It's like watching Dhani Harrison at the George tribute concerts. You feel there's a sense of passing the torch on. Not the same drummer, nowhere near, but he did a phenomenal job and it was really heartwarming to see him there.
This song was written when Plant & Page drove through the Sahara Desert on their way to a music festival. Their experience meeting the people along the way, the people were living in like another time. They couldn’t understand each other’s language, but the music brought them together. It really has nothing to do with Kashmir, I think the name just fit better. Plant fell in love with Morocco, & still visits there often. Their trip through the desert seemed endless, & it all looked the same, & fascinating. This is the song all four band members were most proud of, the timing & layers make it a masterpiece. Page & Plant toured together in the 90’s using musicians from those regions. This is one reason they are the greatest band ever. 20 million ticket requests for the 20,000 seats at this concert. Delve even deeper in to Led Zeppelin, your mind will be blown away. Thank you for your reaction.
@@jss27560 I’m guessing they picked the name Kashmir, maybe sounded more lyrical. They were crossing part of the Sahara on their way to Morocco, I guess Morocco wouldn’t roll off the tongue as easy.
Note for John Paul Jones (the person they always leave out when talking of the band) he not only plays bass, he is on dual keyboards on this piece AND he is their arranger as well so a lot of the composed sound comes from his keeping the beat moving as well as adding the extra notes to fill in the song.
They broke up in 1980 when the drummer, John Bonham, died. The drummer in this performance is Jason Bonham, John's son. His father would be proud. He's doing one helluva job here. They are in their 60's in this video. And sound/perform great. Love this video. Thank you. My favorite too.
They are the GOAT!! My favourite band. The drummer in this clip is original drummer John Bonham's son Jason, so it was epic. Jason hoped that this would lead to a world tour but alas the members didn't want to.

Hey BP, remember when you were talking about time signatures, especially in the Chad Smith Drumeo when he figured out The Kill was in 3 time? Kashmir is a great song with multiple time signatures. The drums are in 4/4. 4 beats to a bar, 4 bars to a line. The guitars are in 3/4. One less note per bar. The drums and guitar only line up every 12th - which is what gives this song its amazing groove.
If you want something completely different check out “All of my Love “ . It’s a tribute to Robert Plants son Karac who died from complications from a stomach virus at 5 years old. It is beautiful ❤
This is my all-time favorite Led Zeppelin song out of all their songs, including stairway to Heaven, To me Stairway is number two. I just love Kashmir!!!!
@@tomhiggins875, I still for the life of me don't know why so many people dislike Stairway to Heaven. Most people I know say they dislike it because it is overplayed. It is overplayed because of how great it is. You don't have to put it down because you dislike it.
John Paul Jones is also playing base pedals as well as the the melody, riff and the background eastern fill . Just an incredible performance , this is what you get when people learn their craft before they get in the studio .
Your first impression is spot on brother! Slight correction though my new Zeppelin fan, the last verse is a particular favorite of mine,.. “Oh Father of the Four Winds fill my sails across The Sea of Years, With no provision but an open face, along The Straits of Fear” Words to live by. Live as if you have nothing to fear because you’re guided by a higher power. Peace and love to all
The song is about a trip Plant and Page took to the Middle East and they were driving for miles on a road with a sandy and desolate landscape but, it was so awe inspiring to them they wrote the song. They were not in Kashmir but, liked the sound of the name for the song. Led Zeppelin does a lot of diverse music so if you are not crazy about one you go and listen to another. It is hard to pin down. your taste to some degree so I don't think I can recommend. You just have to try the songs and see. There are a lot of videos of the Celebration Day - 2007 - concert. Zeppelin members were around 60 in this concert and yet can still run rings around any other band.
This is one of their biggest songs. Robert still has it because he went solo and still sings today in the UK. This whole concert is great. Thanks for reacting to this ❤❤❤❤
LED ZEPPELIN! KASHMIR! Yes yes yes whooooaaaaaa!!! This is the song that the band would like to be remembered by. I think it is a masterpiece. They have many. Led Zeppelin is so diverse in their music that you can’t pigeonhole them by listening to only a few songs. Kashmir is from their 5th studio album Physical Graffiti. 1975 release date. The reason you know that riff is because Diddy, them Puff Daddy, used it in his song Come With Me, featured in the soundtrack of the movie Godzilla. Jimmy Page consented for the song to be used but, he had to have a lot of artistic control. Jimmy also played lead guitar in the song. Jimmy Page is the founder of Led Zeppelin, and is the keeper of the flame. Nobody, but nobody, can use Led Zeppelin music in any way, shape, or form without Jimmy saying yes. With Led Zeppelin, sometimes the meaning is in your face, like Whole Lotta Love. Most of the time it is to be interpreted by each listener. Their music is emotional, and hits the soul. There is so much to say about Led Zeppelin. Short version: Best Ever Rock Band. Best guitarist, best drummer, best bass/keyboards, best vocalist. I’ve been a fan since 1969 with the release of Led Zeppelin I. I am still listening to their music every day, all these decades later.
One of my fav Led Zep songs, goosebumps every time...Ramble On, When the Levee Breaks, Babe I'm gonna Leave You, Dazed and Confused... there's too many too list!!! Such an influential talented band and sampled to high heaven, you will hear them everywhere! Keep listening, reacting and enjoying 🙏
Black, THANK YOU! I have been wishing for you to witness this Epic performance from the Greatest Rock Band Ever! Zeppelin gives you 100 different sounds…not one song sounds a like!
They hadn't played together for a long time. Came together for this 1 show and showed that they were still the greatest band in the world. Kashmir is there opus.
The song was originally called "Driving to Morocco" and, because the track runs for more than 8 minutes, some radio stations were reluctant to play it, but changed their tune once the music became so successful. The lyrics were written by Plant in 1973 immediately after Led Zeppelin's 1973 US tour. None of the group members had visited Kashmir. Instead, Plant was inspired during a drive through a desolate desert area of southern Morocco. So while the song is called "Kashmir," it's actually about a journey, which at the time was in Morocco, with the final destination of that journey being Kashmir. Peace out.
You are seeing an older Led Zeppelin performing together for the first time in decades! This was a "one off" show and only 20,000 lucky insiders got to attend. When you get a chance, watch the whole performance from the beginning. It's called "A Celebration" for which they released a DVD. However, there the whole show is somewhere on UA-cam.
Fairly new to your channel but from your reaction it sounds like you like a deep groove. Might I suggest then as your next Zeppelin song “When The Levee Breaks”…..one of the deepest drum grooves in rock history.
Man there are so many good Zeppelin songs this is a great one I just don't even know which one my favorite is I have their collection it's worth a lot of money and I played a lot on my DVD player cuz I don't have a CD player anymore😅
The drums are in 4/4 while the guitar is in 3/4. 4/4 is 4 beats per bar, 4 bars to a line. 3/4 is one less beat per bar. That is why this song grooves so much. They only synch up every 12th.
Pretty much spot on about the "spiritual journey" meaning of the song. Loved your stone cold looked face a little over halfway through. Pure look of appreciation. Don't blame ya, glad you found this music. "Kashmir" and "Immigrant Song", like you stated, have that 'sound' that takes them up a notch.
Now THIS is Led Zep! 👍👍The previous songs you reacted to were arguably among Led Zep's most commercial. I recommend listening to their Physical Graffiti or The Song Remains the Same LP's.
Awesome choice... this is my favorite one of theirs..never gets old. Listen to "Ramble On", it's about the Lord of the Rings series.. they were huge fans of the Tolkien book; 2nd fav song. Keep the great job.. Blessed Be and have a good evening 😊❤
This is my ALL TIME favorite song ever... I grew up listening to this music and this song is embedded in my heart. I loved this concert with Jason Bonham and enjoyed watching them perform again. U WOULD LOVE "DAZED AND CONFUSED". Did you know all 9 of Led Zeppelin's Albums hit the Billboard top 10 and 6 of them went to number 1.....it don't get no better than that !!!
Thank you thank you thank you! They are somewhere around late 60's and still killing it! I think I also requested this after watching your other Zep reactions. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Need to get the entire concert on dvd--YES dvd!
Try "Good Times, Bad Times" and definitely "Communication Breakdown" Zep has a lot of bangers, some were inspired by the book "The Hobbit" if memory serves me correctly.
Does my heart good to see the following generations appreciate this band. I just watched a reaction from a male in- had to be early twenties and was rocking out the same way I was. It was so cool that this music has stood the test of time!
I saw Robert and Alison Krauss live after their first album 'Raising Sand'. I was expecting old-man voice for the live setting. Boy was I wrong!!!! It was amazing, and he still had no problem hitting notes. This was circa 2011. I would absolutely see him live again if I could. And Alison is dang good too of course!!!!!
The one movie I can say is Fast Times at Ridgemont High, it's played in the car during Stacy & Ratner's date. What makes the studio version so unique is Jimmy Page played the guitar with a bow, creating a totally different sound from anything out there (the bowing is more like what the keyboard is playing). There is so much zeppelin music. You've mostly been listening to stuff off Led Zeppelin 4 (ZOSO), but this is off their 6th album Physical Grafitti.
There's a tribute band that blows me away how good of a tribute they are to Led Zeppelin. The hook is that it's an all girl band, they go by the name of Zepparella. I love them. They are HOT.
This was probably the bands favorite song. Close your eyes and imagine your crossing the desert on a camels back. Some different sounds you might try are 10 years gone by, Trampled under foot, Battle of evermore.
I am glad you liked it. It's an awesome performance of an awesome song. I recommend since I ve been loving you, studio version and when the levee breaks. Cheers from Berlin 👍🍀😎
I’m guessing you know this as “Come With Me” the P Diddy song from the Godzilla movie/soundtrack. I told you in your first Led Zeppelin reaction that you may not know them but you know their music. They have been sampled like 600 times, mostly in rap/hip-hop. Check out “Rhymin & Stealin” by the Beastie Boys then Zep’s “When the Levee Breaks” as one example. You should also check out “Communication Breakdown” and “Your Time is Gonna Come” #blackpegasusraps #ledzeppelin
Yes to me it was the tune itself ,the music and how it made you feel or made your body want to move. Anyway half the time back in the late 60's ,70's you couldn't make out what the lyrics were. Many albums back then had the lyrics printed on the inner sleeves of the album jacket or had inserts...

Have you heard "When the Levee Breaks" yet? Or "Fool in the Rain"? They're my favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
I was going to mention those, but you did.
...& No Quarter.
Fool in the Rain is one of my favs!! The Rain Song, or The Ocean, maaaaannnnn those are some songs that get me in the feels
You might wish to correct…you said the drums twice when you meant to say guitar. Just thought you might like to know
@@helenespaulding7562 bah, yeah, guitars in 3/4
If you want something completely different check out “All of my Love “ . It’s a tribute to Robert Plants son Karac who died from complications from a stomach virus at 5 years old. It is beautiful ❤
and this is one of the many reasons why Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band of all times.
Jeez, I disagree, NOT rock band, just band ! !.
This is my all-time favorite Led Zeppelin song out of all their songs, including stairway to Heaven, To me Stairway is number two. I just love Kashmir!!!!
To me it is all about Kashmir, and No Quarter
Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Going to California, The Battle of Evermore.
I still for the life of me don't know what people like about Stairway to Heaven. I only like the line "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow".
@@tomhiggins875 I agree 100%. I also like the forest will echo with laughter.
“Oh Father of the Four Winds fill my sails across The Sea of Years,
With no provision but an open face, along The Straits of Fear”
Words to live by.
Live as if you have nothing to fear because you’re guided by a higher power.
Peace and love to all
Thank you, I needed to hear this today.
This rif was used in the closing scene of the 1st Matrix movie.
This my favorite Led Zepplin song ever since I was a kid. My Mom was a country lover and Dad loved all music. So I got to listen to it all 💖
This is one of their biggest songs.
When the Levee Breaks is a Zeppelinized remake of Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe's 1929 blues classic. You might like it. ;)
listen to Achilles Last Stand live in Knebworth. Your face will melt
This song is as good as it gets. Robert Plant just owns the stage. Amazing performance. I get emotional listening to this performance.
Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are my all time favorite bands. This and When the Levee Breaks tie for my favorite Zeppelin songs!
Please react to Led Zeppelin 'Since I've Been Loving You' live Madison Square Garden 1973, very bluesy!
You may have heard this song as a sample included in a song in the movie The Matrix.
Peace out.
His voice sounds like it did in the 70's , Awesome. Nice to see Jason on the drums. John Paul is soooo talented
Buddy, your not trippin… You’ve just witnessed the Greatest Rock and Roll front man in rock history!!
Was used in the 1st Matrix movie at the end!
This was 32 years after this song was released and he can still sing like that greatest band ever
I love this song
You are seeing an older Led Zeppelin performing together for the first time in decades! This was a "one off" show and only 20,000 lucky insiders got to attend. When you get a chance, watch the whole performance from the beginning. It's called "A Celebration" for which they released a DVD. However, there the whole show is somewhere on UA-cam.
Fairly new to your channel but from your reaction it sounds like you like a deep groove. Might I suggest then as your next Zeppelin song “When The Levee Breaks”…..one of the deepest drum grooves in rock history.
Battle of Evermore is an amazing song by Zeppelin. One of my favourites.
Immigrant Song is pedestrian compared to Kashmir.
@@kbrewski1 I personally agree with BP. In the scheme of all their sounds, I'll take "Immigrant Song" with "Kashmir" sound.
I had the pleasure of seeing Robert Plant and Jimmy Page when I was younger on tour in Denver. They are amazing!
Thank you for being "spontaneous " in your reactions. I think they're great. Congratulations on your new family member. And don't stop being "you."
Now THIS is Led Zep! 👍👍The previous songs you reacted to were arguably among Led Zep's most commercial. I recommend listening to their Physical Graffiti or The Song Remains the Same LP's.
I heartily concur.
Awesome choice...
this is my favorite one of theirs..never gets old. Listen to "Ramble On", it's about the Lord of the Rings series.. they were huge fans of the Tolkien book; 2nd fav song.
Keep the great job..
Blessed Be and have a good evening
😊❤
Can imagine showing this to your kid and telling them that this is their grandpa. Led Zeppelin is so epic! They will live on forever.
That's an amazing song
This is my ALL TIME favorite song ever... I grew up listening to this music and this song is embedded in my heart. I loved this concert with Jason Bonham and enjoyed watching them perform again. I love this band so much and would have loved to see them in concert. Another favorite song ever is The Song Remains the Same/Rain Song as well as Since I've Been Loving You and also Thank You song and of course Stairway to Heaven!!! Thanks BP!!
I really enjoy your channel and I like that you wait to listen until the video. Just keep doing what you are doing. I am loving your journey into the music and am along for the experience!
In The Evening & All of My Love (ballad) from Led Zeppelin's "In Through The Out Door" album are killer songs.
YESSS!!! Thank YOU!!! I LuvLuvLuv "InThe Evening" & not many reactors seem to react to it i do HOPE BP will check both of these out sometime! RockON!!!
28 million people applied for tickets to this gig
Now please, please if you haven’t already, do Heart singing Stairway to Heaven live at the Kennedy centre in tribute to Led Zeppelin who are there to be honoured. You won’t be disappointed!!! 🇨🇦🖖🏻
The guy playing the drums is the original drummer John Bonhams son Jason after the drummer died Led Zeppelin broke up because they said nobody else was good enough to play drums for them again
U WOULD LOVE "DAZED AND CONFUSED". Did you know all 9 of Led Zeppelin's Albums hit the Billboard top 10 and 6 of them went to number 1.....it don't get no better than that !!!
No one has ever been able to duplicate Jon Bonhams playing on this one..... "Moby Dick" ua-cam.com/video/IOb8otk7Y0U/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
He should watch it live though to see Jimmy Pages magic with the bow.
Thank you thank you thank you! They are somewhere around late 60's and still killing it! I think I also requested this after watching your other Zep reactions. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Need to get the entire concert on dvd--YES dvd!
My favorite Led Zep is “Since I’ve Been Loving You”
Check the studio version first.
I am 60 and this song still gives me chills. They are amazing. John Bonham's son is just as great as his dad! Love your reaction!
For an Island Regee feel Led Zeppelin check out - D'yer Maker!!
Allison Krauss...another good one.
Dude, Zeppelin rules... they from the 70's but gotta say the most influential band in history!!
Hey actually started in the late sixties
Average age of the original dudes in this video is 61 years of age !
And?
I am glad you liked it. It's an awesome performance of an awesome song.
I recommend since I ve been loving you, studio version and when the levee breaks.
Cheers from Berlin 👍🍀😎
As he got older his voice never changed even at live shows
Until the past decade or so. Love his solo stuff
Had the opportunity to attend this concert. Absolutely perfection ✌️
This performance was December 2007.
I’m glad I grew up with all these incredible bands. Also, I’m glad younger people are checking them out and liking the music.
Check out Robert Plant solo after Zeppelin - Tall Cool One - 29 Palms - Big Log - Heaven Knows - Ship of Fools - Sea of Love
In the 70's we had no clue what the words were. Nor did we NEED to know the words. We just listened and enjoyed!!! Love your reactions!
Yes to me it was the tune itself ,the music and how it made you feel or made your body want to move. Anyway half the time back in the late 60's ,70's you couldn't make out what the lyrics were. Many albums back then had the lyrics printed on the inner sleeves of the album jacket or had inserts...
You haven't heard one of their best... Houses of the Holy! Enjoy! It's great fun watching you discovering these gold mines of music.
