Note that Pillarmen represent the Jojo value of standing for yourself like Nietzschean supermen, while rock humans follow Diavolo's anti-value of avoidance and parasitism. Perfect culmination of waiting so long, that you stop thinking and turn into a rock. For this reason I assume the meteor that builds the stand arrows, is itself some kind of alien rock human, that wakes up and stirs the competition against the human race, pushing them to develop their highest potential in stand powers.
Yes I had to specify ‘fictional’ vampires. No disrespect to all the good, honest, hard-working vampires out here IRL. Don’t wanna get cancelled for vampiphobic hate speech or whatever. 2023, you never know...

Wamuu is a top 10, maybe top 5 Jojos character for me. I am not ashamed to admit I felt myself tearing up when he died. Sure he's a "villain," but he's a better person than even some Joestars. Wamuu unironically deserves his own spin off series.
TBH I found his reveal and fight more compelling than the Awaken scene, and I think Rubicon is the most under rated JoJo's theme. I also think that he had so much potential had he escaped and reunited with the others. I really wish they'd add him to the fighting game.
@Eggplant Dave I believe so he is still somewhere in Speedwagon foundation's laboratory under high UV light. Never got any news from him again then the universe reset. Rip lol
Ong, it’s because they were portrayed as gods pretty much, their physique, skill, strength, poses etc. just made them feel like unreachable targets, which got even worse when Kars used the mask on himself
Yeah it didn't feel like figuring out the gimmick of the villain, it felt like an impossibly powerful obstacles that stood in the way of our protagonists.
But for real, in a series of incredibly high quality villains, they likley get overlooked because of it. I only gained appreciation for them after rewatching the series and I paid more attention to the story structure. Love your videos😁
Yeah no I agree it’s not so much any of the villains are bad, it’s just that they continue to get better after each part. Also thank you I’m happy you enjoy!
Well it's the perfect course of action Part 1 must be worse than part 2 and so the same for part 3 and then repeat the cycle, not because one is bad, but because they must always improve
The problem of hamon bot being used anymore is that it could be used for more than killing undead. It can heal wounds, make you climb walls and even walk on water. Those aspects being ignored is what makes me feel disappointed, as it seems that most parts need someone who can somewhat work as a healer.
To be fair, the damage everyone was taking post part 2 would leave most people in the hospital or dead, and then find out they recovered minutes later. Black Knight from Month Python bad.
Who said Joseph wasn’t using Harmon to heal the Crusaders on their way to Egypt to fight DIO? They were taking a lot of damage in their fights with other Stand users so someone had to play the role of the healer
I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again. Kars, despite how little he's discussed now, how overshadowed he is by the other light-sensitive main villain in this show, and how irrelevant to the story he is at this point, is still one of my favorite characters in this series. I'll never forget how unbelievably badass he was to me when I first watched Battle Tendency, and how much I loved the Pillar Men's dynamic. It's nice to see someone talking about them again, and how many commenters here still find the Pillar Men as appealing as I do.
he absolutely incinerated everyone with that one Also I get too much sun, my sport requires me to be outside for like 8+ hours a day and I refuse sun screen 😅
When watching Part 4 with Josuke not needing/wanting his Dad Joseph I was almost shouting at him 'But he's best JoJo! Coolest, strongest, defeated pillar men etc etc!!! BEST DAD''
I love Joseph but from josuke perspective he was a deadbeat that left is mom, who he is very close to and didnt bother contacting him until he was senile and even then it was because of stand shenanigans, not him.
See, this video proves that Araki is a genius on so many levels, if he made such a perfect villain trio in the 2nd part of jojo, imagine what will jojolands' villain be like. This video only speaks about the aspect of the villains in battle tendency, there's so much more to talk about in the whole manga and anime ! I could spend hours, days, heck even months watching videos like this, especially this well thought out, planned and overall made. Good job man, earned yourself a sub.
I love the idea that the pillar men were already the perfect lifeforms when working together and I think it contrasts well with the fact that Kars just did not care about AC/DC and Wamuu discarding the perfection they already had by striving for perfection for himself, leading ot his own defeat.
I love the pillar men in jojo thre really good as in own right but ACDC is kinda disappointing and least favorite to many but still holds a role in the story overall there a masterpiece in part 2
It definitely would’ve been nice to see more of him, especially since he was the one who originally joined Kars. We probably could’ve seen more if it went more in depth with the Pillarmen back story and maybe some other things, just based on how the story was paced probably not sadly
what? ACDC always felt pretty cool and had a great fight. If anything I would say kars was disappointing as he is meant to be the main villain but is far less interesting than the other two
@@plugshirt1762 I agree with you about Esidisi, but I also think you misunderstand Kars. I find Kars fascinating, but you really need to pay attention to all the subtleties of his actions and read between the lines to get his complexity.
@@ANPC-pi9vu with Kars I meant more so he is less interesting fight wise. As a character though none of them were particularly complex but they were still pretty enjoyable and great as obstacles to go up against
I only disagree with saying that Hammon has no purpose anymore. It allows people to heal lethal w9nds, walk on water, scale any surface, and control objects with enhanced properties. I'd say it's more useful and versatile than most stands
Whamu has to be one of my favourite antagonists, just the level of honor he had through it all, could have ended the risk instantly but gave Jojo a chance and even in death gave him respect. Like damn hes the only jojo villian i really wish became a jobro but didnt.
I absolutely love the Pillar men and it's really nice to see something focusing on them as a group with their dynamics as often people just pick out that they only like one and consider the others meh. Despite that part of what they have going for them is they're a trio with a long history. There's plenty to be said about each of their behaviour for anyone willing look over their scenes and pick things apart, but I guess part 2 being so fast paced means not as many people are inclined to do so the way they are for longer parts.
@@strongsuccessfulweeb1400 it does have its issues but Part 2 is a classic case of: I know its objectively not the best part, but its still my favorite. Because the good stuff about Part 2 is just so unreasonably out there and awesome that the pacing issues etc. dont matter^^
One thing I found cool about the pillar men was that they were unaffected by Dio. Every other villian was affected in someway by Dio, and without Dio wouldn't have come into existence/villiantence however the pillar men would've still come into existence with Dio absence.
Part 2 has always been my favorite part and the Pillar Men theme has been a favorite forever. The final battle between Kars and Joseph also stands as such a testament to how powerful Kars is, as well as how much Joseph thinks outside the box. Kars STILL isn’t dead and that’s just crazy
FUCKING LOVED THIS VIDEO. just recently got into jojo and im currently in mid part 3 but god ive been wanting to cure my part 2 hyperfixation for so long and this def helped. absolutely loved how u covered them. absolutely my favorite villians so far and you did them justice
Thank you I'm glad you think so! Also I feel you, they are such great villain's, but it's difficult because the further you get into Jojo the more you start to like the later parts more, not because the previous or earlier parts are bad, but because it just some how gets better
Since you mentioned hamon, I want to say that it was not so useless in the subsequent parts. On the contrary, he was too strong. So although hamon was used against vampires, it also acted against people and was very effective, especially in the second part. For example, with the help of hamon they read minds, fastened objects (icicles), healed, hypnotized, used to walk on sharp spikes and even killed (Caesar stopped the heart of a Nazi soldier, and Joseph asked Caesar for a double attack on Susie so as not to kill her). If in the third and subsequent parts hamon appeared together with Stands, then it would be too strong, the same D'Arby could simply be hypnotized or read his thoughts and find out the secret of Dio's Stand. Stand Yellow Temperance wouldn't pose any threat at all, as it was some kind of liquid that was quite visible to ordinary people (which allowed the dude to disguise himself as other people). Or a water stand (can't remember the name) could be paralyzed with hamon. The same could be done with stands of 4, 5 and 6 parts.
In part one they touch on the healing abilities of Hamon. That would have been a useful skill to keep around, despite being outclassed by stands in every other way.
My only problem with not using Hamon on part3 was the fact that they know they are going to fight an inmortal vampire with a Stand that they dont know what it did. DIO himself avoided to hit Joseph directly since he knew that Joseph was a Hamon user and dangerous for him. May be teach some hamon to the guys during the travel. I dont know. It didnt have to be perfect control but just to make it run in the body would have made a defense against DIO.
@@Madheim777but based on the difference between part 1 and 2, it is often implied that the ability to unlock Hamon seems to be also hereditary... as in the Joestar Bloodline and the Zepelli bloodline. I have to assume that Caesar never knew about Hamon until meeting Lisa Lisa, and Joseph unlocking his latent Hamon ability was more of an uncontrolled accident, similar to how Josuke first discovered Crazy Diamond. So by this logic, since Elizabeth Joestar (Lisa Lisa) is Jotaro's biological great-grandmother, Joseph being Jotaro's biological grandfather, and both being Hamon users, it's not hard to imagine that all of the Joestar bloodline (excpet Giorno) would have some form of latent talent in Hamon
You've done analysis videos on Dio Brando/DIO, Kira, Diavolo and now the Pillar men. Only our favourite prime number counting, Dio admiring, Joestar hating, main cast killing priest is left.
Not only has hamon "in-universe" served its purpose by beating the pillar men, but from a meta perspective, we were just about done with it anyway. These guys were the absolute pinnacle of vampire-based threats, a big step above Part 1 Dio in terms of strength, and introducing new villains who are "vampires but stronger" would be boring power creep. With Stands, Araki can continue being creative without trying to find a way to justify a new villain being "stronger" than what came before.
Both could have been done keep hamon while also introduce Stronger threats or not who said a power creep needed to happen or one that big? It could have peak and stayed at around that kars level. Hamon was already balanced especially since it could be disrupted if the users breathing wasn't right or if they were too badly injured etc. I found it quite creative in the ways things had to be overcome with that limitation. Hamon also had interesting supplementary abilities such as walk in water, climb walls, longevity, picking up water literally lol it had some neat qualifies that stands just don't have. What would really be great is a hybrid form like Joseph had keep both hamon and stands around it would have been perfect for none stand users to have to defend themselves with. If I were araki I would have kept both and had both side by side. Because it seemed to be what the idea was in part 3
I like to think about pillermen as: Kars - soul - basicly vengful spirit (whenever his companion dies, he mentions how he will avenge them) who cares mostly about achieving his life goal ADCD - heart - besides the whole thing with his burning blood, he shows most emotions out of pillarmen and even cries out during battle Wamuu - mind - he isn't called genius of battle without reason. He also doesnt bother with sentimentality and focuses on logical respect Santana - body - he is outside of main trio, as he is just husk, but i wanted to mention him I would argue that kars and wamuu could switch places as kars is an inventor and wamuu is a proud spirit, but i dont find kars desires as those made by deep thinking
Santana also moved on instinct in battle, which was something to behold in it's own right. I think if he had escaped and reunited with the others, he had a lot of potential that just needed some polishing. The poor guy didn't even care about killing Joseph, he just wanted out of that lab. He didn't deserve his fate. As to the rest, I agree. Also, I think Esidisi really loved Kars. Whamu was willing to die for his personal honor more so than for Kars' goals, but Esidisi sacrificed himself in his desperation to get the Aja for Kars. He could have waited for Kars once he figured out Lisa Lisa had it instead of risking rushing in so close to dawn, and he also could have used Suzie's body to escape and regenerate instead of mailing the stone and then trying to stop them from intercepting it. I think Esidisi's true downfall was being the sentimental Pillar Man. But it also makes me love him the most. I really wish Kars hadn't humored his companions and that they remained goal focused and acting as a unit, but he respected them too much to deny them their personal ambitions. I think people overlook that positive aspect to Kars. They just take to heart what Kars said in battle with Joseph to manipulate Joseph's emotions, when his actions always proved otherwise. He truly did care about and respect Whamu and Esidisi. Maybe not so much Santana, but his indifference only read as malice, once again, when he was manipulating Joseph's emotions.
@@ANPC-pi9vuI agree. If you notice closely in the series, kars gets more “aggressive” when he loses something important. When esidisi died, kars was unaware. But wondered where he was off to, but when he found out, there was a shift in his behavior. When Wamuu died, that was kars’ final straw. After that entire arc, kars was just out of it. He was once so reserved and calm, but now he’s just out of control.
Fun fact: The Pillar Men are the only ones that fans favour (to my knowledge) the localised names over the original, with the exception of Santana (partly because Santviento is dumb) Cars < Kars AC/DC < Esidisi Wham < Wamuu Santana > Santviento
@@Yominicationyeah but the end result is part 3 onwards feeling like a completely different franchise. It doesn’t help that he keeps replacing the main characters so there’s no one left to connect the show to the vampire story this thing started off as
The Pillar Men as a group are my favorite antagonists in all of JoJo's. They just work so well as a unit, they're incredibly intimidating, and they command the attention of pretty much any scene they're in. IMO Battle Tendency is JoJo's in its purest, most concentrated form, and this carries over to make the Pillar Men the most "JoJo-y" of the villains.
Very well made. 2 is my favorite part and I'll always appreciate this villain group. For some very strange reason, a lot of folk think 2 has nothing to do with anything but not only is it the most directly follow up part to the one that came before it, it's also technically the part that sets everything in motion for the Joestars. And it's all because of the pillarmen. Without them Dio wouldn't get the mask which alone starts a domino effect for the whole Joestar lineage, but it's also only because of his battle with the pillarmen that Joseph took on the duty of looking into the more super natural aspects of his family between parts 2 and 3, which led to him meeting Avdol, learning about Stands when Dio awakened, and being able to educate Jotaro and Holly on the matte and Jotaro wouldn't have later been able to take up that mantle Joseph had once he got too old. Speaking of Jotaro and Holly, without part 2 they wouldn't exist cause it also was due to the pillarmen that Joseph trained under Lisa Lisa which lead to him meeting good ol Suzi Q, who's a very necessary factor in the existence of Holly and Jotaro after all.
loved the video. if you'd have interest in talking about it, i'd be fun if you'd discuss the topic of "did characters before part 3 have Stands?" (for example, Donovan, Tarkus, ect.). but that's just a subject i'm personally interested in the discussion of, i think it's a fun lore thing if they were retroactively Stand users, is all. just a suggestion. that aside, i'm glad to see Pillarmen appreciation. while ACDC wasn't very interesting as a character to me, his power is awesome, and the same can be said power-wise for Wham and Cars. those two specifically had deeply interesting personalities, love them. frankly, Cars' deep love and appriciation for nature is a great character trait to me. he admires animals and plants because he could never be like them. in ways, they are above him. humans, however, are nothing to him. they are just pricks. i really like also how, once he surpasses all lifeforms, he's like "lol squirrel eating squirrel". and, i doubt i have to talk about Wham being great, since Joseph himself speaks of his respect for him like as a warrior. i would love if Araki made a one-shot based around the Pillarmen, and their adventures before meeting Joseph. a short series about the events between part 2 and 3 would also be cool. i'd love if Araki would follow Joseph and Lisa Lisa's adventures, hunting down the remaining masks around the world or something. i'm just spit balling really, but yea.
While I'd like to agree that Kars' ultimate shortcoming was that he abandoned his group to pursue his ideals alone, the truth is more complicated than that. It's more like he traded one perfection for another, and it would have worked out fantastically for him if not for pure luck on Joseph's part combined with Kars getting overconfident in his own new untested abilities. The overconfidence wouldn't have even been a problem if it didn't lead him to fight at the volcano, a strategic blunder that costed him everything but even then only because of Joseph's luck. To put it another way, in regards to accomplishing his goals Kars did almost nothing wrong. He didn't trade in perfection for something inferior, and he was actually so efficient at getting the job done that by all means it SHOULD have actually worked. He simply got unlucky, that's all. I'd go so far as to say that among every Jojo antagonist, Perfect Kars is still the one with the most intimidating presence. With others who come after, you're intimidated by what they might do. With Kars, it's not only what he might do but the sheer futility of trying to do anything to him. He's truly invincible in every way aside from the one specific niche weakness of getting ejected into space, a weakness that nobody could ever reasonably try to exploit deliberately and that Joseph ended exploiting purely by accident.
The thing that made me more sade than Hamon not really showing up in the future. Was joseph mostly being turned into a joke. I kept hoping from part 3 onward that we would get just one more "you're about to say"
Battle Tendency is my favourite part of Jojo. Going through stardust crusaders the first time was a slog and almost made me want to quit right there. In retrospect I like it, especially after they reach Egypt, but I miss hamon and strategy so much.
By far my favorite part. The comedy, the action, the story, the sly/wits, and the tears. Not to mention Jojo and Caesar were just too badass and cool. 😎
YESSS! I’m always here for Pillar men love! Especially my love, Wamuu!! For an earlier point, I think hamon is subtly used throughout the series, not just Joseph. In the final battle with DIO, Jotaro punches him in the leg, sending energy through him, which I interpret are as blast of hamon (which nicely rounds out star platinum’s ability to use every trick in his arsenal. And since Jotaro is part of the hamon clan, he has a natural ability to use it in raw form). And then there’s Giorno, whose name literally means Day. And given Gold Experience’s life powers, I would say GE is practically hamon incarnate. I also find it interesting that the pillar men awoke under the colosseum, which is also where Giorno had his final battle with Diavolo On a final note, I once read a theory that Kars could be important to part 7 and beyond. When Pucci reset the universe, Kars was a rock flying through space, so he didn’t get reset with it, changing the entire course of history. Interesting thought!
Every time I hear Queen’s “Princes of the Universe”, I think of Kars, Eisidisi and Waamu. The lyrics of the song and overall battle-themed synths were written for “Highlander”, of course, but they fit really well in the story of Pillar Men.
I seriously enjoyed the Pillarmen. What’s a little exciting is the fact that there is still one remaining. The self-proclaimed Ultimate Lifeform. He drifts in space, but whose to say he was not caught in orbit? Whose to say he wouldn’t be found, or fall back into our atmosphere. Anywho, all I’m saying, is that, *there is a chance.*
There's an author on Ao3 who's got a couple of fics about that, but they are Yaoi involving Kars reuniting with Esidisi who is reincarnated as a human. They are great fics, though, if you are interested. 'Zero Hour' and 'We Turn that Old Wheel Round Again' by Dratinigirl If you are looking for a wrathful return of Kars, these aren't that, however.
kars sought to do what humans have done for thousands of years. evolve. overcome our weaknesses. years of evolving medicine, ore effective medicine, more weapons, poisons, tools, everything. so much of these discoveries have bloodshed on their name if we look at it like the pillar men elders did, then let me put it like this. the balance of life is essential, our weaknesses are there for a reason. one of humans weaknesses is disease, and were we to get rid of that then who knows how much harm we'll do. but when you look at it from a human perspective, of course you'd wanna cure diseases! everyone always talks about a cure for cancer, no one is opposing this. so, when kars searches for the equivalent of a cure for cancer, why are we ridiculing him for that? he is a man who evolves and overcomes constantly, yet he is seen as a villian. but it's so strange to me that kars was nothing more than a simple scientist looking to cure his species greatest weaknest but he was almost killed for it
Someone who gets it! I couldn't help but see Kars as the true protagonist! Also, we can observe for a fact that his tribe's elders had been wrong. They were superstitious fools. It kind of reminds me of TTGL... The Anti-Spiral trying to create stasis and limit human potential, leading to humanity being driven underground.
I''ve been saying it for years. DIO is not the most influential antagonist. Its Kars. Kars is the only reason why most of the antagonists got as far as they did. He's actually my favourite antagonist amongst all of the parts antagonists because his abilities, talents, intelligence, and he's the only one who has truly succeeded the majority of his plan. Plus, within one of the JoJonium books, Araki has stated that if Kars saw what a Stand was, he could create Stands. Not manifest. Not unlock. Not awaken. Flat out CREATE. STANDS. Which means if he survived beyond Part 2, then he's mowing down so many antagonists because he's an OP, busted character.
That was an amazing video, and I'll say this, kars is undeniably one of the most dangerous characters in all of jojo, if you put him in the position of any joestar I can guarantee that he'll kill the main villain easier than the joestars, whenever I saw a main villain, it never gave me goosebumps and the feeling if terror that kars did, my favorite villain above Yoshikage kira and Funny Valentine
I'm curious. What would happen if a Pillar Man and a human were to mate? Would the hybrid child age like the Pillar Men, would it gain the Pillar Man's abilities, or would it be like a normal human? And would they be compatible with the power of a Stand?
This is the best part for me. When I was reading as a child they literally scared me at that time All part is always on full bizarre action and you can't imagine how Joseph will manage to survive those monsters :D Even Santana is OP
just realising something stupid, Kars made the stone masks to not be killed by the sun, and his masks not only don't do that, but give that weakness to humans?? how do you fail so hard 😂
I always wondered how the pillarmen would fair in other shows where the protags deal with similar enemies. Castlevania, Demon Slayer, ect........ I think Demon Slayer would be particularly interesting as cutting off their heads wouldn't work entirely, however you could argue due to their heads being their weakness that they might be more vulnerable than your average Demon if the Demon slayers learned this. The pillarmen have vast intellect and experience vs demons and they definitely have skills that can outshine many blood Demon arts. It's hard to say how well they can do. As a note I think Demon Slayers would have to kill them quickly unlike the demons as they can read people's minds and learn the Demon Slayer HQ rather quickly unlike Muzan.
Yeah that's what's fun about them. They're just OP enough to where you can compare them to other series and see if that series can give them a run for its money, but not OP to the point where its just boring.
@Antwan yea. Antagonist like that are always fun. I like to use them as a general scale. If a character can beat them without hax they have to be superhuman or gimmicky in some way.
By becoming The Ultimate Life Form, Kars Ultimately doomed himself. The Pillar Man was Ultimate, but only The Pillar *Men* were perfect. In his blind pursuit of Ultimateness, Kars forfeited what made him unstoppable; the Greatest Power of all- Friendship. A lone Pillar will not endure, and the taller it grows, the sooner it falls. But 3 Pillars united together will stand firm forever. (Innuendo totally intended).
If dio didnt have the mask, he either A: would've just been arrested or shot by the police OR he wouldve gone into hiding or leaving when jojo figured him out. So the whole story wouldnt unfold, instead you would have part 2 skipped cause no pillar men and no part 1 no mask stuff. So you would have part 4 still albeit a little diffrent and the whole joestar fate rewritten
Wait... I didn't remember that the pillarmen were on the Colosseum. This makes the whole final act of Golden Wind tied to this, the epitome of life represented on the Chariot Requiem had a pretty close effect as the intended by the pillar men
Part Two will always be my favorite part in some way/form, even if I feel other Parts do more and are more grandiose. Sure later parts got more intricate, intense, outlandish and ridiculous...but there's just a purity in how Battle Tendency worked and was. Young Joseph remains my favorite protagonist of any part (followed by Josuke), the Pillar Men as a group are way up there for villains for me (as individuals they fall significantly lower on my ranking & thus I always group em together) their theme is just timeless and will still be the best imo. I loved the humor and action, having training montages alongside characters problem solving in the midst of battle is fantastic. Which is something I kinda feel is lacking as the JoJo franchise moved on, I kinda hate we don't have characters learn their new abilities and Stands in a meaningful way...we SORTA get that, but it's mostly a offhanded comment and feels skipped over a little. I feel Part 2 doesn't get near enough the love and respect that it should.
It’s Pillar Men… at this point I’m too scared to change the title 😭

Ong, it’s because they were portrayed as gods pretty much, their physique, skill, strength, poses etc. just made them feel like unreachable targets, which got even worse when Kars used the mask on himself
@@gwilkes5325 exactly bruh

But for real, in a series of incredibly high quality villains, they likley get overlooked because of it. I only gained appreciation for them after rewatching the series and I paid more attention to the story structure.
Love your videos😁
Yeah no I agree it’s not so much any of the villains are bad, it’s just that they continue to get better after each part. Also thank you I’m happy you enjoy!
Well it's the perfect course of action
Part 1 must be worse than part 2 and so the same for part 3 and then repeat the cycle, not because one is bad, but because they must always improve

You know what would be kinda cool what if Araki did a mini series detailing the adventures of the pillarmen traveling around as they went everywhere

See, this video proves that Araki is a genius on so many levels, if he made such a perfect villain trio in the 2nd part of jojo, imagine what will jojolands' villain be like.
When I saw Esidisi appear at Kars' back when their whole tribe condemned and attacked Kars, I fell in love. He is so loyal and brave.
It also slows down aging. It's too useful of an ability not to have even with stands around
Also stands like Stone Free would me so broken with hamon.
@@flowtho7742and of course with Joseph that was conveniently forgotten.

To be honest, the whole part 2 was perfect in my opinion.

One thing I found cool about the pillar men was that they were unaffected by Dio. Every other villian was affected in someway by Dio, and without Dio wouldn't have come into existence/villiantence however the pillar men would've still come into existence with Dio absence.
what about kira
Kira’s father got the arrow from Dio, and that’s how he got his stand
Diavolo wouldve ruled the world if Dio didnt happen
Hell, you could say Dio was affected by the Pillar Men since they had made the Stone Mask (Mostly Kars).
Dio might have been the main antagonizing force behind the series, but Kars was the antagonizing force behind Dio.
YES!! FINALLY, someone talking about these boys! The Pillar Men are easily my favorite villains, and I love seeing people discussing them more!

True, i always tought that the pillar men werent talked about as much as they deserved it, especially if were talking about AC/DC and Santana.
In part one they touch on the healing abilities of Hamon. That would have been a useful skill to keep around, despite being outclassed by stands in every other way.
Literally the zepelli family are well known doctors who use hamon in their medical practices
It didnt have to be perfect control but just to make it run in the body would have made a defense against DIO.
hamon takes a week to learn even rushed and they killed dio the last day so also dio had a counter to hamon hopr this helps
It's not that everyone can learn Hamon. In part 1, Zeppeli tried to unlock Hamon on Speedwagon and he couldn't.
In the end, DIO did achieve his goal:Cement himself as what everyone percieves as the superior enemy of the Joestars
I like to think about pillermen as:
Kars - soul - basicly vengful spirit (whenever his companion dies, he mentions how he will avenge them) who cares mostly about achieving his life goal
ADCD - heart - besides the whole thing with his burning blood, he shows most emotions out of pillarmen and even cries out during battle
Wamuu - mind - he isn't called genius of battle without reason. He also doesnt bother with sentimentality and focuses on logical respect
Santana - body - he is outside of main trio, as he is just husk, but i wanted to mention him
I would argue that kars and wamuu could switch places as kars is an inventor and wamuu is a proud spirit, but i dont find kars desires as those made by deep thinking
Yeah I‘d switch Wamuu and Kars tbh
But was Sanviento ever actually killed?

The Pillar Men, Wamuu especially, are my favorite characters and Part 2 is my favorite part of the series. Even after watching what came after.
Thank you! Also yeah even a short one shot of Kars and ACDC training Wamuu would be really cool just to see a bit more of them
@@AntwanShiro for sure!!! they're basically his foster fathers, afterall!
Perfection wasn't becoming the ultimate life form but the friends we made along the way

Always loved the column fellows
I also find it interesting that the pillar men awoke under the colosseum, which is also where Giorno had his final battle with Diavolo
On a final note, I once read a theory that Kars could be important to part 7 and beyond. When Pucci reset the universe, Kars was a rock flying through space, so he didn’t get reset with it, changing the entire course of history. Interesting thought!
I started truly appreciating Part 2 after I re-watched it. It's basically perfect. And Wamuu… Man, I wish I've seen more of him.
Wamuu is heavy underrated if you ask me, his death got me tearing up
I just realised Whammu and Esidisi are reflections of Ceaser and Joseph.
Every time I hear Queen’s “Princes of the Universe”, I think of Kars, Eisidisi and Waamu. The lyrics of the song and overall battle-themed synths were written for “Highlander”, of course, but they fit really well in the story of Pillar Men.

Man, I loved the pillar men as antagonist. Also, Part 2 is in fact my favorite part (with Part 7 being a close second due to its story).
I seriously enjoyed the Pillarmen.
What’s a little exciting is the fact that there is still one remaining. The self-proclaimed Ultimate Lifeform. He drifts in space, but whose to say he was not caught in orbit?

There's an author on Ao3 who's got a couple of fics about that, but they are Yaoi involving Kars reuniting with Esidisi who is reincarnated as a human. They are great fics, though, if you are interested. 'Zero Hour' and 'We Turn that Old Wheel Round Again' by Dratinigirl

@@ANPC-pi9vu thank you
kars sought to do what humans have done for thousands of years. evolve. overcome our weaknesses. years of evolving medicine, ore effective medicine, more weapons, poisons, tools, everything. so much of these discoveries have bloodshed on their name
if we look at it like the pillar men elders did, then let me put it like this. the balance of life is essential, our weaknesses are there for a reason. one of humans weaknesses is disease, and were we to get rid of that then who knows how much harm we'll do. but when you look at it from a human perspective, of course you'd wanna cure diseases! everyone always talks about a cure for cancer, no one is opposing this. so, when kars searches for the equivalent of a cure for cancer, why are we ridiculing him for that? he is a man who evolves and overcomes constantly, yet he is seen as a villian. but it's so strange to me that kars was nothing more than a simple scientist looking to cure his species greatest weaknest but he was almost killed for it
Someone who gets it!
8:40 I thought those were the other Pillermen.
They are but the events he’s talking about did occur
Araki has said on multiple occasions that he's only real regret with the Pillar Men is he used them too early in the series.
Harmon users could have been used to allow non stand users to make contact with stands in order to damage them
I'm curious. What would happen if a Pillar Man and a human were to mate? Would the hybrid child age like the Pillar Men, would it gain the Pillar Man's abilities, or would it be like a normal human? And would they be compatible with the power of a Stand?
What’s interesting is that Giorno returns to coliseum to create the true ultimate life form.
The pillar men are one of my absolute favorite things about all of Jojo. Amazing antagonists.
4:57 that face is worthy of a meme 😂
Here's a question to debate about: Who would win between Kars the ultimates life form or Heaven ascended DIO with The World Over Heaven?
Kars is always gonna be my favorite jojos villain
This is the best part for me. When I was reading as a child they literally scared me at that time
All part is always on full bizarre action and you can't imagine how Joseph will manage to survive those monsters :D
Even Santana is OP
just realising something stupid, Kars made the stone masks to not be killed by the sun, and his masks not only don't do that, but give that weakness to humans?? how do you fail so hard 😂
Not to mention, Kars was pretty hot 😏
But imo JJBA part 2 was the best part, it's really peak JoJo's
Idk for sure about the piller men themselves but the Theme sure is dope ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
Those pillarmilfs go hard tho
Esidisi was canonically good friends with Sun Tzu
EYEE EYYEEE EYYYYEE YYEEEEE (best beat drop in the universe 😩🤌🏾) sassy and zesty but most MANLIEST poses in the world 🗿
Wamu is a giga chad that is all
The chariot battle between Joseph and Wamu is my favorite fight in the whole series
Kars is my fav bc he saved a dog unlike DIO
So the Pillar Men's true perfection was the friends thy made along the way?
8:13 ayo whats that ost
I'm not even joking, it's "凸】♀】♂】←巨人" the part you timestamped is towards the end of the song
Piller men: lived 1,000s of years.
Joseph:trains 30 days and uses magic tricks
