1984 Honda ATC200M, Runs Bad, Let's Fix It!

- Bought this Honda ATC200M a few weeks ago for $500. So far, a failed head gasket has been found and replaced, it was also discovered that this engine was redone with new valves and an over size Wisco piston. At the beginning of this video, the engine was hard to start and it did not run well at all. It seemed to be running lean, rich, and had a ignition miss all at the same time. In this video, a common intake manifold leak was fixed and a few the ignition system issues were diagnosed and repaired.

Your a very good mechanic and very informative videos.you should really consider selling some machines versus fixing them and sitting em in the yard to collect dust and rust...then more money to buy and fix more.
Process of elimination used to perfection. That engine sounds sweet now. A nice muffler, a fuel tank and a seat and we are going to have a great ride around the trails. 👍👍
Well done Harvey. Multiple problems very often lead to frustration and radical attempts at overpowering the components without understanding them. The machine gets passed around to many local experts who also fail and inflict additional damage, parts are removed and sold and whats left is sold as a "project" , "Mechanics special", or listed as an "easy fix" but I don't have the time. When someone calls a machine "rare" they usually added an extra zero to their asking price regardless of it's condition. I'm still up for adding to my group but not at all costs, luckily I have customers that give me first shot at whatever comes along after their finders fee of course, but thats business. They remember when I came up with the seat they needed while they waited, for a machine they pre-sold and the guy is waiting at their house. Good Times! Thanks again Harvey.

I believe I learned something today , I was ordering a Chinese carb for a 110cc with cable choke and found that PZ19 is with cable choke and PZ20 is lever choke . While trying to fire it up I had nothing on the starter button but it turned and fired on the remote and yes I held the brake on but nothing on the button ! I’m thinking bad starter button , what do you think ? I’m thinking of doing a Mike F. On this free quad any thoughts ?
