when I was an exchange student I ate everything someone offered me, even if I didn't like it. It was one of the things they told us was really important to respect. That's what you do when you plunk yourself into another family's household: you say thank you and you try new things. I have an aunt who was a successful doctor at a young age with her own practice out of a building she designed and had constructed from scratch. She has exactly the same mannerisms as this woman. Yup, worked for a veterinarian who was in the same situation; she and her husband built the practice from the dirt and unfortunately her husband divorced her and bc of the split they both gained it 50/50 and long story short she sold the practice to a corporate and she became so unbearable that she was chasing her own employees and clients away. She was so negligent towards her patients and had a embarrassing amount of lack of respect for anyone. No one could stand her. I feel sad bc that job was so traumatic that it really deterred me from staying in the field.

My first time in the DR, as a Dominican woman, was last year with my husband for our one year wedding anniversary. We went to a resort in Punta Cana, and one thing about driving to our resort that I loved was that we had to go through the “poor” communities. I saw more beauty in those communities tbh…true community!! The true Dominican Republic where there isn’t much opportunity BUT the people make it happen and are grateful for everything they have, which isn’t much compared to us spoiled Americans. She’s honestly so rude for her comments.
When I go to another country, I stay away from the resorts. I want to be with the people that live there and see what it is like. I have been saddened by the food insecurity in some other countries, and shared what I could, and I did not walk away thinking the country was all beaches and resorts.

Im trying to get into medical school rn, and just the amount of money you have to spend on prep for the entrance exam is wild. Let alone the 200,000+ dollars for school itself. Add on Law school? Additional masters? Yes its impressive that she had the work ethic and intelligence to make it through all that, but its important to keep in mind that people dont do all of that on their own, without a comfortable financial family life.

Yeah I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt too bc I know the pool of POC men that are fine with her financial status/success that are also in her same tax bracket is probably very small and it's probably hard to find the one but watching this episode I can see it's a lack of self observance. She doesn't know what she wants and assumed she wanted a support partner, or didn't care, when obviously she wants someone as driven as herself. Unfortunately, that probably doesn't fit in with her vision of Prince Charming that lives and breathes for her every waking moment. Power couples can work, but as you said, not with that attitude. Someone who's her equal wouldn't tolerate being talked to the way she does.

when I was an exchange student I ate everything someone offered me, even if I didn't like it. It was one of the things they told us was really important to respect. That's what you do when you plunk yourself into another family's household: you say thank you and you try new things. I get it, she's vegan, but she didn't have to say degrading things about the food they made for her or the house they live in. Beyond inconsiderate and completely selfish.

I have an aunt who was a successful doctor at a young age with her own practice out of a building she designed and had constructed from scratch. She has exactly the same mannerisms as this woman. She scared away everyone who was ever romantically interested in her. It’s just weird now seeing that her personality is a “type” . I hope she gets help before she lives her whole life hurting people who care about her.

A ton of people go into the field for money and while I understand that to an extent, you have to do it because you enjoy doing it and not for the sole purpose of waving the title and money around.
Yup, worked for a veterinarian who was in the same situation; she and her husband built the practice from the dirt and unfortunately her husband divorced her and bc of the split they both gained it 50/50 and long story short she sold the practice to a corporate and she became so unbearable that she was chasing her own employees and clients away. She was so negligent towards her patients and had a embarrassing amount of lack of respect for anyone. No one could stand her. I feel sad bc that job was so traumatic that it really deterred me from staying in the field.
Her parents must be so embarrassed at how she exposed their "poor" upbringing.. courtesy and empathy is her blind spot indeed..

As a former vegetarian and EXTREMELY picky eater, (now I'm only a little picky lol, i always try something once!) i get so angry when ppl act how she did about the food. Most people i went to their houses to eat never even knew how picky i was. That is bc i was taught manners. I would NEVER tell someone what they are serving is nasty, whether i like the stuff or hate it. As a doctor, I'd really hope she would be more socially and emotionally intelligent but ...that was sooo disrespectful.

She was very rude against the country, the people (his family members), , and his house. A polite person wouldn't whine all the way to his house, criticize his family and the family house.
My ex lived in a bad area of the city and my family and I went there to meet his family. Not me or my family said anything bad about the neighborhood. I gave my best to be kind. And brought gifts. His family were also at my parents home for all get aquatint. My mom cooked her best dishes and everything.

My first time in the DR, as a Dominican woman, was last year with my husband for our one year wedding anniversary. We went to a resort in Punta Cana, and one thing about driving to our resort that I loved was that we had to go through the “poor” communities. I saw more beauty in those communities tbh…true community!! The true Dominican Republic where there isn’t much opportunity BUT the people make it happen and are grateful for everything they have, which isn’t much compared to us spoiled Americans. She’s honestly so rude for her comments.
When I go to another country, I stay away from the resorts. I want to be with the people that live there and see what it is like. I have been saddened by the food insecurity in some other countries, and shared what I could, and I did not walk away thinking the country was all beaches and resorts.

When people visit South America they see the tourist side which is mainly the city, but they don't see other parts of the country. Most of the people are not poor they just don't live in luxury because they can't afford. But the way she reacted says alot about her she doesn't have any manners.

I know everyone was very impressed with her qualifications, and i am too, but i immediately was like, you would have to have A LOT of money to pursue all those degrees. Im trying to get into medical school rn, and just the amount of money you have to spend on prep for the entrance exam is wild. Let alone the 200,000+ dollars for school itself. Add on Law school? Additional masters? Yes its impressive that she had the work ethic and intelligence to make it through all that, but its important to keep in mind that people dont do all of that on their own, without a comfortable financial family life.
