the teachings and learning a great deal more when I see Dr Berg’s videos, thank you for them 😊✨
I'm glad that you mentioned dairy products, it's actually one of the leading causes of acne for many people. When I reduced my consumption of dairy I noticed that pimples started to pop out significantly rarer.
You're absolutely right mate. I've reduced the consumption of dairy products. That automatically healed my acne to a certain extent. Dairy increases acne that's a Fact!!!
You’re right. I stopped drinking milk every time my dad tell me to drink milk I sneaked and poured them into the sink, my forehead acne started to become clear, but some unlucky occasions occurred and I started drinking milk again because of my dad. My forehead acne started to act up again.

Hello Doctor, First I would like to thank you very much for this video. I am sure it helped and will help a lot of people. I would like to describe my story - I am 32 years old, and since when I was 18 I struggle with acne. From few of the "bests" and most expensives dermatologist I heard that there is nothing I can do more and this is genes. What I have tried so far: 1. Diet - glutenfree, removing dairy, low foodmap, low glycemic index/load, drinking green tea 2. Food only prepared by me - all cooked, no frying, no fast food 3. No Alcohol, no carbonated drinks 4. Using gels and creams anti-acne every morning and before sleep, face masks with coal once a week 5. Changing towels regularly every 2-3 days, washing bed linen every week 6. The use of zinc (I noticed that when I used 500% of human daily norm, the results were satysfying - its just 2 tabs, 1 had 250% norm) 7. Did hormones tests, did food allergies tests, did blood tests - everything in norm and the results? it is MUCH better, but still from time to time I have some zits on my face / body. I could not understand why. One of the doctor suggest (most of them did) to use anti-botics and yeah it helped me in past - but this is no proper way to eliminate the root cause. What will happened when I will finish antibotics? It's just a workaround. I never thought about eliminating sugar completely from my diet. I haven't eat that much, but it may be the case - I love tea with lemon, orange, strawberry, berries, lime and honey with raspberry sauce. I watched the movie twice, interestingly - it came up when I entered on youtube the effect of sugar on acne (I was already on the trail of sugar regarding acne) I will follow all the advice I have heard here and I will let you know what the situation looks like after some time. Thank you very much, Doctor
@@BeautyFashionM To be honest, I am still not 100% cured from time to time something appear but really, really rare. And for those of you with back acne: 1. Wash your bed sheets weekly, and use sheets that are non-irritating (I use bamboo). 2. Rinse your back with water and lightly scrub with a normal towel after sweating (and switch shirts if you've sweated significantly) That said, I still get acne from sitting through a long movie, right where my back presses against the seat. I don't know what to do about that.
Gluten and dairy give me acne along with sugar. Usually if I can keep these to a minimum my skin stays pretty clear. For those who have stubborn acne that won’t respond to anything look into fungal acne. Stress does play a role for sure as it does with all health issues. Very sound advice on this video!
Informative video. I have been plagued with severe acne for 30+ years. I have used Accutane 3 times on a 2 pill dose for 6 months each time spread over a 10 year span. The severity was horrific and was less severe after each accutane session. Until a year ago I was still having acne issues until I changed my diet. This worked for me, but it may not work for everyone. #1 cut out all dairy #2 cut out all sugar #3 reduce stress. I did reduce carbs but I couldn’t pinpoint if it helped or not. It was really hard to change my habits of what I ate! Try to stay positive for anyone with acne. I know the mental pain you can experience from people thinking your “dirty”. Just remember it’s not your fault.
@@idilmohamed_ it wasn’t both at the same time. I started with dairy first and noticed a difference after 2 weeks. Time went on my skin was better but still had breakouts. I thought it was even rice at one point, but I didn’t realize how much sugar they put in sushi rice. I also use a light face cleanser with HYALURONIC ACID ( cerave oil control ) everyday in the shower. I try to eat very basic foods. It’s boring sometimes but you need to choose what’s more important.
I have dry skin and generally speaking, it’s kinda rare to have acne when you have less oil production on your face. But I do notice that when I fast and cut back carbs and junk food, and exercise everyday , my skin gets healthy and dewy. Instead of dull, dry skin. I had terrible acne when I was a teen. It affected my self-image and made me shy around girls. I’d get mad and pop them. Mom took me to a dermatologist who rubbed dry ice on my face. The treatment didn’t help. This was back in the 1960’s. Mom was an old fashioned Southern cook. Lots of fried food, cakes and pies. Your video will no doubt help those with acne.
Me too! We were never taught right on diet and skincare. Then when I went to a dermatologist for acne problems when I was a teenager all they would do was prescribe antibiotics and creams through the pharmacy (RX prescription) but never get to the real root causes of acne. Prescription drugs do sometimes work but it’s like putting a band aid over the problem. Dermatologist doctors here in the United States are all for the big pharmaceutical’s.
Thanks Dr. Berg for the video. In the past couple of months I’ve been struggling with acne on my chin, thought it was caused by wearing face masks for hours at work, but read-up its most likely caused by hormonal imbalance, so decided to do fasting again, 16/8 sometimes 20/4 fast, I kid you not the acne is gone 👏🏼👏🏼
Fasting got all the toxins out of your body that you had been accumulating from all the animal fat you had been consuming. The toxins were trying to get out through your skin, but you sped up the cleansing process with the fasting. Large animals are loaded with animal fat and hence toxins. Toxins are stored in animal fat.
I came across this video today and I gotta say I began doing two things right according to your list. I began intermittent fasting 6 months ago. I also did a Daniel’s fast which is basically a vegan fast and found out I am lactose intolerant. I stayed away from milk ever since I found my food intolerance. No lactose along with intermittent fasting has made my acne smaller than before. My face still has acne but it is better than before. I am definitely going to try following the other tips you gave in the video!
I had horrible cystic acne as a teen. People told me to avoid fatty and greasy foods. Oily foods equals oily skin according to their logic. So I ate less fat and ate more sugar and carbs and the problem never got better
For all the guys in here talking about “killing your bulk”: 1) all you have to do is work out enough to make sure you’re getting the most from your eating, add pro and prebiotics and implement fasting to reset your insulin resistance levels. Instead of setting daily goals, make them weekly (i.e. 7 days’ worth of food in 6 days) and spend a full 24 hours on one of the weekends not eating anything, just resting and drinking water. Not only will this help burn off some of that fat and give you a spike in HGH like you wouldn’t believe, but it will also help heal your gut lining (and thus improve your acne TREMENDOUSLY and improve all-around nutrient absorption). 2) get laid. Seriously. I’m not saying girls don’t care about acne or muscles, but they care about it SO MUCH LESS THAN YOU THINK!!! In all the studies of attractiveness physical factors barely explained 10% of the variance with any statistical significance. What they care about is assertiveness and confidence (not narcissism, not assholery, not bravado). It will help your confidence, reduce stress and balance out your hormones (the miraculous test booster). 3) Make sure you have a good skincare routine, and by that I mean that you’re minimizing the amount of products you’re using and have a regimen for a breakout. These days I’m down to just getting a sweat in before the shower instead of all the cleansers and some spot gel for the odd pimple. 4) SLEEP!!! 8 HOURS!!! AND GO TO BED AROUND 10pm. It will help so many of your problems and your gains will skyrocket, basically the closest you can get to steroid-level growth increases without actually taking them. I am 22 and have had acne since I was 13. Trust me. Obviously your mileage may vary, but I would bet my left testicle you will start managing your acne and bulk insanely quickly if you implement all of these regularly. And the results will be there within a month. Just like a solid gym routine, once those results show up just keep at it and thank me later. Good luck, soldiers.
I had a severe case of acne during my teenage years. My back is covered in scars from where I had cysts. My recommendation is to take Eric Berg’s advice, but also to avoid using cream, even if it’s advised by your doctor. Every cream that I was prescribed caused skin irritation, and eventually acne.
I wish I had this information when I had troubled skin. This would have helped so much 😪🤍 I hope parents can help their children by finding this video. Thank you once again Dr Berg.
Dude, don't be so naive. You don't even know if this work. Just because some guy on the internet says it will work doesn't mean it will. I tried all of that stuff beside the milk thistle for years now and i still have acne on my back, neck and face.
Thanks Dr Berg, for years Ive struggled with breakouts and put it down to genetics cause my mum has oily skin. But growing up with family life and studying at university my stress levels were always super high. And liver not great. Makes sense thanks again genius.
I’m in my early 20s and I stared the keto internment fasting this week. My old diet consistent on eating on grains, vegetables, fruits and chicken only. But then I discover Dr. Berg and it fascinated me to try keto. For the first time I’m dealing with a breakdown of acne, fatigue and mental stress down. I know I need more salt and electrolyte because I’ve been learning keto as doing it. But the acne has been a huge problem in my face. I’m giving keto a try for a good two months and I hope it’s just a phase because for a long time I avoided salt, meat and dairy and with keto I’m all of a sudden with these symptoms and eating not like I use to. I have a feeling my body is getting use to it, but I hope my acne goes away a my body receives the keto adjustment.
I've had acne since puberty into my 40s. It was never a terrible amount but I'd have breakouts around my temples and forehead all the time. Cutting out sugar and processed food made a huge difference. I'll still get the very occasional pimple once in a while but it's improved by about 95%. I can tell a difference when I go on vacation because I'll eat more processed foods and refined grains than usual and I'll get a few extra pimples. I wish I knew this info back in high school when I would drink tons of soda.
@@ridasohail1709 I eat as naturally as possible. I rarely eat packages foods with dozens of ingredients. I stick with a lot of eggs, chicken, tons of vegetables, at least 1 piece of fruit a day and alot of salads. My salads have literally everything on them.. onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, celery, olives, pickles, avacado, and more. I make my own salad dressings with olive oil and seasonings. I avoid almost all Vegetable oils (they are literally in almost everything so it's hard to fully avoid them), sugar, never drink pop, rarely eat sugary snacks...no donuts, cakes, or stuff like that. I will still have the occasional pizza like once a month. This in combination with daily exercise not only helps with acne but just health in general. My health stats are literally perfect (body weight, BP, A1C, cholesterol, RHR), and I take zero prescription meds
I found that what Dr Berg said regards over washing acne with soap is true, as more as you over wash the affected areas as more as it will get worse, I have a better skin now thanks to Dr Berg's advices as well on using cod liver oil.
I just use curd and apple cider vinegar because I want to grow good bacteria and soap kills good bacteria. I had dandruff but probiotics helped so much that i don't have dandruff now.
started loving this man after just 2 videos because all the doctors gives medicine and antibiotics as a prescription but he is giving some natural methods as prescription its great
Summary: Low carb, no snacking, avoid dairy, intermittent fasting Milk thistle, Berberine, green tea Don’t pop pimples, don’t overclean face, use a water filter
Proactive skin care products cleared my acne. I’m in my late 40s and have suffered with acne since I was 18. I’ve tried absolutely everything including not eating saturated fats or refined carbs. I was so strict with my diet but nothing helped. So Dr Bergs advice didn’t work for me. I got onto using products with the right combination of skin care ingredients and that’s what made the difference. It’s not just about eating healthy, it’s also about keeping your skin clear from excess sebum production and bacteria by washing your face daily.
Sorry to hear about the issues you have had, it can be super hard. But I think you might have misunderstood his dietary suggestion. He never said anything about not eating saturated fat. In fact he said to keep you blood sugar from spiking, so removing all carbs and eating some saturated fat is closer to what he was saying.
@@BroodjeDel proactiv….it’s a skin care product set that includes cleanser, toner and repairing lotion. It uses benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid and salicylic acid as the main ingredients. Designed by a dermatologist.
@@thebeholder5055 I understood what he was saying. I’ve done that…avoid refined carbs that spike your insulin and small amounts of saturated fats. (I ate meat) It didn’t solve the problem for me. It certainly helped but proactv cleared my skin completely…..not a zit to be seen. Just a question….if you remove ALL carbs you are going keto, right? Not everyone, including dieticians and nutritionists agree with this diet. Some go so far as to say it’s dangerous for your body. So if you want clear skin but don’t want to cut out most vegetables then try this skincare product that worked magically for me.
This worked for me: after eliminating milk I saw a great improvement. Now, only if I have sugar for several days in a row I get a pimple. I have to thank a stranger who, at a shop, gave me this spontaneous advice. Thank you doctor for your work!
I don’t understand why people most of the people that I know that has overweight and eats anything they want and has very poor nutrition (sodas, chocolates, fat food, etc) has the most beautiful face without acne. I don’t get it.
There's also a gut flora connection to Acne which no one talks about. I suddenly started suffering from severe acne starting age of 25, I went to several dermatologists who tried various creams and antibiotics but the acne over the next few years, the acne problem never went away so I eventually gave up on the treatments. 2 years back when I was 40, I got food poisoning and I eventually recovered from it without any medication. After a few days I realised that my long term acne problem had gone, the infection got rid of my acne. My guess is that the infection wiped out the gut bug that was causing my acne. It's been 2 years since my infection and I have never got a single acne since.
One of the best summaries I’ve seen on acne. It’s easy to understand and makes sense. (The only confounding part of my acne problem is why I can’t put any oils on my skin, causes instant acne.)
Yeah it does it to my skin so I just keep it clean and do take olive leaf extract. For a while i stupidly washed face with too warm of water. I didn't know milk thistle would be that important, I take it.Vit A can help. Also a little ice on acme can help reduce the red and size of pimple or vanquish it. Everyone on here says it; I have never said it but I LOVE YOU DR BERG YOU HAVE SAVED MY LIFE. Not really as I know a lot of this stuff but he did help me to cut down on sugar a lot but I could never go full keto. I bought one of his potassium powders and it lasts a long time but the scoop is not user friendly. The Love is a little less, but still there! I have never gotten a "heart" and never expect to as it seems the good doc demands praise (not really) but he doesn't like to be critiqued.
It will take time to get rid of acne. I've had acne breakouts since I was 19 and I'm 43 now and still getting acne now and then... Cutting out sugar definitely helps, exercising and eating better. All the best to you all and be patient...
I don't est sugar, stopped bread and milk, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, sleep well, exercise and still have acne at 47. My parents never had acne or my brother and their diet isn't really good. The only things that worked are hormone medication and anti biotics.
Thank you Dr berg. I relate. It took me a long time to learn the correct solution on my own. This is very helpful. Most people are given bad information.
@@samanthagavaudan9472 yes I am exactly the same at 52 yrs of age. Green tea helped with the hormonal acne of youth but not so much now. I was eating very healthily. However healthy foods often contain lectins which can aggravate the gut and cause skin disorders. I also find sulphur rich foods cause a flare up so I avoid eggs, garlic and broccoli etc.
Mate, I wish I had of known this 40 years ago. My own kids are coming into their teens and this will help them with their confidence when the time comes. Thank you.
Even when I use to have really bad acne, having a simple skin care routine did more than having a plethora of cleaning products. Having a simple but proper cleanser for your skin type, active ingredient if needed, and moisturizer is all you need to maintain great skin along with a healthy lifestyle and diet
@@carlie215 I use CeraVe foaming cleanser, if you have more dry and sensitive skin, the moisturizing formula they have is good too. And I use Cetaphil face and body lotion, it has Vitamin E and B5 in it to help lock in moisture. I also use a mineral sunscreen that has zinc oxide which I find helps keep my skin protected and prevent breakouts as well. That one is from Paulas Choice. Hope you can find what’s right for you :)
I’m 29 and suffering from acne. The only way I can reduce it is to avoid: - sugar (sweet foods and fruits) mangoes, watermelon, honey make my acne worse. - Milk. - Peanuts ( raw, roasted, butter). peanuts are the worst nuts I came across, the reaction is immediate. - I sometimes use antibiotics to reduce inflammation ( amoxicillin or ampicillin combined with metronidazole). For me my acne is linked with my diet but I know something ain’t right inside me. I just control my diet and get better. I took a lot of treatments from dermatologists but none of them worked till I found this working solution. Acne sucks 😅
Go get yourself wild chaga elixir and you'll be shocked by the results. Not only that it cleans your skin, but also it makes your hair shiny and healthy within a week! My friend's been using it since September and her skin is glowing, her hair is so shiny, and what's even more crazy it's that her eyes became even bluer. It's totally insane what wild chaga does to you. She also said that her energy is over the roof, never been so focused and motivated, hasn't been sick since she started drinking it. She convinced even me, even tho i don't have any skin issues but i have to feel those other benefits, so i ordered it few days ago. Trust me on this ladies, it will be your best investment ever. One more thing, make sure you buy the real organic wild chaga elixir, not some modified crap.
I had clear skin up until I reached 13 and booommm, full on acne. I tried the route of accutane through a dermatologist which I found out later is really bad for me. Later I found I had to completely change my diet, take our dairy and gluten and go on a probiotic. My acne cleared up but I have scarring 😥
@@rodi2641 nothing helps with my scars. I've seen dermatologists, and I don't want to experiment with really expensive treatments. Keto helps to really clear my skin and also an affordable skin care regimen including tretinoin and sunscreen
Unbelievable!! I'm eating once a day and have been following Dr. Berg's eating guidelines for the last several months. Two days ago I met a friend for lunch; to celebrate his recent retirement we ordered Godiva chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Today I have a significant red bump on my face. And here I thought that at age 62 I was still hormonal. :)
100% agree with you my guy. Some of us are severely prone to insulin resistance and sadly mainstream downplay this fact(mainstream focus calorie in calorie out) but the truth go way back.
I still had acne when I was was 33! So I decided to stop picking my skin, and Not eating gluten and or dairy, specially cheese. I am 36 and my skin look pretty good. Drink plenty of water to flush everything out! Clean your gut!
I am 41 and I've terrible acne. It started in 2020 and I've tried many things without getting any results. I will follow your advice and see what happens. Thanks for sharing great value always.
Dermastamping with the Banisher2.0 helps as well. It treats the scars without hitting the active acne. Plus, it helps in making sure that your skin care is well absorbed by the skin and wont clog pores.
Started doing keto and this is the best my skin has felt in years. And it makes sense that carbs turn to sugar and end up on our face. Dr. Berg thanks for being so open and transparent especially, offering herbs! Who does that but the good doctor?! Lol you the real MVP! We love ya.
Im trying to do keto but the stuff im eating has like 50g carbs , from veggies etc , how the fk am i supposed to keep 50 carbs minimum when i reach like 100 idfk
Everything turns to glucose in your body. That's just your energy fuel. The problem with sugar is not the sugar, but the insulin spike you get. More carbs make more insulin. I don't know how it works with long chained carbs though.
For me I cleared my acne by:
1. Stopped eating all sugary foods, and started a low carb diets (not keto but just low carbs)
2. Supplements(which I also learned from dr.berg previous acne video), Zinc, VitD, VitB, fish oils.
Those two advices totally changed my skin, thank you so much dr Berg❤️
How much carbs do u eat a day ?
@@raddgreat01 I wasn’t really counting since I was in college and didn’t know how to count the carbs, All I did was stopped all sugar, stopped all processed foods (since most of those also contain sugar), and took my daily supplements.
I only eat meats, vegetables, and “regular” carbs, like rice, and sometimes pasta. Plus daily exercises, I remember it took me a few month to see significant improvement but my acne was really bad so that’s probably why took longer to clear my skin.
Congratulations on clearing up your acne! Did you introduce each supplement gradually or did you begin taking all them at once?
@@hackusute7285 thank you, I remember I started all my “acne supplement” at the same time, but I spread them out through the day, so I figured that would be easier for my body to absorb them.
Also, I forgot to mention the vegetables that really helped is cruciferous vegetables (also learned it from dr.Berg’s previous acne videos), and fish oil I took was cod liver fish oil, which is loaded with vitamin A, it helped a lot in controlling the clogging of pores from excess oil.
Hey can I take a multivitamin and a fish oil supplement work? Since multivitamin does contain zinc vitd and vitb right?
What has helped me to get rid of the acne completely:
1. I stopped all sugary sweet foods as well as processed carbs (rice, bread, pasta, etc) and practised IF
2. I stopped all the dairy (Way too high in estrogen/hormones = inflammatory) Except for kefir, yogurt and optionally raw milk
3. I added probiotic foods like yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut, homemade lacto fermented veggies and optionally raw milk (fresh from the organic farmer, not heat treated or homogenized, no de-natured proteins, still having all the enzymes and probiotic bacteria alive)
Best would be through food (grass fed beef and it's organs such as liver and heart, cod liver, egg yolks), but supplements were ok too (good quality cod liver oil for instance)
6. Green veggies!! Lots of them. I juiced them whenever I couldnt eat them.
-Note on Green Juice:
Green bitter juices are *very beneficial for a congested liver* (mostly caused by fructose overload).
No need to buy the jarred stuff ;)
8. Exercise! Exercise lowered my inflammatory response to sugar. Both cardio and strength training worked well for this. Resistance trainig had a longer lasting effect, since sufficient muscles were build in that time
Note: Most of the time, for gym-people who have bad acne it's not actually the carbs, but whey protein and binding chemicals in protein shakes, too much dairy as protein source, highly processed carbs and vegetable oils or nutritional deficiencies.

Ah man I love rice
what about fruit sugar?

Hydrafacials, committing to a skincare regimen, moisturizing, not touching my face, drinking tons of water, wiping my phone screen, and washing my pillow cases have made a big difference in my skin

I’ve followed Dr Berg for about a month. This is the clearest my face has been in years. I’m a 50yo female. Yes it’s going to be uncomfortable at first but depression, acne, systemic inflammation are so on and so are not worth it.

Started at 9? My gosh that is young, you poor thing 😔 Glad you found relief
Your poor father too. He was sound to suspect sugar, good man. Poor you though!
Dude! 25 years of antibiotics and ur still alive at 78???? You’re a fuckin trooper bro

🌸 growing up my mom didn’t make puddings after each meal. Instead she served salads with meals and some fruit after the meal if we wanted it. There was both type 1 diabetes & type 2. So she restricted our diet when it came to excess carbs, starches & sugars
As a result my brother & I didn’t have acne at all, I didn’t realise it was her diet she introduced us to, she served a lot of seafood and occasionally chicken & lean lamb, so we had healthy zinc levels. If we had milk in oatmeal it was pasteurised to kill of anything. I ate loads of butter, some hard cheese, fish and vegetables growing up
And she never bought or served us fast food, I never had kfc, burgers, fries, milkshakes, I was so envious of other kids eating that stuff. My mom was medically trained & she was knowledgeable in what a good diet consisted of. I’m grateful for what she’s passed on to my brother & I

Hello Doctor,
First I would like to thank you very much for this video. I am sure it helped and will help a lot of people.
I would like to describe my story - I am 32 years old, and since when I was 18 I struggle with acne. From few of the "bests" and most expensives dermatologist I heard that there is nothing I can do more and this is genes.
What I have tried so far:
1. Diet - glutenfree, removing dairy, low foodmap, low glycemic index/load, drinking green tea
2. Food only prepared by me - all cooked, no frying, no fast food
3. No Alcohol, no carbonated drinks
4. Using gels and creams anti-acne every morning and before sleep, face masks with coal once a week
5. Changing towels regularly every 2-3 days, washing bed linen every week
6. The use of zinc (I noticed that when I used 500% of human daily norm, the results were satysfying - its just 2 tabs, 1 had 250% norm)
7. Did hormones tests, did food allergies tests, did blood tests - everything in norm
and the results? it is MUCH better, but still from time to time I have some zits on my face / body.
I watched the movie twice, interestingly - it came up when I entered on youtube the effect of sugar on acne (I was already on the trail of sugar regarding acne)
I will follow all the advice I have heard here and I will let you know what the situation looks like after some time.
Thank you very much, Doctor
Y como te fué?

3) drinking 2x per day (at the morning just after waking up+ before sleep) - drink with juice ginger + juice lemon + chopped mint + curcumin + pepper

Gluten and dairy give me acne along with sugar. Usually if I can keep these to a minimum my skin stays pretty clear. This worked for me, but it may not work for everyone. #1 cut out all dairy #2 cut out all sugar #3 reduce stress. I did reduce carbs but I couldn’t pinpoint if it helped or not. Then when I went to a dermatologist for acne problems when I was a teenager all they would do was prescribe antibiotics and creams through the pharmacy (RX prescription) but never get to the real root causes of acne.

I've had acne since puberty into my 40s. It was never a terrible amount but I'd have breakouts around my temples and forehead all the time. Cutting out sugar and processed food made a huge difference. I'll still get the very occasional pimple once in a while but it's improved by about 95%.
I used to drink Mountain Dew a lot. And the school had many vending machines.
yes, sugar and processed food is the main culprit.
True. I wash with plain water and face oil.
Old folks didn't have complicated regimen but they didn't have acne.

Low carb, no snacking, avoid dairy, intermittent fasting
Milk thistle, Berberine, green tea

What is this product called👀
@@Mel130673He didn’t just say Keto, he talks more about healthy keto. The quality (especially meats) of your foods are huge.
This worked for me: after eliminating milk I saw a great improvement. Now, only if I have sugar for several days in a row I get a pimple. I have to thank a stranger who, at a shop, gave me this spontaneous advice. Thank you doctor for your work!
These were such informative and helpful tips! I'll keep your words in mind and follow them! Thank you so much, Dr. Berg! 🙏🏼🌿
@@oppothumbs1 what is keto? Excuse me
@@nexugabino5359 its a diet where you dont eat carbs; protains and fats only, this way you can keen you insuline low.
It will take time to get rid of acne. I've had acne breakouts since I was 19 and I'm 43 now and still getting acne now and then... Cutting out sugar definitely helps, exercising and eating better. All the best to you all and be patient...
I have acne always I eat too much foods with sugar.
same here,i stop chocolate, and cut sugar.
I love how Dr. Berg clearly explains everything in a relaxing way that you'll be so much interested on the related concern topic.

@@Drberg Dr what are your thoughts on HS skin disease?
Mate, I wish I had of known this 40 years ago. My own kids are coming into their teens and this will help them with their confidence when the time comes. Thank you.
Even when I use to have really bad acne, having a simple skin care routine did more than having a plethora of cleaning products. Having a simple but proper cleanser for your skin type, active ingredient if needed, and moisturizer is all you need to maintain great skin along with a healthy lifestyle and diet
Can you suggest the effective cleanser and moisturizer you used?
@@carlie215 I use CeraVe foaming cleanser, if you have more dry and sensitive skin, the moisturizing formula they have is good too. And I use Cetaphil face and body lotion, it has Vitamin E and B5 in it to help lock in moisture. I also use a mineral sunscreen that has zinc oxide which I find helps keep my skin protected and prevent breakouts as well. That one is from Paulas Choice. Hope you can find what’s right for you :)
I’m 29 and suffering from acne. The only way I can reduce it is to avoid:
- sugar (sweet foods and fruits) mangoes, watermelon, honey make my acne worse.
Where can i buy it?

I had clear skin up until I reached 13 and booommm, full on acne. I tried the route of accutane through a dermatologist which I found out later is really bad for me.
Later I found I had to completely change my diet, take our dairy and gluten and go on a probiotic.
My acne cleared up but I have scarring 😥
Fractional CO2 laser helps but careful ..there are scammers out there
Over time it will change. Patience is needed.
