Again, how the hell can someone downvote this video? What is wrong with people? He's explaining how an AEG works. As far as I can tell, he presented a difficult (and frankly tedious) topic in an easy-to-digest format. Good work!

Before we can kick off with anything else, it's time to talk the total basics.. We've done what to expect at a game, so how does the gun work? (with some slight fail near the start.. yeah, stumbling over words is a thing!)

I love techy things, and while I could guess what was going on inside it is always quite interesting to actually see the insides and how they fit together.
This is probably just a matter of personal viewing preference, but in case you are looking for some constructive criticism, I think that the fact that the close up you cut in didn't match up with what you were talking about / doing in the non-closeup part made that part seem slightly disorganised. I loved the closeup, but maybe it would have been better to have it as a quick cut-to where you reiterate how it works before returning to what you were discussing (or alternatively if it were just a closeup of the things on the screen)?
I was impressed that you managed to do it all in one go :)

@@w4stedspace 2 years ago it was these very videos I first watched before my 1st ever game day as a rental down the local woodland. I've since had an absolute blast of a time to this point and loved every second of every site I've visited, love the community, me and my friends and brother who I started with still going strong (albeit some of them inconsistently!). I came back to reminisce via the vicarious medium of these videos, and I just remember feeling exactly like you did through your starting with a CM16 raider element of series. Hell, I waited after my rental days and saved up to buy a GC16 Predator for my first RIF (mainly because the rental guns at the local site I started at _were_ CM16 raiders, so I felt I just wanted to step it up a notch but not stray too far) because of this series. I point those who start off who I know to this playlist because a lot of it still holds true X many years down the line now. You did good, and you should be really proud of this and what it's done for likely thousands of players at this point. I look forward to move vids in the future - and hope to see you on the field and buy you a burger sometime.

Working on some more ideas now for this year as I'd love to continue this playlist but wanna make sure the new videos are the 'right' sort also, good advice and hopefully on topics that people actually care about.
Thanks for the kind words, it's not hard to get motivated to do more when people are saying things like that :)

Me, about to use this knowledge to make a Halo M7S from Halo 3 ODST:
It’s got a mag on the side, so the assembly is awkward - or at least, so you would think. Really, I’m just going to use every other battery cover’s strategy: notches and studs in the front of the mag holder and magazine respectively with an easy release mechanism on the grip. I’ve got it all figured out in my mind, but the main issue with my plan is that I don’t have the parts or money to build it.

Can you make an advanced guide on understanding how an AEG works and the names of all the parts?

Great video, easy to understand. The only thing I noticed was the editing issue at 0:33, other than that it was really helpful.

Well, once I have what it takes to actually make custom airsoft guns, this will really help.

So there would be some delay between pulling the trigger and the airsoft BB being shot?

    • @w4stedspace
      @w4stedspace  5 років тому +1

Depends a little, in a 'normal' AEG, yes there is - the time it takes for the piston to pull back and then release delays the shot.
It's possible to fit one with a electronic fire control system and trigger, and some of these do something called pre-cocking, where instead of the piston stopping at the front where the sector hear runs out of teeth - it continues to cycle until the piston is ready to release.
Puts more wear and force on components, but it's how you get the instant-fire in airsoft outside of bolt actions (and also why most snipers are bolt action - the delay in firing would be really detrimental there)

Great video! Can you do the same skeleton video, but with details that breakdown the internal upgrades? Gears, piston, R hop up, etc.

Why would they design it to do all those operations post trigger-pull? Trigger-pull should release the spring - that's it. After the shot, mechanism can whiz, whir and rewind the spring? Great vid. Let other commenters produce their own vids, if they don't like script or editing?
