My dad ate bacon and eggs, especially eggs, every single day, sometimes he'd eat a half dozen eggs in a morning, he'd eat one, then say "Just one more" and eat another. He was one of the strongest men I've ever known. When he was 85 he was having anxiety because my mother had died and they were together for nearly 70 years. I took him to the doctor and the doctor checked him out then stepped back and looked at him and said, move over and give me the bed, you're healthier than I am. He had the blood pressure and heart rate of my 18 year old grandson who was an elite athlete. My father rarely ate vegetables, I don't recall ever seeing him eat fruit. He loved meat and that's mostly what he ate and it was always cooked always with bacon fat or butter. Slathered butter on everything, sometimes just eating a knifeful of butter because he loved the taste. He lived to 89 years old and there was nothing wrong with him, his health was great, but he missed my mother so much that he just stopped wanting to live.

That bacon and egg lie is just one of many lies that some members of my family fell prey to many years ago, and they are feeling the betrayal, too. Basically, what a type 1 diabetic should eat is how we should all eat. That means zero sugars.

Nah, I quit trying to convince people. All I get is ridicule when I try to explain that meat and fats are good for you. The stuff that most people believe just makes me angry. I was at the farmers market the other day and some dude asked me why I was buying so much veal pate. I said because it was made of 90% veal liver and that liver is possibly the most nutrient dense food out there. He laughed and said when you heat up liver you lose all possible nutrients and that chikpeas was the real superfood. I got so mad I almost asked him to lift his shirt up to show us the flat stomach he got from eating chickpeas. Oh wait, he couldn't because he had a belly so big that his shirt buttons were screaming from pain.

Lmao yeah I have the same problem. My mom is convinced that animal fat is bad for you and she eats turkey bacon and whatnot. Like, she literally got mad at me for feeding my brothers the fat from a steak that I made (they wanted to try it and they liked it) and said that if I don't listen to her, I'll get heart disease or something. One of my friends thinks that veggies are essential. I am still fat from diet ngl but only because I had to eat out so much bc I kept running out of carnivore foods. I just need to get the inexpensive ones and keep it going. I'll lose weight then and eat more steaks when I can afford it, not when I think I can lol. Anyways, ya'lls stories are inspiring. Most of my other friends are supportive so that's nice. I have a lot of ground ruminant animal meats in my fridge. Unfortunately I don't have enough to last me until next time I shop so I'll have to eat out for a minute. It'll be worth it once I get my carnivore foods: eggs, bacon, sausage, maybe salami and pepperoni, cheese, yogurt, beef, chicken thighs (bone in and w/ skin ofc) and maybe some berries. Thing is both of those people speaking bad on my beliefs lost weight eating what they eat. I haven't lost any yet, once again bc I kept running out of food before I could lose anything. The longest I lasted was 2 two weeks. I eat a lot more than I think I do. I forget that when I shop. It's a struggle but hopefully they'll see my progress and will get off my case and maybe even believe me and try it themselves. Doubtful, but worth hoping. Good day

That can was always at least half full and my mom used bacon grease to cook pretty much everything. Who needs buttered popcorn when you pop it in bacon grease? It's so tasty! That is how I learned to cook. Anyway my mother lived until she was 94 and still had all her faculties, sharp as a tack and still working part time right up until a month before she passed. Still had all her own teeth and up until that final month had not been a patient in the hospital since 60 years prior when I was born. I used to listen to all the advice about food until they started trying to tell us that eggs were bad for you. Way more sugar than anyone would need. I use 1/4 cup once a month with yeast to fed the septic system. Also pull it out for company for their coffee.

People have been eating meats with fat for thousands of years and only recently did we have a problem with heart disease. Much of that is probably due to vegetable oils and deep frying.

Thank you for this video. When I went to college, my biology professor was vegan (imagine that) - he reminded us CONSTANTLY. He repeatedly told us about the nightmares of nitrates, nitrosamines and other toxins laden in bacon. I'm glad to be away from the center of misinformation.

It’s a shame you weren’t armed with the information we know now about a vegan lifestyle…lack of adequate bio-available forms of B vitamins, lack of complete amino acids etc
The over-processed nature of factory produced vegan foods.

Dr. Berry, I simply love your videos! I'm 79 years old and just started the carnivore diet 4 weeks ago. In 4 weeks I have lost 24 lbs, and quite frankly feel better than I have for years! I have Bacon almost every day and pasture raised eggs and have gotten back to resistance training on my cable weight bench after years of it collecting dust. I walk my dog for 1 1/2 to 2 hours every day and it's absolutely wonderful. Thank you and all the other informative paleo and carnivore folks out there for spreading this vital information. Big food and big pharma supported by our corrupt FDA and CDC have been poisoning Americans for too long.

I don’t measure my bacon consumption by the slice… It’s by the package. Depending the packaging it’s either 12 ounces or a pound. And that along with 4 to 6 eggs is a full meal that can last all day.

Thank you so much for this video. I wish I had cooked bacon for my kids breakfasts when they were growing up, but I honestly thought I was doing the right thing by giving them a bowl of weetabix with semi skimmed milk at the time. The so called public health campaigns against bacon sure did work, and I am glad that the tide is changing, backed by better up to date scientific knowledge.

My husband was from Derbyshire. He loved bacon more than life itself. Weetabix was waaaay behind bacon but he loved that too. He died almost 4 years ago on the eve of our 25th anniversary. I can't imagine being that happy again. I'll always grieve for him.

Fun fact: among the different Mediterranean cuisines, Sardinia stands out for eating mainly pork, as opposed to the lots of fish commonly consumed across the Mediterranean Sea. And guess what: it also stands out regarding the longevity of its inhabitants. It's probably purely coincidental..

I feel you missed the point for those who are carnivore or keto we worry about the fact that bacon is Not simply cured in salt, it’s cured in sugar and salt. When you eat bacon you can taste the sweetness from the sugar which would suggest that the sugar has absorbed into the meat itself. The question is how much sugar/ carbs does bacon actually contain. That is my question.
