Just got me a free cow yesterday. Only had a little bit of car parts hanging out of the cow 😅 ( it was in a car accident). A friend asked me to come haul it away. Cut it up in the back yard. Great to hear all is well and Cassie doing well ❤

It gets its name for being cured with large rock salt, also known as "corns" of salt, not related to the plant.
I bought a cooked Corned Beef at Costco a week ago. As I live alone I cut it into thick slices then vacuum packed 3 slices in each bag. This morning I chopped up one slice and fried a few minutes in butter. Topped it with two eggs over easy and it was delicious and better than any corned beef hash I’ve had in a restaurant and a lot cheaper! Kept me full for several hours. I am really enjoying my first week on carnivore🙂

My mom is from Newfoundland, Canada. We live in Nova, Scotia, Canada. We love Corn beef!!! Its a staple with a meal called "Jigs Dinner". Old way of having it is with Potato, turnip, carrots, cabbage and the corn beef in a large pot together. And the turkey too.
Hi. I just checked Albertsons ad. Most of their beef roasts say "out of stock" already. The rib roast is going for $15.49/lb! So I'm gonna say $9.99/lb sounds sweet!!

Just got a Beef Rib Roast, bone-in, $8.99 a pound at ALDI. Sale ends Tuesday March 26th. Mine was 5.65 lbs @$8.99 for $50.79.
At Food Lion 80/20 Ground Beef @$3.99 a pound. Food Lion Ham on the shank bone @.99 a pound.
At the end of the day I've concluded that there is no secret to losing weight on carnivore it just involves eating less. I track my stuff meticulously and can more or less guess my weight based on the amount of food I eat daily

I've loved corned beef my whole life! But it has to be brined properly. I made one a couple years ago that turned out perfect. I tried something new this year and tried to cook it in the Dreo I got for Christmas. But it doesn't have a setting for brisket. The closest I could get was chuck roast, so I tried that setting. Came out heavy and kind of tough! Won't do that again. When I was a little girl, I asked my mom if we could have "red fall apart meat" for dinner on St. Patrick's Day, and we usually did. My mom brined and slow cooked it herself in a dutch oven.

My husband drove to Louisville today for work and stopped at Publix for the standing rib roast. The limit was 2 on the $9.99/lb roasts, but he found another one that was an Angus standing rib roast for $11.99/lb, also limit 2. He bought all three. He spent $153 and saved $117.
Next time, depending on how many you want + how much freezer space you have (lol, always a problem imho) Put the 2 in your car & go right back in for more. :)

We save them up to use at special times like maybe Easter but definitely Christmas. It really adds up! We shop for two weeks and at a time and only paid $20 something with our points! Plus the are points multipliers too!

I’m from the Philippines and been living here in the US for almost 16 year- Corned beef in both countries is so different.- In the Philippines it’s canned like Libby’s- in here it’s prepared like a Philippine dish called Nilagang Baka - which literally means boiled beef.

I’ve been down with sciatica for a month. My husband has had to bring me my coffee and cook our dinner and he made St. Patrick’s Day dinner and I was so proud of him. He was so disappointed because he sat down and he said it’s not sweet. And so I had to tell him that’s because we didn’t make it the way my daddy did it and the way I’ve done it for 40 years you know? At any rate, he was so sweet. He fed me way too many sugar items, but I wasn’t gonna complain. We had grapes, Jell-O, sauerkraut, and the corn beef. We put it in the instant pot and he was disappointed it was dry. Well, I had been trying to get him to take it out an hour before he did and he didn’t do it. Maybe he’ll think next time I better listen to my wife. At any rate, it was very tender and very good and I’m very appreciative. Anyway he bought two of them so we have some for the future.
I remember the 20 years of sciatica. It went away after doing back weight training excercises. 2 working sets, 3 times a week. Damnest thing ever, like magic

@@kkevinj1who plays do share what you did because I have degenerative disc disease in my back and it affects the nerve in my legs similar to sciatica I don't get the pain I used to but I get the numbness and I get to pain in my lower back and hips so what worked for you please tell us cuz I wanted to work for me😂
Publix is great. Pick the roast(s) you want to purchase and they will slice it or them into steaks for you for free. You can even request how thick you want them sliced. I am in the SE FL area.

Kroger had the 3.99 corned beef sale as well this week. I love sous vide'ing them for 48 hours and then searing.

I fell off AGAIN (I’ve tried twice) and gained all the weight back. I don’t know how to get back on. It’s so hard when I’m addicted ti carbs and sugar and love veggies
No Publix here in northern Colorado but Buc-es just opened. We have King Sooper (Kroger) heer and they have a similar sale on prime rib.
Im in Portland Oregon dang wishe we had publics. Visited them when i was in Alabama.
Not a big fan of commercial corned beef, the $3.99/lb price covers way too much fluid both in the package and soaked up in the meat. I have a couple of places where I can get brisket, which is what the corned beef comes from, for the same $3.99/lb You can dry cure your own corned beef by rubbing the salt and spices into the meat, sealing it in a bag and putting it into the fridge for about fourteen days. I use vacuum sealed bags, but ziplocks will also work.
Since the suis vide machine requires the meat to be sealed in a bag, I move the meat from the fridge into the machine. You can also do a wet brine but I prefer the dry. Once the meat is cured I cook it in the suis vide for twenty four to thirty six hours at about one thirty five to one forty to tenderize it and then I smoke it for about three hours at about one eighty. Comes out great, if you don't want the smoky flavor, you can just skip the smoker.
Smoked brisket sounds incredible👍 It's a labor of love for you, but I'm sure it's worth every bite!

Crock pot on high with half cup water for 4+ hours or
Instant pot for 90 minutes add 1 cup water

@ImagineWrong no I've cooked 1 and 2 and use same time. Just make sure not frozen that you need to add time for.
Boil it till tender add the seasoning packet to water as the seasoning don’t add salt.( probably about 3 hours ) the package should tell you how many hours per pound
