No mention on how long to let paint dry. I tried #9 15 mins after last top coat and had running streaks. Do I need a 1st light coat of #9? Should I wait an hour for paint to dry?
You can sand and buff this shit now I have to respray both of my quarter panels. It work but on small arrears and don't try to get a show finish because you will cook it with a buffer and it will turn flakey.
And no mention of the chemistry of the existing finish? Is this a 2k finish underneath? Can I use this blender with a 2k clear on top? I thought that catalyzed paint, once cured, cannot be reactivated. Why would anyone clear a modern car with a solvent based clear? This doesn't make sense to me.
Yes you can use the Blender with 2K clears. Sand the original finish with P1500 and do your color blend then clear with the last coat more reduced. After the clear has flashed, use the blender to melt the new clear edge into your original sanded clear.
The result looks terrible. The surface is dull and mottled with terrible orange peel. You didn't wet sand and buff after because you can't with this garbage. Downright awful work. Most people viewed and didn't comment because they were too shocked to know what to say.
WOW, This is horrible technique. Don't spray the primer on the tape!?@! This repair is 5 times too big. At this point just clear the whole panel! FYI - NEVER spray the blender on material that is NOT sanded, it will be a huge crater field.
Cant believe u-pol used this as a demo video. Hope no one follows this technique or you will end up with a crap job
