Lots of comments about how people really like Fame and Misfortune. And looking back on this... okay, yeah, I am being way too harsh. I still stand by my score, but I could have been more tactful about it. Sorry to anyone I may have hurt.
Everyone has the right to their opinion, so long as they aren't rude to others for their opinion. You weren't rude so I wouldn't stress over it.
I hated that episode too. To be honest, what bugs me the most about it is *HOW* they screwed over M.A. Larson to fuck the critics. Not cool, guys. Not cool.
Declining ratings should be met with tact and grace...

@@joshscorcher Fair enough. But I feel that people who felt offended by the portrayal of fans most likely exhibit many of the toxic behaviours shown in it.
The episode essentially works as the showrunners holding a mirror to the fandom, reflecting on them. Some people didn't like what they saw.
Then again, you're also the guy who likes "Honest Apple" over "A Flurry of Emotions" and "Newbie Dash" over "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?", so opinions are subjective, I guess.

Fluttershy's job is that she handles pet adoptions. Evidence. Filly vanili when fluttershy was hosting a pet adoption drive.
She also makes sure the semi-wild animals of the village are cared for, preventing critter confrontation incidents.

In "No Second Prances", I think Celestia was just being impatient at a normal level. Also I like that you put your OC in the corner, nice touch.

Some of these ratings don't add up with the episodes he's previously reviewed.
I mean I guess that it's because "These opinions change overtime" but it still feels weird, especially if there's no note saying "Warning; Ratings of episodes may have changed as time went on so some episodes may not have been as good OR as bad as I remember" or something like that to prevent getting accused of "hypocrisy."

Everytime I see The Perfect Pair I die a little inside. It's a good episode and I actually really appreciate how they carefully handled this situation, being an orphan myself I am very very glad that they added this element into their show...I just can't handle the feels. @.@

I think her job is a shelter worker. she takes her animals to an actual vet, some shelters don't always operate on animals so they take them to the local vet. Also take may the best pet win. Fluttershy was offering dash to have a pet to take care of. Sounds like adoption to me
I figure she gets a grant from the government for helping tend to the local wildlife. Plus some bits from side jobs helping ponies deal with animal issues.
You're right and she is also a kindness friendship teacher at twilight's school,
And some kind of park ranger. Anyway Ponyville (town? village?) is paying for her. But I would like to have some actual mention what her job is anyway.

I personally love Flurry Heart especially because, although there was some confusion of why she was born an alicorn, she is not treated as being the "chosen one" or something special. Yeah born alicorn, clearly has stronger magic fluxes than a baby unicorn, but she's still just treated as what she is, a baby and quite honestly, I just find her adorable and glad for the fact that the show made no real moves of showing that there was something special in store for her.

Those reviews were hilarious. I think Flurry Heart will need more attention and development because while she's growing up, she really has to get a hold of her powers. I have a feeling bad things could happen if she's not careful with them.
I'm starting to think that AJ's parents didn't die, they just disappeared off the face of Equestria and will return in Season 9.
It would be a little disappointing if they copped out like that, but that honestly feels like it could be the case.
Not with how everypony talked about them or reacted everytime they were brought up. That was very clear "Something really bad happened" reactions, not "We have no idea what happened" reactions.

My bet is whatever controls the Timber Wolves took them, as I agree with Josh that they don't seem natural.

I enjoyed it too! I thought it was a much needed call out of the worst of the fandom at first... and then I became friends with a creative who dealt with fans WAY WORSE than the ones in Fame and Misfortune.
Now, it's one hell of an insight into just how stressed members of the staff must have been.
i was annoyed by parts of Fame and Misfortune.

Best episode of Season 6 of MLP is Dungeons and Discord yeah I'm that type of nerd that LOVES A Good fantasy adventure a side from playing Skyrim
3:52 not to mention it's the one A Christmas Carol adaptations where it's not just the Scrooge character who would suffer for their actions, but EVERYONE DIES! Like to see even ONE other Christmas Carol story claim that it had the balls to say the worst case scenario is EVERYONE ends up dead

I suspect Jim Miller was behind 'Fame and Misfortune'. He basically went through a phase where he hated the Brony fandom and the message of this episode is 'adult fans, get lost; we're writing for the kids and only the kids'.
Where is Seasons 8 and 9? Sorry for being snippy, but... we're waiting for the epic conclusion to this hilarious saga.
It's ironic. Flurry of Emotions is Lily Orchard's #4 episode, yet is Josh's #3 worst of S6+7. And he also likes Newbie Dash and Parental Glidance, Lily's #1 and #2 worst, respectively.
Why shouldn't it be? It's a nice episode with a good lesson (and this is coming from someone who's come to regard MLPFiM as the worst work of fiction in the world). Plus, in general, Lily's got it more together than any Brony on Earth.

Flutter Brutter hit way to close to home for me when I watched it. It hit way to close to home for me since I used to act exactly like Zephyr for the longest time, and watching Flutter Brutter opened my eyes to how bad that kind of lifestyle was. I’m much better now, and I owe it all to that episode.
Nice opinion, but I personally hated that episode, if only because it didn't feel like an MLP episode!

@@Vavalry It's hard to explain, but I found Zephyr to be annoying, he's treated like he's in the right at the end, and everyone is out of character, especially Fluttershy who is a lot less kind than usual. But, again, if you relate to it, I won't argue with you! I promise I'm nice!
@castleprice I didn’t find Fluttershy to be out of character. She has gotten more assertive in season 5, and she really shows she isn’t a pushover and is instead applying the lessons she learned to real situations. Zephyr is rarely treated like he’s right considering he was called out multiple times. I actually enjoyed the episode

Why does everyone hate Flurry so much? She's just supposed to be funny and adorable. I don't particularly like her, but I don't find anything wrong with her.
I think it's mainly the clumsy set-up. In the TV series and comics prior it's established that alicorns are made, not born. Applejack even says so when they all see Flurry's wings, and the princesses merely say "It's beyond our understanding". Yet nopony asked the obvious, "What about YOU two?" Were Celestia and Luna born to alicorn parents, or did they come into it like Cadence and Twilight? Plus it kind of undermines the idea of "earning" alicornhood, which is how Twilight getting her wings was justified. Also, with everyone going on about unusual Flurryheart is, I believe some of us were wondering if she'd have a greater part to play in the story arc, like she'd be a child of prophecy or something like that. But nope, so far she's just a cute, dangerously destructive baby.

The comics were declared non-canon, so that’s not a reliable source. They said it never happened in Equestria before, and they predate Equestria. I don’t see how hard it is to understand. They never established it was literally the only way, unless you have a quote to back this up
I really love how a grown up man can enjoy MLP as much as little kids can! I find it lovely :'3
But aside from that, I love all these episodes! Even though, the only episodes I hate are the ones that are basically like if all the Animal Jam drama became a TV series.

I did. I really don't get the flack it gets. Really I don't get it for any season except 3.
I liked season 6 more or less as well, including the premier. While it wasn't anything super amazing and kinda an average season, alone there were still some good and fun episodes to be had. And I feel that the good does outweigh the bad in the end.
Season 7 after it and most seasons before it clobber it in quality though, which may be the issue, I suppose. Alone it's a fine season, but compared to some of the seasons before it and even after, it doesn't hold up quite as well.
@@7Seraphem7 Expectations Vs what we actually got. A lot of people get hung up on what they expect/want from something, and ignore how much fun what we got actually was.
The Mean Six was a hysterical and tightly written dose of character comedy, but too many people complain that it wasn't a massive mid season game changer with DRAMATIC WEIGHT! and other such stuff that I've paraphrased in that exclamation, and miss the fun.

And I wouldn't say all other seasons blow 6 away. 5 and 7 did, but I'd rank it about the same as 8 and slightly ahead of 4 and 2, well ahead of 1 and 3. But yeah, it does feel, just rather average.
While 6 didn't have any massive, epic highs like Slice of Life, Amending Fences, Perfect Pair, or Royal Problem, it also didn't have any massive bombs like Princess Spike, Fame and Misfurtune, MMDW, PYHD, etc...
to me S6 is the one with the highest number of episodes I didn't like, but I indeed enjoyed the good ones a lot
To me, S6 has very good and very bad eps, sort of a big high big low thing, whereas 8 was more on the nothing horrible nothing amazing, which ones is preferred is up to the individual

For some reason Josh treats flurry heart like an adult Pony a lot of the time when she is a baby, so he has stupid reasons for hating on the adorable baby that is flurry heart
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Now I put Honest Apple as my worst of S7, but my biggest gripe wasn't AJ, but Rarity and the others because as an artist and someone who had to learn how to give critiques in college, Rarity and the others performance pissed me off. It's no wonder AJ was getting frustrated because they were all speaking hogwash at times! I will admit though AJ did make a big mistake in destroying that hat. I literally had to look away at the part.
Josh seems to have an issue with baby ponies in general due to his PBCSD, and an issue with any Alicorn to come after Twilight due to his experience with Super Saiyans.
Rarity was dumb but watching AJ DESTROYING stuff that other ponies worked hard on was just enfuriating.

5 best- Yeah, I freaking loved this, pretty much second best Christmas Carol take. (How can you top the Muppets?) I do not get people who were pissed and hated it, just based on it doing the CC story.
4 Worst- Eh, yeah it could have done some things WAY better, but still worked overall. I don't really get the 'continuity flaws'. The last time most of these ponies saw Trixie she was a meglomanicial crazy-mare ruling them with an insane iron hoof. As to Twilight having forgiven her, doesn't mean she has to like her, and Trixie's personality just rubs Twilight the wrong way. Some people just clash like that. That said, yeah, the Celestia writing was just... bad. So should have had that last cut to her and the other three shown them just partying down and having a great time without Twilight.
3 best- Yes, this is how you have some fun with your fans! Not..... well you'll get to that.
2 Worst- I get the impression you don't like Flurry Heart. Awww but she's so adorable! Still, eh, yeah lot of 'just go with it' in that ep. Though they DID explicitly explain that last one. Cadance wasn't using her power to hold back the snow, just Sombra, the snow wasn't an issue because the Heart was still intact and in the city.
Worst..... yup it's just plain freaking horrible. Even beyond the mean spirited jabs and horrible messaging. I just loathe it for being a really, really, really bad story that makes no damn sense at all from a purely watsonian POV. On the plus side, Daring Done? seems to have retconed that thing away, given there was no mention to how Twilight blabbed her secret about being real to all of Equestria. Also, you know, that these events are never mentioned again dispite how huge things were without ever being addressed.
Best.... well, yeah, why the hell would anyone rant about someone placing the best ep of the show as, the best ep?
Doubt we'll see the real story of them dying, but a few remarks from some writers have been pretty consistent with the general agreement around the writing table is they were killed by Timber Wolves.

IT IS A BABY!! What the hell do you expect. Oh no this BABY doesn't have enough character development and delivers nothing for a season. Yes, let's ignore the fact that she is a BABY who's only purpose is to be cute and "gugugaga" and is a side-character.

What did you expect out of flurry of emotions flurry heart is a baby we can't learn anything else about her besides the enforcing the fact that she's a BABY, and with Cadence and Shining Armor they're just trying to have a calm day just to themselves looking at art made by an old friend of shining's, this episode was just supposed to be cute and it succeeded at that
Eh, I agree, but some people just don't like baby characters.
Flurry wasn't the problem for me, it was Twilight in this episode because as soon as she said she'd watch the baby I knew where the episode would go. I couldn't believe she'd take a baby to where sick foals were. YOU DON'T DO THAT! Plus I was not happy with Cadence and Shining for springing Flurry on Twilight at the last minute. Having been around kids of all ages and being old enough to remember my youngest brother being a baby, you always have to call a head of time if you need help, UNLESS it's an emergency.
Eh, the hospital thing could be worked around, but needed explaining. This could be a condition that's only communicable in the early stages, and the foals were in the 'no longer contagious, but still need to recover from it' stage. Or, alicorns are immune to disease, or, just magic of some kind or other.
Cadance and Shiny, yes, they should have, but first time parents that are too stressed and exhausted to be thinking straight, I can see it happening. And they did admit they screwed up by doing that, so points there.

I wonder if anyone would get the reason why Flurryheart was born an alicorn is because of genetics. Obviously Alicorn genes would be more dominant than unicorn genes. And I'm guessing Shining was the only pony to ever knock up an Alicorn hence why Celestia and Luna don't know about it. Eventhough this just raises more questions about Alicorns.

Twilight's hypocritical movements of Starlight and Trixie becoming friends is one of the reasons why I think that Twilight Sparkle has proven herself unworthy of being a princess. Like how Kross has proven himself unworthy of being a ranger.
I'm asking alot of mlp reviewers the same question. How do you deal with copyright? I want to make UA-camr reviewing my little pony. And I noticed how you would show pictures and clips of the show. And I wonder how do you not get copyrighted?

i need to know your opinion on Horse Play
Horse Play was kinda boring. Celestial not knowing anything about theater is a bit of a stretch considering she’s over 1000 years old (or something like that). I just find it to be a bland episode, with a very important line about actions mattering more than intention

Not surprised that The Perfect Pear was number one. I hope we get another episode with the Apple parents but I acknowledge that this is unlikely if the series is wrapping up as rumored. Until then, though, I still think Hasbro may be trolling us with that "leak".
My nitpick about "Hearths Warming Tale" was the timing; I can't think of anyone who would want to see a Christmas special in January.
