my cities dickhead mayor decided to make every cop patrol solo. the day after that happened a police officer got pushed into train tracks and nearly got shot by his own gun. this order was instantly reverted and the superintendent of the police department basically said "told you so" to our mayor. i live in NYC. multiple times has 2 officers proven to be better. including in a shooting that happened in harlem where 2 officers were shot (both killed) and where 2 officers were ambushed in queens where a officer was shot and the second officer literally trickshotted the shooter, killing him.
This is the reason American cops simply need to be fast on the trigger, im no American but i also know that where cops are seen as better and less prone to pull out their gun, the civilians also don’t do stuff like that.

Yeah, mental health within police, military, etc., is typically heavily negatively stigmatized as well. Yet there are many who function perfectly fine with mild to moderate treatment for mental health conditions, even ones that require meds. The negative stigma needs to end, of those who seek treatment, and policies need to be updated to allow such to happen without fear of repurcussion from dept/govt. Having staff mental health peeps ain't cutting it, because nobody really trusts talking to someone on the payroll, especially when it is something not directly job related, ie manic depression, schizo-type disorders, even severe bouts of PTSD causing extreme sleep deprivation, hallucinations etc. They need to have a bit of an anonymous sort of setup, to where there is a layer of separation so peeps can trust not facing career repercussions for seeking treatment instead of hiding shit and battling symptoms without any sort of treatment.

11 years of working law enforcement and he becomes this unhinged just goes to show you how mentally taxing this career can be. So sad to see, but glad the patrol officers are okay.

"You saved my life" are the words that will get officer 2 through the mental/ emotional turbulence a person has to face after being forced to take a life.
So true because it’s not easy on them when they are forced to shoot someone. People act like they do it for fun when that’s the last thing a good cop will want to do.
That was some amazing instincts from officer 2. He’s a true hero!
I agree
That’s why I hate when people say there are no good cops. Because here’s two
Officer 2 is definitely an old school Bethesda sneak thief, and anyone would be lucky to have him as backup
he got that sneak damage bonus
Nothing like having a great partner to back you up. Another reason cops shouldn’t be working alone.
I heard rumors the department didn't like him becuase he was running for sheriff. I knew he called his wife, also a officer, to get to a place with more witnesses during a traffic stop becuase he didn't feel safe which lead to a unspecified crash maybe a pit maneuver which followed by him non violently fleeing yet getting run over and almost killed. Hopefully there isn't any racism or something fishy with that department maybe so.
Also a good reason to carry a backup gun. Probably not a huge concern for the average citizen who shouldn't be drawing the gun unless they are ready to fire, but anyone could be disarmed in a bad situation, even just a 22 pocket pistol would be nicer than nothing.
@@cantthinkofnameyeah7249 Given how he acted in this video, I can definitely understand the department not liking him. This is why you never do diversity hires, especially for jobs that are life and death situations.
@@cantthinkofnameyeah7249 Given the guy's behavior, I don't imagine it's to do with racism. It *IS* extremely concerning why they'd just flat out run the guy over with an SUV though. Fleeing pursuit *with a deadly weapon* yeah, it'd make sense you'd want to stop him before reaching a residential area he might start shooting in / taking hostages, but I'm kinda sketch on the "Slow Speed Pit Maneuver" there...
Good shoot at least, that man clearly was trying to die and couldn't be politely asked in the heat of the moment whether he was willing to take someone else with him; already lead to a firearm discharging into an officer's foot. But I think you're right to be a bit skeptical about the story involving the guy leading up to that point, something seems off.
@@cantthinkofnameyeah7249 He was clearly an unstable character. If he was running for sheriff but then goes and does something batsh!t crazy like this he shouldn’t have been running for sheriff. Chances are when someone said was unpopular, more than likely he was showing signs of instability and his colleagues had major concerns about his suitability for the job. He proved them right 100%.
Crazy how that man went from 11 years as police officer to promoted to detective to fired then ran over by a police vehicle then to this conclusion what a crazy turn of events that could have been avoided .
I’m thinking drugs were involved in his downfall, “policy violations” led to his termination…
Being a cop is a tough road
Thank God the offices were not killed by this ex-police DEI heir. I’m a retired black policeman, this is what the departments get for not fully evaluating these DEI employees.😮

@@bh7622 I respect your opinion, but personally I believe that this man clearly had a life that had value beforehand of these poor choices he made, if after the first encounter with the police he had someone their for him to guide him, we probably wouldn’t be watching this video of him condemning himself to death.

You said it bro
perp;"i gotta gun dawg"....me; pop,pop,pop,pop,pop,pop.....end of problem
It felt like both officers handled this one pretty well. Obviously Officer 2 for being aware enough to shoot in time, but also Officer 1 for rolling out of the way to make it harder for the suspect to shoot him while also giving Officer 2 a much clearer shot. Sure it's always a horrible mistake to lose your firearm but I have to say Officer 1 did all the right things after losing it.
Being that the perp was ex police the skill of disarming someone came into play here. For that reason I don't blame the first cop for being out maneuvered by a trained ex professional
BLM should riot .
Handled pretty well? Is that what this is called now? He arrives at the scene and seconds later lets an obviously violent criminal take control of his vehicle and then even his weapon?!
First of all, he stopped way too close to him. Second, he let the guy get even closer. Maybe America is too "special" of a place for me to understand, but running and growling at a police officer is not something a normal person would do in such a situation, and not something that should be encouraged. At that point already it was quite reasonable to open fire. He also had a taser on his hip. Why didn't take it out and use it immediately instead of hesitating and jumping around with a gun?
@@InfiniteDarkMass because he didn’t want to escalate the situation into someone dying 🤦♂️ he couldn’t go anywhere in the patrol vehicle anyways. This man is a good cop.

They even said that if someone is robbing your house you should just run away and call the cops, as if cops are able to save your life instantly 100% of the time, they were also anti-cop and gun
A lot of online people are pretty anti-cop lol
Been using reddit recently for technical help with animation and stuff, so I get notifications for trending stuff. 90% of the time, if it's somebody doing something negative, one of the top comments is something about them being an off duty cop lol
Heck, there was one post of a video where a cop was trying to arrest someone for no reason as 6 other cops just watched in awe and disappointment. One, believe a deputy, stopped him and essentially said "You can't do that, sit down."
The kicker was the fact that the comments were pointing out he was probably there due to unions then that dissolved into a bunch of people agreeing conservatives only want unions for cops because they like watching black people getting beat to death and hate workers.
Each of these comments had hundreds of likes lol

Where I'm from even security guards are required to work on ATMs in pairs. A police officer patrolling alone is just insane IMO.
Insane yes, but because of budget constraints, retention and low recruitment, I spent many years as lone outpost officer (& field supervisor) as did other outpost units. This guy was an ex cop; he knew the risks and likely response (unless he was so drugged out of his mind that he didn't know who he was anymore and it's VERY hard to stop someone like that non lethaly).
It could also be a mental health episode. From experience, if you get to a bad enough place and snap, even if you know the response your actions will get, that logical part of your brain is being pushed down and shouted over by the illness.
