If you are genuinely confused, i think hamon is basically the amplification of natural effects, hence healing, growing flowers, and boosting magnetism. Additionally, it is conductive like electricity and so can do things like let you walk on water becuase you can channel the hamon through it, presumably doing something similar to the leaves

Jotaro:YOU SUCK, also I can stop time too now Dio:BULLSH*T, HOW Jotaro:We have similar stands Dio:What kind of leap in logic is that Edit:Guys calm down, it's a Team four star reference
I mean given how fate is a real thing in Jojo's bizarre Adventure, as seen through numerous fortune tellers in the series, and Jotaro gained Star Platinum though the psychic distress signal from Jonathan's body it makes total sense that Jotaro would gain a stand that counters The World, furthermore it is established that DIO didn't innately know The World could stop time until Enya the Hag told him so the idea of Jotaro only figuring out he can also stop time during the fight with DIO makes sense too
Funny thing is: theres actual foreshadowing in part 3 for the jotaro can stop time thing, its just that its never executed well. There are panels where dio uses hermit purple, implying that at least one of the joestars got their stands directly from dio/jonathan (since they technically got their stands because he also did), and a couple of stands have similar enough abilities to be considered "the same kind of stand" (specifically Wheel of Fortune and Strength). The problem is araki never made an effort to point this shit out and just kinda ass-pulled the time stop when he actually could have set it up decently
@@forklordbbb8684 Part 1 was written by a 27 year old writing his second manga shortly after the cancellation of his first manga. Taking a lot from what made contemporary action manga great. Part 7 was made by an experienced manga artist with decades of experience knowing what works, what doesn't and what he wants to do exactly. So that's probably it
26:36 i like how at the big climax, after describing all the zany, wacky hamon and vampire powers are over and done with and its just Jojo making a noble sacrifice, you actually called him Jonathan instead of Joenathan. Nice little touch.
i like jjba because the fights (especially after part 3) are very seldom "guy uses his ability as advertised vs guy who uses his ability as advertised", they get so creative with ideas that are usually really simple
15:57 The reason for this is that Jonathan is actually the father of shonen protags. Every trope you see? It was centred around Jonathan. Araki started a trend in Shonen manga that continued for generations onward. The pure hearted, goofy, talk no jutsu thing all started from HERE 😂
Oh man, what a lovely story with a bitter sweet ending! 😊 I sure hope Jojo’s children live a happy life and Dio definitely doesn’t return. For any reason. At all. 😀
The characters love to spell out everything that’s on their minds and what’s currently happening as simply as possible, and yet JoJo fans somehow still get confused
Hypnosis was already established with Jack the Ripper before the next encounter (that is how Dio controlled him). The tropes are riffing on existing wuxia and the like such as Hokoto no Ken, which was also fairly direct (and also great). The primary rule of hamon is that it requires bloodflow and sustained contact for non-organic materials, which is maintained. Adhesive powers seems fairly reasonable in the grand scheme. Considering that a double-punch has more heat, even if not more force, it would still better counter the freezing. The Space Ripper Stingy Eyes are actually fluid, and work off the same principle as his freezing, but in reverse (pushing out fluid instead of pulling it in).
12:16 I'd like to mention not only that Jojo came WAY before demon slayer (at least the comics) but also that hamon is just based on a real thing in their culture.
Talking is a free action in the jojo's universe. No matter how fast the villain, how close the fall, or how long you've stopped causality. Talking takes 0 of those seconds. It's in the rules
1:29 well it started because he wanted to ruin johnathan and get him kicked out/dead so he'd become the sole heir of all the joestar money, but then johnathan decided to be cool and made things cascade terribly out of his control, until dio found the stone mask in his most desperate time and decided to abandon his original, failed plan for what he believed to be infinite power that the stone mask would grant. then, in part 3, the stardust crusaders all go and fight dio because him existing made holly get very sick and not healthy, but i think he probably wouldve ignored them if they didnt go to him first. then he became very dead and not alive.
There's something overlooked about the death of Jonathan and is Dio's humanity showing up for a brief moment. Is like Dio is a child who's being playing the villain the whole time and realized how far he's gone now that he killed his brother. We will never know the true emotions that Dio felt at that moment, but the look, the surprise might had tell many things. Dio eventually accepts what he become and is the villain we know in part 3 and onwards. Remember that inside the bizarre nature of the series, Araki writes the characters with complex psychological logic.
The strangest thing to me when I first watched jojo was wondering where all the stands I heard so much about were. I literally searched it up to make sure I was watching the right show
22:05 A true gentleman never employs sneaky tactics, but wins his confrontations by sheer skill, power of will and the spirit of Justice. Tickery is something only an evil, despicable villain would do. Plus, Jonathan is just a Golden Retriever, he could never pull a scheme like that, look at him, such a good boy.
oh my god this is brilliant! I havent laughed that hard in a while. I've become so disensitised to Jojo BS that I forget how absurd it has been from the get-go. And people call Phantom Blood boring.
15:09 Just to clarify, a lot of Dio's powers are based on the classic vampire tropes depucted in the original Dracula novel, including hypnosis. So although it seems random, there is a rhyme and reason to it
5:15 What’s up with Dio’s goofy mask? Did you see the feathers flocking out his cape? That’s in the same shot! I mean, yeah his hat is goofy, but how do you comment on that when he’s wearing those shoulder wings? Lmao.
9:00 I'm so glad you brought that up. For the longest time I found out that Jojo fights are basically what would happen if two children were playing and pretend to fight, trying to out-wit each other by constantly coming up with spontaneous new powers and counter-attacks. "I do A" "Oh yea? well my B does C so it blocks your attack A, so now I attack back with D" "While you do D I do E and counter your attack with F". Before I was annoyed by the ass-pulling that was happening in this show, but once I understood that idea, I started to love it.
This may be one of the best videos on Jojo's, just because it actually questions it. Thank the algorhythm for bringing me here, I'm just going to subscribe and hope that this becomes a series. Great video :)
You haven't heard of the word Pluck/ or the phrase Plucky Kid. They're the underdog that manages to fight against the odds, like a plucky kid who scares away a burglar or a plucky cat who manages to overpower a dog.
So the 8 parts are arranged like: #1. Phantom Blood #2. Battle Tendency #3. Stardust Crusaders (1/2) #4. Stardust Crusaders (2/2) #5. Diamond is Unbreakable (1/2) #6. Diamond is Unbreakable (2/2) #7. The Golden Wind (1/2) #8. The Golden Wind (2/2) It may be a good idea to include: #9. Stone Ocean (1/2) #10. Stone Ocean (2/2) These don't have to be reviewed in a specific time frame.
@chocolatebar6785 , Steel Ball Run was never formally introduced to the U.S. Besides, the list is of the original Shōnen Jump publication and official timeline, which Steel Ball Run is not part of (taking place in 1890, where in the original, Jonathan Joestar was dead). As for the publication of Steel Ball Run, it only briefly saw use in Shōnen Jump before the series was transferred to V-Jump, a monthly Seinen magazine. Finally, the list I've included covers the Modern Anime, which Steel Ball Run was not a part of in the making of this post.
I remember reading the manga and seeing that part with the leaves. I legit just shrugged and kept going because it felt so normal at that point. Your description made me laugh at midnight lol.
I started watching the series because of the amount of memes I found everywhere haha. And Ngl I cried at that ending, it was very unexpected and I never believed that the protagonist was going to die
20:00 You werent having a fever dream, part one's use of hamon is just like Superman. Hamon is the power of the Sun and it does whatever Jojo/Superman needs to do to win, SPECIALLY that glider thing lol.
Hahahahahahahaha That was good. All hail Dr nefarious and myself for that Also now that you have said the words of protection you are to be harshly judged by my council.
i think at the time Jojo was heavily inspired by Fist of the North Star. so that probably explains some stuff. much like how later Shounen took a lot from Dragonball.
i have a theory, the way jack the ripper got in the horse is that he used the ability the pillar men use in part 2( shifting through the horse like they did through humans).

The similar stand thing also happened wit Hermit Purple and Bug Eaten
Funny thing is: theres actual foreshadowing in part 3 for the jotaro can stop time thing, its just that its never executed well. There are panels where dio uses hermit purple, implying that at least one of the joestars got their stands directly from dio/jonathan (since they technically got their stands because he also did), and a couple of stands have similar enough abilities to be considered "the same kind of stand" (specifically Wheel of Fortune and Strength). The problem is araki never made an effort to point this shit out and just kinda ass-pulled the time stop when he actually could have set it up decently
"WOW ARE STANDS SEEM TO BE SIMILAR IN STRENGTH AND SPEED I HOPE THIS DOESN'T TRANSLATE INTO OTHER SIMILARITIES ZA WARUDO"
-DIO (case sensitive)
You cannot comment if you cannot understand it properly 😂
Part 1 is normal chilll
Compared to the others yeah. Part 7 and 8 had insane plots but were both peak so I guess the more wild it is the better it is
@@forklordbbb8684
Part 1 was written by a 27 year old writing his second manga shortly after the cancellation of his first manga. Taking a lot from what made contemporary action manga great.
Part 7 was made by an experienced manga artist with decades of experience knowing what works, what doesn't and what he wants to do exactly.
So that's probably it
Megumin vs Kurisu was peak cinema,
Studio Laika would be jealous
Your next line will be "next week, you'll get my Battle Tendency review".
Next week, you-
Oh, wait, that isn’t meant for me, is it?
26:36 i like how at the big climax, after describing all the zany, wacky hamon and vampire powers are over and done with and its just Jojo making a noble sacrifice, you actually called him Jonathan instead of Joenathan. Nice little touch.
After watching this video, this title turned out to be more fitting than the ones you put on the poll
i like jjba because the fights (especially after part 3) are very seldom "guy uses his ability as advertised vs guy who uses his ability as advertised", they get so creative with ideas that are usually really simple
23:28 the spinning is for more hamon conducting in his fists and the double fists is to have more hamon overall since 2 fists are bigger than one
15:57 The reason for this is that Jonathan is actually the father of shonen protags. Every trope you see? It was centred around Jonathan. Araki started a trend in Shonen manga that continued for generations onward. The pure hearted, goofy, talk no jutsu thing all started from HERE 😂
Why on Earth is JoJo so memeable? And how the heck can it get the most references out of any media product in the world!?
"If Touhou references you multiple times, then you are probably a big deal"
@@lpfan4491 Whoooooooaaaaaaaah...
Dio's "laser eyes" are commonly called space ripper stingy eyes and are made of fluids from Dio's eyes. (maybe water or blood)
Yes, Araki is a time traveller...
Why else do you think he "looks so young" after all these years?
he's asian
16:31 I genuinely like to believe that is his stand ability and intends to hide it
23:51 now Dio it's definitely dead, definitely
"It turns out that Dio was not actually dead"
something somehting he didnt forgot his password
I am thoroughly disappointed that you did not add any of the JoJo memes. how dare u
Good vid tho
Oh man, what a lovely story with a bitter sweet ending! 😊 I sure hope Jojo’s children live a happy life and Dio definitely doesn’t return. For any reason. At all. 😀
The characters love to spell out everything that’s on their minds and what’s currently happening as simply as possible, and yet JoJo fans somehow still get confused
Great video! Now do part two 🙂
part 2 plz this was the best vid i've seen this week
5:36 I love how even tho a part 1 Dio model exists he still uses the part 3 one. lol
Yeah
Okay, now do the rest. Also, I feel like he is basically acting like how speedwagon does through certain episodes in part 1and I love it.
12:16 I'd like to mention not only that Jojo came WAY before demon slayer (at least the comics) but also that hamon is just based on a real thing in their culture.
Dude, I talked about how Jojo came out in 1987 in the same video. I was implying the opposite. That Demon Slayer took from Jojo’s.
@@BrandonRTalks fair enough
I literally searched it up to make sure I was watching the right show
26:28 this moment... i've watched JoJo before and i know Jonathan dies but... this moment still gives me chills and makes me tear a bit
I never understood why or how people could call Phantom Blood boring
It's shows people's age tbh. PB is a very typical 80s shonen series and I've noticed people who grew up with those seem to appreciate PB more.
15:09 Just to clarify, a lot of Dio's powers are based on the classic vampire tropes depucted in the original Dracula novel, including hypnosis. So although it seems random, there is a rhyme and reason to it
How about the laser eyes in the ship?
@@aquilschutte Creative liberty, but it was probably inspired by the eye hypnosis in Dracula, since Dio doesn't really use it
5:15 What’s up with Dio’s goofy mask? Did you see the feathers flocking out his cape? That’s in the same shot! I mean, yeah his hat is goofy, but how do you comment on that when he’s wearing those shoulder wings? Lmao.
Fair point. The entire outfit looks ridiculous 😭
I mean it is the 1880s
NGL part 5 Ger Giorno solos every verse except it’s own AU 💀🙏🏻
19:11 is literally a magical girl move
my guy is making fun of an anime that makes zero sense when "BIZARRE" is in it's name
Since everybody seems to be saying fun facts then I shall do my own.
Fun fact: I am the person who animated the goofy 3d animated sponsorship segment!
This may be one of the best videos on Jojo's, just because it actually questions it. Thank the algorhythm for bringing me here, I'm just going to subscribe and hope that this becomes a series. Great video :)
Pluck means courage because it's from Plucky, which is about showing courage
You haven't heard of the word Pluck/ or the phrase Plucky Kid.
They're the underdog that manages to fight against the odds, like a plucky kid who scares away a burglar or a plucky cat who manages to overpower a dog.
2:04 JO IS THAT A JOJO REFERENCE???
cant wait for this guy to do a part 8 video
In like 10 years lmao
@@BrandonRTalks also the part is like the same size as parts 1-5 combined
so the video will also be 10 years long
So the 8 parts are arranged like:
#1. Phantom Blood
#2. Battle Tendency
#3. Stardust Crusaders (1/2)
#4. Stardust Crusaders (2/2)
#5. Diamond is Unbreakable (1/2)
#6. Diamond is Unbreakable (2/2)
#7. The Golden Wind (1/2)
#8. The Golden Wind (2/2)
It may be a good idea to include:
#9. Stone Ocean (1/2)
#10. Stone Ocean (2/2)
These don't have to be reviewed in a specific time frame.
@@SeaDog1667-1st theres no steel ball run in ba sing se
@chocolatebar6785 , Steel Ball Run was never formally introduced to the U.S. Besides, the list is of the original Shōnen Jump publication and official timeline, which Steel Ball Run is not part of (taking place in 1890, where in the original, Jonathan Joestar was dead). As for the publication of Steel Ball Run, it only briefly saw use in Shōnen Jump before the series was transferred to V-Jump, a monthly Seinen magazine. Finally, the list I've included covers the Modern Anime, which Steel Ball Run was not a part of in the making of this post.
Make something like this for each part PLEASE this was so fun to watch!!!
18:35 Pluck means courage, its just an old term.
I remember reading the manga and seeing that part with the leaves. I legit just shrugged and kept going because it felt so normal at that point. Your description made me laugh at midnight lol.
Now we want other parts too
I started watching the series because of the amount of memes I found everywhere haha. And Ngl I cried at that ending, it was very unexpected and I never believed that the protagonist was going to die
I missed the premiere because i was asleep. I guess I'll wait for a year for the next video to come out
20:00 You werent having a fever dream, part one's use of hamon is just like Superman. Hamon is the power of the Sun and it does whatever Jojo/Superman needs to do to win, SPECIALLY that glider thing lol.
Hahahahahahahaha
That was good.
All hail Dr nefarious and myself for that
Also now that you have said the words of protection you are to be harshly judged by my council.
Hey, there's the homie! I havent been on the discord in a while
Omg please do more of these! 😂 Jjba is one of my favorite series and it definitely deserves the amount of roasting you gave it.
To be fair, the whole thing is so nuts I'm pretty sure it was written on all the drugs. 10 year old me didn't have imagination this balls-to-the-wall.
I would love it if you made one of these for part 2 because this is hilarious and I am only halfway through
4:43 OMG GUYS LOOK IT'S FORTNITE
Would love to see you make videos on the other parts as well!
i think at the time Jojo was heavily inspired by Fist of the North Star. so that probably explains some stuff. much like how later Shounen took a lot from Dragonball.
That explains so much
10:24 the situation of "I shoot magically nukes to blow the universe up" and "naw I dodged it" situation if yall didn't use magical probability rock
3:00 ya think that's funny in the manga Araki actually did that edit with Jonathan getting out of the carriage.
I love how over the top jojos is
WE NEED PART 2
19:54 just bookmarking this for myself. the “I HAVENT!!!” is so masterfully performed lmao
do part3, part 6 and part 7 making Dio the main character
We need one for part 2 now🔥🔥🔥
JoJo isn’t dumb, it’s bizarre.
i have a theory, the way jack the ripper got in the horse is that he used the ability the pillar men use in part 2( shifting through the horse like they did through humans).
