Hahaaaa! I’ve seen the comment “The drummer looks like the guy from Nirvana” in soooo many comment sections of Nirvana and Foo Fighter UA-cams and all over the web. It’s always a joke and so well placed! Recently, I’ve found a compilation of young Dave playing live drums at different venues (it’s sooooo good!)....one of the comments was, “Yeah, but can he play guitar and sing?” A total joke and one person didn’t get it, and was correcting the commenter, so funny!
I just read a tribute by Stewart Copeland, describing Taylor as being fifty, going on eight. So joyous, spontaneous, without any air of bring superior or "celebrity" but ordinary...same goes for Dave.
I’m sorry but the funniest part of this story is when Taylor randomly starts wolfin down food in the middle of the interview. God he’ll be missed on every level!
I was laughing at EVERY part, especially now that he's gone -- it's all so precious now: the legs up on the sofa, the man-spreading, the correcting-details of Dave's story, the wolfing down food... Just the fact that they were so comfortable around each other, like an old married couple; there were no "airs," no protocol, just down-to-earth guys who would behave that way in an interview, no matter who they were interacting with.
Right? I love how he's so laid-back in the interviews but then all of a sudden he'll do a tuny correction to Dave story. What a beautiful team they were....🙏
Oh, I was just thinking " hang on a minute, where did that plate come from?" What a pair they are( and I continue to use the present tense...they are still brothers from another mother). 😔🙏💗
So....way back in the 90s my band have just finished playing the Rock Candy in Seattle when the promoter introduces me to this guy he called “David”. David is really nice and is full of compliments about my band. He then hands me his demo tape and asks if I’ll check it out. It was about this moment I realised I was talking to Dave fucking Grohl and not just some fan of my band! I had to do my utmost to stay cool, calm and collected, all the way my heart pounding and knees giving way. The penny took a while to drop as I always thought he was quite short, which he really isn’t. That’s what happens when you’re in a band with that giant Novocelic! 😂 And yes, I still have that demo tape of the Foos first album plus bonus tracks, sweet!! 😜
Kurt was actually reasonably tall as well if you see him in pics next to everyday people. It is just when Kurt and Dave were pictured with Krist it made both of them look short.
would you upload it? or at least the extra tracks? that would be so fuckin amazing since they haven't really released their demos at all but dave thought about releasing his everlong demo at some point
Love how Taylor is always correcting Dave. I'm in tears watching this. God Bless you Taylor. Dave know that my thoughts are with you....it must hurt to breathe.

Dave is so humble its bizarre. The way he talks about other bands....He could so have a huge entitled attitude for being in Nirvana - and he is just so down to earth.
Me too. Never seen so many piercings in my life. I liked foo fighters but wasn’t a full on fan, but really enjoyed the set. I mainly wanted to see fear factory but arrived half way through their set. Ozzy was great, and really enjoyed Joe Holmes playing. Funniest part was seeing a very ugly Scottish guy plead for some one to exit the port a loo by yelling “ye gods man would you hurry up, it’s slayer!”
Getting his wallet back 10 years later without nothing missing illustrates how beloved Dave Grohl is to everyone. Taylor & Dave feed off each other which in turn explains why The Foo Fighters have been so successful. Taylor’s sudden passing is extremely saddening & I can only imagine how Dave is taking it. My heart truly aches for Dave, The band and Taylor’s beautiful wife & children. Taylor’s passing will be felt throughout the industry for a long long time. Rest In Peace Taylor.

Lol...I doubt he needs to wait that long. He's been drumming professionally since he was a teenager: he's seen a lot :-)
He needs to do an audio book to boot.
RIP Taylor, so sad to loose another legend. Love seeing the true bond and friendship between Taylor and Dave!
