What I think about Diavolo's death is that it was perfect irony against his motives. Diavolo was the kind of man who only cared for the results, "as the result is the only thing that lives in infamy." Giorno essential took that and denied Diavolo the ability to ever reach the results, putting him in a hell specially designed for him.
And that fits in with how all (or at least most) Jojo villains have ironic death/defeats Kars:getting to live forever but can’t ever use the power he got DIO: essentially getting defeated by the stand he viewed as invincible Kira: not being noticed when he got ran over like he tried to do his entire life not being noticed and also HANDS
@@thatbluegamet Kars wanted to be able to live without the subjugation of the sun, and ended up orbiting around it. Dio wanted to become powerful by abusing the Joestar fortune and even blood, yet in the end his own power was taken from him by a Joestar teen, no older than he was when he became a vampire, and that has no such grandiose aspirations but a simple sense of justice Kira has hidden himself for so long from the police and done so much to live a quiet life, yet an institution that usually helps people instead of murdering them accidentally ended him and he got to live an anonymous death since they didn't recognize his body. Also he was dragged to hell by his own fetish.
This could be also interpreted in another manner. Since Diavolo only cared about the "results". He did technically succeed in their acquisition. He really did get to live forever, and he will outlive every original universe JoJo character. However... It just so happens that the means to living forever is a constant death loop.
King Crimson being Doppio's stand is so interesting since he keep experiencing misfortune so he have this deep desire to earse it, but due to Diavolo in control he can never use it and be satified, furthermore Doppio becomes a energy source for King Crimson's insane power
@@loserdiavolo6251 oops that reply was directed towards the original comment, I didn’t notice your reply to the OG comment till just now. In regards to what you were saying though about the stand eye color though, that’s something I’ll have to go back and look at because I never really payed attention to the stand’s eye color. If the eye color of a stand is truly indicative of the user, I feel like that as a concept opens up a lot of interesting ideas. Like what would that mean for someone like Giorno, who’s stand was able to see beyond time. Or even what would that mean for Diavolo and Doppio as Doppio’s eyes sometimes change green, even when Diavolo doesn’t take over the body. Some pretty fun things to think and speculate about
I think something that's interesting is Diavolo's soul isn't shown as his body but instead is shown as King Crimson. We clearly see that Doppio's soul is Doppio. I wonder if this means that Diavolo doesn't view himself as Diavolo but instead only sees himself as King Crimson. Perhaps when Doppio was younger his split personality disorder was much more realistic but once he received a stand it became the exaggerated full body swapping that we see in part 5. That would explain Doppio's inability to use all of KC because in reality KC is almost a completely separate being and is truly letting itself be used by him. In truth KC/Diavolo may just puppet around Doppio's body similar to how Bruno puppeted around his own body after dying. King Crimson being a part of Doppio and Diavolo being part of King Crimson is similar to how Epitaph is a part of King Crimson which is a part of Doppio. If a stand can have sub stands then why couldn't a stand fracture off so far from the soul original it creates its own.
I’d say two things specifically addressing why we only see doppios soul when he dies, normally when someone has a stand, it usually is humanoid and even more often fits the size, build, and silhouette of the user, in fact we got a really cool example of this in part 5 with moody blues vs man in the mirror, but obviously not every stand is humanoid such as epitaph, and KC would most certainly fit the build of Diavolo, and when doppio died he no longer had epitaph as it went with Diavolo while he was the personality in control of the stand(s) so epitaph went with KC, he was no longer a stand user. However this makes me think, what would have happened if chariot requiem was born before Diavolo came out? Would the finally have been with doppio instead? Could they somehow have worked it out differently? I wonder…
@@Mic.vencer I feel like the stands still would have gone with Diavolo since stands with humanoid eyes usually have the same eye color as their user. King Crimson, Epitaph and Diavolo all have green eyes while Doppio has brown. I don't think Doppio would ever have full control over the stands even if he was in control of the body when Chariot Requiem activated.
I have a personal theory that Diavolo isn't dying *outside* of time, but rather he's dying once in every parallel universe, of which there are an infinite number.
Hmmm that's an interesting theory! I'm only up to the part 6 anime, but I think if a stand can confirm the existence of a multiverse that would create a whole new way to look at Diavolo's fate and GER's power using that theory
@@AntwanShiro There is a stand in Jojo that proves there are parallel universes although it's in part 7 which is a new continuity. If parallel universes exist in both continuities it would be another way to connect the SBR universe to parts 1-6
@@AntwanShiro I think it's related to GE's life force punch ability that makes person feel time slower than it is. Someone even calculated that for chocolato in 7 page muda it would last for over 2000 years. And GER being waaaaay stronger could make one nanosecond for diavolo last incomprehensibly long. And force his own mind to create this trap for him where he dies and over again.
Can't be the case, cause after Giorno does his thing to Diavolo, they said he's still alive and need to go after him, to which Giorno responds 'no need, GE:R said he won't be a problem'. Not sure how exactly GE:R works fully (not even Giorno knows and GE:R won't tell him) but I think Diavolo is still somehow alive, but maybe stuck in an endless dream-like cycle. Not sure how he isn't drowning, but maybe GE:R is keeping him alive, but as a vegetable, stuck in an endless nightmare.
The idea that King Crimson is doppio's stand is quite interesting. I've always thought epitaph looks something like a parasite, so maybe thats like how diavolo is a parasite for doppio. Strangely enough, I've also heard a strange opposite theory, that Diavolo actually is King Crimson, and he's just Doppio's sentient stand
That actually makes sense considering we never saw Diavolo’s soul, but instead we saw King Crimson renter the body, and since Diavolo’s soul is a split piece of Doppio’s it does make sense that Diavolo could’ve transformed into King Crimson when pierced with the arrow, it also explains why his couldn’t hold the arrow, because it seems that stands need a user when they’re stabbed for the evolution, and since Diavolo is a stand he couldn’t use it.
@@hyperdreamer9483that's depressing wow because Diavolo convinced himself he is a real living being, while he's instead just a continuation of Doppio's essence, is he even conscious or is he just emulating a consciounseness? It's like this split personality itself developed a split personality to cope with the fact that... he's just a split personality, so he has emulated emotions, dreams, hopes, all as a mask. It's like AI bots, they aren't alive, and they are not even what they show us, their personality is just a mask created by their code. It's still life for him in a way, so that's why I find it depressing
I think the whole King Crimson and Epitaph representing Doppio and Diavolo thing makes sense, however, King Crimson and Epitaph are ONLY Diavolo's stand because if one belonged to Diavolo and the other to Doppio, Doppio would have kept his half when he was in Buccarati's body.
Yeah, if Epitaph really was Doppio's Stand, then Diavolo couldn't see into the future anymore, I really don't know, why people think, that Epitaph belonged to Doppio
@@motafu1 I have a theory that Diavolo is the main personality and he was born as the only one, but always had some mental problems. He killed his mother and stepfather without hesitation after all. When he got the arrow's power, since he already had the bias for it, he developed DID and since this is Jojo, instead of him suffering from amnesia when changing, it was the secondary personality that suffered from it.
This is what makes me think King Crimson Requiem would have erased Diavolo's body and soul from every JoJo timeline, but letting Diavolo fade out of existence at a slow enough pace to where he still has time to formulate an answer to KCR's only question: "Is this not what you wanted?"
The fact that Doppio had such a relatively simple and reasonable death compared to Diavolo is rather poetic as well. I would think if Doppio was also included in the continuous death loop with Diavolo, then it would be a rather cruel fate for Doppio, but Diavolo is alone with a complete lack of control over his fate for all eternity. Or whatever.
Yea at last doppio ascended but i think if they both were in the infinite death loop it wouldn't be so cruel because they could talk to each other and they could just be having conversations to keep themself sane
it would be fun if he returned. That him accepting his death and fate truly is what brings him back to life and breaks the loop. A reborn person but with a completely different mindset and view of the world.
See I was thinking about this concept of him just possible living full entire lives, as since he dies over and over for eternity then that would mean the likely chances of a scenario like this happening is 100%. The only issue I see is that it seems like he dies over and over within 10 seconds (I say 10 seconds just cause the time we see him in each new life ends very shortly; going along with the theory that it's a punishment, he gets punished for using his stand to control 10 seconds) so I was stuck between thinking it's possible for him to just live happy lives in the death loop, but also thinking that it's so short and immediate that possibly not.
@@AntwanShiro if there are infinite possibilites, surely there are some that include him "surviving" the loop of 10 seconds, infinity will always have a way out, and a whole another infinite range of possibilities for what can derive from that way.i always thought there are practically equal amount of good and bad experiences he goes through so he got a "balanced" fate which i'm fine with. i do think he has long-life endings btw, if i was confusing.
To whoever thinking this would work. He doesn't live an entire life and die. He just see his death just before it happens. So he'd probably live 1 minute surrounded by Trish and his Wife before he dies again. Which isn't "happily" at least for Diavolo
This level of analysis is usually used on HBO shows and deep fantasy novels. With the expert editing, I'm really surprised this one isn't blowing up like the other JoJo vids already.
@@12DAMDO In Kalebs recent videos it seems like he’s lost his passion. His voice doesn’t sound like it was before kinda just like going through the motions. (Not saying Kaleb makes bad videos just saying that it seems like he doesn’t care as much as he used to)
Even after all that happened and what actions were done. I still am sad for what happened to Doppio. I even cried when he died in the anime episode. Oh my poor sweet Doppio...
New JoJo video LESGOOOO!!!! Diavolo was always one of the most complex villains to me, it’s really interesting to see people’s different takes on his life and death etc
Yeah Diavolo was always really interesting to me, but it wasn't until working on this video that I was able to see some of the more interesting parts that make up the mystery of his character
Kars: wanted to be immortal, gets his wish but in the worst way possible, as he's essentially frozen forever. Dio: the very stand he believed to be invincible is what killed him. (Also he was killed by getting punched in the same leg he kicked Danny with) Kira: wanted to be unnoticed and *loved* hands, died because he went unnoticed, and got dragged to hell by hands. Diavolo: only cared about results, and was denied the results of his death. Also: 1st death: he's killed by a drug addict that he sold drugs to. 2nd death: he's cut open while still alive, like Cioccolata's victims. 3rd death: he died in public and out in the open, with no one knowing or caring who he was. 4th death: he is scared to death of a little girl, after trying to get rid of his daughter.
One BIG FLAW with the point at 9:15 King Crimson doesn’t work without Epitaph. King Crimson is the one who Erases the time, and if he just erases time without using epitaph, he runs the risk of actually just speeding up his fate by skipping into, or just before the part where he dies. The jump needs to be calculated before it is made.
but it does work without epitaph and diavolo is forced to use it every once in a while, such as when bruno managed to hit his face, he skipped time to not be hit and it resulted in bruno escaping with trish, also when risotto controlled aerosmith to try to take diavolo with him, diavolo wasnt expecting it and just skipped time to not be hit by aerosmith's bullets
@@cheatsykoopa98 Proof of him using it offscreen is the fact he knew Bruno was there, and exactly where he was. He skipped time multiple times in the bruno vs the boss fight. The only reason bruno won is because Epitaph only covers a short period of time, because he only needs to know what happens within 10 seconds because that’s what his time erase covers. Yes, he can use it without epitaph but it poses a huge risk because he could just jump to a point where he takes damage. Just like Polnareff being able to slash him as he exist time erase. That’s just a theory though we don’t know if he used epitaph before he tried to skip time to polnareff The risotto one was 0.5 seconds, the gang wouldn’t immediately get to him in 0.5 seconds so that’s a pretty shit point.
@@kujoova its not because it proves my point, it doesnt matter how big the skip is, it is proof of him skipping time without epitaph happened on screen
@@cheatsykoopa98 Ok, even so, he needs to know where he’s going to be in the next 10 seconds. Time Erase dosent guarantee safety, which is the point in making. He can still make the jump but 1. He could die the moment time erase ends 2. He has no idea of what is going to happen as time erase ends
@@cheatsykoopa98 He can skip time without epitaph, but it'd basically be suicide to do it. Let's say he was fighting Mista. He skips time without Epitaph, and he might just be full of bullet holes. Against Giorno, he might have skipped time and stepped on a damage-reflecting worm by accident, dying instantly.
Thinking about it, yeah Diavolo's fate feels particularly brutal, when considering that he doesn't come off as the most evil villain in the series. I think someone like Dio or Kira would've deserved it more.
I disagree with that. DIO, sure, but Diavolo was definitely up there among some of the evil mofos. The guy buried his mom in his room alive, and when she was dug up was still alive. Then he burned his town down. Then he cut two people up and sent them back to their team in boxes. And then he cut Polnareff to bits and left him disabled. And probably much, much more we aren't aware of. While I still think infinite death is a GIANT punishment and still doesn't strike me as completely fair, he was definitely an evil dude. At the very least Yoshikage kills people quickly by just evaporating them. Diavolo shows no mercy, though.
True but I think people draw upon a mixture of his perversion, his ruthlessness (the Shigechi kill comes to mind) and what he’s willing to do to get out of bad situations (planting a bomb on Okuyasu’s body to lure Josuke in, tormenting his “son” and lopping off his own hand)
Dont let this distract you from the fact that Diavolo is the main reason Dio got a stand in the first place and that due to selling drugs he made multiple families watch their children slowy die due to overdose
@@Naretae5 Dio getting a stand because of the arrow was unintentional, you can't say that's what makes Diavolo evil when he never set out to do that. Also children dying of overdose, all I have to say is that nobody forces kids to buy drugs, it is largely avoidable.
A theory i have seen that i like alot is that diavolo isnt a second personality but rather another soul possesing doppio.. or in other words a demon possesing doppio. This can explain the birth of diavolo since its basicly a anti christ birth of sorts. In the anime there is also a scene were for a split second baby doppio's eyes become a demonic red when he blinks and the nurse even reacts to it. This also explains why king crimson is such a powerfull stand. A stand is someones fighting spirit and the stronger their spirit is the stronger the stand. And king crimson's power is a 4th dimensional ability being able to erase time for 10 seconds. This and the fact that when diavolo appears he takes over doppio's body by force. And ofcourse diavolo means the devil in italian. Now does that mean that diavolo is actually the devil? Ehh prob not but him being a demon does make alot of sense and makes his death also the right one Since you cant really kill a demon
The problem with King Crimson being Doppio's stand is that when he and Diavolo gets separated in different bodies the whole King Crimson and Epitaph reamins with Diavolo
I'd love to see Diavolo return as a jobro. part 9 protagonist saves him from the loop for a little while and he helps Jojo out using a weaker King Crimson. it's weakened since doppio has moved on
I think its better to view King Crimson ability as erasing time not skipping time. He erase everyone's memory and his own existens for a short duration, that's why bullets goes past him during Metallica fight, and with that i would argue that that it fits more its Diavolo´s stand in order to erase his own existens and rule from the dark, where Doppio as a "younger" spirit looking forward towards the future.
It's funny because "G" the one who helped with the video, when we were trying to remember the original conversation we had so I could write down the points and start scripting, misremembered the original point we talked about (KC being Doppio's and Epitaph being Diavolo's) and almost word for word said exactly what you commented. I can't remember exactly what was said about Diavolo, but for Doppio it was something like "Epitaph represents Doppio as he is younger and has more of something to look forward to." Then I was like "nahhh remember it was something like this..." and we were like "oh yeahhhhh", but I always did like the that point as the alternative way to look at it, but there was just no way to fit it into the video sadly.
@@spy.mp4773 I though that king crimson and epitaph were two different stands that belonged to the soul of doppio and diavalo since they were two souls inhabiting one body
I always thought Diavolo's fate wasn't necessarily cruel, because he dies but THEN comes back to life. While the aspect of infinite death is mainly highlighted, a side-effect is that he also gains infinite life. Diavolo can have a long loop where he actually acts like a father to Trish and raises her, living in a happy family together with his wife until he dies, or he learns to live a life in a community without trying to erase his past so desperately, learning to cope with his fear of being found out and making peace with himself. Of course, it remains a punishment because loops could simply contain deaths already in motion that he can't stop, like the autopsy one, but I feel like after enough time, Diavolo might be able to find happiness within his infinite loops. Maybe my view is just too optimistic, though.
From what we've seen in the anime at least, it seems like every life Diavolo goes through is only about a few minutes from death. That means he's only got enough time to look around, try and figure out what's going to kill him that time, and die anyway. Perhaps, but it's nice to be optimistic.
Yk I always wanted to write a fan story of doppio's childhood, seeing that many people hate him unlike dio, Kars and even kira. I was thinking something along the lines of l: Doppio being born in a prison has lead him be a witness to alot of things such as prison beatings, abuse from the prison staff and even shankings, he even took a shank he found on the floor next to his cell, just incase he need protection. He was never given any attention or love for that matter from his mother, she just saw him as another inconvenience that she had to deal with, which is what lead him to reside in himself, finding out that his only friend was the voice that spoke through his mother's contraband phone. The phone would ring whenever he felt lonely and right before he went to sleep. That night he woke up to strange noises he heard happening below him, and when he got up to see what it was he saw his mother being harassed by a guard. Seeing his mother's tears, the sounds she made along with his lack of understanding for what intercourse was he thought she was getting attacked, he sudden snapped and it would appear that he blacked out right before he jumped on the guard. Doppio woke up not fully grasping the severity of what he's just done, covered in blood wity the shank he took up along with the no longer moving corpse of the guard. All he knows is that some how he protected his mom while sleeping. He was expecting to be rewarded for what he's just done, protecting his mother from the brutal attacker, but what he was met with was disgust and resentment which lead him to find residence in himself even more.
Its important to look at Diavalo's actions in context to the universe. More specifically what manifested his ability as a correspondence Whenever a Jojo stepped up, from Jonathan to even George the 1st, they were adopting a an enormous responsibility. When someone says "who died and made you king" its that kind of idiom taking place whenever a person identifies with right standing. In Jotaro's case "I will be your judge" Now I would like to focus on Giorno for a bit. This is 15 year old who decided to take on the mafia, as if the world of organized crime wasn't scary enough and in Italy no less. The prevalence of stands has made underground operations undetectable. Jotaro and co had a hard enough time bringing down one reprobate [in part 4] imagine how disastrous it gets with an underworld who are inadvertently executing social Darwinism (coerced evolution) If Cioccolata is any indication, Giorno made the right call when he requested that Koichi leave matters to the passione. This is what he was up against, and through a series of pruning trials, resorting to GER's ability was what Giorno deemed an appropriate response to the criminal space With that out of the way Diavalo, a manifestation of mind who's Stand has taken over his subconscious, he alone is responsible for a substantial amount of death. You might chock up Bruno's death up to a dog eat dog world, but by volley of King Crimson's ability Diavalo is quite literally the devil He built his empire doing what Dio never could, turning people into lesser vampires. He pawned arrows, sold drugs, and caused people to lose perspective by using time erasure. Big brother would be jealous. That's how power works, you don't just have a taste, you go after absolute power If at some point he wanted someone's company and they refused to sell it, all King Crimson has to do is create a perfect crime scenario, nix the owners, and become majority shareholder. Auction off assets to the lords of his organization In doing so, its not just the head that was crushed- his family gets affected, his partners, people who depend on the partnerships, their families, the commendations of the company reputation, people's work, their ability to find new work. Decades, sometimes hundreds of years of vestments, undone in a blink as a result of covetous behavior That is why the title "sleeping slaves" is an accurate identifier to his arc. You turn peoples lives into an unconscious drone of toil until they eventually keel over from disenfranchisement. What Giorno did was shatter the illusion built by Diavalo's fiendish deeds. By adding back the cause to his reality, Giorno essentially triggered a cascade of causality and forced them all to happen simultaneously (or sequentially) We all have to die, but in Diavolo's case, he is forced to play out the instances where a person might experience death WITHIN the world he created. How many issues of turmoil and strife had he caused by toying with his ability? Hundreds? Thousands? How about eternity since that is the nature of the universe, it will never end because life manifests into new forms whether from mastodon to nudibranch It's not really a question of whether it was deserved, instead its an axiom of how death is abominable to life. IT IS A SIN to make someone experience death. Diavolo never committed to enduring fate, so without any resistance, facing the consequences all at once would be like being waterboarded by niagra falls
Damn, really well-written - I'll take some notes to phrase my texts better. It's unfortunate that the text is underrated as it's too long and complex for the majority of the viewers to digest.
Etac death: Um- wait what did they mean? Etac time: sister karma is taxes, he didn't pay. She came to collect all at once. ((that explain what he was saying good enough?))
One way you could justify his defeat is that simply put he was the boss of an organization that caused untold amounts of pain and suffering through his drug trade, various assassins, robbery, etc. So in a morbid way it’s fitting he would suffer for eternity to compensate for the untold lives he’s ruined and ended.
If we go off of the song Epitaph, "knowledge is a dangerous friend when no one sets the rules, the fate of all mankind I see, is in the hands of fools" and the way multiple personalities are created IRL it heavily implies that Doppio was the original and Diavolo and King Crimson were born when Doppio learned about his mother. MPD can be created when someone experiences a very traumatic event, in order to make a version of you that can handle it, which the knowledge of his mother very much could have been. The "knowledge" in the line from the song represents his mother, Doppio is the "fool", and Diavolo along with his stand are the ones who now "set the rules". I actually think Epitaph is Doppios stand and King Crimson is Diavolos. The songs of the stands in JoJo are meant to give insight on the users character, the stand is their soul after all. Epitaph(the song) is sorta about the failure of man and people's lack of action to fix things and how the singer is afraid for future things to come. This fits Doppio as he needed to make Diavolo to fix things and how he showed that he doesn't care about humans, example being caring about the bug and not the kid, and how he does in the end. And King Crimson is the band, so Epitaph is BY King Crimson hence why Doppio can't use it unless Diavolo(King Crimson) gives it to him. Then we can look at the Court of the Crimson King which also may be a part of the reference, which is really just about a king and his kingdom, and Diavolo is the "king" of the Mafia.
I really like the idea of kc actually being doppios stand! On top of the reasons you stated, it also fits him being the personality thats „skipping“ whenever things get too dangerous. But i think you are very much reading that existsnce theme into part 5.. -the mysterious aspects of his birth make a lot more sense when considering that he is supposed to symbolize the devil and this is some sort of divine/unholy birth -he is looking for trish, in order to erase clues about his existsnce, why would he work against himself if he wanted to exist? He also did not let her grow up on purpose, he just couldnt find her because her mother hid her well - those were times before the global network, it was a lot harder to find someone that is hidden -diavolos death was the right one not because it was the only one possible or in some abstract way the opposite of his wish, it was right because of the eternal cruelty he would have brought upon the world, had he won and gotten the arrow. I imagine it would be as the song epitath and the court of the crimson king by king crimson describe
It's incredible how "he started Mafia" is so downplayed here I think i can get a list of so many people here in Italy that could say something like "yeah, deserved" for someone that would've done something like that. Now, i know that the Mafia in Jojo is a bit different so like, it's kinda hard to get the point from someone outside, but it's basically a pleague. Anyway you can say that he got in an eternal punishment as he would get in a real hell, so i think it's fair game anyway you look at it
about what you said at the start of the video around 2:00 - 2:22 this is EXACTLY why i want a quick (no matter how insignificant) Diavolo death scene in part 9 the universe may have been reset, but Diavolo's fate of never meeting his fate should basically continue, no matter which timeline we're in (in my opinion)
@@a.m.hofmeister725 i'm aware, but if Diavolo's death loop exists outside of the timeline regardless of the reset, it can still work even in the SBR universe, theoretically speaking (that's why i said "no matter which timeline we're in")
I like the idea that diavolo just has really shitty wifi and ping, that’s what happened with the prison birth, he just spent like 6 hours in a 2 minute loading screen
Trish even can sense him... But Giorno confirms that they will never see him again... She senses his father because his not already dead... Perharps is dying and dying, and can't stop dying.... And to me Valentine's death is a re-reading from Araki eyes... Like valentine as an angel desires to die eternely just to not forgive his patria. But... I think after he bribed another Diego Brando to finish the job he choose to die for the last time.
Honestly sometimes I think Diavolo is literally just King Crimson, like, KC knew Doppio was too weak to control it, so it created an alternate personality that was more worthy
It makes sense given that sapient stands do exist and Diavolo is seen talking as King Crimson a lot. It would also connect to the idea of Diavolo giving Doppio a purpose as part of a Stand's purpose (with a few exceptions) is to assist its user.
9:30 Diavolo is also the one who is always power hungry, always trying to control fate and shape his own future, Diavolo is always the one trying to find out what's going to happen to him and his future.
Wow making an already difficult character more confusing never thought it could be done but here you are. I have a theory and I wonder if anybody has though of this but what if diavolo got an requiem stand in the death loop (I don't see a way that would happen but just play along) and some how broke free and is now observing the Jojo multiverse from beyond with his unimaginable power of King Crimson Requiem, perhaps he'll apear in p9 as the final boss, ready to destroy the multiverse starting with the SBR universe... Who knows all I want to say is that diavolo deserved a better ending since he was nothing but an mentally ill person which I feel sorry for.
Yeah I tend to over complicate things haha. Honestly though that sounds like a pretty cool theory and concept to happen and technically it could since it loops for infinity. The only possible problem could be that GER said he would never reach the truth, so if in one of those timelines he was fated to achieve requiem, he wouldn't be able to reach it. However, that just going off what we know which isn't much, if Araki did go this route all he would have to do is simply explain how the GER loop works and from that we could infer how Diavolo got out of it. The idea does make for a pretty fun theory though!
@@AntwanShiro thanks that theory was fun to make tbh. Being that diavolo's was the only villain to not get a power up I wanted to come up with something and the you're video apeard so I thought to myself " ah I'll coment my strange mumbo jumbo K.C.R theory on this video since it's talking about diavolo" Anyway hopefully you don't disappear for another 5-8 months after this vid. He isn't mentally ill he has split personality disorder that personality is still a person with common sense and emotions It's just the fact that his split personality is cruel that's all
As a part of a DID system, I would like to clear out a few labels that are wrong. The different "personalities" are referred to as "alters" or "headmates". Doppio, I think, would be considered a host since he is the "main one" and Diavolo a sort of "protector" or something of that sort. It is true that some alters don't even realize that they are part of a system within some systems. Doppio gets headaches and it's soooo accurate. Araki has done is research for sure.
This is a year old comment but we think Diavolo is more of like a persecutor rather than a protector, he uses violence to try to protect him and Doppio
People seems to forgets that Diavolo is the head of the mafia, the strongest one at that. With it's business includes gambling, and drug trafficking. And if "Purple Haze: Feedback" novel is canon, then you know how f up these drugs are
Didn't read all comments so I don't know if this was already addressed by others but there are couple disagreements I have: - KC or epitaph as Doppio's stand. When soul-swap by Chariot Requiem happens all souls keep their respective stands, as they are after all manifestation of the soul. Thus KC and Epitaph are undoubtedly Diavolo's own stand abilities and not Doppio's. -Diavolo is never seen in the past, so Doppio is likely the main personality. If Diavolo's goal was to be hidden, then he would obviously never appear in front of anyone of his own will. It's quite possible to argue that the flashback baby is Diavolo; after all it was remarked that the baby didn't cry at all while Doppio behaves innocently to a fault. It's quite possible Doppio is "slow" compared to Diavolo's scheming persona because he was created this way by Diavolo early on to throw off suspicions from his true nature. Diavolo climbed to the top to be in complete control of all information in first place, so that he could actually track his past "mistakes" like Trish and finally deal with them once for all. Additionally his name is referencing that of the Devil, an evil who lurks in shadows and seeks power to stand above God's creation of man which is paralleled by his otherwise un-Jesus-like miraculous conception, being contextualised in complete squalor (by a widow, in a sudden pregnancy inside a prison ward for a crime she committed) and self-righteous notions of being the "chosen" one, worthy to stand above all others. King Crimson doesn't seek to erase "mistakes", he defies fate and destiny which are recurring themes and forces in Jojo, of which the main thread is in form of the Joestar bloodline. That is the hubris against which the story pins Dio's son. That you can't fully control or escape your destiny, or rather, consequences. As for "right" death I like to believe it is iconic that for someone who always wanted to be hidden Requiem made sure that Diavolo ceased to exist without a trace of him left, much to protest of Trish and Mista who wanted at least a glimpse of his body to make sure he's dead, he's instead forever stuck in a death loop outside of time.
Fantastic video, I never thought about the Diavolo having Epitaph and Doppio having King Crimson, but it makes so much sense. My only issue with it, is why wasn't King Crimson linked to Doppio when he swapped with Bruno's body. Otherwise fantastic video 👍🏻
Dopio is actually the main personality.Dopio is a nice person who cares about other people. And Diavolo is that evil side on him wirh btw is a problem with the brain. This "problem" make 1 person have 2 difrent people inside him with is 2 minds. In that case Dopio is the owner of the body but because of his mental problem he have a second personality with is Diavolo.I am too lazy to explain more😌
8:37 Would that be because Diavolo doesn't want anyone to know who he is. This adds to the contradiction as even though he knows nobody know who he is, he's still paranoid. It's possible that either one could be in control.
I actually feel bad for Doppio because it’s like Diavolo has been using him for his own success and he cared about him only because if he gets hurt then he gets hurt too
Very interesting perspective, however I do have at least one idea against KC is doppios, if doppio was the original personality, and he developed Diavolo, then I’d say he did so as a defense mechanism, a way to cope with what ever trauma he was trying to get away from, and KC can be summarized as the ultimate escapists ability, all your problems and mistakes are gone from you until you say so, so I’d argue that because Diavolo is the coping mechanism for escapism, KC as the stand belonging to Diavolo reflects that
Wait... But what if, diavolo Wasn't supposed to exist and doppio was the only one who was? Basically, all the decisions in part 5 are first made by doppio, who then gets into the death loop, goes insane, and through sheer luck somehow ends up back at the start of his life as a separate personality, names Himself diavolo, which then leads to the events show in the actual show?
I always saw it as Epitaph evolved into King Crimson. But Epitaph had its own personality…and that personality was Diavolo. I think until Doppio got his stand, Diavolo never existed. And that would explain why the sudden desire to erase the past. Diavolo is slowly killing off the Doppio personality, whether accidentally or intentionally, by splitting off of him. And with that comes a desire to erase the past, so that all that remains is Diavolo.
No one deserves infinite suffering. That's not to say Diavolo didn't deserve a cruel end, or a ton of suffering to atone for his life, but.. Even if you want to say Diavolo deserved ten thousand years of constant death, or 100,000, or even ten million years of it.. when he eventually passes that threshold.. he'll end up getting even more and more suffering. And then more. And more. And more. However much suffering you believe Diavolo deserves, he will get *WAY* more than that if it's infinite. *Narratively* , the way we *arrived* at his fate makes sense and feels right.. but to label the actual infinite suffering as deserved is just cruel. You literally can't commit enough evil acts within a finite life to deserve infinite suffering. At some point the suffering will have balanced it out.
Maybe Diavolo's death loop isn't infinite, but he keeps trying to skip each death using KC, whether consciously or subconsciously, and the process of skipping sends him to another potential death which he also tries to skip.
I think what's interesting is that Fate in Jojo is all but confirmed to not be just an abstract concept, but a natural force like gravity So the idea that Diavolo was never meant to exist, sort of makes him this strange and rare phenomenon like a lunar eclipse. So, going off that, its quite possible that the reason why King Crimson works the way it does and why Diavolo's actions are so contradictory is because he *has no fate* to begin with. He's a literal walking paradox ,with no clear beginning and no clear end and one that decided that he's going to take what he believes he's owed. As for his punishment, it ultimately ties into this as I think its less the idea that he's being punished for trying to *control* fate and more that he tried to *take it* from others. PS: The idea of King Crimson being Doppio's stand is interesting. Tho an argument could be made for the reverse. As Epitaph only shows you the future, it doesn't give you the ability to change it or effect it in any way, reflecting how helpless Doppio is on his own While the idea of erasing mistakes and removing obstacles with brute force seems to be more Diavolo's style
Diavolo couldn't use the arrow to turn into requiem because Doppio is the one that needs to do that hes the real stand user of King Crimson. This makes sense and is a good theory
Nah, when he got stabbed he produced the blue requiem smoke- he likely was in the process of transforming (as it isn't instant, as shown with Chariot melting and GE hatching) but due to Bruno's sacrifice he became incorporeal and could no longer hold on to the arrow and thus undoing it.
Epitaph is technically not a stand but is king crimson head ability like killer queens hand ability " sheer heart attack" but king crimsons head ability is not an offense more of a defense for seeing the future.
To he honest i think that both Epitaph and King Crimson belong to Diavolo. I think that because when Doppio died in Bucciarati's body neither Epitaph or King Crimson disappeared.
This was an interesting watch, though I have a few questions that unfortunately cannot be answered. One, if King Crimson belongs to Doppio, why does Diavolo have to 'send it to him' during his fight with Risotto? He almost dies because he has to rely on Epitaph but lack the physical strength and timeskipping of King Crimson. Diavolo even refers to the whole process as "You will have to survive as it takes time for me to send my King Crimson to you. You will have to rely on Epitaph!" Two, shouldn't have Diavolo lost King Crimson as a Stand if it belonged to Doppio alone and he was stuck in Bruno's body to die? There is also the fact that he doesn't seem to have either Stand in the deathloop, plus the fact that he sometimes does affect the world in the skipped time like his blood and the room he cleans, meaning he can touch stuff, but then Narancia's bullets go through him and Bruno hits...himself. These aren't the real reasons why Diavolo is my least favourite Jojo villain to be honest, better villains also had problems (Kira is my favourite even though I despise Bites The Dust for all the fate bullcrap), I mostly dislike Diavolo because he's...the dumbest Jojo villain. Ever. I mean think about it, he hears Polpo died in a high security prison under mysterious circumstances right after some rookie joined the gang and he sends the same group this rookie joined to take his daughter halfway around the country, killing off Pericolo in the process but then just ambushing Bucciarati to take Trish, doing it when the whole group is still there instead of telling them to leave the girl and go away. I get that he most likely didn't consider Bruno a threat, but that just makes him even more of a dumbass. And this issue is compounded by what he is supposed to be, which is a hyper intelligent badass who plans for everything and is never caught off guard. Yet the ONE smart thing he does is alert Narancia to Risotto's presence so that the latter gets shot. That is smart, I admit, but all other times he is saved either by blind luck or the fact his Stand ability is OP. And coming off of Kira, I just think he's not really interesting. We've already seen the 'walking contradiction' villain who wanted a quiet life but also the freedom to murder and good old catman did that much better, where everything in his personality, his mannerisms, what he does, even his Stand all serve this dramatic and story purpose, it was great. But Diavolo is not just a contradiction in that he wants two different things, he is a contradiction in contradicting this contradiction. After all, he is content with existing as "The Boss" and ruling Italy in a bland way so it's not like he doesn't REALLY want to exist, and if we assume Diavolo is the secondary personality, why was he formed? Strong, dominant personalities usually form in victims of abuse, but he was already an evil little shit by his teenage years (which means either Doppio is also a psycho or that he was already formed by the time he burned his town down) and it just doesn't seem to tie into anything. All in ally he is just a discount DIO without the personality, the brains or Koyasu Takehito's voice behind him. (No shame at the VA, he did a good job but saying "King Crimson!" angrily will never eclipse Koyasu's bellowing of "ZA WAARUDO!" ) And all this as a followup to Kira, who is to me the best a weird Jojo villain can ever be. Sorry, your video made me appreciate Diavolo a tiny bit more, but it also reminded me of all the bigger reasons I hate him as a character. Best wishes though!
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed the video and it was able to present maybe some new perspectives on Diavolo! In regards to the whole thing with how he’s still able to affect the world around him while using his ability, that is where the tricky part of understanding his ability stems from as it makes no sense. Like if he can’t kill anyone or do anything while skipping time, how did Narancia die? It’s a different aspect of his ability that not a lot of people mention, typically KC is used defensively but it can also be used offensively and in those scenarios that’s what happened. If he didn’t skip time, he was going to grab Narancia and throw him into the bars, or he would’ve cleaned the whole room. Since those things were fated to happen he could just skip the part of him doing it. I’ll probably visit this topic in another video at a later point, but to keep it brief that’s the best way I can explain it. Also the whole split personality, while I based it in reality, it’s not fully realistic. So the best I could say is in the regard you’ll just have to suspend disbelief and assume that either Diavolo was always there with Doppio since birth, or Diavolo had the potential to be there since birth, but didn’t develop until later through trauma. I think the series leaves a lot of mystery behind the details about Diavolo and Doppio so even with my explanation, there’s still a lot of discrepancies. Like we know Doppio has to be a stand user atleast, because he can see stands. However, does that mean Diavolo has control of certain aspects and can give or take them from Doppio? If epitaph was Doppio’s stand why was Diavolo still able to use it when they separated? I think a lot of the fun from the character is mainly the mystery behind it as it keeps you wondering how it all works in a good not frustrating way atleast in my opinion. In regards to how you feel about his character overall, I can’t really say anything. You being up some valid points and simply some characters are better than others and people will always feel differently about characters. I like Kira’s personality more than Diavolo’s, but I like the mystery being Diavolo’s character more than Kira’s. All in all I really enjoyed replying to this comment and hearing your thoughts, it really gives some insight on what things to focus on for future videos, but also because it’s fun talking JoJo with someone!
@@AntwanShiro Thank you for the respectful and just overall great comment! ^^ I can see your points that you brought up and about fate, that's actually the reason I hate Bites the Dust. The idea that things are fated to happen, sort of like prophecies, I find interesting as a concept but not in practice. Mostly because it can make your story feel locked in and on rails if no matter what happens, certain things remain the same because 'fate.' I disliked this in Bites the Dust and based on your (otherwise great) explanation, I dislike it in King Crimson. Honestly, if I tried to explain it, especially in the scene with Narancia, it would be the idea that HE interacts with the world WILLINGLY to grab Narancia and toss him into the bars. In the skipped time he consciously chose to do that. I think he says it in one scene that in skipped time, everything is erased but his will, which to me implies that like you said, he controls 'Fate' to a certain extent and can decide to interact with the world but the world cannot interact with hím. So bullets phase through him but he can grab Mista's gun or Narancia as specific targets. This still leaves a lot of holes but it's a thought. Otherwise you are also right that Diavolo keeping BOTH Stands after Doppio dies is a slip, maybe Araki forgot (like he does :D ) or there is a different explanation, I'm not sure. Honestly, to me the mystery surrounding Diavolo was more like a series of holes and proved quite frustrating to be honest. But that is merely my own opinion and I am glad we can agree to disagree on certain aspects. 8 parts in, Kira is still my favourite but that is not to say I don't appreciate old Skippy Boy. For example, I have All Star Battle R and while I main Kira, I have done a few rounds with Diavolo as well. Plus the fact you can set his victory emote as Doppio going "Tuu rururururu! Tee rururururu!" is fantastic. All in all, I am glad you are enjoying this discussion as much as I do and I wish you a very good (even if bizarre :3 ) day!
@@darklord884 Yeah of course and thank you as well! Also speaking of All Star Battle R, what's funny is I keep seeing so many videos specifically about Diavolo in the game pop up in my recommended lol but that's a really funny touch if you can set the victory emote to Doppio. I definitely have to check it out some time since it seems like a lot of fun, but I hope you also have a very good and bizarre day too :)
@@AntwanShiro Huh, interesting. Unfortunately it isn't that versatile, every character has about 4 specific taunts you can set and for Diavolo, one or two has Doppio in the frame and one of the quotes you can set is his ringing noise. It's not so sophisticated as to have the same endings for Doppio and Diavolo sadly. What did blow me away and this is amazing, Joseph has an ability where he pulls the "Your next line is X!" and it's a debuff but what's breathtaking is, he says a unique thing for every character and every character reacts to it with shock. Oh and not just in text, this is all VOICED! Same thing with Josuke. He has a rage mode where the opponent insults his hair and he gets angry and buffs himself. And everyone has unique hair insults! The attention to detail is really stellar in this game. For example, Prosciutto and Pesci form one playable character together (you can basically use Beach Boy to snag people Scorpion style or swap Pesci out for Grateful Dead to do beatdowns and debuffs). What's interesting is there is a train station level from Part 5 where Prosciutto and Pesci are one of the hazards you can fall into. You can even see them in the background before they enter the train and Beach Boy starts whipping at you. But if you picked them as the character you play as, they won't show up, not even in the background. I really do recommend this game, especially if you haven't played the original ASB in 2013 (like me). Some crucial characters are sadly missing, Abbacchio and Weather Report being chief among them, but you still have 50 characters to choose from and 5 more later as DLC. I just hope they add my dear tea-pisser. 😆 (Fun fact, they almost added him to Eyes of Heaven, he has a character model in the game, but they took him out last minute.) Also if you play this game, it will allow you to experience the old meme of Josuke fixing Johnny's legs and then re-crippling him. :D (For context, Josuke's ultimate attack is a reference to his beatdown of Fungami Yuya, he heals the enemy to full health and then beats them back down to zero. And each character initially stands up like "Woah! I'm healed!" Now what makes this hilarious is that they couldn't make a unique animation for Johnny so they just put in the Johnny character model for the scene, so as Josuke uses Crazy Diamond, Johnny miraculously stands up, confused and then after Josuke's beatdown, he can only crawl once again. Most likely that much more pissed at the re-installed injury. :D)
@@darklord884 I've seen the clip of Josuke and Johnny that's so funny, its cool that they kept that in the game too. Also I heard there was DLC for the game coming so hey who knows?
1:56 Wrong. Once Giorno eventually dies of age GERs ability will dissapear and Diavolo will stop dying. When SCR vanished its mutantions vanished too, so same should happen with GER
Well, it was never said that a greater power than Gold experience requiem wouldn't be able to stop Diavolo's cycle. So maybe when the universe got reset he was also released.
i dont agree with the theory of diavolo being in alt dimension, her daughter could feel his presence, i think after pucci destroyed the timeline diavolo's torture ended too
My theory is doppio gets to live peaceful life then it switches to diavolo right before death so to diavolo he just dies over and over while doppio gets all the good part of life
What I think about Diavolo's death is that it was perfect irony against his motives. Diavolo was the kind of man who only cared for the results, "as the result is the only thing that lives in infamy." Giorno essential took that and denied Diavolo the ability to ever reach the results, putting him in a hell specially designed for him.
And that fits in with how all (or at least most) Jojo villains have ironic death/defeats
Kars:getting to live forever but can’t ever use the power he got
DIO: essentially getting defeated by the stand he viewed as invincible
Kira: not being noticed when he got ran over like he tried to do his entire life not being noticed and also HANDS
@@thatbluegamet Kars wanted to be able to live without the subjugation of the sun, and ended up orbiting around it.
Dio wanted to become powerful by abusing the Joestar fortune and even blood, yet in the end his own power was taken from him by a Joestar teen, no older than he was when he became a vampire, and that has no such grandiose aspirations but a simple sense of justice
Kira has hidden himself for so long from the police and done so much to live a quiet life, yet an institution that usually helps people instead of murdering them accidentally ended him and he got to live an anonymous death since they didn't recognize his body. Also he was dragged to hell by his own fetish.
Pucci got defeated by fate
And Tooru literally died to nothing lol
This could be also interpreted in another manner. Since Diavolo only cared about the "results". He did technically succeed in their acquisition. He really did get to live forever, and he will outlive every original universe JoJo character. However... It just so happens that the means to living forever is a constant death loop.
King Crimson being Doppio's stand is so interesting since he keep experiencing misfortune so he have this deep desire to earse it, but due to Diavolo in control he can never use it and be satified, furthermore Doppio becomes a energy source for King Crimson's insane power
I usually look at stands and there Eye colour so it's confirm king crimson is diavolo stand or the true dominate personality
Ohhh that's pretty interesting I like that lol
@@AntwanShiro thx
Some pretty fun things to think and speculate about
If King Crimson was Doppio's Stand it would've ended up in Bruno's body with his soul
King crimson creates a 10 second lag for everyone except himself
Golden experience requiem disconnects a enemy from the server
Gold experience requiem is the admin
Gold experience requiem puts you in a chunk ban where you must endlessly rejoin
it's rubberbanding more like
I think something that's interesting is Diavolo's soul isn't shown as his body but instead is shown as King Crimson.
Honestly I really like this theory, you bring up a lot of good points, but it also just sounds really cool
the stand is a representation of the users battle spirit so i guess he just sees himself in a more spiritual way
I’d say two things specifically addressing why we only see doppios soul when he dies, normally when someone has a stand, it usually is humanoid and even more often fits the size, build, and silhouette of the user, in fact we got a really cool example of this in part 5 with moody blues vs man in the mirror, but obviously not every stand is humanoid such as epitaph, and KC would most certainly fit the build of Diavolo, and when doppio died he no longer had epitaph as it went with Diavolo while he was the personality in control of the stand(s) so epitaph went with KC, he was no longer a stand user. However this makes me think, what would have happened if chariot requiem was born before Diavolo came out? Would the finally have been with doppio instead? Could they somehow have worked it out differently? I wonder…
King Crimsception
@@AntwanShiro d4c
@@hyperdreamer9483my brain broke trying to understand this, but I agree

This is what makes me think King Crimson Requiem would have erased Diavolo's body and soul from every JoJo timeline, but letting Diavolo fade out of existence at a slow enough pace to where he still has time to formulate an answer to KCR's only question:
"Is this not what you wanted?"

Diavolo death #97538. He dies happily after living a happy life, surrounded by loved ones.
I like to think that one of his deaths is that he was born dead
That and he gets king Crimson Requiem but it just kills him because why not
See I was thinking about this concept of him just possible living full entire lives, as since he dies over and over for eternity then that would mean the likely chances of a scenario like this happening is 100%. The only issue I see is that it seems like he dies over and over within 10 seconds (I say 10 seconds just cause the time we see him in each new life ends very shortly; going along with the theory that it's a punishment, he gets punished for using his stand to control 10 seconds) so I was stuck between thinking it's possible for him to just live happy lives in the death loop, but also thinking that it's so short and immediate that possibly not.
he wakes up afterwards and is immediately torn to shreds by a bear
@@AntwanShiro if there are infinite possibilites, surely there are some that include him "surviving" the loop of 10 seconds, infinity will always have a way out, and a whole another infinite range of possibilities for what can derive from that way.i always thought there are practically equal amount of good and bad experiences he goes through so he got a "balanced" fate which i'm fine with. i do think he has long-life endings btw, if i was confusing.

1st death: he's killed by a drug addict that he sold drugs to.
2nd death: he's cut open while still alive, like Cioccolata's victims.
3rd death: he died in public and out in the open, with no one knowing or caring who he was.
4th death: he is scared to death of a little girl, after trying to get rid of his daughter.
Kira got unnoticed by an ambulance, I laughed so damn hard.
D-damn ..... the Kira one was just ......... WHAT . I didn't notice all that .
One BIG FLAW with the point at 9:15
King Crimson doesn’t work without Epitaph.
That’s just a theory though we don’t know if he used epitaph before he tried to skip time to polnareff
The risotto one was 0.5 seconds, the gang wouldn’t immediately get to him in 0.5 seconds so that’s a pretty shit point.

Yeah, it took me quite a few episodes but it makes sense.
Kira is the moral person out of the jojo villains imo
Dont let this distract you from the fact that Diavolo is the main reason Dio got a stand in the first place and that due to selling drugs he made multiple families watch their children slowy die due to overdose
@@Naretae5 Dio getting a stand because of the arrow was unintentional, you can't say that's what makes Diavolo evil when he never set out to do that. Also children dying of overdose, all I have to say is that nobody forces kids to buy drugs, it is largely avoidable.
Diavolo has been shown at the end when his soul was separated from doppio, that he was in fact King Crimson, and he also had Epitaph.
This is literally the best explanation of king crimson I’ve ever heard it makes perfect sense of the whole seen
This video literally made me subscribe
The problem with King Crimson being Doppio's stand is that when he and Diavolo gets separated in different bodies the whole King Crimson and Epitaph reamins with Diavolo
Yeah those are Diavolo’s stands he even “shares” his stand with Doppio.
There’s a reason why Risotto said, “You’re a walking contradiction!”
I'd love to see Diavolo return as a jobro. part 9 protagonist saves him from the loop for a little while and he helps Jojo out using a weaker King Crimson. it's weakened since doppio has moved on
blind king crimson is a cool idea good comment
Closest we get to that is Anasui, who looks basically the same.
I think the point is that Giorno is still a teen and that’s why he gave Diavolo such a cruel “experience”
He's also Dio's son, and as we saw with Polpo, he isn't exactly nice to his enemies.
Giorno likes justice just like Jonathan and he also likes brutality like Dio so he always beats people who are deserving of a lot of pain
@@dr.shuppet5452 true
I like the idea of king crimson being doppios stand but when their souls were separated, diavalo had king crimson, not doppio.
Diavolo had both King Crimson and Epitaph at that time, so he probably just took both from Doppio
@@spy.mp4773 I though that king crimson and epitaph were two different stands that belonged to the soul of doppio and diavalo since they were two souls inhabiting one body
@@wallymayer5998 epitaph is a sub stand similar to sheer heart attack
Doppio was such a good character 😭
JJBA villains: died
Diavolo: dies
More specifically what manifested his ability as a correspondence
Whenever a Jojo stepped up, from Jonathan to even George the 1st, they were adopting a an enormous responsibility. When someone says "who died and made you king" its that kind of idiom taking place whenever a person identifies with right standing. In Jotaro's case "I will be your judge"
Now I would like to focus on Giorno for a bit. This is 15 year old who decided to take on the mafia, as if the world of organized crime wasn't scary enough and in Italy no less.
The prevalence of stands has made underground operations undetectable. Jotaro and co had a hard enough time bringing down one reprobate [in part 4] imagine how disastrous it gets with an underworld who are inadvertently executing social Darwinism (coerced evolution)
If Cioccolata is any indication, Giorno made the right call when he requested that Koichi leave matters to the passione. This is what he was up against, and through a series of pruning trials, resorting to GER's ability was what Giorno deemed an appropriate response to the criminal space
With that out of the way Diavalo, a manifestation of mind who's Stand has taken over his subconscious, he alone is responsible for a substantial amount of death. You might chock up Bruno's death up to a dog eat dog world, but by volley of King Crimson's ability Diavalo is quite literally the devil
He built his empire doing what Dio never could, turning people into lesser vampires. He pawned arrows, sold drugs, and caused people to lose perspective by using time erasure. Big brother would be jealous. That's how power works, you don't just have a taste, you go after absolute power
If at some point he wanted someone's company and they refused to sell it, all King Crimson has to do is create a perfect crime scenario, nix the owners, and become majority shareholder. Auction off assets to the lords of his organization
In doing so, its not just the head that was crushed- his family gets affected, his partners, people who depend on the partnerships, their families, the commendations of the company reputation, people's work, their ability to find new work. Decades, sometimes hundreds of years of vestments, undone in a blink as a result of covetous behavior
That is why the title "sleeping slaves" is an accurate identifier to his arc. You turn peoples lives into an unconscious drone of toil until they eventually keel over from disenfranchisement. What Giorno did was shatter the illusion built by Diavalo's fiendish deeds. By adding back the cause to his reality, Giorno essentially triggered a cascade of causality and forced them all to happen simultaneously (or sequentially)
We all have to die, but in Diavolo's case, he is forced to play out the instances where a person might experience death WITHIN the world he created. How many issues of turmoil and strife had he caused by toying with his ability? Hundreds? Thousands? How about eternity since that is the nature of the universe, it will never end because life manifests into new forms whether from mastodon to nudibranch
It's not really a question of whether it was deserved, instead its an axiom of how death is abominable to life.
Perfect

Amazing amazing interpretation!
The hilarity of The Big Bad Boss being the secondary part of his Big Bad Stand is spectacular.
I really like the idea of kc actually being doppios stand! On top of the reasons you stated, it also fits him being the personality thats „skipping“ whenever things get too dangerous.
But i think you are very much reading that existsnce theme into part 5..
-the mysterious aspects of his birth make a lot more sense when considering that he is supposed to symbolize the devil and this is some sort of divine/unholy birth
-he is looking for trish, in order to erase clues about his existsnce, why would he work against himself if he wanted to exist? He also did not let her grow up on purpose, he just couldnt find her because her mother hid her well - those were times before the global network, it was a lot harder to find someone that is hidden
-diavolos death was the right one not because it was the only one possible or in some abstract way the opposite of his wish, it was right because of the eternal cruelty he would have brought upon the world, had he won and gotten the arrow. I imagine it would be as the song epitath and the court of the crimson king by king crimson describe
It's incredible how "he started Mafia" is so downplayed here
I think i can get a list of so many people here in Italy that could say something like "yeah, deserved" for someone that would've done something like that. Now, i know that the Mafia in Jojo is a bit different so like, it's kinda hard to get the point from someone outside, but it's basically a pleague.
Anyway you can say that he got in an eternal punishment as he would get in a real hell, so i think it's fair game anyway you look at it
about what you said at the start of the video around 2:00 - 2:22
this is EXACTLY why i want a quick (no matter how insignificant) Diavolo death scene in part 9
the universe may have been reset, but Diavolo's fate of never meeting his fate should basically continue, no matter which timeline we're in (in my opinion)
It's not the same universe as the reset one though.
Great video! I like the theory of how King crimson is the second personality so king crimson is just Diablo
Ah so he's based on the saying
👉“The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world that he did not exist.”👈
this vid helped me to understand diavolo/doppio much better and i really appreciate that you called it DID rather than multiple personality disorder!!
The issue is that Diavolo existed before KC. They weren't always stand users. When they went to Egypt they got the arrows.
0:34 this goes so hard

9:30 Diavolo is also the one who is always power hungry, always trying to control fate and shape his own future, Diavolo is always the one trying to find out what's going to happen to him and his future.
top 10 jojo deaths, nr. 1 - doppio death
Being that diavolo's was the only villain to not get a power up I wanted to come up with something and the you're video apeard so I thought to myself " ah I'll coment my strange mumbo jumbo K.C.R theory on this video since it's talking about diavolo"
Anyway hopefully you don't disappear for another 5-8 months after this vid.
Anyway keep up the good work ur vids are top tier!
He isn't mentally ill he has split personality disorder that personality is still a person with common sense and emotions
It's just the fact that his split personality is cruel that's all
Diavolo essentially got sent to Christian hell by Giornio, the son of Dio
what if diavolo actually could skip for 40 seconds instead of 10 because of the make up and the octopus hair
@@JabberwokArtz I can see that. Maybe even a perpetrator along with that too

Good timing then haha, but I'm glad you enjoyed!
the jojo timeline if risotto created metal blades out of his uretha:
People seems to forgets that Diavolo is the head of the mafia, the strongest one at that. With it's business includes gambling, and drug trafficking. And if "Purple Haze: Feedback" novel is canon, then you know how f up these drugs are
Didn't read all comments so I don't know if this was already addressed by others but there are couple disagreements I have:
- KC or epitaph as Doppio's stand.
Diavalos defeat was the right way because it lets any shitpost become canon to jojo
🤦♂️ never surprised with the most replayed part of the video.
According to a friend that watches Jojo, Diavolo isn’t dying infinitely, instead he’s feeling the pain of every death.
9:47 "making a mistake" shows star wars the last jedi
I actually feel bad for Doppio because it’s like Diavolo has been using him for his own success and he cared about him only because if he gets hurt then he gets hurt too
Diavolo tried to defend his position and defended himself from people trying to kill him and gets DEATH LOOPED
Damn, after watching this I realized Doppio is my new favorite jojo’s villian
Very interesting perspective, however I do have at least one idea against KC is doppios, if doppio was the original personality, and he developed Diavolo, then I’d say he did so as a defense mechanism, a way to cope with what ever trauma he was trying to get away from, and KC can be summarized as the ultimate escapists ability, all your problems and mistakes are gone from you until you say so, so I’d argue that because Diavolo is the coping mechanism for escapism, KC as the stand belonging to Diavolo reflects that
I always saw it as the other way around.
Diavolo is the original, Doppio is the created persona.
remember it is canon that since diavolo has infinite deaths it can be something ridiculous like being farted on.
Given this is JoJo's... honestly, maybe.
Holy fuck this actually makes sense and it even perpetuates the endless death loop he suffers since he supposedly commited the same mistakes.
"None of them are more confusing then the main antagonist of part five, Diavolo"
Toru: Allow me to introduce myself.
Diavolo. Forever dead
Doppio. HEHE NEW BODY TO LIVE IN
I think what's interesting is that Fate in Jojo is all but confirmed to not be just an abstract concept, but a natural force like gravity
So the idea that Diavolo was never meant to exist, sort of makes him this strange and rare phenomenon like a lunar eclipse.
PS:
The idea of King Crimson being Doppio's stand is interesting.
Tho an argument could be made for the reverse.
As Epitaph only shows you the future, it doesn't give you the ability to change it or effect it in any way, reflecting how helpless Doppio is on his own
While the idea of erasing mistakes and removing obstacles with brute force seems to be more Diavolo's style
I love when people make vids about part 5
It's my favorite part and doppio is just a walking bag of weird

0:41 funny valentine:
Diavolo couldn't use the arrow to turn into requiem because Doppio is the one that needs to do that hes the real stand user of King Crimson. This makes sense and is a good theory
Prove it.
My favorite school idol: *Diavolo*
To he honest i think that both Epitaph and King Crimson belong to Diavolo.
I think that because when Doppio died in Bucciarati's body neither Epitaph or King Crimson disappeared.
Now I can actually watch this video and know what the heck you’re talking about! Super cool video my dude

(No shame at the VA, he did a good job but saying "King Crimson!" angrily will never eclipse Koyasu's bellowing of "ZA WAARUDO!" )
And all this as a followup to Kira, who is to me the best a weird Jojo villain can ever be.
I can see your points that you brought up and about fate, that's actually the reason I hate Bites the Dust.
😆 (Fun fact, they almost added him to Eyes of Heaven, he has a character model in the game, but they took him out last minute.)
Also if you play this game, it will allow you to experience the old meme of Josuke fixing Johnny's legs and then re-crippling him. :D
(For context, Josuke's ultimate attack is a reference to his beatdown of Fungami Yuya, he heals the enemy to full health and then beats them back down to zero.
Diavolo solos your verse. He just has to die after and it's canon
This video is just so smooth, the editing, the voice. Good job, actually makes me wanna rewatch p5
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed!
i dont agree with the theory of diavolo being in alt dimension, her daughter could feel his presence, i think after pucci destroyed the timeline diavolo's torture ended too
Humans are unable to comprehend what forever actually means. No one ever could possibly deserve diavolo’s fate.
My theory is doppio gets to live peaceful life then it switches to diavolo right before death so to diavolo he just dies over and over while doppio gets all the good part of life
The Doppio being the main body thing also makes sense because during the soul swap he gets his own body, while Diavolo still shares with someone else
Never though existing would be that hard
8:13 might be my favorite moment from the entire part.
well really that entire fight. the animation, artwork, story, characters, you name it.
