When I first heard this album, especially Bridges Burning and Rope, I thought, Damn, this is....kinda proggy! I like it! They are HARD. ROCK. But they touch a lot of trees as they run through the forest, and you really gotta respect all of it. In Your Honor, Echoes Silence Patience & Grace... Wasting Light, overall, I think is truly a pinnacle of their career. I'm seriously gonna miss seeing Taylor up there. What a hard, hard loss -- and I'm just a casual fan! What I love about this is how well the cameras track whats going on in the music. You know in other live band videos when they show the bass player during a big drum fill or guitar leads kinda thing? Here the video tells the music's story really well.
I keep coming back to this live recording. They did this in a single take, and kept it real. It's a brilliant performance. Taylor Hawkins is near irreplaceable. Six months after his passing, they're playing tribute gigs to Taylor. God knows what they're going to do next. RIP.
It’s hard to watch videos like this knowing that Taylor is not here anymore. I know it’s easy to say just remember the good times or watch older videos of when everybody was happy. But it’s just weird man. He knew that he'll have two gigs in two days but didn't go easy on his voice at the first gig (where I was) at all. He basically gave everything at both gigs and I adore him for that.
@@_coffeebean_ I was at Rock im Park too, front row, best night of my life! Dave just knows how to put on a show, no matter if its 100 people or 100 000.
@@p1roncho nice!
@@_coffeebean_ Totally agree. Watched them 2 nights in a row in Toronto on the Sonic Highways/Broken Leg Tour... I'm sure his throat was raw after - the second night as insanely intense as the first. Loved how he not only wouldn't cancel the tour, but his energy up there, giving it all he could as usual in spite of his lack of mobility.
well. the drummer is
Man! Wasting Light is the Foo Fighters at their peak. They really outdid themselves after making 6 great studio albums! This performance is so timeless! Makes me wish they did a full live performance of each of their albums. RIP Taylor. You will be missed forever! 🦅
Hell of a Concept
Taylor and Dave are the fucking masters!!!!!
+daniela carrera totally agree!!!!!!
+daniela carrera totally agree!!!!!!
The whole bands are legends!!
Wasting Light is brilliant and a true masterpiece! For me it's a 10 out of 10.
Love it so much
I agree, a perfect 5/7
totally agree.. not a bad track on that album !!! period !!!
Dave, Chris, Pat, Nate, Rami, my condolences go out to you for his passing, and I know it's just words, and they're not enough, but it's all I can offer. May he Trip The Light Fantastic. Shade and sweet water to all of you -- band and fans, alike.
Taylor’s performance on ‘Rope’ is a truly masterpiece! Miss u, dude.
I think it's a safe assumption that the Foos are not just a rock band..They're what my big brother in the 70's used to call a SUPER ROCK GROUP.. Plain and simple..
TAYLOR FUCKIN HAWKINSS!!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!
He's an animal
I. Balbin
NinjaCakeAssassin THE HAWK!
NinjaCakeAssassin Yes. He and Travis Barker best drummers.
RIP Taylor Hawkins. He was an absolute legend that will live on in our hearts forever
I will always come back here for the rest of my life. Rest In Peace, Taylor. Watching you perform here and just wishing I could match your energy. We love you forever ❤️
I can't believe this was almost 10 years ago.....
Times flies doesn’t it? I remember buying this album on vinyl the day it came out. Sure doesn’t seem like 10 years ago.
And it sounds timeless.
it's almost like the band never grow old :'))
@@meliams5661 why so mad
Still my favorite video on youtube, 5 years later
I'm here enjoying it as I do every 2-3 months. Masterpiece.
Is still your favorite video? just curious. Watching today again, after a long time.
kind of similar case here
Oh same bro XD

I get a kick at how often Dave casually "checks in" with Taylor through this whole thing.
When this album came out, I said.. You know what, it's time. Went out and got a foo fighter tattoo on my shoulder. Fuckin love this band.
Daniel Amaya sick dude! had the same thought when i first listend to this record but i was under 18 but at my 18th birthday i got a foo tattoo on my arm too
So, a good album comes out and you get a tattoo of the band? You're either gonna have a lot of ink or a lot of regrets when you're 60...
You would not do, bro! It's just a brand, a name. And if they sell out or something happens? Problematic!
I've got too much time on my hands, I've watched this 4,687,987 now. Wow, I need a life
*Clap* *Clap*
Listening to this today in honor of Taylor. This video in particular is such a showcase of what a talented musician he was. I can't believe he's gone!😥😥😥
Same here, though it still hurts. 😢
They absolutely killed it with this album.
Holy shit... that was fucking awesome! That sounded like on any album.. those guys are really professionals!
taylor playing like the energizer bunny on speed
Best drummers ever 1. Keith Moon 2. Dave Grohl 3. Taylor Hawkins.
Rest in peace Taylor. This is by far my favorite album and performance of theirs.
The best FF album after their late 90s and early millenium. I'd never skip any tracks on this album!
RIP Taylor Hawkins, you were a fucking legend on the drums
People that dislike this video don't appreciate how cool it is when a band can write a great rock album AND perform the whole thing in one big shot! This is incredible talent and energy!
People who dislike this video are freaking idiots. Why would you come here if you weren’t a fan. If you’re a fan, there’s no way you can not like this. Your points are all spot on. It’s very difficult to do what they have done here.
That people likes reggaeton haha
I love the video, but once you've written an album it's pretty easy to perform. And Taylor is the only one busting a sweat, the tempo isn't exactly fast
@@mentalfatal9727 so show us how easy it is. where's your album and live performance?
@@thingamajacky My album can be found at mentalfatal.bandcamp.com (Very DIY styled, as heavily inspired by that first FF album). My new line-up plays more than that in most sets we play. We're thinking of live recording us doing the album. Unfortunately no videos up yet of a full-set, but head to our youtube and see us play a couple songs if you're interested in some ua-cam.com/video/45Wu5cYE-hc/v-deo.html
Who else listened to this on fucking max volume enough to do permanent hearing damage, late at night, all at one sitting?
The Foo Fighters are the best band ever!
When this came out years ago I watched it non stop ,it only felt right to revisit the brilliance of this band to honour Taylor Hawkins. He will be missed by everyone 😔
Bridge Burning is a great way to open an album
Sammy G. Limp Biskit piece of shit kkkk
Sam G. When I saw them in 2011 they opened with Bridges Burning and it was epic. And I was only 5 feet from Dave at the front. Double epic.
Came to look at Taylor Hawkins.
Tears a lot ...You and Foo's are just miracle.miss you so much.
Rest in peace man.
It's been a month. But all I want to do is watch Foo Fighters videos all day! 😢❤❤❤❤
Jaysus, Taylor can drum fast.
ever heard "A song for the deaf" by Queens of the stone age? Dave Grohl drums for it, astounds me every time I listen
***** Yes, I have. Beast And The Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold is an amazing example of fast drumming.
RIP The Rev a7xfoREVer
HuskyChunk101 Really? Avenged Sevenfold?
HuskyChunk101 Of all great metal, you picked Avenged Sevenfold? Are you kidding me?
No, nope. I like Avenged Sevenfold, sue me.

wasting light is probably one of the best foo fighters album. i love all song in this album
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
Rest in power Taylor. You will always be one of my biggest influences and I'll miss your playing greatly.
Wasting light > Greatest hits
My quarantine is way better thanks to this video!
Hey man me to, last day of qaurantine in Hong Kong it's been a nightmare and the Foo Fighters have saved my life ❤👍😁
This video gave me 10 years of life an prosperity everytime I saw it
still here
This comment is still relevant today
I do the same!
I love how we can bring him back to life in a way , in ourselves when we watch videos like this .
I hope where he is now , that he can feel our thoughts and love and that he is still somehow connected . He was so dam good !
R.I.P. TAYLOR . I love watching you play !
Haven't listened to FF since the news. Just played this tonight, made it through without tearing up until One Of These Days. All. The. Feels.
I dont understand why people who don't like FooFighters watch the video and then dislike it, It's like eating peanut butter even though you're allergic because you thought it might be different from other peanut butter products.
Dave and Taylor harmonies are out of this world oh my god.
This album was badass. An easy front to back listen
Been watching this video since the day it came out. 100 of these views are mine! I can’t believe today happened. I’ve never even been compelled to leave a comment on a UA-cam video ever… Taylor Hawkins you will be fucking missed. I’m so happy I got to see you guys the times I did. Love you Taylor and the Foo Fighters. Rest in Power.
I've been telling myself for years I'm going to go see them play live. I procrastinated and now I fear that they will never take the stage again over this... They are my all-time favorite band and that's saying a lot cuz I've been around a long time. Sad that he is gone but he left a hell of a lot of amazing music for us to remember him by.

I have a friend I used to work wit and he transferred to another store … one day he tells me “ Do you know Dave Grhol ?” And I say “ heel yeah I know Dave “ and he tells me that Dave had gone into his store and everyone was telling him about Dave .. so Dave walked into the isle my friend was working at .. he said Dave said hi to him and asked him about his day .. he said he felt his warmth about Dave .. I was surprised that the universe didn’t implode at the time since my friend is the nicest person I’ve ever met .. I just imagine the universe not being able to control the love of these 2 people in one place and just imploding in itself 😂 I Love Dave .. he’s such an amazing human being ❤
One of my fav foo performances. RIP Taylor you will be sorely missed 🖤
Wasting light came out 4 years ago today!!!!
Taylor got an epic facial expression when he plays. You don't know if hes crying or laughing with that awesome grin. Wonderful to see!
Rest in peace, Taylor. We love you forever! ❤🤟🏻
7:40 Taylor really made the whole band feel the groove 😢 He will be missed RIP 🕊️🕊️ This while studio live performance is a masterpiece
Que en paz descanses Taylor, sos y serás lo más grande que ha pasado por mi vida♥ maestro de maestros.
q locura no caigo, indescriptible artista
todavía no logro creerlo :( tengo una pena de mierda en el corazó.... RIP Taylor
Wow, that's an extremely nice compliment!
are you a drummer yourself?
Sabado 5am... Aca estoy buscando consuelo y buscando entrar en razon que esto es verdad.
Gracias eternas y fuerzas a todo FF
Sometimes thinking of all the best rock musician which left us past few years, to name a few, Chris Cornell, Chester, Meat loaf,Scott....but nothing came close with my sad feeling of the lost of Taylor Hawkins......damn...I really hope your soul found the inner peace at heaven with all the legends up there.
R.I.P My Hero
Still can’t believe he’s gone. Thank you for the ace drumming, the amazing personality and just the positive attitude you had to life, Taylor.
Anyone else notice the K on Dave's guitar? This was filmed April 5 the day Kurt died so this was a sign to honor him.
for real?!?!
Actually it's because Kellogg's sponsorship
+MrT1o9P9i2 True
+MrT1o9P9i2 Are you sure? Your suggestion seems more likely but I want to believe the other guy so bad!
It's because he can't pronounce the letter "C" so he has it on his guitar to remind him to use "K" instead.
Was just listening to this a couple days ago, my favorite FF album and one of my favorite videos of them.
RIP Taylor
I see this video so many times...diferent days and times of my live. This musics is part of my. Foo love u guys ! This songs never be old. Salute from BRAZIL ! #riptaylor
I saw this live in 3D at a theater in San Diego. Pretty awesome Rocking out to a Live 3D Foo Fighters concert at a full movie theater!
What I love about this is how well the cameras track whats going on in the music. You know in other live band videos when they show the bass player during a big drum fill or guitar leads kinda thing? Here the video tells the music's story really well.
Petition for the band to the the same with Medicine at Midnight
well theyre on the howard stern show, same thing right?
I keep coming back to this live recording. They did this in a single take, and kept it real. It's a brilliant performance. Taylor Hawkins is near irreplaceable. Six months after his passing, they're playing tribute gigs to Taylor. God knows what they're going to do next. RIP.
I always come back to this one. Super tight performance.
I can't believe how tight they are.
Hell, they've only been doin it for 20 years!

It’s hard to watch videos like this knowing that Taylor is not here anymore. I know it’s easy to say just remember the good times or watch older videos of when everybody was happy. But it’s just weird man. He was so young and had so much more potential ahead of them And I can only feel for Dave and the rest of the band as they’ve already gone through so much loss in their lives. Genuinely one of my favorite groups of all time. I wish them the best.
This will always be my favourite live performance ever done by a band...so full of energy and genuine soul. RIP Taylor
