As a long time Zep fan, love your reaction. Bonzo is considered one of, if not THE, greatest rock drummers of all time. Bill Ward and John Bonham were friends (and Bonham was close friends with Black Sabbath guitarist, Tony Iommi). Your reaction to all of it, singer, guitarist, drums, highlights why Zep is one of the greatest bands of all time. They had it all. Don't forget John Paul Jones is one of the great rock bassists and multi-instrumentalists. One of the most sampled drum parts is on Led Zep IV, When The Levee Breaks. Listen to that and you will probably recognize it. The song Dazed and Confused was actually stolen from Jake Holmes (they didn't give proper credit) but LZ is the reason why it is famous- the famous guitar riff is all Jimmy Page (not from the JH version), and then Plant's amazing vocals and amazing drums and bass bring it to life in a way never done before. Jimmy Page used to play this with the Yardbirds before he started Led Zeppelin, but the YB version sucks by comparison. If you like what you have heard, one of the greatest things with Led Zeppelin is to listen to each of their albums in order, one by one, to hear their evolution as a band. They have a tremendous breadth of variety and styles that few bands can equal.
I wonder how good you’d still think the singer Robert Plant and the drummer John Bonham are when you realize that when they recorded this they were both 20😱😱
Led Zeppelin is what you get when you export the Mississippi Delta Blues sound of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, etc., mix it with an English interpretation and send it back to America as kick-ass Rock-n-Roll.
Ask any real drummer, and I do mean a real drummer, who knows, and they will tell you, there is one section during levy, when bonham plays the fastest that anyone has ever played. Where it sounds like he's bouncing this stick, hes not, he straight sticked ig. l.h. r.h .l.h r.h. and take it from a very experienced drummer, it's not easy to do.
What we have Been enjoying for 50 years that's how old this song is and how long led zepplin has been around .i bought this album when I was 15 ..I'm 63 now ..welcome brother ..
That interlude was probably the most prominent example of Plant and Page doing their... thing. :D They do that vaguely sexual back and forth with vocals and guitar a lot, it's just part of the whole Zeppelin magic, I guess I could say. And yeah, Jimmy Page is using a violin/cello bow to create those spooky sounds.
I've always been in love with Led Zeppelin my whole life and to see this guy also fall in love and have the same reaction is just so awesome, Robert Plant has my heart.
Nobody hit the drums harder, but Bozzo also had incredibly fast peddle speed... Other top drummers couldn’t believe he could do what he did back then...
Not only one of the greatest rock songs ever, but also a drum intro that's been sampled tons of time and used on a LOT of great hiphop tracks. Definitely a strong choice for a Zeppelin song to use as an introduction for a hiphop head
The tension in your face is priceless. You look so worried, exactly how the song intends you to feel. If you have ever loved a woman then you know insanity. This is the musical.
Great video, man! I recommend the Zeppelin song 'When The Levee Breaks' (imagine a powerful rock version of a hip-hop style beat, it's one of the most sampled drum beats in music!) and also 'Black Dog', 'Whole Lotta Love', 'In My Time of Dying' and 'Kashmir'. And 'Moby Dick' if you really wanna see what John Bonham (yes you said his last name right) is capable of! Only thing to watch out for is copyright strikes/blocking for Zeppelin content, which might mean editing the songs during your Zep reactions or posting them on Vimeo (with a UA-cam link to the Vimeo Zep reaction).
Dude - welcome to Led Zeppelin - the greatest rock band that ever was and ever will be. First- yes the guitar and vocal sounds are meant to be like an orgasm! Robert Plant - what a voice. John Bonham is by far the greatest rock drummer ever. those grooves are so musical and so heavy. Jimmy Paige - one of the best ever guitarists and definitely one of the most unique. John Paul Jones- greatest rock bass player ever and a monster keyboard player. Watch their live No Quarter - if it doesn't make you hard, then you need Viagra. It was cool watching you get it Dazed and Confused.
Zeppelin has been my favorite band since high school in the nineties. It put a big smile on my face to watch the reaction of someone who’d never experienced them before and really enjoyed it. Still the greatest rock/blues/folk band that ever existed.
My good brother, i love your reaction but this is not the best example of John Bonham's talent as a drummer. I am an old professional drummer from those days. I've played all of those songs in my career. Listen to Black Dog, The Ocean, Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker,Rock 'n Roll,When the Levee Breaks, thx Eric, Ramble On etc, etc, etc. I have alot more history for you. I remember exactly where i was the first time i heard Zepp on the radio. It was the song Good Times, Bad Times. I was there. I was a young drummer and hearing Bonham changed my whole concept of being a drummer. Please don't call him John B. Some people nicknamed him Bonzo, but he is the one and only John Bonham. Pronounced, John Bonnum, may he rest in peace. He died way to young. Thank you for educating young people about real music. We will never hear another band like them. Bonham was one of the best natural drummers in music history. Right there with Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. I just had this thought while editing my comment. Bonzo was the Jimi Hendrix of modern drummers. Luv ya brother. Good job. Now go review the other Zepp songs i named. Thx

Hillary's emails to Lorne I heard him play Mandolin on a tv show. And he was virtuosic. He played all his instruments that well. The unsung hero of Led Zeppelin.
For example here he is on mandolin: ua-cam.com/video/oLU08nOtUkc/v-deo.html But he also did most of the keyboards not to mention bass. I think he can play like 18 instruments. all of them REALLY well.

@@RoosterIB As a non-drummer, I have to give Neal co-ownership of the number one spot for best drummer ever. Peart really is that good - to my ears - perfect even. However, my personal preference is Bonham - he's just got so much groove!
@SAM GW In what way? They were both born a month apart and purple had released 3 albums by the time Led Zep 1 was released so they were contemporaries. Ian Paice set a new standard on those discs although it was the live stuff that showcased him. Mandrake root especially. Ian Paice is the more technical drummer, He could do more stuff with hands and feet, faster. I’ve never heard anything like space trucking in my life (live in concert 1970 version) absolutely crazy - the bass drum does not sound human That double thing Bonham did early doors was great, Good times bad times - Speed king did the same thing on the single version released a year or so later (anything you can do!) With Bonham for me it was groove, aggression, power, sound and lovely combos between his hands and feet. I like both drummers but neither of them could hold a candle to Buddy Rich as you put it Bonham said as much interview and B Rich is Paicy’s favourite drummer. BR was doing these type hands feet combos a decade before these guys had reach teens.
@Sam GW They never played each others tracks so we don't have that sort of a comparison. I cannot see anyone playing Fireball Mandrake Root Living Wreck Space Trucking Child in time like Paice. It's a matter of taste of you prefer Bonham that's your preference.
That's 9 albums of rock n roll mastery and pure and true greatness. A wrestler , Macho Man Randy Savage said as it well it can be said," these guys were just on another level", that's just a fact of rock and roll history. Un believable foursome of talent and Page with help I'm sure, took it places that is just rarified air. What Einstein and Tesla were to science, Zeppelin is to Rock-n-Roll.

@@fasteddie777666 It's all down to opinion mah man, We can't judge music, Bonham was the one who inspired me to pick up the sticks so TO me he is the best. But I respect your opinion!
@@fasteddie777666 The only reason why Bonham was a profesional for only 12 years and Peart still is is because Bonham died at age 33 at the highest peak of his creativity. Peart is great, but comparing him with Bonham with just that is useless and almost stupid. Influenced by Buddy Rich (as well as other great drummers of the time like Ian Paice), Bonham was pretty much the Hendrix of drums, being very creative and incredibly versatile, so his contribution to rock music was and still is invaluable. Peart is a legendary prog rock drummer, influenced by Keith Moon, with amazing writing and composing skills, setting new lines in prog as soon as Rush popped-up in the map. But for me and many, Bonham is still the best for his creativity and amazing contributions.
And to think this is OVER 50 years old. Class never dies. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Bonham and John Paul Jones - Thank you for educating these guys!
A good portion of all their songs are covers of old blues songs. That is definitively black music. Their entire style is derived from black culture. He is making a very relevant comparison.

Moby Dick# REACTION FOR DRUMS

Fool in the rain for me
@monokhem Definitely Achilles Last Stand. Almost 10 minutes of drum savagery. Great, great tune.
The singer is Robert Plant
Listen to "Fool in the Rain" for epic drums.
Truth...my friend plays the drum parts note for note, and it took him a couple of months to nail it, but it was worth it...especially the time break where they speed it up.
Yes moby dick has to be top 3 greatest drum solos ever
I listened to "Fool In The Rain" b4 school in 1979 on the radio and had absolutely no idea that they would soon become my favorite band of all time! LOfreakinL

Love that song.
Super rad to see a genuine reaction to the power of Zeppelin. Rock on brother
Yeah “Moby Dick” the live full version is nearly 15 minutes of the most insane drums and bongos you will ever see.
Robert Plant...black on the inside, white on the outside. Your reaction is priceless! Thank you!

One of the best drum performances I've ever heard.

Although it only got played live once or twice, my three favorite Bonham performances are : When the Levee Breaks, Achilles Last Stand and Fool in the Rain. With Kashmir, really, really close.
Your reaction at 7:36 is amazing. The weight of the Led is real! “Since I’ve Been Loving You” is a really great blues song by Led Zeppelin. It will not disappoint!
I wanted to say”wait for it wait for it!” You can’t be impatient with Zeppelin. Patience is required for them to rock you to the core!

Much respect to this video and showing having an open mind can lead to new ideas and openness:) people dont pigeon hole your music experience get out there and listen to everything you get your hands on make your music scape interesting
I wonder how good you’d still think the singer Robert Plant and the drummer John Bonham are when you realize that when they recorded this they were both 20😱😱
He would think they were prodigies for being able to compose and record that at only 20 years old.
And they were.
Hip hop head: “His voice got some soul to it.”

Robert Plant does have 'black country' in him. Soul is universal. Like suffering. It is colour blind.
A good portion of all their songs are covers of old blues songs. That is definitively black music. Their entire style is derived from black culture. He is making a very relevant comparison.
The Black Country in England is called that because of coal mining and smoke & soot from heavy industry, but yeah I agree with the rest. He got his sense of soul from listening to black American artists.
John Heenan no such thing as “black music “
colorblind social philosophy is incredibly ignorant.
