@@captainlevonn9318 But if the cop isn't actually shot, won't that mean it would be an "attempted" assault charge? In my opinion, if you're unloading 14 rounds at cops, you are actively trying to kill them. They should always be charged with attempted murder.
What people, especially cops need is better marksmanship training. Police training focuses to much on quick rapid fire shooting and not enough on making your shots count
@@elmerthefudd9960 Adrenaline can do a lot to a person, forgive me if I'm wrong but I highly doubt the training is "Shoot as many bullets as you can" and more than likely to make as many precise shots as you can. At least there weren't four cops yelling "don't move!", "hands where I can see them!", "turn around!", "walk slowly!" and "crawl over here!". Of course, the best response is to cooperate with the police from the start, so it doesn't end in car chases and pointed guns. As a lawyer will tell you, shut up and fight it out in court.

Dude was only "self-forever-sleep-icidal" because he got caught after pew-pewing law enforcement. He wasn't originally wanting forever-sleep-by-cop, or he wouldn't have ducked back in the car when the officer started shooting back. Effectively - dude thought he was about the life, and then quickly learned that he wasn't. Once he realized that now he's not only going to jail for his rap sheet, he's now going to jail for 20 more charges that he built up in the course of less than 5 minutes, he didn't want to deal with the repercussions he was responsible for; going to jail for 30 years without parole. He only wanted forever-sleep after realizing he's going to jail for the rest of his life.
@engineer gaming Correct. "self-forever-sleep-by-cop" requires some amount of premeditation. It's never an after thought as demonstrated in this video. He's not actually suicidal - just upset he got caught. It's very common for criminals to feign mental health after making a regretful decision. It's tantamount to a teenager saying "I wanna die" just because they aren't allowed to go to the concert or go to a party. Self-forever-sleep is a serious issue, but it's rarely impulsive in the context that someone decides it out of nowhere - it generally involves long term distress. Studies show there is a tie between impulsivity and self-forever-sleep. However, the impulsivity is a symptom of an underlying issue, not the cause of the self-forever-sleep. There's nuance between someone who actually WANTS self-forever-sleep-by-cop and someone who's failing to deal with their consequences and is throwing a tantrum. You might argue an "acute" self-forever-sleep crisis, but typically after psychological evaluations - these criminals aren't typically found to demonstrate any of the indicators of depression (outside of being sad they got caught) - rather than their criminal liability due to other mental health factors - namely their impulsivity.
Lol that was kinda gansta when the cop who was shot at put his gun to the suspect’s head to finally stop the madness. He showed enormous restraint to not shoot after having like 15 bullets whiz by him and not knowing if the suspect still had a loaded gun, all while the suspect kept saying he was trying to reach for a gun… sheesh, crazy situation

@@bradskis81 may be true, but hey, no officer has to live with the fact that they had to resort to killing a man, and then they are burdened with it for the rest of their lives, it’s really a complicated situation if you ask me- but maybe people who are like “fck 12” will be at peace knowing that these officers didn’t kill someone
5:48 DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A MUZZLE STANDOFF. About half of the glocks i've used will NOT go back into battery after the muzzle has been pressed 2 or 3 mm back. i used to use a cheap holster in competitions that would sometimes press on the muzzle if i squated down a certain way, and then later i'd go to shoot and NOTHING. The glock design is pretty sensitive about being out of battery and it takes barely any movement to keep the gun from firing. I totally understand why the cop did what he did here, but if he trains to do this or just lost his cool, a muzzle standoff is designed to allow this type of move. If the suspect had freaked out and pulled another gun out of his ass, there is a good chance the cop's gun wouldn't fire from being pressed too hard into the suspect's head as a side note, the PD where i live has fleeing felon laws. if a cop witnesses a person commit a certain level of felony (i forget the specifics) and then they suspect flees away from the cop, the cop can use lethal force depending on the context. the intention is to allow for lethal force in a situation where a suspect is moving from one area to another and has already committed a felony in the first area, and appears to commit another felony in the next area. without the law, the cop would basically just have to wait for the suspect to commit the second felony before lethal force is back on the table. in this clip, the cop could have just smoked the guy in my city without really any recourse (which is actually kind of freaky). It's happens way less these days now that use of force reports are more involved and closely monitored. i'm not sure how i feel about shooting a suspect in the back as they run away, but every situation is different
The fact that you think "fleeing felon laws" vary from agency to agency tells me you aren't educated enough to be giving your opinion on this subject to begin with.
If he brought his firearm with him when he ran from the car, then yes they can fire on him as he is running away as he presents a clear immediate danger to the public after having attempted to kill at least 2 police officers. I think he left it in the car, but I'm couldn't tell if the officers knew that or not. (Kind of interesting in hind sight since he started doing suicide by cop, if he wanted them to shoot him, why not bring the firearm?) But you couldn't for example, shoot someone in the back because they burglarized a house, even if it's a felony. Tennessee v Garner.
@@singemfrc But the officers cannot know what other weapons he has on him as he flees. The perp has already shown the willingness to attempt murder with two separate weapons (first the car by crushing an officer against their patrol car, then multiple deliberate shots from a handgun), it is reasonable to assume that whether he has a weapon on him or not, he will seek to arm himself and attack officers and the public. In that situation, it is prudent to assume the perp is still armed. It was perfectly justifiable to magdump into him as he tried to run after the feigned surrender.
First of all, the PD does not make the laws. That is done by a legislative body and the PD only follows those laws. Second, most laws regarding shooting a fleeing criminal do not require that the criminal have a gun. The only requirement is that they present a significant danger. This guy tried to kill police officers at least twice (hitting one with his car and shooting at another). So when he ran from his car, shooting him would be justified. IMHO - YMMV
Lovin' the channel bro! I'm from the UK so I can't really say the phrase 'thanks for your service' but I admire what you did for your community by joining the police :) I really like your content but I was wondering, do you ever show videos of cases when the police do the wrong thing?

Why didn't the officers try talking to him instead of aggressively attacking him in militant clothing?? They could have called in a social worker to the store to chat with him 😏
I live fairly close to this area. There are certain apartment complexes that are notorious for "Crazy Nighttime Competitions" between the Cops and "innocent people" . That was definitely one of them lol Btw that dude deserves a huge 5 on 1 street justice ass whoopin for all that.
Sometimes I wonder what it feels like to be a criminal. Like running from the cops and stuff and seeing the helicopter above with its spotlight looking for you or something. IDK I wonder whats going on in the criminals head.
I get a little freaked out when I'm doing 5 miles over the speed limit and I see a cop car 😄 I can't imagine what being a fugitive would do to my nerves.
You should do a video about the situation I just read about. It's about a mental health call where the cop tases the person having a mental health issue and the dude dies. But all the articles start with things like "Taser-wielding Officer", if you read the article it explains the dude is 6'2 and 280 pounds and after several minutes of trying to calm him down for medics he rushes towards an officer who of course tases him which doesn't work. They get him into cuffs for medics and at that point he stops responding. They really love to paint the officer to look like a crazed murderer
Every kid I knew personally growing up that went this route, they really had no reason to. They had the same opportunity I did and better grades usually. Go to college to learn how to rip people off and you get a fat check to do it too

I think this is the first shooting breakdown you've done about my city! Dallas PD has been doing a great job lowering the crime rate in the last couple of years.
Dallas police are a bunch of degenerates themselves.
Reducing crime? Idk wtf you’re talking about. I live in Dallas. Shit keeps getting worse and worse.
Patrol does the best the can with the resources they have, but being 600 officers short doesn't help.
Have they though? I moved out of Dallas a couple years ago but I lived where Richardson met Dallas and garland. I heard shooting every night, multiple times. It’s a lot less here in Irving, but the cops are also way more staffed
I was there in '06 and had a good chat with a few officers. Seemed like a good bunch and happy to chat shop with a Brit on holiday. Nice city too.
@Aryan Toon because my parents moved me here when I was 5 and I don’t have the money to move yet? And being multicultural is beneficial?
Now let's hope the woke DA charges attempted murder and not just assault. Glad the cops are okay.
I think they should have sent a social worker to talk it out
Jk 😂
What if the suspect identifies as a "Bad Day"? Then what?
Well he's white so of course they will. They'll probably push for the death penalty.
Yeah, when the cop was shot its attempted murder when the cop was not shot its assault but the suspect intended to kill the officer, america is crazy
@@captainlevonn9318 But if the cop isn't actually shot, won't that mean it would be an "attempted" assault charge? In my opinion, if you're unloading 14 rounds at cops, you are actively trying to kill them. They should always be charged with attempted murder.
So we have a situation where 38 shots in total were exchanged with no on being hit. And yet, supposedly, "No one needs more than 7 shots."
Yeah exactly. It's almost like having to shoot through glass does weird things to bullets. Who'd have known?
Only 3 if you're not a cop. Remember that.
@@elmerthefudd9960 Putting as many rounds downrange is probably for the better if you want to live.
@@EyebrowsMahoney well said. dude doesn't want to face the consequences of his actions.
@@Vizaru no wonder in the us
@engineer gaming Correct.

I didn’t notice the cop tripping over the bush at 5:43 😂😂😂
5:48 DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT A MUZZLE STANDOFF. If the suspect had freaked out and pulled another gun out of his ass, there is a good chance the cop's gun wouldn't fire from being pressed too hard into the suspect's head
as a side note, the PD where i live has fleeing felon laws. if a cop witnesses a person commit a certain level of felony (i forget the specifics) and then they suspect flees away from the cop, the cop can use lethal force depending on the context. the intention is to allow for lethal force in a situation where a suspect is moving from one area to another and has already committed a felony in the first area, and appears to commit another felony in the next area. without the law, the cop would basically just have to wait for the suspect to commit the second felony before lethal force is back on the table. in this clip, the cop could have just smoked the guy in my city without really any recourse (which is actually kind of freaky).
(Kind of interesting in hind sight since he started doing suicide by cop, if he wanted them to shoot him, why not bring the firearm?)
But you couldn't for example, shoot someone in the back because they burglarized a house, even if it's a felony.
IMHO - YMMV
After he shot at them I can understand them shooting him in the back. He already rammed them, shot at them and so on.
