First gun I bought was a classic g&g combat machine. Had it stock and used for years before it finally gave out. A year later I decided to try a drop in gear box with a mosfet instead of buying a brand new gun and idk if I can ever go back to buying stock guns. I also put in a new motor and battery around the same time and almost immediately had a brand new, more upgraded gun, for the same price I paid for it stock. I haven't had it chronod but it's definitely a beast compared to anything stock. All I have left is to put a nicer barrels and hop up with flat hop or r hop as well. I have a bunch of parts from a much older g&g I found in the trash I plan to turn into another gun as well (: someday I'll dig into a gear box. Seems next level though.
I’ve bought 7 airsoft guns in the last 3 years, 4 of them coming from evike. A little while back, I discovered the god tier barrel deal of the century that is the Prometheus “BC Bright” brass 6.05 barrel along with either a mad bull blue or red bucking (depending on your FPS) that now comes with an H spacer. I used to use the angel customs H spacer but no longer have to do that since mad bull includes the spacer now. Both the barrel and bucking are very affordable. The last 2 barrels I’ve bought have been 455mm, one for an Arcturus AK I scored for a deal on eBay and I just ordered one for my LCT HK33 Too. These are going for the $25 mark right now. At 6.05mm, it’s not a tight, but the range I get from these is insane and the madbull bucking is a great long lasting affordable bucking too. Discovered them at a game a few years ago when I shredded the tru-hop I had in my E&L AK and I’ve never gone back to flat hops since because I haven’t felt the need to. I had an LCT AS VAL and I used the have countless people ask me what all I had done to it and no one wanted believe that I had less than $40 into it. I cannot recommend these two mods enough. Dual Sector Gear. The Sector gear is the gear that pulls the piston back and releases it. It normally has teeth on one side and no teeth on the other. A DSG is double sided, so each half turn cycles the piston instead of a full turn. Of course, the other components need to be tuned for this to work properly, but you end up with a very snappy response and a high rate of fire. It’s pretty impressive when it’s all put together.
Thank you. Being very new to this sport, i found your video very informative. Question. If I purchase a high-end AEG how would I know if a particular hopup would be beneficial or even improve what I already have.
Depends on the hop-up itself and what you are trying to achieve, you can email our techs, and they will help you by giving you recommendations: tech@evike.com
For me personally the #1 most important one is a mosfet. Also with a mosfet comes deans. If you decide to rewire your gun at all use deans. No reason not to. If you need the adapter but the battery goes in the dust cover of your AK you can make one and have a short as you want. You just need enough wire for the Tamiya plug to fit on one one end and the other just means a couple of inches to accommodate the part that you're going to strip off for your deans. What's the mosfets in you can use 11.1 lipos.
Just make sure that if people buy this and have feeding issues, they should check the stock nozzle length. When I put this in my stock rifles, I had issues. The minute I switched to a better fitting nozzle (shorter) feeding was 100% with no issues.
Just an FYI, higher octane doesn’t give you more power by itself, it just allows higher compression before detonation. So if you put race fuel in a Corolla, you might even have less power. But if you put 87 in a Supra running on 35 pounds of boost, you’re going to have nothing but misfires and knocking. If you put the race fuel in the Supra, it won’t detonate before the spark due to high compression. Shit they don’t teach you in school, so many people put “premium gas” in a regular car, and these days you can pretty much put 87 in most stock base model turbo cars like the mustang, but you won’t get as much power
Please note that if you get an aftermarket hop unit, you may also need to change your air nozzle length for reliable feeding and consistent hopping. MAXX units are notorious for needing much shorter air nozzles than stock which is why many people have issues with them.
Replacing your hop unit and barrel is almost always a waste in a modern airsoft gun. As long as your hop up unit is not clear plastic and your barrel is brass, most likely you're good. MAPLE LEAF SUPER MACARON 60 DEGREE + MAPLE LEAF OMEGA FLAT NUB/TENSIONER IS ALL YOU NEED. $25 and you'll be shooting lasers on .28-.32g BBs. Also, lithium ion batteries are pretty garbage for anything other than bone stock AEGs. Stronger motors, lower ratio gears, and stiffer springs will strain those batteries like crazy. Turnigy nano-tech batteries should be the gold standard for airsoft batteries right now. Better batteries are hard to find or wont fit in most AEGs, but the ones that do will hopefully be more available as time goes on.
I’m not sure if you have done already, if not! Will do make a video how to do upgrade for guns? Would be easier to understand how to upgrade to Avoid paying a lot to someone else to do.
In general, yes! Also, using higher-ratio gears can make pulling that stiffer spring easier for your motor, at the cost of RPS (generally). When in doubt, ask us and our tech team can provide advice/assistance. support@evike.com (626) 286-0360 7:00am to 5:00pm PST Monday through Friday
Just did my first teching lol, bought a 60 maple leaf macron and the red ace ak hop up unit, my barrel was stock 6.03mm so I didn’t feel the need to change it. Cleaned it good with 99% alcohol. Originally I was shooting 270s with .28s. My ak has a quick change spring but I didn’t change it yet. I have an m120 to go in it and I’m excited to see how it’s doing then
Fun fact, a warranty is a contract and most states make it unlawful for companies to void that contract because of unauthorized or non-trained mechanics working on products or parts. Likewise, using aftermarket parts cannot void warranties. They must prove that the work or part was the cause of a failure which only then voids the warrant only in part. Meaning it applies only to that broken part as long as the unauthorized part is installed and causing a failure. Voiding a warranty - on say, the motor because an aftermarket trigger group was installed - which may or may not actually cause the motor to go bad is a no go for most states. You can avoid the whole issue by keeping your factory parts and swapping before sending them in. Of course don’t be a snake about it. Check your local laws and assert your right to repair and modify. Regardless, thanks for the I formative video.
First thing with a new AEG/any airsoft gun is to take apart the barrel and hop unit to give it a really thorough clean. Nothing causes inconsistency like factory grease. Then, really its worth playing and making a mental note of what you think is lacking. Generally though. Iv had a lot of success with Lonex hop chambers, prommy purple bucking, bic biro nub and madbull stainless barrels. As soon as I can get out and play again ill be giving the maple leaf Mr Hop a go.
Man I should start charging a small fee toall of the kids around me wanting me to install parts I tell them to get. I have had my hands in so many CM and EF M4 AEGs of late that I can probably put one back together in my sleep. Started out soft modding Nerf blasters to seal better maximize airflow and a neighbors kid blabbed at his school about it and it just snow balled into airsoft after 4 years. Thanks for pointing some more stuff I can tell the kiddos to get if they want better accuracy. I know how to make more power using seals and making gears work smother and tighter but I had no clue accuracy could be bad with certain barrels.
Also all fuel has a coefficense of flamability to it. Anytime you has a race gas = speed as long as such car is light anough. Strictly speaking more octanes equals the higher the power esp if equipped with power bands similar too a banchee quad or atv
If you implement tighter constriction on the chamber do to better surfaces you WILL have better rtf scientifically speaking in theory. Entropy is also due to bad fitment. So therefore it makes sense rather than expensive cost of paying sum one else that charges a high dollar value to do mods pre fessionally
Batteries, yes!!! Nothing has outperformed my Venom Drone and RC series batteries with deans connections, including the Titan batteries that stores have tried to pitch. Only bad part is you have to go to a standard hobby store since airsoft retailers really don't carry them for some reason.

Personally the only thing I upgrade is hop up rubber, I use g&g green or maple leaf rubbers. That being said I have just started a project gun (cyma AK74u) where I want to upgrade barrel, 13:1 gears, spring, motor, add a mosfet ect....
actually the hop up camera is one of the last things to change. There is around 1% chance that as a novice you will change it and it will work better than the stock one . You can break your gun as well. Also this kind of expensive barrels won't give an improvement equal to the price difference. If you got 6.03 stock barrel it is pretty good for beginning. Most AEGs lose compression in the cylinder, so first things to change are piston and cylinder heads.
Sent an e-mail to evike asking about some tips about upgrade parts on my AEG LCT ZKS-74UN - in particular barrel, hop-up chamber and buckings. And in the video it states like Evike could really help you choose the parts, but never got any answer.

I'm just getting into airsoft and am gonna get a MAS Marauder and replace the hop up with a Maxx Me and a new bucking. Think that will be a good starter setup?
1st: Bucking 2nd: barrel 3rd: motor 4th: chamber Several stock chambers work for perfectly fine. unless yours has a bad seal, unadjustability then don’t swap it. *Edit: I installed a maxx hop up in my kwa and it made little difference. Maxx hop ups work best with r-hop (which I have) for the price of these cnc hop up chambers the change isn’t really worth it.
A MOSFET requires the gearbox to be opened on version 2 to protect trigger contacts. In line with no signal wires installed provides zero contact protection or response increase.
Some units function without changing the switch to a gate circuit. Instead of making a separate circuit with a smaller current going through they momentarily drop the current enough so that there is no spark across the switch and then immediately transmit the full voltage.
@@evikecom I would be skeptical. While I agree that some units do provide some functions in line such as burst. Current is at its greatest when the motor starts up, not sure how this would be prevented by dropping the current as this would prevent motor start up. That current will still be drawn through a standard contact.

I would stay away from maxx hop ups, although they are precise and consistent, they require different nozzle and even with maxx nozzle they scratch the inside of the unit. I found paint residue inside the cylinder and inside the barrel. They are great when they work but its not easy to get it to work if you get what i mean. They hop very good and consistently and with the right adjustments the bb goes very far and accurately
The biggest problem with buying an AEG or any airsoft gun nowadays they never shoot straight even if they're $300 price tag and they always have an issue with feeding unless you spend money on $40 mid cap mag which only holds about 90 to 100 rounds if you're lucky I literally bought a Tommy gun AEG for around $90 on Amazon it shot perfectly straight and it's half up did perfectly straight too up and down not to the side or to the right or to the left so that's your best bet the price doesn't affect anything except for maybe the durability

I didn’t know airsoft guns used gasoline 😮
Please note that if you get an aftermarket hop unit, you may also need to change your air nozzle length for reliable feeding and consistent hopping.
MAXX units are notorious for needing much shorter air nozzles than stock which is why many people have issues with them.
T.N.T. and DaVinci Akaishi barrells are excellent too, and they also offer 7mm sized hop windows for larger hop patch sizes for use with heavier bbs.
id add a titan lion, really great product
highly recommend
Those are absolutely overpriced trash compared to a quality lipo.
Stronger springs need stronger motors btw
In general, yes! Also, using higher-ratio gears can make pulling that stiffer spring easier for your motor, at the cost of RPS (generally). When in doubt, ask us and our tech team can provide advice/assistance.

Hi Matt, I own a KWA vm4a1 rifle and love it, could you do a post on KWA upgrades ? I've heard it's limited...
Thanks
It would be helpful if you guys could do a tutorial how to install every part included in this video
Please contact tech@evike.com for assistants with parts and installation.
Lambada barrels have sharp cuts in the bucking window that chop buckings to pieces.
This video just made me realize this is the same as upgrading RC. Hobby grade might I ad. I was that guy before airsoft
You should do a Top 10 Tactical Gear Upgrades
definitely
along side the AEG upgrades, you guys should upgrade your video graphics. I'm getting, at least, a 15yr old vibe.
So therefore it makes sense rather than expensive cost of paying sum one else that charges a high dollar value to do mods pre
fessionally
Batteries, yes!!! Nothing has outperformed my Venom Drone and RC series batteries with deans connections, including the Titan batteries that stores have tried to pitch. Only bad part is you have to go to a standard hobby store since airsoft retailers really don't carry them for some reason.
hah, happy to make a head to head comparison with Titan Batteries.

Well here’s the opening to the rabbit hole!!! Got my son a used G&G CM and it’s tired! Only 200 FPS with .25’s. All this I plan to do. Will probably call the tech line but there’s local folks here too to get help from. Not sure if this is still closely monitored but if anyone could chime in on well recommended set of parts that does the job well for the G&G CM that would be greatly appreciated!
Hello! Thanks for asking! We recommend that you contact tech@evike.com for assistance.
That said, here's some help to get you started:
New G&G Bucking (old one is probably worn out) - www.evike.com/products/36022/

My bucking might be inside out 🤣🤣🤣
My first upgrade to my AEG was a polarstar fusion engine 😅

I'm just getting into airsoft and am gonna get a MAS Marauder and replace the hop up with a Maxx Me and a new bucking. Think that will be a good starter setup?
1st: Bucking
2nd: barrel
3rd: motor
4th: chamber
Several stock chambers work for perfectly fine. unless yours has a bad seal, unadjustability then don’t swap it.
*Edit: I installed a maxx hop up in my kwa and it made little difference. Maxx hop ups work best with r-hop (which I have) for the price of these cnc hop up chambers the change isn’t really worth it.
The max hop up are abit ify. They are picky with mags most people use mid caps for those hi caps seem to feed fast or double feed the chamber.
Thank you Evike Matt

I would stay away from maxx hop ups, although they are precise and consistent, they require different nozzle and even with maxx nozzle they scratch the inside of the unit. I found paint residue inside the cylinder and inside the barrel. They are great when they work but its not easy to get it to work if you get what i mean. They hop very good and consistently and with the right adjustments the bb goes very far and accurately
I’d like Evike to bring in the VFC Knights Armament SR-16E3 GBB,and M110 SASS GBB.
Ok so for the hop chamber you said an M4 won’t work with an Ak and vice versa, what would I get for the AR-47? Or would that be it’s own category?
Good question! Yes the AR-47 has a unique hopup - www.evike.com/products/52593/
MOSFET: GATE, JeffTron, Perun
The biggest problem with buying an AEG or any airsoft gun nowadays they never shoot straight even if they're $300 price tag and they always have an issue with feeding unless you spend money on $40 mid cap mag which only holds about 90 to 100 rounds if you're lucky I literally bought a Tommy gun AEG for around $90 on Amazon it shot perfectly straight and it's half up did perfectly straight too up and down not to the side or to the right or to the left so that's your best bet the price doesn't affect anything except for maybe the durability
Matt is so clever.

I'm glad I made my decision to upgrade my AEG with a MOSFET, however, the MOSFET I'm getting, is not the one u mentioned, the MOSFET I'm getting is the MOSFET titan gate which I'm hoping is a good MOSFET.
The GATE Titan is an amazing MOSFET! We mention it in PART 2 - ua-cam.com/video/jDS2kpWaBXA/v-deo.html&t
