Yup.
That's not always true. I had to call for a welfare check for someone that I met in a crisis center and became minor friends with. she texted that she was going to kill herself and then said bye and didn't answer for a while. I didn't know her last name but I knew that she had a record of it at the crisis center. I got a text from her ending our friendship because the police had shown up so sometimes they do go above and beyond.

Welcome to the high rollers club.
Oddly enough, I do believe that Daniel doesn't remember the murder itself. Shock is a heck of a drug and pre-meditated or not, killing your dad is going to shock you and he's likely repressed the memory.
Some people do have blackouts and gaps of memory after something so significant happening, a lot of emotions. It’s of course hard to really know
@@AmberWoodMusicx It's a response to trauma, which is weird to say about a murderer, but in pure clinical terms I think that's what was happening. His brain likely shut down and blocked out the memory to protect itself.
@@butterflyslinky I was gonna put traumatic actually, but sort of reconsidered but it is true!
yeah, i lost my memory when i punched someone i didn’t know well once. i can see how he could forgot about killing his dad
i think despite it being premeditated he might've dissociated as he waited for the precise moment and it would also explain why he overdid it with the violence, he was at that point disconnected from reality

This is just an observation. But why did he kill him? Why? How could you kill your parent?🥴
Bc he was dropped on his head as a baby😳
DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY but I could understand it though I have NEVER thought of it or any type of murder but I live with a father that abuses me and I am currently 13 (just turned this week) the hatred and fear you feel towards them if you have been dealing with it for a long time I can see how that could escalate to that (not saying this is what happened to him) but please don't assume everyone loves their parents. AGAIN DO NOT TAKE THIS COMMENT THE WRONG WAY
@@GetJurasskicked I like you prp! It that the guy from the INCREDIBLES? The guy who accused Jack of putting pins in his seat? Love it 😂😂
@@axanthiccrestie2460 what you’re saying is true. I know I wouldn’t murder any of my parents but it’s wrong to assume everyone loves their parents.
@@axanthiccrestie2460 Do you need help?
hi! forensics graduate here: those aren’t hazardous material suits, they’re fullbody protective equipment that forensic agents are REQUIRED to wear any time they’re on a crime scene to prevent them from contaminating the crime scene with their own dna. any fallen hair, skin flakes, substances from their clothes etc is could potentially contaminate evidence and render it inadmissible in court.
anyone thoroughly searching the scene is required to wear this fullbody uniform but almost no one knows about it (asides from investigators of course) because you almost never see people on crime dramas- they paid a lot for those faces, they’re not gonna keep them constantly covered up lol
*me copying Eleanor's intro*

I love how she explains everything. I ve been watching her for the past year, and I never get bored of her videos.
Hope she gets bigger
I watch you all the time because you help with criminology. And today in class the teacher put a video of yours on and i was lowkey buzzing
you should so do a podcast! I’d love to listen to it whilst doing other things like emails and lecture notes but obviously i can’t do both at the same time on youtube. You should deffo consider a podcast!!! x
"glasgow, in scotland, pretty much the highest north you can get"
glasgow is further south than edinburgh lmao
I think she meant Scotland is the highest you can get, not Glasgow specifically
Shetlanders sat there like 👀
@@lawabidingnctzen404 no, they’re not. Aberdeen is still very south when you take places like Wick and Fort William into account. Not to mention the Shetland and Orkney isles.
God knows where I live then if Glasgow is the highest north you can get I must be in Iceland ha
I was waiting for someone to point this out. She’s so sweet tho
we’re being spoilt with all these uploads🥰
The moral of these stories: don’t live in a small, tightnit town 😂
Mackworth is nothing like how it was described :D
Not the worst place to live but more than a little rough. I'd give it a 4.5/10 place to live in derby.
i like the fact that i can see all this horrific stories without actually being horrified. i mean not that those arent sad or terrible stories, but the fact she makes it so easy to listen to, its very helpful.
Did I JUST finished Eleanor's last 2 videos? Yes. Will I watch this one right away ? YES! I'll probably regret tomorrow when I have nothing to watch anymore? Probably but that's a problem for another day 😂
YES SAME! whats ur favourite one!!? i need to rewatch some...
i’m gonna be honest, her posting made my day even better. the past few days/week have been really great, which is pretty uncommon for me. i’ve been more positive about things, i’m guessing that’s what has made the recent days better.
I’m so glad things have been going well for you, Courtney (:
the time and effort she puts into these videos is amazing. And also the respect she has for everyone Eleanor we love you💗
Haven’t binged watched you in 2 years !! Congrats on 1m still love love your true crime stories
Eleanor: some people just snap.
Me: that makes it more scary..
First mashed potatoes, now Chinese takeout? I'm so hungry 😭
I LOVE how you talk about the people as if you knew them, it really helps the story telling
"SO todaes videoh is gonna be.." never gets old
i love the videos but her accent angers me
@@pai7771 Why?
@@Bigtiddiegof666 i dont know, certain small noises/small actions trigger my anger and some things cause me to anxiety/anger tic, its really weird and annoying to deal with
@@pai7771 I don’t know why I find that so interesting, you intrigue me stranger on UA-cam. I hope you do well in life shorty.
@@Bigtiddiegof666 more info in it; there also some normal ones like chewing, water dripping, the sound of quiet footsteps and thinks like tapping that make something in my body react for some reason and it triggers “tics” like jerking my head back or forward or uncontrollably randomly hitting my head
Am i now worried to go to my local Chinese takeaway now? Yes
Is it gonna stop me getting my Chinese? Absolutely not
LMAO 💀😭
Any respectable Chinese takeaway will deliver 🔪 💀
I read a BBC article about this just now, the other son was called Ben
Ive really just spent time watching this video peacefully while playing a game thinking how horrific this case was and then to shock realise this man traveled to a city i liVe in. Eleanor knows how to surprise us every time
It was definitely jealousy towards his dad and his brother he might thought his dad loved more his brother
I was actually just thinking about ordering Chinese Food. 😬
I've never ordered Chinese takeout and I was thinking about doing it for the first time today, but after watching this.. I'll just wait for the impulsivity to leave me lol
Big oof to you my friend
I literally did before I saw this video! I am still alive obviously but the delivery guy was legit creepy so yeah... a bit nervous now : /
Hi Eleanor, I don’t know if you’ll see this but I have a case suggestion regarding a 1950’s Scottish serial killer Peter Manuel (aka The Beast of Birkenshaw).
When my grandad was 4 or 5 he was staying at his Nan’s house with his sister and his father (I don’t know if his mother was there but that’s not important.) My grandad’s sister was walking along the landing when she suddenly stopped. Her father told her to get to bed and she said that she couldn’t because there was a man in the way. They soon discovered the man was Peter Manuel, a serial killer from New York but moved to Motherwell, Scotland. As soon as her father heard this, he rushed out of his room and Manuel was gone, leaving through the front door.
That was his “thing”, breaking into people’s houses to unnerve them.
Also, my grandad ended up working with the woman who used to live next to him.
Sorry this was a long story but I waffle a lot lol
me reading this while living in motherwell 👁👄👁
That documentary about South Africa has convinced me to get Magellan TV!! I love my country and there are hardly any good documentaries about it, especially true crime and I love the spooky/terrifying element of learning about the crimes that happened around you
There are a few great South African true crime podcasts. Listen to True Crime South Africa and It Happened Here!
Your hand gestures flipping your hair when you get excited are so cute and I love your accent! Thank you for telling these you are very good at it 😊
