Imagine not ever hearing Stairway to Heaven before.... that's crazy. It's one of the greatest songs ever written.
Makes me feel old!!
Imagine being able to hear the entire Zeppelin catalogue for the 1st time again.
@@merhaba8 welcome to the club! :-)
There are tribes that have never heard a note of music they didn’t play themselves, the entirety of human musical evolution, unheard, unknown.
You missed the very end...
This tune is 50 years old, half a century , think about that for a moment .
It is incredible that it’s still as fantastic a song now as it was back then. An epic classic!
Wow 😯
And it remains, as one of the greatest songs ever, that time cannot erase.

We were so lucky to have this music in our youth.

No kidding. I will listen to anything from classical to country to rock to heavy metal to anything and everything in between. If it's great, it's great.
There are only 2 types of music...good music and bad music....
Well some genres are better than others and Zepplin is in the all time elite class of rock music.
Yes
Yep, people ask me what my favorite kind of music is, i just say "What ever my ears like."
Led Zeppelin is not your normal rock band. They're a mystical band. The music not only touches your mind but your spirit as well.
Absolutely !
They were in touch with something on another level
dude you have to take weeds before listening this music to fly your soul out of you body.😂
@@berting8123 Not me. I take it by your comment that you do.
Sorry but rap listeners have no clue what real music is, but look at reaction when they do, its like they realize they been paying for what it should be called CRAP a beat box and some stupid rhyme is not music or does not take talent as shown by the millions of people who call themselves rappers. Most could not sing doubt any but a handful ever played a instrument and bet most cannot read or write a note of music as all they do is fire up a beat box and spit out rhymes that are senseless but it rhymes so it is rap bahahahahahhahaha
At 76 years old, I still love this band. Thanks for being open to the contributions my generation made to the world of music.
Your generation had the best era of music BY FAR. It makes me so jealous as a 26 year old.
One the biggest, famous songs in the history of rock. Best drummer, guitarist and vocal.
I love how he knows how good this song is and he's dying to tell his mate.
@Jayvee TV please react to Sleeping Giants. Middle Finger. 2 Scottish guys singing in a living room. Unreal. Raw talent.

I wanted to be mad, but he stopped exactly where I would have while sharing it.😂
Well yeah ... I mean, my man has 240,000 views on his first reaction to it, of course he's going to show his mate and get a second round on it. My man probably going to do the live version next, show his mama, his grandma, his neighbour, his priest. Keep the views commin'.

No one's ever to old to listen to LED ZEPPLIN.
After 35 years listening to this song, still gives me the chills when those drums come in

Have you all seen Led Zeppelin being honored at the Kennedy Center? Heart sang it with Bonhams son at the drums. Brought a tear to the band mates watching.
This song is like a soothing gentle rain that turns into a total and complete unstoppable hurricane that will sweep you up and pull you completely in.

“Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run there’s still time to change the road you’re on”...words to live by...

Ironically, this line is one that conservative Christians point to as an example of the satanic influences in this song. According to them, the bible says there is only one way to god and heaven.
@@BDogg2023 I see it more as a virtuous path or an evil path...I’m more of a live and let live person...If they want to believe that, more power to them. I only have issues with violent, supremacist religions...
@@bob5074 Christianity is an inherently violent, supremacist religion. They have no tolerance or interest in your interpretation, but will gladly write laws to restrict your life. As a child, I was forced to sit through an entire sermon on the multitude of supposed satanic references in this song. Btw, “There’s still time to change the road you’re on” 100% sounds like “here’s to my sweet satan” when played backwards.
@@BDogg2023 you must be talking about Christianity before the New Testament...I’m not religious btw...Christians generally turn the other cheek, although all religions have their zealots...I was talking about Islam. Islam won’t change because their book is the final word of god and they can’t have a New Testament. Christians definitely try to get others to join their religion, but Muslims do that by the sword...you should maybe not be mad at the sermon, but mad at the person that made you sit through it.
Robert Plant the singer lives about 5 miles from where I live in the Uk. He is a Wolverhampton Wanderers football fan and I had the privilege to sit by him with his son. He is an humble guy and very polite 🇬🇧

I am so glad that I grew up in a time when music like this was made.
Ah, yes me too. The 70s had the best music.
Wish I could’ve been in that era with y’all. I’m only 31 but I would’ve preferred to have born in the late 40’s early 50’s it just seems like the world was much calmer then. Not to mention the cars. I could only imagine myself getting in a lot of trouble. Much better music than there is now as well. Everything today is all about internet, cell phones, social media; it’s absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. But hey maybe I’m an old soul.

So wonderful...my senior class song in '72 and these guys are wild about my all-time favorite, SRV...privileged to have seen him in Austin
Yes, it has been played a lot... but it has been played a lot for a reason. One of the greatest rock songs, if not the greatest, of all time.
My Era of music and this is one of my three all time favorites after all these years. This was released in 1971... fifty years ago!
This has been voted by critics as the greatest rock song ever, more than once.
Close to the Edge by Yes is my favourite.
It’s deff Top 5. It’s the best from Led, but you also have Queen, The Who, The Beatles, AC/DC, and the likes of Pink Floyd.
There’s so many bands that have beautiful songs. It’s so hard to narrow it down to which is just the best. Yes in the digital era you can look at the streams and how many likes and dislikes or look at total record sold since release, but it’s more then just that. It’s what the song means to the individual listeners. With each band having such a wide spread fan base across multiple generations it’s makes it nearly impossible in all honesty to say one song is the best.
Now don’t @ me saying I hate this song. That’s is FAR from the truth. This is in my top 25 played, and I binged Skrillex in High School and Broadway come college. Just my two cents.
I'm so glad that was before I was born so the radio didn't kill it for me!
One of the things I really love about Stairway is that you go through that whole first part of the song without even missing the drums, then they come in and turn the song into practically a whole other genre of music. Just layer after layer, each one taking you a little further along. It's a cliche, but this song really takes you on a journey.
It's my therapy song, in the car, full blast, with or without grandkids in the car. Lol
It's taking you further step by step while being called "STAIRWAY to heaven" 😅
I believe the slow build up is what makes it so great and powerful. As it builds I slowly turn the volume up more
Bang on the halfway mark.
Thats why it is the best song ever.
I have never made it through this song without a tear or two.

I just love watching the joy on these guys faces as they listen to this song. I felt exactly the same way 40+ years ago when I heard it for the first time. I’m an old white guy but watching these guys get increasingly swept away by the music as the song crescendos made me feel a real connection and kinship with them. We need to beam this song into the brains of all southerners, and those in the breadbasket states. Give 'em a break from their country music, for a few minutes.
I bought Led Zeppelin IV when I was 10 years old for this song. I’m 58 and I’ve still got it.
This song was played at the end of every school dance, if you picked a girl to dance she knew she was special.
Imagine being a 15 year old guitarist hearing this when it slammed into North America in 1971. The composition and genius of this arrangement stunned us all. A very real time for musical discovery while the Vietnam War ground our souls day after day. It was magic.
Back when music was carefully produced, naturally. Every note perfectly refined.
I don't have to imagine it. I bought this album the day came out. It's hard to describe in words what it was like back then. There was wave after wave of never-before-heard styles of music. They just appeared like magic out of nowhere. It was visceral you could feel it, brand new nothing like it ever before. I said it was difficult to put into words cuz I still haven't done it.
Back in 71 I can still see myself sitting in front of our stereo with headphones on.
I thought this was the most astonishing piece of music. The guitars were the most beautiful I ever heard.

@@billrobertjoe I know. And I don't want to get too deep into this subject but, through his books, other written works, many English Rock Bands were influenced by his theosophy and when Jimmy Page bought Boleskine House Manor in early 1970's, "the hanging" out of English Rock Bands exchanged Crowley's occultism ideas. The link is a list of the Bands Crowley influenced. Some Background:
The Boleskine House is a manor on the south-east side of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is notable for having been the home of author and occultist Aleister Crowley, and Led Zeppelin guitarist and producer Jimmy Page.
Crowley became infamous for stories of conducting black magic and various other rituals while residing at the house; one of his pseudonyms was "Lord Boleskine". His lodge keeper, Hugh Gillies, suffered a number of personal tragedies, including the loss of two children. Crowley later claimed that his experiments with black magic had simply got out of hand.

Perhaps THE most iconic song in all of rock. If this song doesn't grab you, you probably won't like rock much.

Considering that Jimmy's solo has regularly been considered the #1 solo in the history of hard rock, you're among the vast number of people who've heard it over the last five decades and have been impressed. Great music withstands time. Not many things in life do.
There's a reason they are the Mighty Zeppelin. So many classic songs.
This song IS my STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN! You should check out Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin-the whole LZ part..but ESPECIALLY 'Heart' doing this song w/John Bonham's son, Jason on drums. KILLER VERSION..think I love it even more. Gives me chills EVERYTIME I listen + watch it. Impressed Led Zepplin themselves!! Most played song on the radio...
In the 60's there was the Beatles. They changed music. Never, ever will we have a band like them. The Beatles parted ways in 1970 and passed the torch to Led Zeppelin ushering in a new era. The music was different from the 60's and defined the 70's and they were just as great. Unfortunately, 1980 came and the mighty Zep came to an end with the death of their drummer, John Bonham. The torch went out. There will never again be bands like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
This song never ages. And I can't believe he hasn't heard it before.
It's too much to absorb in one hearing.
So nice to see two beautiful smiles appreciating Zeppelin. I remember getting home from high school after sports practice, going to my room and setting my books down and dropping on my bed as I listened to Zeppelin. It's a great song to unwind to. Take care and be well, guys. Peace.
Love Led Zeppelin, miss John Bonham, their drummer, the backbone to their music. RIP John Bonham.
There is a reason why songs and bands like this have endured for decades and are STILL being loved and enjoyed by even the younger generations now.
Reminds me of what Tom Holland's Spider-Man said in "Far from Home" when he was on the plane making his new suit and happy said "You take care of the suit, I'll take care of the music"
He then puts on what Peter either thought was zeppelin but was ACTUALLY AC/DC lol.
But at least he knew about Zeppelin even if he doesn't know all of their songs
As with most British rock, patience, no rush. everything has a meaning
Timeless…. this song brings tears to my eyes and makes my hair stand up on end!! 50 years later it still moves me. Live version at MSG is a masterpiece.
Does anybody remember laughter?
Me too, brother. Every single time.
@Jorge Gonzalez the MSG version is my favourite! Gives me goosebumps, gets me everytime I hear it.
@Jorge Gonzalez timeless indeed…
Me too!!
I listened to Led when I was teen in the 70s. You have to imagine we didn't use headphones. My mother let us blast the stereo whenever we wanted.
I was a teenager when I first heard LedZeppelin and it blew my mind. It was so different to anything I had heard before. I realized there were things missing in my life that I had to go looking for. And I did. I enjoy this song every time I hear it to this day.
NOBODY is disappointed by Stairway to Heaven. Led Zeppelin is hard to beat.
It's considered the Best song in the history of Rock if not in music ever.
Heard LA Woman?
This, one by metallica and bohemian rhapsody by queen
Not by everyone, but it is a great tune
@@sondersonics7534 swap one by Metallica with Comfortably Numb by pink floyd then yes
@@exiliate17 I mean, "One" is pretty phenomenal. The best music will always be opinion based not fact anyways:)
Man love your work. Some "reactors" are just loving the sound of their own voice, pausing every 10 seconds but you pause at strategic points and honour the music. I love how the smile creeps across your buddies face as the solo kicks in. Also you have the music at at level you can hear. Great vid. Great work. The best i have heard so far!!! AWESOME!!! Great commentary too!
Big zeppelin fan. Brings back great memories in high school. Glad these guys enjoyed it! Man I smiled when they smiled!
Seeing the absolute joy on their faces when Jimmy starts to shred is a gift!
Watching Jovaughn introduce his bud to Stairway to Heaven was literally a thrill. I had chills. Like hearing it for the 1st time all over again after 50 years. Tremendous! 😎❤️❤️
Oh my ...me too. Those memories flow back in.
I felt the same way!
I've loved this song since 1972 and it never disappoints! But sharing his experience with these two guys was GREAT! It's the next best thing to going back to the first time I heard it and being blown away! Thanks, guys! This was fun!
There should never be a debate regarding Led Zeppelin. They were groundbreakers, and they always will be.
The beginning isn’t a flute it’s a professional recorder. Not those plastic recorders you get in grade school but a wood recorder played by John Paul Jones the Bass player.
JPJ, the greatest all-round handiman in music. He. Can. Play. Anything.
Really? Oh my gosh!!!
@@Heywoodthepeckerwood You'd better believe it, Sonny-Jim. Recorders. Anything.
Actually he’s playing that on keyboards, but it sounds exactly like a recorder. But it is true JPJ can play anything.
@@ginadargento1754 I don’t want this to devolve into something negative but I’m quite sure that Jones played the recorder. In fact he is credited as being the player of a bass recorder, a tenor recorder, and a soprano recorder on the recording. I’m sure when they played this live they used a keyboard because you can’t play three recorders at once.
The smile that crept across your face when they started jamming was FANTASTIC!
My first concert in '75.
Unparalleled musicians.
One of the Greatest songs ever played, sung and so much more.
To see the smile on your faces when Jimmy page begins that oh so famous solo is priceless!
Okay, true story: I went to high school in the 80's in New Jersey, and EVERY SINGLE high school dance ended with this song. You knew before you even showed up to the dance who you were going to dance with to this song at the end of the night. How you knew the dance was about to end was, this song would come on, and you'd go find that person and dance with them to this song. Whenever I hear this song, I get a strong olfactory memory of what it smelled like to rest my head on the shoulder of my high school boyfriend: what his tee shirt smelled like, what his hair smelled like, what his skin smelled like, the whole thing. I think this tradition had been in place at that school for at least ten years before I got there. UNTIL. Until this one time, some club or sport or whatever sponsored a dance at the high school, and they must have hired a DJ that had never DJ'ed a dance at our school before, because he ended the dance with a completely different song. THE WRONG SONG. So NONE of us knew that the dance was about to end. That song ended, and when another song didn't come on, we all just stood there on the dance floor confused. We figured it was some sort of technical problem with the turntables or something, so we just stood there and waited. And then the DJ was like, "Thanks everybody for coming, I hope you had a great night, blah blah blah," and we went into a state of deep shock. We couldn't believe the dance was over. We just stood three on the floor of the high school gym in the dark, confused, not knowing what to do. We figured it had to be some sort of prank, and if we just waited, he'd play Stairway to Heaven. BUT HE DID NOT. And then THE LIGHTS CAME ON. We were, like, traumatized. We stood there looking around at each other like, WTF IS HAPPENING? Until finally we had to accept our reality, that this dude had violated the most sacred tradition of the the high school dance, and one by one, we slowly walked out, speechless. That's how important this song was to us.
Absolutely...the same thing in the 70's except when Stairway started the girls would SCREAM. I made sure to find that special someone. My olfactory right now is smelling Heaven Sent and the little brunette who I met at a dance and took to 3 proms (hers and mine). I can feel the sway and my heart pounding. No other song did this.
In the 70's it was either Stairway or Nights in White Satin
This story got me.
Same, 80s used to play this all the time!
Graduated in 81 proms always ended with the Romantics what I like about you I would of preferred stairway to heaven.
