Debating on making bacon right now... 10 min after midnight and I'm 172 hours into a fast ... But I have to find the perfect food... I've never made it past 5 days so now, being past 7.... I'm struggling to find what in the world I want to break this fast with... Any ideas? Thinking about cabbage and bacon... Since it's still keto... But also have a couple huge chucks on the ready, lamb, ribeye, and a ton of grass fed burgers... Don't know if I want to stay zero carb or have a handful like that cabbage ... Lost about 16 pounds in these 7 days ... I want to keep fasting but I am getting pretty hungry and fairly weak ... Ahhhhhh... Still to undecided too eat.... Great video

@@DaBurghSteelers I've done hundreds but never past 5 days. And the 5 day fasts I ate several pounds of red meat with no issues. This was just more me watching tons of food videos 1. Because I'm hungry and 2. Because I'm an obsessive over planner but usually that means junk food binges. So I'm trying to at least eat real food and not binge. I definitely struggle with it. I'm dry brining a large chuck now. So I'll probably eat that but I still don't know what I'll eat it with... As long as it's not junk food I'll be happy 😂😂

I used to eat a pound of ribeye steak every day at lunch but noticed that I was getting hungry at night and needed something to hold me over. I also noticed how expensive eating steak was. At Sam's Club in my area, it was almost $15 a pound. Frying up bacon in a pan was a pain, so I refrained from doing it. Then, I discovered your method, and that has changed EVERYTHING for me. I buy 4 pounds of bacon at Sam's for $24 dollars and eat one pound per day, usually all in one sitting. The amazing thing is, I now have absolutely NO cravings for any additional food at night, making my 23-hour fasting sustainable and enjoyable. Whenever I would need to eat at night I would feel guilty for not having the discipline to fight the hunger cravings, but now...yep...no guilt. I recognize that it has nothing to do with discipline. Rather, it has everything to do with giving my body the necessary ingredients to keep it satisfied. Thank you, Dr. and Mrs. Berry.

Okay, I have seen this video several times and just tried it tonight. My Lord, what took me so long? This is the BEST method I have ever used for cooking bacon. The bacon was fantastic and I have never cooked so much bacon so quickly, and never seen such a small amount of mess/clean up afterwards. I sure wish I had a Dr. Berry near me. My doctor told me again today that my cholesterol was a bit high, so I came home and had bacon and eggs for dinner. She said it was because of my high fat ketogenic way of eating. I told her I was 58 and never felt better in my life. 🙌🤷‍♂️😂

I can't believe how evenly it all crisps up with the stirring, and lid on for entire time! by the end the great bacon oils are deep frying the bacon chips so perfectly! I chill my bacon grease in a flat tin on parchment in the freezer; then break it into wafers that I stack in a tupperware I keep in the freezer. It never freezes hard and I grab a wafer or three when I cook anything; to fry in or add seasoning to veggies. I always have plents of bacon grease wafers!

Instead of putting that bacon on a towel, I recommend you put it in a strainer/sieve and set that on top of the pot, so the "excess" grease drips back in with the rest. No more wasting grease on paper towels.
      Let me say that again:
NO MORE WASTING VALUABLE BACON GREASE ON PAPER TOWELS.

This is how I’ve made bacon for years, only I start it with a little water in the bottom to first boil/steam render the maximum amount of fat, prevent burning, and improve the crisp texture of the finished product. The water cooks completely out, of course. The rendered bacon fat doesn’t have an over-browned flavor AT ALL. I love it!

Also fixed green beans in the bacon pot after pouring off the grease. The moisture from the green beans deglazed the pot (stainless steel) so no soaking or scrubbing! I made the bacon chips last night in a Lodge cast iron dutch oven - same size as you have there and used a generic flat glass lid (probably from Ikea) and found this process to be much neater than the skillet. It took just about 30 minutes. Also saved the strained bacon grease. Thank you Dr. Berry and Neisha ❤

That is how I have been cooking my bacon for a few years now, only I cut it just a little bit smaller. I leave a few pieces in the pot, along with a little grease and pour some beaten eggs and cream in, then stir up some AWESOME scrambled eggs with bacon chips. I add some cheese on top. Then, I have bacon chips for snacking and salads, plus breakfast for a few days, with only one pot and a spoon to wash. No grease splattered everywhere. Thanks for sharing. I didn't think about cutting them a little bigger and using them for dipping. Great idea!!!!

@@Paul-hl5ls I cook it at 400 for about 15 min but it does depend on the thickness and how you like it. I line two baking sheets with tin foil and a piece of parchment paper(that’s just because I personally don’t like my food cooked on aluminum) I lay out the whole packet on both sheets and Cook them side by side. When done I put the bacon on a paper towel and then when it cools J just keep it in a zip lol lol bag or container in the fridge. I just eat it cold if hungry or heat up what I want. When the fat cools a bit it is easy to pick up the sides and pour it into my grease jar. Bonus no clean up this way and it doesn’t splatter in the oven Good luck. OMGSH, this is GENIUS! I'm totally doing this right now. I have a nice big package of bacon in my fridge that I have been putting off cooking all week. Lol. I've been doing the oven method, but I like this idea much better. I can cook the whole package at one time and with the oven you have to lay out the strips so that they don't touch and it takes a bit of time. Not a bad way, but I'm definitely down for quicker and cleaner. Thank you for sharing. Dr. Berry, you are a genius and not only with the bacon cooking. My husband and I have been carnivore for months now and we've both lost over 40 pounds each. (we have both fallen off the wagon a couple of times, BUT we get right back up). Nice one! Over here in Croatia we mostly make chvarci (čvarci) in a similar way. Deskin the firm pigs fat, cut it in cubes and cook it on medium until they shrink and get golden brown color. After that if one likes extra crispy we put it in a press and squish the fat out. Of course fat is collected and stored to use with everything. It is similar to chicharrons but no skin and no meat, because meat gets to hard to bite in that procedure. Meat goes to sausages. And with skin I make pork rinds or add pigs feet an d head and cook it low and slow. After it cools down it gelatins, and we eat it like cold dish. One can put eggs inside or any vegetable.
