    Man I’m so glad I found your channel! It’s one thing to see people like Baker, Chaffe and Saladino who have great bodies doing carnivore. It’s another thing to see someone in my physical state doing it and documenting their success and struggles! I had started on June 9th and made it without cheating till 2 days ago. Had already lost 22 pounds and pain in my legs and knees had disappeared! I had a bowl of cereal and some pasta 2 days ago and felt completely defeated! I’ve gone from 334 to 312. The breakdown of how the sauces caused overeating was eye opening for me. I’m a carb addict and this was a revelation to why I may have failed with the follow through on keto and carnivore in the past.
    It’s amazing how we negotiate and bargain with ourselves to stop just shy of 100% commitment to being fully invested.

    Wow! I hate that I found this channel. At least my inner cheater does. My sane brain is thrilled! It's exactly what I needed to hear when I needed to hear it. About 4 years ago, I lost 85 lbs in about 4 months on keto. Then my mom developed cognitive impairment dementia. I started living with her several months per year, became 12 years old again and gained it all back, plus. Now I'm 390 and starting carnivore again. I tried carnivore a couple of years ago, and had too many digestive issues. I had to quit just to get out of the bathroom. My husband and I live with my mother full time now. He is a "dirty"carnivore, but he's always been very thin. His BP is down and allergies are gone. My mother is definitely not carnivore or keto, so that doesn't help. I do have her off gluten and eating lots (relatively) of healthy fat. I recently consulted with a carnivore coach through Dr Shawn Baker's channel. She suggested I try to eat as non-inflammatory as possible, including suspending dairy for a while to help with the gut issues and my bad knees. Now, here you are, telling (and showing) me to cut condiments and dairy. Just what I needed to hear, from certified Real People with multiple degrees in Real Life, Common Sense, and Ernestness. Thank you! Keep up the good work.

    You’re exactly right I’ve been trying to tell people this about people who post about carnivore that fasting is the key. We have to all remember that carnivore is a substitute. You’re taking out all the bad foods and substituting in good Whole Foods but fasting brings your insulin down and leaves it down for extended periods of time and that’s how you get into ketosis and that’s how your body utilizes the fat. You are 100% correct and I am so happy about your progress. I’m in the process of doing the same thing. I struggled with carnivore for 45 days and didn’t lose a single pound because everybody told me to keep eating more eat 2 3 4 times a day, 3 to 6 pounds of red meat every single day +10-15 eggs and all this stuff it was crazy. The second I started implementing fasting back into my routine and only eating one meal a day. The weight is flying off. My body is changing super fast and because I’m eating carnivore when I do eat those meals, I’m maintaining my health with all the new minerals and benefits of meat eggs Butter, bacon, and so on.

I think I ate because it was a habit, rather than really being hungry. I've found too, that I don't crave the sauces anymore and the only cravings I get are for meat. It's amazing how this diet changes you mentally!

    This video shows very visually a point I was making in some of my comments, how we wonder why we are eating so many burger patties if they are supposed to be so nutrient dense. Why because of the barbecue sauce, buns, or other carbs, which makes you want to eat more than you’re hungry for, that’s why. Eat them straight, and you may find you can’t eat nearly as many. You clarified it in a nice visual way. And I experienced something of this effect - how carbs dampen the satiety signal.

      Have you taken time to look at your calories per day eaten to make sure you’re in a deficit? I know Carnivore is not meant to monitor like Keto and I love that about it but weight loss is still mostly a calorie deficit.
      That being said, I don’t know your situation as your body may be healing a lot of issue la first and once they are better the weight loss may happen. Either way keep it up!

    • @memrilopez7155
      @memrilopez7155 2 роки тому +2

      @@marcc9926 honestly there is so much conflicting info out there. I'm in several carnivore groups. Asking a question is just a guessing game anymore. People say eat more, eat less, fasting is key, fasting is counterproductive, exercise more, dont exercise yet. More fat, less fat, more protein, less protein. A lot say eat until full. Problem with that is, if you've spent all your life over eating, your hunger hormones are off and it's really hard to tell. So I'm always second guessing everything and so confused. I started Keto in December of 2021. Did that for 3 and a half months and lost 30 pounds. Went straight into carnivore and I've lost 16. So all in all I'm down 46 pounds. But I'm still discouraged and I cant find a rythm to get things going in a consistent manner. I've watched hundreds of hours of all the carnivore experts on youtube and even they have conflicting information. Finding encouragement is easy but finding consistent answers to questions is another story. Long story short, I dont know if I'm eating enough or in a caloric deficiency. But I'd like to know. Thank you.

      Dr Berg says you get healthy, and you will lose the weight, not the other way around. I would STAY THE COURSE! for a couple months, especially if this is a lifestyle you can do for life. But I feel like you are inches away from a breakthrough. Hang in there and best of luck.

    • @memrilopez7155
      @memrilopez7155 2 роки тому +6

      @@MattC2085 it's funny you said that because I feel that I'm hitting that breakthrough right now. Scale is moving in the right direction consistently the past few days. Energy level is going up. No change to my diet at all. So I think my body is giving me the clue that its feeling a lot better internally. I'm staying the course no matter what because the nonscale victories are amazing and worth it. Thank you for your kind words. ❤

    New sub here! I want you to know this video just about made me cry. Your honesty is SO refreshing! I appreciate that you share your ups and downs and I especially appreciate that you state this is "your" diet path and we all have our own path to find. I waver between strict carnivore, clean keto and the occasional cheat meal which, if I'm not careful, can turn into cheat weeks (!). I agree that sauces, seasonings and even cheese can make the difference for some people, and I am one of them. I find they turn perfectly normal meat into "food with no brakes" which is what eating pasta was like for me (and for a first generation Italian-American pasta was life!). I have a health issue that makes prolonged fasting difficult (medication) but I too am naturally an OMAD person. I ate that way in my 20s without even thinking about it and it is still the best way for me. Best of luck to you and Cassie, thanks for taking us along and sharing your experiences. Thank you for this video. I really appreciate the points that you made in it. You are correct that each of us must tailor things a bit to what works at different times. Learning and adjusting takes time, but that’s where the ‘just don’t quit’ principle comes in. It’s been a work in progress for me. I’ve recently come to grasp and value the carnivore way. I’ve become a ketovore with really low carbs and occasional low carb veggies added to some meals. Also, I’ve just got over the hurdle of more lengthly fasts so that’s very helpful. I found your channel this last Saturday and appreciate the community. This was great info! Thanks. I think the MOST NOTEWORTHY point is that you stopped and then came back more than once AND THE SYSTEM STILL WORKED FOR YOU! The same cannot always be said for keto; based on personal experience and that of friends. I've been at it for a couple weeks. I don't think it's dirty carnivore, but it's a little dusty..... My knee, back pain, swelling are gone and range of motion is greatly improved! TWO WEEKS! No hunger, just love and nippage slippage! God bless!

    I must admit for Fourth of July I had my first cheat day and allowed cheese in to my diet. It seemed like a good way to celebrate since I was stuck at work but quickly remembered I am lactose intolerant and all that time not eating dairy didn’t change that. It's like a miracle. lol And you're overflowing with energy. You don't even think about food anymore and you get this fantastic high where you feel AMAZING, mood-wise and physically! I combat the difficult stages of fasting by putting electrolyte salts in my water. I have an all natural berry lemon from Dr. Berg. Not a paid endorsement. Its a bit pricey but its delicious and its a very small scoop that you use, so it last a long time. If not find something completely natural that you like and use that. It really helps me with my mood and I dont feel tired or hungry because I am just zipping a lot of water! The water keeps me fullll....and green tea and or mate tea.

    I have experienced a kind of emotional healing journey since starting an autoimmune Ketovore diet. When you restrict yourself to meat, water, salt and a few vegetables then you discover all the emotional relationship that you have with food. Eating can be boredom, habit, social and emotional.
    I have done lots of fasts and regular 16:8 or 18:6 and I never came to understand my own personal relationships with food.
    I guess the BB&E challenge has done the same for you.
