Thanks Misha! Absolutely loved this lap! Hope the beeping didn't ruin to much of the video! It's set to beep at 110°c on the coolant. I let misha push on as I deemed it okay! Few more cooling mods lined up to really help it stay cool when pushing really hard!
How do you run 2 oil coolers ?Adaptor plate with a split to the 2 oil coolers?

@@hondanickxdrivers side washer bottle modified smaller. Then a single sandwich plate with the coolers ran in series in one big loop with pressure and temp sensors fitted to sandwich plate

Very conservative warning. Everything below 120 is a complete non-issue on modern oils. Even 130 isn't critical yet imo.

Most people don’t like the OTT external appearance of the FK8, but I embrace the crazy. It’s like they let every engineering and design nerd off the leash at Honda HQ for a day.

To be fair don't think they intended to - Misha kind of closed down the space behind the Corsa and then the Corsa slowed down quite a bit. Corsa should have moved over to the right earlier and let the Subaru go really.

Corsa clearly started indicating and moving over to the right to let both pass, clearly lifted based on how the subbie blew by him, but decided otherwise when he saw the subbie gunning for the right overtake.
At that point if the subaru just lifted or braked slightly and let Misha passed everything would've been fine. Regardless it is blatantly obvious the subaru was going for that overtake from the get go. Probably frustrated he was going to get passed by a Honda, blaming the Corsa for holding him up.
If he braked HARD, everything would've been fine.
It is ILLEGAL to pass on the right. There was 0 safety excuse.

Misha came out the corner faster than both and closed the space down the Subaru might have used on the left before they got to use it, the Corsa indicated once and lifted, didn't leave the Subaru many options, they could have braked hard but with Misha angling in like that going faster than both I can't blame the driver being leery of slowing down.
Corsa really should have moved over before the corner and let both go.
I don't see the Subaru clearly going for the pass on the right until after Misha has put the pressure on.

The subbie had MANY 100% safe options other than overtaking on the right. Another drivers faults (Corsa) are NO excuse unless your safety is in jeopardy.
I don't see the point in arguing further if you can't acknowledge that basic fact.
This is coming from someone who literally overtook someone on the right on the highway a couple of hours ago because they were driving below the speed limit on a 4 lane highway. It was still illegal. Subbie is a million percent at fault here.

This is about the quickest Ive seen Misha go through the corners. At most points beating his own gt3 rs corner speeds. Something clicks with misha and type R

Top speed before Schwedenkreuz was 163mph (262kph), in Foxhole 154mph (247kph). Holy smokes! o.O
I was wondering if perhaps the tires were a shorter diameter than stock causing the speedo to be a bit off. Still fast enough to push that M2 out of the way!
@@Grimace427 stock setup over-reads by about 5-6%. Assuming he's running 265/35R18 instead of 245/30R20 that's another 2%. So perhaps 150mph (241kmh) and 142mph (229kmh) respectively. Still quick.
@@tmmtmm i have the same wheel setup 265/35/18 and my speedo only reads typically 2-4mph over depending on how fast i am going. I have went 164mph and my police radar and hondata app read 161mph so it wouldnt be too far off.
If your temps are still getting a bit high try to change to stock thermostat. It is set from the factory quite high so that the engine runs warm due to emission standards, I believe the stock one opens fully at 90C. Otherwise great lap and car looks it is performing extremely well with very minor mods!
Hiya mate car has low temp thermostats for the cooling system and oil! Coolant opens around the 76 mark and thermostat on oil is 80c. I've got a few ideas to help sort the overheating

FK8 is faster but the DC5 seemed more fun :)
DC5 is the last cable throttle high revving Honda.
If you like Throttle response, those cars are a blast to drive.
New cars have gotten better, but nothing beats an NA K20 with a cable throttle body. Rev matching downshifts is so crisp, and the engine is soooo fun to rev out.

That was right around when Misha encountered that whole bunch of idiots. It's hard to understand these drivers who see a car behind them that they haven't seen all race and can't put 2+2 together and get the hell out of the way of the obviously faster vehicle! It doesn't really bother me.

Really surprised by how fast this thing corners and how much grip the front end has...
Think about a thicker rad and have the intercooler at the side of the radiator. Also proper ducting and no gaps between the AC and cooling radiators. It will fix the cooling issues.

What mods are you running on yours ? I have a '17 M240i with Bilstein B12 and Ohlins (rear), Eibach springs and a stage 1+. Just seeking for more perf parts that you might have and recommend !

I did a little research. And found out some fastest lap data with regards to car type. This car actually beats a TTRS for lap times. I was a little gutted as I own one. Then a felt a little better when I found out it also beats the RS6.
RS6 is portly though, and TTRS isn't exactly lightweight. Plus you get to hear that amazing 5. And if you have a manual it's just as fun as the CTR.
@mediocreman2 I appreciate that. There is about 100kg (give or take) difference between the TTRS and Civic. Nevertheless, for a front wheel drive car giving away about 90bhp is pretty impressive. But I'll stick to my Audi lol

Unfortunately its their biggest weakness! But I'm so close! There's been good development done recently with aux radiators etc
FK8 Type R are such amazing track cars... Shame on the cooling issues, but once they are solved... Not many "Normal" sports cars and some super cars can keep up in the corners... Look at that M2, couldnt touch it in the corners, just in the straights.
In the best German Magazin Sport Auto the Megane 4RS Trophy was faster in Comparison test in the corners as the Type R.

Yes, a Mégane with no back seats, roll cage, semi slick tyres, no AC, etc... Pretty much a cheat. Still just 2 seconds... Anyway, the Limited edition fk8 is Faster and still has back seats.
@@Laranjas-qf4pp No, that was only the normal Trophy with 5 seats and subwoofer ;-) the Trophy R (which you talk) was 1:59,2 in Hockenheim GP.
The Type R FL5 did a 02:01,4min.

These hondas take curves so graciously. Obviously Misha has a lot to do with it but I love how they handle.

The gearbox looked a handful? Shame as the oem shift feel is so nice. Really nice cooling mods though. Really held its own out there. 👌
I think it’s just the combo of RHD + close gear ratios requiring a lot of shifting throughout the lap. I’ve noticed Misha tends to struggle a bit more shifting RHD cars.
@@Ben-bg2eg it is most assuredly more difficult to drive a RHD car and shift with your left hand when you learned how to drive on LHD and shift with the right. I am 62yo and sold the last AT vehicle I owned in 1983 and I'm very focused on my shifting when driving an RHD vehicle. I have almost ejected myself on a couple occasions by trying to shift the door lever by accident....lol when not paying close enough attention to the task at hand.
Aftermarket shifters rarely improve on the feel and action of oem Honda
Better to leave it stock imo
