My 86 had a junk lawnmower ignition on it when I got it and you taught me how to do this a year or so ago and I thank you sir👍👍✌. Shortly after I got an original manual as you recommend and now I find myself not even using it most times as I know now how my baby works from top to bottom. I ended up buying a new OEM ignition with a set of keys for around 45 bucks after I got her running right just because she needed the love.
Harvey, you saved me a long walk today. While riding my Big Red in Kisatchie National Forest, the ignition switch quit working. It was avoidable because it had been giving trouble already. While sitting several miles from the trailhead I watched this video on my phone at dusk, hot wired the bike and road out after dark. It would have been a long tough walk in the dark. I have had the bike for almost 20 years and can honestly say it has never left me walking. I keep telling myself that I will buy a new bike when it wears out, I've been saying it for years. Thanks Harvey, you are the man!

Hello Harvey I have a Honda 250ES my neutral light stopped turning on after it was sitting for a couple of yrs. I started by taking out the carb to clean it cause I knew it was going to need it thats when I noticed the neutral light didn't come on. i said OK battery is dead so i charged it reinstalled it. but the light still didn't come on. checked the fuses i only found 2 fuses by the enclosed case by the headlight. both were good . looked for the fuses by the battery but it seems previous owner eliminated it. so i went to my go to place (UA-cam). came across a vid that shows how to bypass wiring by connecting a wire from the pigtail off the solenoid to a black wire at the fuse holder near the headlight. It did work but now it seems as if the battery isn't getting a charge . my battery seemed o have taken a charge enough to start ole Big Red . so either I by passed the charging system by connecting the wire or the battery is junk . I would really like to have it wired correctly .

In other news. I bought a 200e the other week that apart from the fact the chain had snapped and been tacked back together, has never had a bolt touched by a tool in its life. Showing its age of work yes but touched no. All for $150 which is cheap CHEAP here next to getting it for free

Hey bud you’ve helped me with a lot of machines in the past and I appreciate that! Now I have a problem and everywhere I’ve looked I can’t find any answers. I got a kolt 90xx atv for my kids from a abandoned home. I don’t have the key and some of the wiring is shot. How can I run the atv? It has electric start and kick start. Brake light headlight and a pull cord tether in the rear which I’m missing so I have to bypass that also. Please lmk my kids have been waiting months now for me to get to it and I’ve been rebuilding it the last week so now I’m at the finally step
Hey, if I cut the wired from the key and made sure they didn't touch could I pull start it?

How would I connect an on off switch to this ignition wiring to replace key I know black and red have to be Closed together to get power and other two wires open

If i want to remove the ignition and replace it with a switch, how should i do it? My thinking was to wire together the red and black and run that to the on position and then wire together the ground and cutoff switch and run that to the off position, is this correct or should i just cap off the ground abd cutoff switch?

You should have a number somewhere on a cylinder contact Honda will make you a key I went to my local Key & Lock place they made me two keys for twenty bucks I thought it was pretty good deal. Had an old Honda Aero 80 the last year I think electric start only
