I can't speak for male bartenders and servers... but when I was a married server, the youngsters always said "hey you'll make more money if you flirt, why don't you flirt?" Flirting was so not worth it. So many men then were offended when I turned down their advances, tipped me way more than they should have to try to sleep with me, and I even got me a stalker. So no. I really should have never worked somewhere like that in a committed relationship and I would never be okay with my husband being a flirtatious bartender.. but they are right, you don't make money if you don't flirt.

Jess’s youngest son is likely undiagnosed autistic . I’m not a doctor, this just an observation when you look at the older child’s behavior you can tell she definitely teaches them manners and what not. The youngest just needs helps learning to express himself in a “socially acceptable “ manner. Also the picky eating is a sensory issue. Said all this to I don’t think she’s trying to be insensitive, she’s trying not to overwhelm her son because he is in a new place, with a new person and she’s trying to avoid an episode.
All young children need to learn to express themselves in a socially acceptable manner, we are not born with that skill. Even doctors don’t diagnose autism off only 2 observations. You need to work on your standard of proof… likely ≠ I speculate that

My grandma used to always put a penny in a purse or wallet if she gave one as a gift. It was supposed to be good luck. By the way they were laughing I don’t think they knew about that superstition. But it is something i’ve heard of before. Just a penny or small coin though.
