Hi. I have the same switch as you. I wired it up as per a reviewer on Amazon and my dash lights and starter work but no head/tail lights. When I found this video, i wired it up exactly like you did and now i have no dash lights and no head/tail lights. I'm confused lol.
yeah that does sound confusing. if you mean dash like the neutral light only? or do you have a model with reverse as well. You may have a wire wired wrong your switch could be internally wired opposite even with same colors. For example if the switched power line is shorted it would blow a fuse or ground out. Send me some more details or send me a video on fb ( muddy thumper) ill see if i can help ya out
u got the red going to the black and the black going to the red? why not black to black and red to red? i checked my wires from the ign and i have no continuity from any wires. but my key still seems to operate spark vs no spark... i think i need a new tester lol
yeah haha, if i got black going to red and red going to black is because its the same circuit so the colors wouldn't matter. I tend to just look at the connections being made rather then the colors lol. Ignition switch should have 4 wires, circuit for key on, circuit for key off basically.

just unplug your ignition switch and it will start. or buy a replacement one on amazon theres not much to it. its just a switch

What would my issue be if the new key doesn’t kill the bike ?
Most likely two of your wires are hooked up opposite. What machine do you have, and what iginition switch? do you have access to a multi meter?>
