  • How To Repair A Dent With Hot Glue?
Watch me repair this medium sized bodyline dent with the Glue Repair System (GPR) from the estimating stage, tool choice and the way I tackle the repair from start to finish. No hiding anything I explain the procedure so that YOU can easily watch the PDR process unfold
This dent was accessible from inside if the fuel filler assembly and light where removed, but our customer opted for the GPR method as it was cost effective.

To all the viewers asking about "How much was the job" and "you are a rip off" and " id never pay that for a pdr"
The price for this repair was around £300+ and all this money doesn't just go into my pocket to buy burgers & beer with! we have a business to run and many outgoings such as wages, PAYE insurances, rent, gas and electric, tools, stock, fuel, taxes, vat etc the list of all the bills we need to pay to operate goes on and THEN hopefully... make a bit of a PROFIT at the end of it! there are techs who'd do a repair like this for 50-100 and spend it on beer. Our business isn't for everyone but we really appreciate the support from out past clients and the support from people who see the value we bring to the table
***Please note the estimate given on the video is based on the facts of the repair, this was NOT the price we charged but would be accepted and paid by the insurance if a claim was put in
I hope you can take away some information from this if your a new dent technician or really interested in the job.
If your a potential customer looking for an accountable technician then I hope you are happy with how we operate, you can see our many repairs and this will give you the peace of mind when booking your repair in. We repair many customers vehicles up and down the country, we are in Beverley and we set aside all the time in the world and look after you if you travel to us.
Paintless Dent Removal or PDR is a method of removing minor dings and dents from the vehicle bodywork without the need for filler and paintwork. This is a highly skilled process in which the dent(s) is massaged from the rear of the panel or sometimes from the front using glue pulling methods.

The best craftsman I’ve ever seen on you tube. 99% of workers would have been done half way through and told the customer “that’s the best I can do at that price. If you want it better, it will be more.” But not my mate. Absolute pride in work and sheer perfection is the only standard for this fine man. Just brilliant work.

Fascinating, intelligent video. You are a mixture of an artist, mechanic and engineer to create this visual perfection in the wing. I was awestruck at the intensity of the work needed to recreate the wheel arch. Impressed is an understatement.

I started painting with my Grandfather at age 9 in the Bahamas back in 1972. I have been a professional painter home restoration contractor since 1980. I've been a pretty decent mechanic and repairman as well. Being a perfectionist myself I can easily recognize one when I see one. This is hands-down bar none the highest-quality dent repair work I have ever seen in my life. This blows my mind that somebody could have this kind of talent to where they can repair a car to this level of quality. I'm giving you a pat on the back and you need to give yourself one as well you are a true professional which is something you don't see much anymore. You fixed this dent the way I fix houses and other things, with nothing but quality in mind making it the best that it can be. It is easily as good as and probably better than the day it rolled off the factory floor. Unbelievable!! I can't say enough good about it there are no words to describe it. The level of workmanship surpasses anything I've ever seen in my life!! On a scale from 1 to 100... I can't say because I can't fit enough zeroes on the page. You really know your shit when it comes to repairing dents and doing body work. Best Ever hands down - bar none Rolls-Royce needs to hire you as their top body man.
    Best Wishes,
    Love and Light.
God Bless You and Your Family!!

Totally agree - an excellent job. This guy made it look relatively easy but as well as the specific tools he is using something you don't see which is his knowledge of exactly what to do and when to do it. He obviously has years of experience. As an ex bodywork guy retired years ago the system he used is new to me but works very well on the paper thin metal they use these days. Not to have to damage the paint is a huge advantage. That glue is fantastic !

I love to show as much detail as possible in my videos and also try to explain in normal man’s terms what I’m doing. In the hope to educate people who haven’t seen this method before, also for new technicians wanting to learn I hope That these videos help. I’d say I have good skills but I bet there’s people out there who eclipse me on repair quality!!

What is the glue u use?I am old blokeand try to repair any thing, generally find ordinary hot melt glue unsatisfactory compared to contact cement, epoxies,or super glue.I was intrigued by the video, having only heard of pointless dent removal, always thought it was done by using spoons cleverly. @@stephenandrews1965 there are glues sold specifically for this if you search “paintless dent removal” or “PDR”. What I don’t know is how different those glues are from some of the other hot melt glues available. The advantage of hot melt for this is that it does NOT form the same type of permanent bond that epoxy or superglue do. Those would tear the paint off of the car, but the PDR glues just come unstuck. If it were me, I would try it with cheaper hot melt glues first, because what do you have to lose?

    • @dentremover01
      @dentremover01  Рік тому +1

Hi Kevin, and Stephen. Apologies for the delay in replying. Glue pulling can be quick to learn but it’s the knocking down of the damage and blending it back to the original shape which takes time and skill.
The glue sticks are formulated to give a great bond, but to peel off as one, the diy sticks can go brittle quick and be a pain to remove. Also there’s other factors to take into account. Panel temp, temp or your location. cleaned surface, the time in which you leave to set and make the pull etc.
also some dents are not glue pull dents and are better repaired with bars and tools. Again experience will help.
Hot glue will pull paint off if your not careful and practice will help you figure this out.
There’s training centres in Australia, also online training like “Learn PDR online” dent trainer, real world PDR training etc
Have a search and you can practice using online help
Hope this all makes sense and helps both of you.
      Thanks Martin

I couldn’t be happier and I hope to get it to near 100% next weekend! My biggest tip for novices like me with a cheap kit is be ready for a lot of repetition and don’t give up. The rewards are well worth the effort. Cheers from Texas! 🍻
