One can only hope! Seeing that the NSX was instant off the line, I feel that the true competition would be the CTR/ITS but it really come down to the Nsx driver with EVERYTHING being Analog.
Prediction would be on modern rubber, on a track like Laguna Seca, the NSX would be a no-contest. No clue on exactly how much the S2000 would win by, but it would win. The old Integra would lose, but I'd predict it'd lose to the modern cars by less than the S2000 beats them by... But that's completely a prediction. If they could do this again, and do the track race, I'd like to see them throw in some more forgettable "sport sedans" that Honda/Acura makes. For examples, the 4th Gen TL with AWD and a manual, and the TLX Type S. To my surprise, the TLX has more power, but its 0-60 and 1/4 times are slower than the TL, which are on par with the new Type R.
I've never been a Honda guy.. but I've always always had a special place in my heart for the NSX. It really was Japan's first "Super Car" and boy, it still lives up to it's name 30 years later!! Who knew a couple of the best Super Cars out there would be V6's!! (XJ220 & NSX)

I started with a 86 crx si, 91 crx si, 01 Integra type R, 06 s2000 and never owned the nsx. Still have the magazines that featureed the new nsx. Every time I thought I could afford the nsx values went up another 15 thousand. I settled with a 23 c8 Corvette. Fun cars all. Now I'm thinking about a gr86 as a replacement for displacement. Guess I'll spend the rest of my motoring days searching for the feeling of driving some of the best cars ever brought to market.
The NSX is still a legend, imagine what the outcome would be had they used a later 3.2 NA2 or the JDM type R/S instead of the base 3.0 NA1 since the other Hondas here are top spec versions of it's base cars.
As an ex Honda owner, This video has left me in smiles. I have had 1998 Accord , 2006 civic, 2011 civic, 2006 Pilot. I have always loved Honda's. Then I bought a 2013 G37, there is nothing like a Japanese rwd NA V6 sedan. Maybe one day, I will get a Type R as a second car. In 2002 , I had ridden in a 1991 Acura legend 2dr that my friend had and what an awesome car that was.
The new cars look like suvs sitting next to the older ones in regards to size. And yet manage to stay lightweight, especially compared to other modern cars. Great video!
@@ARCNA442considering most cars nowadays are 3,500-4,000lbs. Yeah they’re lightweight compared to 95% of other modern vehicles. But let’s not forget how much bigger the civic is than the Corolla considering the Corolla is essentially a sub-compact. If you look at the golf R and WRX which are roughly the same size as the civic and see that their AWD systems cause them to be 200-350lbs more than the CTR and Elantra N then it starts to make sense.
My Integra Type R, while not blisteringly fast by modern standards, is such a stupendously fun car to drive and that B18 sings like nothing else out there. It's a spectacular car. (Also, no shade to the driver in this video, but Best Motoring took the JDM ITR - a little lighter and very slightly more powerful than the USDM model - through the 1/4 mile in the mid-high 14s)

Guys, the NSX is literally a supercar designed from the ground up. Its main advantages is Mid-Engine, RWD, Aluminum Chasis and Body, and V6. Thats a hard combination to beat in any era. All the other cars are re-packaged economy cars, except for the s2000.
I am a V8 man, 40 years of V8's and I am still hooked. But I did go turbo back in the early 2000's with a 93 Mr2 turbo, with a built engine and a huge turbo it is the fastest car I have owned. I beat everything around town, used to eat WRX's GTR's, looked great in yellow on 19's. It did 250KLW with 8psi at the wheels on the dyno when the engine was being run in, on the street I boosted it to 20psi, mid mount and low weight made it crazy fast. I have owned some fast powerful V8's but the Mr2 would eat all of them, even the 64 Chevelle I owned with a monster 454 500 plus hp engine, I am a Ford man and had many 351 powered cars, non would stand a change at the time against that turbo 2ltr, sadly due to the GFC of 08 I lost all my toys but glad I drive a mint 4.6 raised 03 Explorer, sounds better than any car I have owned after deleting the muffler, but gutless to say the least, if I had the cash again I would built another MR2, but at my nearly big 6 0 I should know better, but yeah I am addicted to speed, got hooked on it at a tender age of 18 all them years ago, and have never been able to kick the habit, single turbo on the 4.6 is on the cards, but I should really know better LOL
People underestimate how quick the NSX actually was back then. On a prepped surface it's even faster. They run low 13s high 12s stock. Depending on launch for both the older and newer ones. Fairly low weight, mid engine, high revs and good power delivery will do that. Amazing machines for the times.
Brilliant as ever, As an owner of a Honda Civic Type R GT in UK I wish this video had gone on for about 2 hours, and someone not Larry Jen turned up in a modified old Civic just to see what happened. You've got to give it to Honda engineers still making cars for enthusiasts 👏👏👏
same here, owned my 94 for 22 years now, have put 300k miles on it (385K currently on the car and original drivetrain), and still love to crack VTEC on the on-ramps multiples times a week.
I have both and they are both awesome but 2 completely different driving experiences. The s2000 is "easier" to drive if that makes sense. It just feels like it does things a little sharper with less effort the vtec power band is way more noticeable in it over the nsx which is fun. The nsx def has more power but the power delivery in more linear, it is hard to even hear the vtec crossover unless you have an intake. It is more fun to me personally, but i think it's mainly because i like the looks and sound of it a lot more, plus it just has that feeling like you're sitting in something very special the whole time you're driving, not to mention it is a huge conversation piece everywhere you go. Car enthusiasts eyes light up when they see an nsx. The downside is that I get more worried driving the nsx because i don't want anything to happen to it whereas the s2000 is a little less stressful to take out. You can't go wrong with either car but the nsx just makes a statement that is hard to beat.
@@davidryder5082 The C8 is an amazing car. I can't think of a car that offers more bang for the buck. The original owner of my NSX paid 20K over list, 83K in '91. Insane that you can get a new Corvette for that now.

You can tell how much cars had gotten bigger when the NSX pulled up in between the two new cars and you can also tell towards the end when they were all lined up together. Crazy.
And nsx used to be a bigger car.
I've seen dozens of hagerty's videos but everytime i'm shocked by the level of quality cammisa and the staff can reach... Bravissimi ❤
The production, number of cameras, aerial shots, real&simulated slow-mo, post production vfx, the script, the delivery of the script, everything is wonderful! Thanks and kudos to everyone involved.
The induction sound from a 90s JDM 4cyl running wide open could make even a short drive to the store the highlight of your day 🤤
I love Jason and Randy. These comparisons and edits are second to none. I love the data driven approach!
You should do lap times with all the same cars ! This was Honda heaven!!
Was just about to comment that. Would definitely like to see that.
Phenomenal video. The way it was structured, explained and the comparisons. 👍👏
What an intro. The production quality is superb. Well done.
Tragic that none of these were taken around a track, that’s where they really shine compared to straight up speed
Big difference to see them go around the track not straight.
@@9kalltheway If we are lucky we might see that in 2 weeks or so
Agree -
One can only hope!
That Yellow integra is an absolute timeless work of art, Would love one with the black wheels.
Same! The all motor doch vtec sound is just magical. I had a 99 si back in the day that was ofc stolen, lol, and even though I have an fl5 now, I still miss that thing. It is no where near as fast as my car now, but I still miss how visceral that thing was, it needed an lsd though, that torque steer was crazy lol, fun times.
The Integra Type-R (DC5) is a faster more capable car.
@@deet4895 Thank you mr obvious
@@deet4895 Wait.. so you're telling me the more modern, more powerful replacement for the DC2 is faster? You are onto something here.. keep researching.

Love the editing from this channel so neat & creative!
The crazy edits where Jason walks through/by/touches the moving cars in slow motion still blows my mind every time I watch one of these.
I’ve given more than $1,000 to Hagerty for HPDE insurance this year, I’ve chosen hagerty only because I want to support these videos.

@@NickRanger absolutely 😂
S2000 still the most fun to drive. Mid front engine layout, rear wheel drive and short gears. I love every Honda there through r especially the golden years. Awesome video
I’ll say that my supercharged S2000 was without a doubt, the most fun car I’ve ever taken canyon carving. I miss it all the time.
That being said, I’d much rather stick to the NSX for day to day driving and what not. More spacious, refined, comfortable and better suited for longer trips.
It’s always a good day when a new Cammisa video drops! Love the banter between Randy and Jason!
The filming and editing is on point!! 🎥🎬👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Greatly appreciate the effort and editing in these videos!
The glorious sound of Honda high revving engines.
The production quality on these videos is unrivalled, I cannot imagine how much time and editing each one takes. Truly next level.
Throttle house and savage are still better

Integra Type-R, S2000 & NS-X -> The absolute summit of automotive engineering!
Don’t forget RX-7.
@@jamesgarvey8402 Agreed. Miatas aren't too bad either.
And ive been lucky to own all 3 in that order. All of them are amazing, the nsx is a keeper for life.
summit for honda
At 3200 lbs, the new Civics are not "lightweight" - that's actually the same weight as the AWD GR Corolla.
(Also, no shade to the driver in this video, but Best Motoring took the JDM ITR - a little lighter and very slightly more powerful than the USDM model - through the 1/4 mile in the mid-high 14s)
yep - ive got a 14.5 out of mine, only performance mods is an intake... they dont know how to launch
Exactly my friend. I've owned an S2K and now an EG B18C. I will never drop these iconic engines for turbos. Way too much fun screaming 9K!
Seeing the three cross the line at the same time made me so much happier than i though it would.
If there were awards for best production quality, content & presentation from a UA-cam channel, this channel would win em all.
Bro, your editing, post-production video, is the best I've seen for any UA-cam Car Channel. Congrats to the team! Very dynamic, enthusiastic, informative, fun video.
This editing is just freaking incredible...always a blast watching these videos from y'all
The production on these videos are astonishing; 👏🏽 for the men and women behind scenes helping make this happen !
As an NSX owner, I was absolutely expecting the NSX to get beat pretty easily but the newer cars. Impressive.
That being said, I will say that adding boost to my NSX really woke it up and it’s an absolute riot to drive now.
Great content, but the editing on this video is crazy! Keep up the good work!
I want a 2002-2005 NSX…@ one point I almost bought one, back in 2010 when they were actually not outrageously priced, was a stretch for me then @ $70k, but now? I dunno if I’ll ever get one as they’ll only continue to appreciate & are truly one of the best cars ever made
Only Jason can make a pointless drag race relevant….!!!!🎉❤❤❤
I can listen to the sound of vtec engine all day long like music….
The noise of that NSX is orgasmic.
The B18C5 isn't bad either.
Best sounding V6 for me
The 2 new Civics look like bouncers protecting their VIP. 🙂
It's taken over 30yrs and still the original NSX takes the win. Lets be honest, wouldn't you rather have the NSX over the mundane Civics?? 🙂
Great little tribute vid as usual guys!
Well first a civic keeps up with a super car now the new nsx would walk the old one and you're comparing completely different Cara dude a Integra type s/ civic type r is the ultimate daily weekend track warrior have fun daily driving a nsx lol
Nothing beats a gen 1 NSX. it's the perfect super car.
A small bump in power is all i could ever ask for
Those mundane Civics will walk away from that NSX on a backroad or track. Drag racing them is pointless, outside of entertainment.
Mundane Civic, possibly the best hot hatch of the modern era
NSX still the king for honda
I didn't expect this kind of "slow mo edit" at 4:13 and I gotta say that was some creative stuff. Kudos to the guy that thought this was a good idea and executed it. You guys could have literally had talking heads but you put in the extra work to make this video way more interesting. Subscribed
Glad to see the 30 yo NSX still has it
My Walkman from the 90s still has it
Would be interesting to see the CTR and ITS go up against a 3.2 liter NSX. Those were quite a bit faster than the 3-liter, I think they did high 12's in the quarter.
Yes ideed ive seen 12.6-12.9. Little more hp, torque, 6 speed and shorter gearing.
NSX R was the fastest. Significantly faster than the base model for both the NA1 and NA2
@@tibi1441I don't get why people call them slow. 12.6 is W211 E55 AMG territory.
@@TheBb6prelude yeah, that's the one that would do a 12.6-12.7. BTW I also used to own a BB6 Prelude.
@@SwapBlogRU I believe its because of the long gearing and the lack of knock you back torque. But they didnt know better, hondas never relied on torque
That cut scene where he jumped into the finish line was amazing

I love my 2004 EP3 Type R. Shame it was never released to the US market.

Also we shouldn't forget that all the NSX rivals when it came out are probably already dead or have incredible maintanence costs just to have a calm ride every now and then.

Out of all the cars. The s2000 feels the most raw and sense of speed because it's a convertible.

Guys, the NSX is literally a supercar designed from the ground up. Its main advantages is Mid-Engine, RWD, Aluminum Chasis and Body, and V6. Thats a hard combination to beat in any era. All the other cars are re-packaged economy cars, except for the s2000.
How in the ever living heck do you guys get all these angles and crazy blending and transitions?! Prod quality is absolutely insane on this channel 🙌
Better than movie
Honestly. Better than any post clarkson era top gear content. Killing it hagerty. Love it
There is no post Clarkson, May, Hammond Top Gear
Hehe
I actually like the Integra a lot more than the Type R. It's more handsome to me but still as rapid
I agree
As an mr2 owner, I loved reading this😁😁
People underestimate how quick the NSX actually was back then.
Heck yeah, love this video!! My 1994 Integra GSR is such a joy to drive!
same here, owned my 94 for 22 years now, have put 300k miles on it (385K currently on the car and original drivetrain), and still love to crack VTEC on the on-ramps multiples times a week.
NSX was just a masterpiece and still is
As always, phenomenal production value!
Hats off to the video editors, so clean and video game type of vibe. This is probably the coolest video on UA-cam.
Your editors need a pay raise!!!! BG score, foleys, risers, VFX, tracking all on point!!!
I own an S2K and love it to death. However, and NSX would be so sweet to own, too bad the costs are crazy now.
@@user-ek5nl1jc4b I have a '91 NSX. Let's say I'm a lot more aware of the people around me when I drive it.
