I was at the show in Sweden. Left my dad at the back of the venue and made my way to the front of the stage. Remember feeling heartbroken when he fell - turned into the best night of my life. I’m glad he enjoyed it despite the accident. That moment is a once in a lifetime.
Dave Grohl is to Nirvana, what Paul McCartney was to the Beatles. Exceedingly well respected when they went on solo careers, their greatness truly shines. Really Old Fart here at 65, and Rock and Roll with Dave and the FooFighters as the torch bearers, continues to shine. Don't ever let Rock and Roll die, it needs an eternal flame.
Ummmm no.... Dave Grohl is to Nirvana what Ringo Starr was to the Beatles. Like Ringo, Dave Grohl was the band's drummer. He was neither the main singer nor the main songwriter.
@@ivanjulian2532 Yeah, he’s like if Ringo started Wings. It’s more impressive than Paul McCartney starting Wings because Paul was a hugely respected songwriter and vocalist for the Beatles. Dave Grohl was the drummer and didn’t really write songs for Nirvana.
Well said! Medium old fart here at 41. I feel blessed by living in the years that I have because I was here to see 90s grunge begin and end. Very sad to see it end!
I never was a huge Foo Fighters fan, they were just too radio. After watching them perform on a festival for 3+ hours, I think they are maybe the best Rock band on earth.
My love grew more and more over the years in a similar fashion. Always liked everlong and then the pretender came out when I was starting high school and was into it a bit. Then I happened to catch them live at a festival live and it blew me away. I started digging deep! Saw them at Fenway a few years ago and even shed a tear. AMAZING AMAZING live band. And Amazing they still bring it and bring the hits. Watch Dave Grohl “play” video where it’s just him jamming and you’ll see at there’s even bigger potential hiding behind their somewhat radio friendly sound.
I honestly didn’t even pay Foo Fighters a second thought until I made a playlist of them for my phone (I just make a ton of band playlists), then it was all I listened to for the next month.
There's two kinds of radio music bands. The kind that make their sound to fit the radio and get plays, and then the kind who make the radio play their sound. Foo Fighters are the latter. It can get you money, but sometimes it gets people to think you're too commercial or a sellout just because everyone started following you. Other examples are like Mumford and Sons and Arcade Fire where they were just doing their own thing, and then all of a sudden you've got 5 years of Mumford and Arcade Fire knockoffs in constant play and you can get sick of the thing you loved.
A band is like family. Six guys are brothers. They are all hurting for the loss of Taylor. The Foo Fighters have been together for so many years. This news is so hard. May Taylor Rest In Peace.
Taylor contributed more than his share in this World. They encapsulated music with awesome songs but gave so much back to fans and their Music hero's by bringing them on stages around the World.Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, hope TFF choose to continue. They can replace a Drummer but not Taylors spirit. R.I.P

I think Dave had to pick himself up largely due to the fact that his talent would not allow him to stay complacent, but looking back he will never forget Kurt or the magical mystery ride they took into the hearts of all Nirvana fans.
i dont think its sadness. I saw the Foo Fighters last week, Amazing and a dream for me. I left feeling that when my time comes my son and granddaughter will always have this special night.
It says a lot about a band when their lead singer/guitarist breaks his leg, still continues the gig. That's impressive until I then say that they were due to play Wembley like, a week later. A gig I bought tickets for. Suffice to say it was canceled but Dave promised that they would sort it out. Not even 3 months later, I'm stood in the Milton Keynes Bowl, looking up at the famous Double F logo. They came through on their promise and they even gave priority to the people that had lost out on the Wembley gig. One of the best gigs of my life and I don't say that often. Then you compare it to Stereophonics, who couldn't even refund their fans after a gig got snowed in. Fortunately, I and the missus worked our way through the snow to see it, but for the poor bastards who couldn't make it due to travel safety concerns, they didn't even get their money back. Two different bands and two vastly different stories.
I was at the show at Ullevi where he broke his leg and you know.. there was so much confusion going on but then, when Dave came back onstage.. I don't think I will ever experience such a thing again. It was so amazing. I think we all assumed the show was over, they just didn't wanna tell us yet. But nope. They rocked that fucking stadium all night long.
Macbac no, pat was actually there from the beginning on their first tour (Dave played all instruments on the 1st album), left in the middle of the colour and the shape tour, and returned for the skin and bones live album

Why would they take it down
The synchronised air drumming at 3:30 tho. Two masters absolutely killing it.
It was pretty amazing to watch Dave and Taylor doing that!! They were right in time together without a mistake and for it to be just random...Wow, way too cool =) Seriously though, Taylor is and will forever be sorely Missed and Loved, RIP Taylor ='(
Dave Grohl is the coolest person we have on the planet right now historically regarding to music.
Dave learned his cool from the master himself henry Winkler aka the fonz
Paul mc cartney
@@emmettcoop1 Paul was literally the first thing that popped in my head after reading the original comment. Glad to see you thought the same! But also, Mick Jagger, Ozzy, Brian May? I mean don't get me wrong, I love Dave. He's def top 10. He's told in an interview a story of Paul happening to be in the same studio working right next door, coming in and jamming (and recorded) with them and Dave said he couldn't be more star struck.

Taylor was so vibrant and charismatic. He was a big kid in an adult body.
I love how he drums even when not behind the kit. ❤️💔❤️💔
I love how Taylor kept doing the harmonies and Dave kept looking back if to say "thanks bro". I'm so sorry for how you must be feeling now Dave. Be kind to yourself! I will miss Taylor but you will miss him 1000 times more. Still can't believe it's real 🥺
Dave Grohl has the best sense of humor, a great talent, and he shows up everywhere from Carpool Karaoke to the Kennedy Center Honors and Sound City Documentary. Foo Fighters, I thank you for being so damned awesome.
Warren Cancilla you should check out the song landslide he recently did live with Stevie Nicks! It’s such a beautiful video!
I will check it out. Looking forward to it.
Hell yea
Warren Cancilla David Grohl is just awesome one of the best musicians as he really does care about his fans.
Even jammimg with Jack Black as the devil.

James Rickrolled the crowd. 😂

You can tell these guys are mad chill, because Corden doesn't have to try as hard to have a good time and converse with them.

I was at the show in Sweden. Left my dad at the back of the venue and made my way to the front of the stage. Remember feeling heartbroken when he fell - turned into the best night of my life. I’m glad he enjoyed it despite the accident. That moment is a once in a lifetime.
Dave Grohl is the Keanu Reeves of rock change my mind
I agree.
Change our minds.
keanu chungus moment
No
Dave Grohl is the Jesus Christ of drums
You see, Keanu reeves is a horrible actor, and Dave Grohl is very far from being horrible
but better
Dave grohl has to be top 10 most talented and influential people in grunge history if not rock music ever
He is a gift to humanity!
Bit over the top Sid he's good but you gotta be kidding me top ten in Rock
@@johnmcintosh5465 i’m a huge foos fans so this may be bias but he has been a part of two of the biggest bands in the world for the last 30 years
@@johnmcintosh5465 just him being a part of nirvana makes it debatable, but foo fighters has been quite successful as well.
Agreed!!! 100!!!
God: how many guitarist do you want in the band?
Dave: Yes
All. Of. Them.
God: how many instruments do you want to play?
Dave: also yes
The other answer is three
Radiohead have three guitarists too it’s not that weird
James corden so damn lucky. I’d be reliving that my whole life
RIP Taylor. You will forever be missed. Another rock legend gone but never forgotten.
gone but never forgotten 🖤
Dave Grohl is to Nirvana, what Paul McCartney was to the Beatles. Exceedingly well respected when they went on solo careers, their greatness truly shines. Really Old Fart here at 65, and Rock and Roll with Dave and the FooFighters as the torch bearers, continues to shine. Don't ever let Rock and Roll die, it needs an eternal flame.
Well said!
They're consummate professionals and always give the best shows, I got to see them in 2015 and it was probably the best gig of my life.
I was the same..never a fan of FF but my friend dragged me to their concert two years ago and it was INCREDIBLE!!
Dave looking back at Taylor, being so happy is the definition of soulmates
Came back to watch this gem again. RIP Taylor, a true inspiration in the music industry. Keep drumming
I got to hang out with Taylor a few times. His cover band played at one of my bar and grill customers in Burbank. Taylor was kind, humble, happy and so cool. I helped him load and unload his drums and cymbals, we talked gear, kids, rock and roll dreams, and food. He even called me "Food Guy" and would holler from the stage "what's good to eat here food guy?" I will always remember just how cool, calm, and happy he was. He still inspires me to be the same.
I just can't see the Foo Fighters continuing with another drummer. Still can't believe Taylor is gone, 50 is no age at all :(
You can see Dave’s demeanor slightly change when Nirvana is brought up. Imagine losing someone so tragically and it’s brought up everywhere you go.
Dave is THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST.....
He sure is! Such a cool guy!
This is the best carpool karaoke period. Foo Fighters rock!
no. its not.i've watched all the episodes. The BEST were the one with red hot chilli peppers and coldplay
Had to watch this after waking up to the sad news of Taylor passing; He was & will be 1 of the all-time best drummers- no doubt about that. His passion was plain to see. R.I.P Taylor! 🕊
Taylor… You will always be loved and mostly missed, we will always be your Foo Family … RIP Man and keep rockin’ the heavens 🥁💙
love how although Dave has been on guitar for 25 years when the music kicks in his natural inclination is to jump right on the air drums...once a drummer always a drummer. love it
I was there, when Dave broke his leg, and these guys gave me the best concert experience I've ever had, I'm heart broken beyond words 💔
4:08 just broke my heart… and Dave’s smile…. I can’t even imagine how much in pain he must be… Rest In Peace Taylor Hawkins
How wonderful to see them together and enjoying each other and their music. It's bittersweet to see Taylor smiling and singing. Wish this had been enough for him.
James should do karaoke with Slipknot 😂. Try getting all nine of them into the car. 😂😂
Don't forget to bring a beer keg and a bat!
He’ll just drive a limo 😂

They should invite more bands. This one and RHCP are the best most fun filled episodes of CPK.
Edit: Greenday been active lately. I mean...

MCR and Panic!

My heart goes out to the Foo Fighters his family his friends and his fans it's almost as if my eyes weep along with them. The sky is a neighborhood.
When the Foo Fighters entered the car, James should’ve said “Hello. I’ve been waiting here for you...Everlong.”

And he is a Legend from the punk days
saw them on rip last weekend and you could feel all the love for Taylor still being there and the new guy fitting right in. not wanting to take the spot but he got all the love he could get and it was just pure beauty ! so fucking amazing!
Damn man, you can still see the sadness in Daves face when talking about Nirvana
Majin2606 his best friend died a horribly tragic death at a young age. That's not something you get over.
I think Dave had to pick himself up largely due to the fact that his talent would not allow him to stay complacent, but looking back he will never forget Kurt or the magical mystery ride they took into the hearts of all Nirvana fans.
Kinda sucks that anywhere he goes, Nirvana always comes up. And it was one of the greats and saddest moments of his life, I believe.
i dont think its sadness. I mean hes just not allowed to move past it. if youre dad dies, and then for the next 30 years every other day someone comes up and says hey man i was such a huge fan of youre dad can we talk about it, cause every fan had to coupe themselves to some degree.... its really a strange situation.
I loved Nirvana and was wrecked when Kurt died, but I think the Foo Fighters are a better band, and I no longer think of Nirvana when I see Dave.
There was a real lack of Everlong here.
Smittinator your soooooo right
Yep, so disappointed!!
I love Everlong, don't get me wrong, but I really hope you realize that they have plenty of other super awesome material besides just that song.
@WestonB Those are really great tracks! I also love a lot of their heavier stuff like Weenie Beenie, The Colour and the Shape, Walking a Line, Wind Up, Wattershed, Free Me, FFL, Enough Space, The One, and Lonely As You (demo version). They've just got so much badass music in their catalogue.
And Monkey Wrench, as well as run
Taylor Hawkins harmonizing during Best of You is stuck in my head. Now whenever I listen to that song, I can imagine the harmonies he sang
Taylor is one of my favourite foos
Check out Taylor with his Bowie tribute band 'Ground Control', so good!
When him and James harmonize "I swear I'll never give in" oh my gosh, it brings a tear to my ear 👌👌
Rest is peace, legend! 💔
Taylor instantly became my fav when I found out how he can't stop talking about Queen and as a Queen fan, I relate. I still can't believe he's not here
I keep coming back to this, so delightful. Miss you Taylor ❤
He is the guy from Nirvana?! Best reaction ever 🤣
Tobias Luecke I know right 😂😂
😂
😂😂😂
Gotta love Rami
He's a better drummer than songwriter
Dave Ghrol is awesome. He could break a bone in a concert but he wouldn't stop playing the guitar and singing. A badass rockstar!!!
Christian González
He set the standard so no more excuses from pussy musos!
Christian González Dave grohl a badass rocker lmfao. Are u 13.
Didn't he actually break his leg one time and come back singing? Lmao
You know those people in Guitar Center shit a solid gold brick when these guys walked in !!!!
Actually, GC on Hollywood Blvd and the crew there have a lot of talent come through the front door, and they are total professionals about helping everyone out, without going Gaga in awe.
Funny 'cause GC employees are so condescending, as if friggin' Bowie or Jagger come in every day, yet as you say s a gold b when real rockers come in.
Love how Dave still has so much passion for his songs. You can see how much he enjoys his songs. Must be so damn hard for him to keep losing band friends. R.I.P Taylor. Love you Dave
Dave sounds exactly the same on each record! That's a true artist.
Imagine just driving to work, like you do everyday.. and all of a sudden you just see James cordon and the foo fighters screaming “best of you” in a car in the opposite lane.. 😂😂
You wouldn’t , I’m 100% sure that car is fully tinted
Pat being in Nirvana too is often overlooked.
YES! Pat rules.
Pat was only a touring member of Nirvana though.
Ole Pap Smear
He wasn't though
Yeah he's in the MTV Unplugged
That's dedication to your fans and your craft.
Yes!! I live at netherfield so it's less than a 10min walk!! He was on a throne, and rightly so!!!
“Dave you and Nate are the original foos”
Pat: wtf am I then
I thought the same thing but I think he joined one or two years after they formed foo fighters
Macbac no, pat was actually there from the beginning on their first tour (Dave played all instruments on the 1st album), left in the middle of the colour and the shape tour, and returned for the skin and bones live album
