I just ordered mine yesterday for my 2018 SI and it arrived in like 24 hours. This sounds so good! I am sure the recirculation model will work fine with no issues.
How did you take off the fitting? It says to unscrew only 4 bolts to remove the cover. But how can you pull it off with leaving the other 4 inside? I got the cover off removing all 8 screws. Can’t get off the air vent fitting.
It's on there pretty firm. Once u remove the 4 front screws that they show u, use a towel and flat head and wedge it between the cover and back side and pry gently

I barely had the bov for not even a week. And I can see problems already with it. Did you custom mount that inlet to have the hose work? I have the prl inlet I would hate to revert it back to stock and then be able to just recirculate it.

Sounds awesome! But having a bov on my mk7 gti before and knowing a lot of people who had it we all took it out after a while because the sound gets old eventually. But again I drive mine daily, if this was just a weekend toy it is perfect.
So you had the engine light on before the recirc kit? Cuz I have the bov on aswell and the light went off because of it 😂 been over 20k miles w it and runs perfectly fine

This is the same BOV. But instead of letting it vent into atmosphere, you can install a adapter it gets shipped with and attach this to your stock recirculation tube so it doesn't vent into atmosphere.
Do you floor it from time to time? That’s where the real test comes. I’ve floored it from time to time with the torque solution adapter and it sometimes went into limp mode. Going to test without recirculate since I just finished the install.
Hey! My fk8 have a PRL P700 Turbo now, and I have this HKS Blow Off. It used to sounds awesome but with this turbo it doesn't sound great anymore. The blow off it's making a very low sound but not in comparison to the stock turbo. What Turbo do you have?
LOVE this and want it for my Type R, but I have PRL Charge pipes, so I’d have to swap out the hard pipe part for the HKS Unit most likely, then I have to plumb the recirc tube back into my full Eventuri somehow…
Can I Install this on complete stock engine with no tune or any modifications? I am interested in getting a cool air intake and this exact blow off valve, am I able to install it without any computer work or any process that follows after it?
It is the seeker racing spec wheel. It retains the oem controls. I have a video on it on my channel or check the description of the video for link to the product.
Question: isn't that the turbo flutter sound? the sound it makes when the pressured air went back and hitting the turbo? so recirculating the air does not solve the turbo flutter problem?
I think this is more so either the shape of the HKS BOV making the air coming out sound like a turbo flutter or its a valve opening and closing over and over and a very precise pressure to let air out in a pattern that makes this sound. The HKS BOV has some different fins that change the way it sounds also. TLDR this is not turbo flutter but I dont exactly know how the HKS BOVs work.
@@cupid1313prI think this is turbo flutter. There is an adjustment screw inside the valve to adjust tension. He probably has his adjusted to tight, therefore the valve is not opening completely and redirecting air back into the turbo.
I'm thinking that the tube going to the hard pipe near where the BOV connects is already the recirculating line so you could get an adapter to hook the big HKS line to the smaller stock line and not have to fab up a hole in your coupler.
Check out my last like 3-4 reels that's spoon turbo with hks dp/fp/intercooler, Apex'i exhaust, and prl hvi (Race). Sounded pretty good until the hks bov now it's like PRL sound followed by stututuutu
Google Honda hack. I think the website is called autohack. You need the pro version. Install it to your head unit and you can map any button to do anything. So my little "voice command" button on the steering wheel activates my rear view camera
I took the hose from the recirculating kit to home depot plumbing aisle and got a fitting that would accept the hose. I cut a hole on bottom of the prl coupler and stuck that fitting through and JB welded it on.
Do u think black n silver bov have diff sound.. i install it today without recirculating hose.. i dont get the stustu sound.. only ching.. does the stustu happen coz of the reciculating hose?

Yea with the recirculating kit it probably loses like 15-20% of its sound but damn it still sounds soooo good.

Yes I used hks recirculating kit but I had to make modifications to fit the PRL coupler

When you bought your recirculating kit, did it come with the hose from the BOV to the Intake?
It's a separate part number for the recirculation kit that comes with the bov fitting and hose

What’s the difference between this BOV and the Original HKS blow off valve? Do you have any experience with the Turbosmart Kompact BOV for the Type R?

I'm running the HKS super sqv for 2 years now without the recirculating kit and didn't had any issues.

It seems funny. It should sounds more louder then the oem once you have upgraded to turbo.

Only if you're venting to atmosphere. If you run the recirculating kit like me it's good to go.

If you recirculate the air, you shouldn't need a tune.

They're the same sound. Are you running bigger turbo or catless downpipe?
Have had mine on the car for awhile now without that kit no issues it’s all a myth
