      Chris, When do you use a clear bed with just binder and reducer and when does one use blend automotive clear coat such as the UPOL Blend 9?

    Great videos. Now that I have retired, I have some time on my hands to try to fix minor dings in my cars and detail out the scratched etc. What d/a polisher and products do you recommend. I am very much a novice at auto body stuff. will start with my 2013 ford expedition before moving to my 2020 lincoln nautilus and my 2020 Newmar Dutch Star Class A Thx

    What do you do if there's a definitive transition after the paint drys? Wetsand the transition line and coumpound?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому +2

      Depends where it's at I would try to avoid wet sanding a blend but you can. It's just more likely to show the blend line after you buff. If it's in an inconspicuous location than light wet sand lighly buff. If you try to buff it perfect you'll see the blend line.

    Hi Chris, Another question. The upgrade YT160 spray gun you are using is a upgrade to the R500. I can't find what the upgrades are? Do you know? Just appearance?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому +1

      It's just appearance update. Sprays the same as the R500

  • @tony1798

    Omg, great video.
    You said three turns from close on the paint volume.
    My garage would have been full of overspray.
    Is that lvlp gun the reason why it's los overspray

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes for sure, this is the lvlp paint gun helps a ton with less overpray.

    • @tony1798
      @tony1798 10 місяців тому

      @GarageNoise will a larger compressor work with the lvlp gun.
      And if I'm clearing an entire car, will it work. I'm telling you I've cleared a car in a garage. The entire garage was full of overspray, even with fans on.

    I just have one question do I gap my paper near the blend so it won't leave a hard line.

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому

      I perfer to gap it away from the blend but it can be done both ways.

    Chris is that 100% isopropyl for cleaning or a mix with water ?

  • @ericgonzales194

    Do you apply it over the existing clear coat so it can bond

  • @Jason-zr6il
    @Jason-zr6il 7 місяців тому

    How would you blend clearcout if you don’t have the blender/fade out spray?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  7 місяців тому +1

      You don't have to use it. It's just reducer in a can so if you have urethane reducer you can put it in your gun and sray a lite coat over the blend. Or use nothing at all .

    What do you think about the gun? Especially compared to the R500 ty

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому +1

      Sprays very well and is every bit as good as the orig R500. The only thing I wishbit had was indicators on fluid and fan adjustment knobs.

    What was the cost difference

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  10 місяців тому +1

      It could be $100 if I don't need to de trim the bumper and remove it, not in this situation because I already had it dismantled.
