I wish she would learn to pronounce an O as an O and not as a U. She also drops the Y from away. Apart from that, her speaking voice is not bad.

@ It's a Yorkshire accent. It is a valid form of English. Just because it isn't local to you doesn't make it wrong. There are hundreds of accepted local dialects and pronunciations within the English language. Don't be an ignorant prescriptivist.

Wait, the argument Levi gave about Milly killing herself is completely impossible, how would she had hidden all her belongings, including her clothes then gone back to that spot. Naked. And then killed herself even with no weapon on her?

I was with Millie the night before her abduction, she was one of the contestants in a talent competition run by my amateur dramatic society. My daughter also took part, singing a song from Oklahoma. Millie played her sax, beautifully. I remember chatting to her and her sister. They were talking about boys of course, and Gemma was talking about the fact that her own current boyfriend was older than her - and yet she was still underage. I spent a lot of time chatting about how dangerous boys could be at their ages, and that they should be very careful. A tragic memory.

In regards to inmate mail, I work in corrections in USA. Inmates send out a TON of mail. We spot check it but we barely have the manpower to meet state staffing laws. There simply isn't time/manpower to read HUNDREDS of letters per day.

    •  4 роки тому +1

Inmates (men and women) have their addresses and bios on many websites so people can write to them in prison. I even used to see inmates advertising for pen-pals on Craigslist. Some websites list their crimes and some don't.

Im interested in knowing, do inmates in for super serious crimes like serial killers, etc. who have a longer sentence and perhaps execution do they have the ability to send mail and if so do u HAVE to read it or is it a spot check too, cuz i would think theyd either be unable to send any mail or have heavier kind of surveillance

    • @rustyroseranch
      @rustyroseranch 3 роки тому +9

They are allowed to write legal mail no matter what (letters to lawyers, judges, the media etc). Personal mail can be restricted temporarily (up to 30 days) if found guilty of a disciplinary infraction. At county jail, we would only intensely scrutinize mail with good reason such as escape risk inmates. Otherwise we spot check. I'm sure once they're convicted and go to prison it may be different

This case is so close to home for me. Milly lived in the town next door to me and was just 2 months older than me. I remember being so scared when it was all over the news. The road that Rachel Cowles encountered Levi is just half a mile from where I lived at the time (and still live now). The friend of Milly - Danielle - is a girl I used to socialise and party with a lot in our early 20s, but I never knew about her connection to Milly so you can imagine my surprise when she appeared in this video! And to top it all off....my mum used to teach Levi Bellfield when he was at secondary school. Milly Dowler and Holly & Jessica are the two cases that haunted me when I was a young teenager. RIP girls x

The only problem, is that it happend in Israel, and i don't know if you want to do a case from another country. But this murde, that is solved and unsolved at the same time, is one of the most shocking events that happend here in Israel,. I think you should really look about it

I clicked on this video and immediately got really emotional. Normally it takes a little longer in the video for me to fully register what is happening... but then I was looking at the pictures and listening to the discription of Milly, when I thought about my older sister and how similar the two are. Then I thought about how at any given moment the things you love most can be taken away from you, and I suddenly realized that I need to be more thankful for the big and little things in life because they might not always be there. After all it only takes around 30 seconds of ignorance for something you love to be taken from you.😔

The sister’s smiling when remembering her probably because she knows there’s no point remembering Milly with tears and sorrow because that’s not going to bring her back- she’s thinking about the times she did have and letting them bring her joy. She’s felt her pain and got through it and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that

I am also from Walton-on-Thames, so this case is extremely close to home, both literally and metaphorically. I even walk by the bus stop near the railway station where poor Milly was abducted, and it gives me shivers every time I look at the stop. Growing up, my parents would talk to me about this and advise me on the dangers of walking alone in the dark.
Thank you so much for covering this case in a respectful and informative manner :)

My family and I grew up in Walton, my siblings were actually questioned by detectives about if they saw anything as they were also going past on a bus when Milly was abducted. They also took swimming lessons from Milly's mum. This case is the reason my parents made sure we always had mobile phones on us whenever we were out of the house, including at school, and the reason why to this day I walk on the side of the pavement furthest away from any bushes or trees.
I really hope she's at peace and that her family have found whatever peace they can.

Millys sisters book "My Sister Milly" is worth a read if you want to know more about what Milly was like as a girl. Sadly the chapters after she goes missing make for some very dark distressing reading. I actually had to stop for days at a time as it got so intense. I wish Levi would be killed by someone inside just to stop him causing the Dowlers continual pain with his attention seeking. Nothing but love for Bob, Sally, Gemma and Lovely Granny. Btw Gemma is only smiling in these clips because that documentary was filmed in the weeks after Levi was convicted and she was probably euphoric given that she and her mother had agreed to a joint suicide pact if he'd been found not guilty.

Deleting those voicemail messages and giving the family that glimmer of hope that maybe she was alive...that makes me just so angry

There is some justice over that. It was discovered after what they'd done that they also hacked into celebrity phones voicemail like Jude Law and Hugh Grant as well as other people. They ended up having to settle so many lawsuits that it closed the newspaper down entirely and they went out of business. Serves them right. Utter depraved invasion of privacy.
