@@Texas_Pariah Pierrot is the sad clown who pines for the love of Columbine who breaks his heart when she leaves him for Harlequin. These where stock characters from the troupe of players in the Comedie- Italienne in the late 17th century.
My nanny has just passed 3 days ago and this is her chosen service song I've listened to the lyrics and my poor grandad is going to break at the service along with us all, these lyrics are so beautiful but very very sad im crying my heart out , waiting for a funeral date . Fly high with them wings now Nanny I love you so much 😭💔xxxx
@@tryton111 ❤its been 2 months now and I listen to her songs over and over its still very very hard they say time is a healer I do hope so because I hurt every single day 💔xx
Yes this is such a true and wonderful song the music and the lyrics are really perfectly matched such a beautiful song I'm playing this at my funeral and my mums when the time comes 😢😢😢😢😢
If anyone is wondering who Pierrot and Columbine are, they are stock characters in Italian la comedie del' art (God knows alone, if I spelt that right) which influenced British pantomime which came later. Pierrot was a servant boy who pined for the love of Columbine, a young woman whose father was the wealthy but corrupt and greedy Pantalone. And just when it appeared that they might be happy she would always leave him for Harlequin, whom she was in love with and whom her father was tryingg to separate, Pierrot always being a fall guy in every plan. Hence, "But the joys of love are fleeting for Pierrot and Columbine" as in the song.
I suspect you are close to the mark given that these lyrics were written by Tom Springfield (who actually died about 4 or 5 weeks before Judith). He adapted them from the original Russian language.
I'd like to see and hear Susan Boyle sing this poignant and thought-provoking ballad/song. She would do it justice; though not, perhaps, as good as Judith and The Seekers. But, we can't have everything!! Dear Judith, save me a place in heaven next to you and my beloved wife, who I miss so dreadfully. Then we may both hear your wonderful voice sing this wonderful ballad/song for all eternity. God Bless You Both. Darling Elsie, I will ALWAYS love and miss you. XXXXXXX

One more thing, Victor. Two days ago I turned 51 years old. I was born on May 20, 1970. I have Peter Pan Syndrome, so it's like I have turned 15 years old. I was watching on the internet what happened that day in the world, and the news I liked the most was the premiere, in London, of "Let It Be", by my beloved BEATLES. It had already premiered in New York a week before, on May 13, but I'm not interested in New York, I'm interested in London and Liverpool. The world welcomed me with good music and a good movie. Now I am looking forward to seeing the new version of Peter Jackson, which is going to be titled '' Get Back '', showing laughter and good vibes among the '' Fab Four ''. Thanks for listening, Victor. ''Happy birthday to me!'' .etc.

Actual music. Actual notes sung. No yowling, caterwauling, awful drum machine, screeching -just musical notes. This generation now have damaged hearing and can't hear music any more. Tragedy!
I don't know... I agree that a lot of current music is bad, but a lot of music from any era is bad. 🥲 There's good stuff out there, too. And in my opinion it can be a lot of fun to poke around and discover new types of music that are allegedly "too young" or "too old" for you. Opera, for example, is an acquired taste. 🤔 So is jazz, if you're an old-timey parent who grew up with chamber music and ragtime. So is rock, if you're a parent who grew up with jazz. We're all molded by what we grow up with. But if you break out of your mold a little bit, and try to acquire the taste for unfamiliar things... Well, it can be really fun, that's all. 😊
