- Hood Dent Repair - I had a small dent repair on the hood of a new Toyota 4Runner that I took out with paintless dent removal.

My customer came all the way from Albertville MN to my dent repair shop in Blaine MN to have the dent repair in the hood removed while he waited.
With the cold weather, snow, and ice that we have in Minnesota, we often can see damage to cars. The dent in the hood was caused by a piece of ice falling on it.
My customer had said that he came out to his vehicle and saw a piece of ice laying on the ground in front of his truck. When he saw the dent in the hood, he said he thought the ice must have fallen from the roof and hit the edge of the hood.
This hood dent repair video will show how I was able to use paintless dent removal to fix this dent.
First I started with some glue pulling of the dent to help “soften” the damage. The glue pull method was only used to start because it helps limit the amount of pushing the dent out from under the panel. When the damage has limited access and I will only be able to use a smaller PDR tool, it can cause many small push marks and make the repairs take longer.
I then moved to a small paintless dent repair tool, from under the hood, using one of the small holes to slowly and lightly push out the rest of the dent until I had an excellent finished repair.
Once I was done with the paintless dent repair of the hood dent, I only needed to buff and polish out the minor scuffs to the surface.

how much would that repair cost
The average cost for a similar dent would be around $150-$250 for paintless dent repair.
Many factors can effect the cost. Size, location, depth, area of panel including if it’s on a body line.

I’m so mad. I’m sitting in my car in a parking lot and looking at my phone before I head out to shop. All of a sudden BOOM I hear. I literally jumped and look in front and look behind me and see no car because it was THAT loud. Some meathead cart boy decided to throw his water bottle out 20 feet away to a garbage that’s next to my 2020 white pearl flawless Toyota Corolla and scuff the roof and dents my hood ( must of been the hard cap and the force of it coming down ). I wasn’t happy and even though it was an accident, the kid should realize how dumb that was and is lucky I’m a Christian. Anyway I handled it with management and basically have to wait til corporate calls me and they will pay for the repairs.
hopefully you'll be able to have paintless dent removal get the damage out and just some minor buffing for the scuffs/scratches.

These dudes NEVER show how to do it from the underside the most important. WE ALL KNOW how the dents come out from the outside.
HaHa!! There is nothing you’ll see from the underside of this repair. The front edge of the hood is enclosed and the only access was a very small hole where a small tool was used to push out the dent. You can see in the video where tape was used to protect the edges of the hole.
Besides, the most important part of doing paintless dent repair is from the top of the panel. Professionals are first trained to be able to see their PDR tool from the top using PDR lights. This is because when repairing most dents you’ll never see the back of the panel.
But, if you really want to see, what’s NEVER shown, happening on the back side, then you can see these videos.

Yes I understand but a quick glimpse or explination of how U gained entry, how u got the tool under the glued brace if it is under one, the struggles of getting under the brace and how u overcame it, showing and explaining what techniques you as a professional employed to work around those obstacles that are hidden from the outside perspective. I dont know about you but I like to learn from masters like you so I can get better and im sure other PDR specialists watching this would like to also. You do amazing work by the way. Not hating just saying this art is not exactly common sense to those of us that havent been in the game as long as you.
