Working actor here. NO AGENCY HAS SIGN ON FEES. If they do it is a SCAM!!! Agents only make money after you get paid.
Exactly
Amen!
Too bad she didn't buy some Kindle books to do some research about modeling, signing contracts, agents, etc. $100 in e-books would have saved her $1K in enrollment fees in the SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS!
Learn that the bad way😢 thank God nothing really happened cause it was my little sister (11 at the time), and they were angry that I wouldn't leave her side.
They sent us home and kept the money. IMTA... and it was wither them scamming, or a big company posing as IMTA😂😢
@michaelbreath4389, I'm not an actor but I know that u hit the nail on the head brother
Correct - i worked with PVH Corp - one of the largest clothing corporations in the world, we avoided those agencies like the plague!
I find it bizarre how she shared her 3k with her mom and family, but when she's in need, her mom "loans" her money
I say this jokingly but maybe that’s just a cultural thing lol. She should’ve waited until she had so much money that she didn’t even know what to do with before she just made her pay check everyone else’s paycheck
I'm British but my stepfather is from Nigeria. It's definitely a cultural thing.

@@lysianassa2011 Not really. You give what you can, obviously people of more wealth in Nigeria are giving away more money than the poor because they give what they can. If I had a nickel for every time Caleb had a model on this show, I wouldn't have enough nickels to start an emergency fund, but 20 cents isn't bad
"Not that bad"
What makes a woman who is AT BEST a 6/10 think she's MODEL MATERIAL? Don't you own MIRRORS?
Put it in your 401k
If I had a nickel for every guest that said, “nobody taught me about credit” I would also have a fully funded emergency fund.
"Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice."
She sounds like she's 5 seconds away from being kidnapped and exploited. Gullible, trying to get out of a bad situation, and high hopes. Best wishes to her, I really hope she pulls it together
Absolutely. I hope she will be ok.
She borrowed money from her family to fly out and shack up with a 40-50 year old she just met 🤦♂️ This girl’s parents are clueless and think they’re entitled to her income
@@ryanlemmers5300I’d like to point out she shouldn’t be paying for her accommodation and flights to these modelling gigs. These should been organised by her agency.
She’s already being taken for a ride.
Not nearly as close as the vast majority of other guests
hope someone warns her about MLMs too because she might think that's legit too.
I'm impressed that she cares enough about her finances enough to come on the show at only 18 years old. She seemed to genuinely want help and she got some valuable education from Caleb.
i cared about my finances at 18. i'm glad we're finally being represented in financial audits.
Yeah she asked good questions, follow-up questions too. She seemed to learn a lot. I really hope she can fix her credit card spending and find a better path forward in her career
Honestly she behaved far more like a mature adult than the 40 year old wannabe pop star
Yeah, I like her. I feel for her in some ways, clear she’s naive, but I see a lot of myself in her at 18.
@@ethanpunto9222glad I wasn't the only one who thought she was really well behaved and good manners compared to most that come on here
Her bringing her whole family to one of her gigs and buying them things all the time is a recipe for her to be in debt forever.
And she's spending it like water??? What is going on
@Loocy222 I feel part of it is the never having had money before so it feels like way more than it is. So she just spends thinking it won't run out. She should really take into consideration how much a modeling gig will pay vs how much she'll have to spend to do the job. A lot of these trips she did I wasn't sure she was making a profit out of them.
Crabs in a bucket mentality with your own family
That's a staple of African culture (I am a assuming that's where their parents immigrated from)
her family is financially abusive
Caleb I am a signed model, agents agency no one should ever pay to book a gig, for a role anything, agents are paid when you get paid (usually 20% of whatever the gig is paying). For future reference if you continue to have “models” on your shows. Agencies in Miami and New York LA, if they are legit, don’t charge anything for you to be signed with them. Only cost usually is for a photographer to get you started .
Yeah, in my country in the 1990s it was common for people to pay for their "books," but then the agent has no incentive to get you jobs.
Yes same in Texas. Agencies get paid when the model get booked % varies depending on the job. Typically it is 20% but if you get higher jobs or I think retail advertising the amount is different.
Actors sometimes have to pay to use their space in their website but I think that’s abt it
Yep. Any legit agent for any field should only take money when you get money. You get paid for your work, and they get paid for theirs. Anyone asking for money for you to start a job is sending up giant red flags.
You sound like a scamming agent lmao how about don’t do modeling and contribute to society?
This poor girl needs a role model… she's so obsessed with trying to make it in modeling that she’s willing to stay with a strange 40 year old man in New York??? Christ that could’ve had a much more tragic ending… best of luck to her
Sadly I think her role models are on Instagram and TikTok.
You have no idea how much that happens. Most of the time the girls are just less naive and know they are going to be fucking some old rich dude to pay for their trips.
It's obvious she doesn't have any street smarts whatsoever, or else she wouldn't be falling for basically every scam she runs across.....!! It's a shame her parent's didn't teach her any better, instead they made sure they drilled it in her head that she's responsible for her own financial upbringing, therfore she owes them for whatever they spent raising her.....!! I truly hope one day she can learn how to love her parent's from afar, instead of allowing them to be a part of her life only to continue living in a toxic environment....!! Her mother should have never taken that thousand dollars from her first paycheck, just as her grandmother shouldn't have accepted a few hundred from it either....!! Her little sister's are a different story because of how young they still are but the adult's have zero excuses....!! Instead they should have gotten her to take that money and pay it towards her debt and stop allowing her to pay anything for them....!! I'm not falling for that "it's their culture" nonsense because they're choosing to cherry pick the part's of their Nigerian culture they're continuing to honor that benefits them, instead of doing what's best for their daughter.....!!
This poor girl will be sold into sex trafficking if she's not careful. I got so nervous during her story of staying with a stranger.

Here's how it breaks down: $1 per F-word ($109), $5 per BS/S ($75), $10 per Taquitos ($0), and $0.50 per any other swear word ($2.50). Grand total is $186.50 for this episode! Feel free to play along.

This is hilarious! 😂
This girl is not stupid, she’s just young and inexperienced and lacks proper people in her life to advise her. She seems sweet and intelligent. She’s just young and needs guidance. I also think she handled herself so well in this high pressure environment. I would literally cry and I’m 34.
Hanging out in a 40 year Olds apartment that you just met in a city far from home is anything but inexperienced
She's a idiot.
Bro this is why women give terrible advice. They always listen to how it's said not what i said. The moment she started complaining about her parents, shows she wants to live like an American, which in her mind she runs the house, mommy and daddy don't get because she's being a 304 with a 40 yr old. Wake up Mindy. You are the problem.
Feelings need to sit on the sideline and your tears can relax. It’s tough out there, but don’t lose the objective focus.
Agreed! If she follows Caleb’s financial advice she’ll be fine.

I agree. Her parents have kinda failed her.
She also needs to learn to not be a people pleaser. Her family sucks.
@Amiwa3 it's largely just a cultural thing
The difference between her and all the other, "no one taught me this," people is at 18 she is taking steps to learn. If you don't know anything about finance at 18, that's on your parents. If you don't know anything at 38, it's on you.

Right?! Even as bad as she is...she's probably on the better end for most 18 she's at least THINKING and making plans. I give her huge credit there.
Google exists it's your fault at any age..
@@T03L3G Right? My 5-year-old keeps trying to give me her tooth fairy money for frivolous things. Girl, Google exists. Teach yourself some financial literacy. I don't care that you're five. Age isn't an excuse.
@@T03L3G some of financial literacy is understanding how cruel the world can be, which you may not realize at 18. For instance: she took chase bank at their word for credit card guidelines and didn't look further. That's not a lack of education as much as it is an abundance of misplaced trust.
I think we need a “credit cards for newbies” video. Explain that you NEED to pay off statement balance in FULL every month. Not just “minimum payment.”
Pro tip- If you get a store brand credit card you can pay it immediately right at the register after your purchase before you even leave the store and still get the ‘points’ or whatever they offer for using it!
Checking account at a credit union. Get a lil $500 limit credit card at the same credit union. Only use it for gasoline or a few groceries, for example, then pay it off every frickin month.
@@Sar-ahGI’ve done this with almost every store😂. They often give you something crazy like 40% your first purchase. I wait until i need a shit ton, use it, pay it off and cancel
Or just don't use one?
Yes! And an explanation of what the statement balance even means! I think the guest mistakenly thought her “no interest charged” for her first month statement (maybe 2nd too if she didn’t wrack up the debt until after the 2nd month), then I understand why she thinks there is “no interest”.
There's something ironic about a Nigerian getting scammed in America
Absolutely 😂
Haha
Yeah, that’s where my head went as well. I still feel bad for this girl and wish her all the best. She’s truly trying.
That’s not irony. Irony would be Nigerians scamming Americans
"I have to pay her for raising me...." Wow, they really groomed her to be scammed and scammed. Hope she learns to take care of herself. Girl, I do just fine working for the Department of Justice with my Android, who does she think she is with a business phone 🙄

Question: How did you end up working for the DOJ? Any advice on how to get there?
@@btheb316 @btheb316 I'm an attorney, but there are non-attorney roles, too. If you're talking about being an attorney, I highly recommend specializing in an area of law DOJ covers right out of law school (like immigration or white collar criminal prosecution) and after you have 3-4 years of experience applying to anything relevant on USAJobs! You should also look into Honors Programs (DOJ jobs that hire you straight from law school in a variety of areas of law) and if that looks appealing definitely try for an internship while you're still in school!

It's not only because she's young though.
It’s astounding how naive she is though I was sheltered when I graduated high school but she’s Forrest Gump levels of sheltered. And the scary thing is she has no fear throwing away money for nothing
Ugh as a daughter of super strict and stubborn immigrants I felt so bad for this girl. I believe her when she said she felt like she HAD to give her family money.

I have quite strict immigrant parents but they won’t accept a penny from me 😅😅 Her parents are just horrible
I’m not apart of a culture my family was just poor and when I got money I felt obligated to give them money to survive.
Scams are nothing new, but the frequency and intensity with which young people get involved in them is new. Social media sells the notion that you can get rich quick with one good investment, one good side hustle, or one good connection. This feeling, when internalized, opens people up to all sorts of scam pitches.
When people believe that getting ahead takes hard work spent over a long period they see scams for what they are. When people believe the opposite, scams seem entirely reasonable and hard work seems like the scam.

Why do people with no money pay for a gym membership? You can run in your neighborhood and do sit-ups on your floor for free.
Equipment. Plus situps are not nearly as good to maximize athletic performance.
Tiktok and IG videos and posts.
Now that she bought the equipment she can quit.
I disagree. That is a valuable investment into your health.
Also if you can squeeze everything you can out of the membership you can actually benefit from it.
For example - only showering in the gym, blowing out your hair there, charging your devices, using your locker for storage, some offer free classes/trainer, some offer free food/protein shakes, etc.
Also the training itself can save you money from medicine, not being able to work due to illness; you can save on clothes because everything looks good when you're fit, you can save money on skincare and makeup because you look healthier and your skin looks better, same goes for hair care - hair looks healthier; you're expanding your life expectancy and years you would be able to work and feel good; you can get better and better paying jobs because employers like good looking, healthy people and are more lenient when hiring you; also you're way more productive and motivated when you work out and you can meet friends who are a good influence in the gym.
All of these claims are scientifically supported with the exception of the last one but if your current "friends" are encouraging bad financial habits then getting some gym friends will for sure save you money lol.
Honestly if you actually use it its not a real cost, as showers costs money and you spend 6-8 hours a week there as entertainment, one of the cheapest and healtiest hobbies you can have
That's a wild amount of stuff to get into at that age. And the fact that the family lent money for a weird dropship business makes me think they might be pushing her into the weird situations.
I’m the oldest daughter from an immigrant family, so I understand where she is coming from. But in my experience you have to take care of yourself first and then you can give even more abundantly. The cultural pressure is hard but I wasn’t generous for a few years, paid off my debt, set up savings and now a few months ago I took my family on vacation, paid for the entire trip in CASH. Sent my sister money for my nephews, spoil them endlessly. It feels so good to give to my family… but it only feels good because I’m not in debt and I am set up for my own life.

That was a dumb decision and unfair to the dog.
I'm afraid for this young lady. She is the EXAMPLE of needing guidance from a loved one. Too much is happening to our young women and girls in our country right now. Good luck
Her loved ones are perfectly fine taking money from someone without a job. There's no one that's going to look out for her.
I know she’s so young and seems hardworking and honest, but she has no one to guide her. Everyone needs a safe place to land and help them make good choices.

this is the best kinda episode, when someone isn't hiding from the situation that they are in - it means caleb can be so much more collaborative and calm while being direct and honest.
She’s 18 and thinks she’s done getting scammed but thinks with skin like that, at her age, that she needs a chemical peel. She’s being scammed again.
That is the modeling world sadly. You are never enough.
Caleb is my apple a day to keep the bad debt away.
As soon as I hear "im a model and actor", that instantly means "im unemployed"😂
Confirmed by the voice over accents that are all exactly the same crappy British accent
@@JayJaySprinx the same AI* crappy british voice.... but yeah...
acting and modeling are real jobs... and if we do something to stop the shitty AI from taking over they will always be real jobs...
modeling is her passion? Wtf does that even mean
Sometimes it means OF.
@@William-Morey-Baker acting and modeling are real jobs, but the vast majority of people who call themselves an actor and a model are people who post pictures on Instagram for 500 likes and had a part as an extra in a small time TV show one time 😂
I grew up with Arab parents like this and I had to give them an allowance every month. it’s been 1 year and I haven’t given them a penny since and I am so happy with life. Get rid of the toxicity that’s holding you down even if it’s family 🤷♀️
Bruh how much your parents take lol
I pay them 1/3rd and I get to live how I please
This is the entitled mentality. Paying a portion of rent to live and contribute is infinitely better than paying for an apartment. Not Arab but as a kid of immigrant parents that’s just disgraceful to hear from another minority
an allowance for your parents?! unless you are paying for their old folks home, that is ridiculous. good for you for getting out.
I'm an Arab and I just want to clarify that this is not at all a cultural thing, it's just your parents taking advantage of you. Ask any other Arabs and they'd be mortified that they're asking for any money from you
I’m not Arab but I’m Middle Eastern and I have to beg my parents to accept £50 😅
While she certainly makes questionable choices, I’d hate to be judged for the dumb **** I did at 18. She is the poster child for teaching basic financial literacy in high school. She is at a fork in the road financially… I hope she takes it.
She seems like she’s got a beautiful soul and just tries to do her best. Rooting for you, girl.
Hopefully another 5 scams don’t get promoted to her TikTok she might make something of herself.
I was sitting here @ 7:50AM wondering where my video was. Tysm bestie ❤

Oh it makes me so sad when I hear an 18 year old with perfect skin talk about needing a chemical peel. I know that's not the point of this video, but girl you don't need it!
This girl needs to slow down. Girl, you are in debt, losing money and ending up in very dangerous situations. Just slow down and be 18.
Yes breath .
‘Well this South African Slave loan😂’ not words I expected to hear out of Caleb’s mouth. @54 min in
Cant have pets when you travel often.
You dont dump your bad pet purchases on ppl.
You get pets when you can take care of them.
This.
With travel and time intensive careers like hers, her dog may be too much responsibility.
I'm shocked by the number of people who flippantly get animals, and are then surprised that leaving them alone is difficult. Like... I'm sorry, what did you expect, a plant? Why not just volunteer at a shelter instead? They can always use the help, and then you can get your cat/dog time in without as much obligation. It's a win-win.
My favorite days of the week is when a new financial audit comes out
Thanks for being here!
These videos help my work day fly by
Same😊
What days do they come out? Monday, Wednesday, Friday?
Big facts
I enjoyed this episode. I think she was truly interested and ready for a change.
She is beautiful yet young. I’m rooting for her! She will dig herself out of this. ❤
I love how patient Caleb is with her. It's good to see him understand how young she is and her situation
Ikr! Im happy to see he didn't get too upset with her
I thought she said A firm, like she was being represented. She said affirm 😢
Half a mil in investments and significant equity in my home... I still can't afford Doordash. How do people even justify?
One thing I noticed -- when Caleb told her about the 30% interest rate, she looked genuinely scared. That's a reaction I don't think I've seen in any of his other guests (and I've seen just about all of them).
I think she might have been confused about a "no interest on balance transfers" offer and thought that meant No Interest at all for six months. Unfortunately she asked if she would have to pay an extra 30% if she didn't pay in full *by May*, and the question went unanswered -- of course the 30% is annualized interest and she would only pay 1/12th of that in the month of May, but Caleb didn't hear her and didn't get a chance to correct her.
Kudos to her for being on the show. She's young and hopefully she's learned some hard lessons and now set herself up for success.
10:01AM... took you long enough!
She's being scammed and is so so lucky that she hasn't been trafficked.
Poor baby, breaks my heart shes young and naive. Please talk to the younger folks in your life, they wont ask for help, just have a conversation with them and mentor them. Im so glad she came to the show this early in her life. I wish her the best.
I love how she said how the scam was elaborate, and then she explained the most basic of scams lol
I feel like Caleb completely dismissed the fact that she was 1 month into a rent knowing it’s for a month and she bought a dog knowing she’s going to have to move out
Exactly! I also wanna know who tf sold a 17 year old a dog
@finley6161 anyone on the side of the road who sells dogs, puppy mills who don't care and even some pet stores that just don't care. Lot of places to unethicaly aquire a dog
This....she 100% got it knowing she couldn't have it. I'm sure she expected her parents to just be okay with it because what was done, is done. But that stuff dosent fly
@@finley6161 Who tf rents an apartment to a 17 year old?
@@chrispan3033also, who’s renting a $800 apartment to an unemployed 18 yr old. She said that’s how much her rent will be. And how does she even have enough for a deposit
18 on financial audit?? My expectations aren’t too high…
Actually, if he can help her think differently about money at this age, that's a bigger win than some of the other guests. Many of these people just come here to justify why their bad choices were not bad choices, meanwhile debt collectors are beating down their doors. Follow up episodes are pretty depressing.
i’m 19 and doing very very well for myself, fortunately. It’s unfortunate I don’t know too many people around me in my age who are doing as well as me or have the same mindset I do. I understand your comment, I wish there were more young people with an interest in finance and future.
I wish I would have had the chance to go on this show at 18.
The problem is that their income is always super wishy washy, which makes the whole show about budgeting seem pointless.
This is actually amazing for her, at 18 I wish I had someone lecture my finances. It’s thanks to Caleb’s videos I was able to think twice and act fact at 21
My brother modelled at Milan Fashion Week; everything he earned was eaten up by fees and ridiculous charges for services he hadn't ordered (like limousine pickup and dropoffs for auditions etc) and he ended up losing like a grand. Which was still worth it for the experience, but he never modelled again.
Tbh if he never modeled again then it wasn’t worth it
Hey Caleb! Appreciate toning down on the photoshop on the thumbnails.
Listening to your audience, we likey.

At least she is coming on the show at 18 and is learning from THE GOAT! Hopefully her financial life changes rooting for you!!
This was a really good episode. I feel like i learned a lot of stuff i never picked up in my teens. Thanks for having her on
So glad they updated the hammer financial score quiz. Just redid mine from a month ago and its more in depth. Thanks!!
Caleb is ACTUALLY changing lives. You guys have no idea how much of a blessing it would be to be 18 and get your finances looked at. Caleb you’re a god send for this generation.
"Hi, I'm a model and an actress"
"Awesome, so what restaurant do you work at?"
Nailed it
There are like 20 comments like this that are so rude for no reason😅. She’s barely an adult
In defense of that plan, people with model/actress looks and poise can make bank working at restaurants, especially nicer ones.
this. I hope she sees it. Apply to higher end restaurants and stores. Especially with her connections in the modelling industry. Just being a sales associate would bring in a reasonable salary.

fuckin mind blowing that parents could gaslight their kids into thinking they owe them anything
I have affirm and it told me no interest for 1 yr and I just checked it because of this and I have 23% interest! I’m going to pay that off! I was misled just like her!
18 and on financial audit. Good to catch whatever is going on here now rather than have it fester for years on end.

She had good intuition to not sleep in the same bed as that 40 yr old creep. If she wants to get into modeling and acting though, she better prepare herself for a lot more of those types of experiences. It's a disgusting industry out there and I hope she doesn't get taken advantage of or hurt.
To work in that industry, you gotta let the devil in.
For a person who makes basically nothing for income, spending $65 dollars a month on a gym is insane....
This "modelling" sounds like a big scam. U have to pay them, to work for them. Until u become 1 in a Million, then they'll pay u. Girls..... helloooo????😊
When I had a $3000 paycheck, I paid off all my credit cards. No questions asked, and haven't carried a balance on them since.
Did the same with my tax return this year lol I’ve since locked my credit card and I’m thinking about closing it 🤣
This generation didn’t get the memo that you shouldn’t trust people online 😢
responding to a TikTok comment promising money.... damn... she sure was young yeah
They're more gullible than boomers
Which is scary because almost their entire lives are lived online. :/
It's a catch-22 - go online to learn, but that's where the sharks and scammers are. Without good advice from family, how to know what's real?
@@arh1234 yes, good teachers and experience is everything
She needs to be told that she’s 18 and that you can’t cheat your way to the top unless you get lucky or your parents are rich. She’s not street smart enough (quite evident by getting scammed multiple times, having no clue on how credit works or interest, and walking into a sexual predators trap) to even notice major red flags in front of her face. Her best choice was seeing you so early in the process, had she been going at it for another year who knows what she would have gotten herself into- or if she’d even be alive.
Caleb! We paid off my private student loan this week and it feels SO GOOD!! Thank you for inspiring us to cut back on taquitos and take budgeting seriously to get things on track. Keep up the awesome work you and your team does!!
