@@marnasletten3988 sorry, do you mean sardines? There's not a lot of calcium in regular fish. I do eat sardines and take cod liver oil. I have to take a calcium magnesium citrate supplement to keep anxiety down. I upped my fat to 1 stick of butter a day,and that helps a lot, but my body doesn't like to hold on to calcium. It's just frustrating when the minerals that key carnivore voices are lauding (LMNT, keto chow) don't include calcium.

I gained 25-30 pounds over the last 3 years because of high stress and being a full time caregiver to my husband with Alzheimers, my 97 year old mom and step dad. They needed the standard 3 meals a day which just about did me in. They have all passed away this year. I have been a mess emotionally and physically, but now I am ready to get my act together. I look forward to more tips on how to do this. There are lots of things I am hearing that I just don't understand. Thanks for keeping it simple.

6mths ago I had a traumatic event that changed my life completely. My life is still changing. I already had a major weight issue that was consuming me. Within days of the event occurring I just simply began eating more meat and less everything else.
I'm not a strict canivore diet proponent but I am close. I don't beat myself up over not maintaining the strict diet requirements. And I don't beat myself up if I fall off the wagon as has happened I think 2 or 3 times. I just do my best to get back to eating better over the following few days. I eat a lot of green salad and some veg with my meat. I love my greens. I can't afford any sort of steak but I am certainly consuming enough other meat to see me through the day and night. But so far I have lost 30kg otherwise known as 67.5lbs and I feel a heap better. Still another 30lbs to loose. My BP is way down and I am halfway to being off my meds. It is easy to eat out and even have some treats. I am doing great for the first time in many years. I just wish it hadn't come at the expense of certain others in my life. But sometimes that's how things go. Anyway I'm in Australia and just wanted to say it's all good now.

Did keto for 3 years, was great but my wife has suffered with chronic IBS and severe bloating for over 20 years and read many comments on how carnivore reduces inflammation and gut health issues. Now 4 months into carnivore her IBS has completely gone, no bloating, flare ups or stomach cramps or races to the toilet…just incredible. On top of that, I’ve always had fairly high blood pressure which improved on keto but carnivore was another level, I’m now 48 and my BP is better now than at anytime in my life at 119/81. After 4 years of studying health and nutrition and trying both keto and carnivore, both work well but carnivore in my opinion is without doubt the best human diet. To anyone out there suffering with chronic inflammation or autoimmune issues, give carnivore a try for at least 2 months 👍

Actually, grass fed and grass finished beef can be extremely tough, and not very flavorful. You need that extra fat to make it palatable and more tender. This video certainly does have value for everyone. Personally speaking - meat healed my acid reflux, my carb addiction, obesity, insulin resistance , changes in vision, low blood sugar, gallbladder, pancreatitis and kidney problems and even cancer. As a result I'm able to find the time to conduct research regarding a hypothesis I have regarding one possible fundamental reason as to why many members of both the Greatest Generation and the Baby Boomer cohort were both so late at beginning a KETO journey In one word: Popeye. Beginning in 1929, the creators and publishers of the comic strip and the cartoons began a campaign of what perhaps can be referred to as pro-vegan "Popeye-ganda." part of the popular culture zeitgeist for decades. Popeye of course claimed he was "strong to the finich 'cause I eats me Spinach." As a result, countless parents encouraged their children for decades to "eat your vegetables so you'll be strong like Popeye." Remember also that it was common for kids to watch Popeye cartoons between arriving home from school and sitting down to dinner. Talk about timing. To counterbalance things somewhat, of course, the character Wimpy was something of a carnivore with his preference for hamburgers he couldn't pay for. . One cultural milestone which pushed back against this trend was when President Herbert Walker Bush, certainly an proudly told the world that he simply didn't like eating broccoli. Carry on Carnivore Warriors, proud and strong as we celebrate our freedom from vegans on this glorious Fourth of July weekend. Get some protein on that grill, today, tomorrow and Monday. I can assure you there's plenty of it out there - despite these pesky rumors about ongoing worldwide food shortages and empty shelves. I just returned from the local supermarket and the place was packed. Lots of activity around the meat counters in the back. I'm happy to report that virtually no one was at the salad bar. At $7.99 per pound that salad is almost expensive as a good cut of steak - so why bother with salad anyway?

Ha!! Never thought of that, but you’re absolutely right!! I remember experiencing everything you described to a T!! Also, after Dr. Atkins came on the scene, we were warned of the dire consequences to our health that awaited us if we were to follow it. That’s what kept me from trying it- and finding out that I COULD break my sugar addiction- until ~1999.
Since then, I’ve lost and gained the same 70 lbs. several times. After receiving a CAC score of 555 in 2016, I lost the 40 lbs. I needed to and mostly kept it off since then. I’ve had 5lbs./yr. creep back on for the last three years and realized the low carb/keto way was not serving me anymore. That’s when I found the carnivore way of eating. I LOVE that I don’t need to eat vegetables and fruit anymore!! Yay!!
Even though I especially love broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, mushrooms, Vadalia onions, avocados, and strawberries- all allowed on low carb/keto, mind you- I found out that after cutting them and all other veggies/fruit out, I felt tremendously better!! I’ve felt so much better that I have no desire to ever eat any of them again!! Also, by doing that and cutting out any and all sweeteners, my sugar addiction has been quashed and I no longer have the cravings I had developed even on low carb/keto!!
Carnivore is so simple and the best part is now I can eat lots of the butter I loved as a child!! I used to volunteer to help my grandma unwrap the butter just so I could lick the wrapper clean!! Lol I can also eat the bacon and eggs that I also love as often as I’d like.
I’m encouraged that this WOE (way of eating) is on the rise and that Veganism in all its forms is finally being exposed more and more for the harm it wreaks on people’s health.
I think it’s criminal the way people have been led like lambs to the slaughter into thinking that a high carb/low fat diet is best just so others can profit to the tune of billions!! I especially think the medical establishment is culpable since it has a vested interest in keeping people unhealthy and sick. It’s just so insidious and evil!!

I tried the traditional diets. I would fail because I wasn't ready. I didn't really want to give up sugar, or bread or pasta. I finally realized that even though I love these things my body doesn't.
It has been so difficult to do a calorie deficit to lose weight because I was always hungry. I felt like I was not only being deprived of food but I also was not seeing any real results. It was so awful and honestly demoralizing because I wasn't cheating on the diet given to me by a certified dietician.
I was 235Lbs and I just was so tired of people thinking I was pregnant because I carried my weight in my stomach. All my blood tests were normal but I suspect... it was a combo of things preventing me from shedding the extra weight.
    1. I still would have natural sugar
    2. My body thought it was starving so it was holding onto everything it could
    3. Insulin resistance
Now that I have been exclusively Carnivore for 3 weeks, I am not only losing weight consistently but I feel better then I have in years. It will take time to lose the weight but now I no longer dread the journey to get there. Cutting out carbs and sugar has made me feel like I finally found the best way for my body to eat. I no longer have acid reflux or constipation. These digestive issues were always a problem for me but not anymore.
To anyone who thinks eating only meat is crazy... maybe it is but I also think a sugar laiden diet full of processed food is just as crazy.
I'm starting to listen to my body and drown out the crowd of nay sayers. Carnivore has given me hope and provided me with a means to get my body to a healthy weight again.

My tip. Get a metal wood chip smoker container and buy different wood chips. Put the chips, dry, in the container then put the container on the grill when you use the grill, as soon as you turn on the grill. The smoke turns your plain steak into a more savory steak without adding spices. It keeps me from getting bored. Also, if you can afford it, try a char broil oil less big easy turkey fryer $150. You can cook and use the smoke container too. It cooks steak, chicken, etc.. or hunks of meat in no time. Just also buy a thermometer that you keep in while it cooks.

Laura, you were the first carnivore video I saw. And you are still my favorite. Although I like and watch many others, like dr berry, dr Chaffee, and others as well. I’ve been doing 95% carnivore for about 6 months and have lost 26 lbs. and have increased my energy immensely. The two things that I would say to anyone who is just starting is to watch at least one UA-cam video every single day. They are inspirational and help to keep motivation high. The second thing is that I struggled terribly in the beginning. For the first 3 to 4 months, I was tremendously sick. Sicker than I had been before. I almost couldn’t continue on, but my husband kept encouraging me and telling me about the different doctors he had watched that said don’t quit even if you’re sick. I spent most days in bed from fatigue and I had aches and pains and very foggy head. It was kind of miserable. But then one day, it’s almost like a miracle happened. I woke up in the morning and I wasn’t miserable. My energy level had gone from a 2 to a 5 or 6. That’s not huge energy, but when you’ve been miserable for months and even years, it’s fantastic. So stick with it and don’t quit for at least 6 months. And the less you cheat, the quicker you will feel the difference. It’s so worth it. And I’m still not great, but I sure can tell that I am getting there. I am better than I’ve been in 20 years. Thank you Laura and Chris for the wonderful, informative, inspirational videos that you make. I adore you both.

While I've gained all the other amazing benefits~ energy/clarity/body re-comp/sz 16 to sz 12, the weight loss has been much slower. I've also needed to experiment a whole lot more w/fat & protein ratios, some fasting & meal times, while Danny simply ate meat until he was full. He needs more protein than I do, I need more fat than he does. I actually had to cut back on exercise a bit, from 5 days a wk to 2 or 3. *Just want to reinforce not one-sz-fits-all, & not to give up if weight loss is super slow compared to others~ for many of us, it will be. It's still worth every bit of effort in changing eating habits & intake! We feel & move like we're in our 30's & THAT is the grandest prize, imho~ The Whitson's in AZ

That’s exactly how it’s been for my husband and me!! He’s easily dropped weight while I haven’t. I’ve learned however, just as you said, that women need more fat to balance their hormones.
Dr. Elizabeth Bright’s videos are what I believe all women should watch. She’s a specialist in women’s health issues, especially hormones and thyroid.
Another good resource is Bella aka Steak & Butter Gal. She also has a great community in the SBG (Steak & Butter Gang) that’s worth checking out for support and accountability.
The nursery rhyme about Jack Spratt and his wife always comes to mind when thinking of the different needs between men and women:
Jack Spratt could eat no fat
His wife could eat no lean
And so betwixt the two of them
      They licked the platter clean

@@luanneneill2877 Oh my goodness Luanne~ we might just be related! =) That's what popped into my head when I was writing the other day, how funny😂~ plus, it's true! Right there w/you after listening to/reading up on Elizabeth Bright awhile back~ SO much valuable information. I only wish I'd given the higher fat a shot sooner, because all of a sudden the scale's finally moving- hmmm, imagine that.
Agree completely re; supports~It can be disheartening w/out community as most of what's highlighted on social media are the drastic weight loss/fitness accounts, & the look-how-easy-it-was-for-me success stories. There's a whole lot of us in- betweeners~ many who've had to experiment, switch it up & dig deep for the patience needed to stay the course.
Anyhow, loved your comment~ reminds me to have child-like faith, never a bad thing!🎈🤸‍

I follow some carnivore advocates and I like that every one of them has their particular, personal message. For example: Chaffey (?) has „the last 5% make 95% of the difference“ - and that’s making me curious, what is possible. Judy has the „what works for you“ and a lot of therapeutic experience. And you (two - I really like when your husband gets involved in the videos :-) point out the importance of sustainability. This and your „I can only focus on the one day ahead“ tells me that and how it is manageable. Your text (that you posted as a ‚short‘ I think) about this „only one day“ I have printed as THE motivational quote to keep me on the track to health. Thank you so much for your inspiration 🙏

Love finding stories and affirmations like yours. They are so motivating. Just recently diagnosed with T2 diabetes, Hyperthyroidism and Low T at age 50. Had no idea how interrelated those three things are until I started doing research. I am working towards changing my lifestyle to full carnivore or ketovore and even though I am not fully there yet the changes I have made already are noticeable. Stories like yours give me the motivation and drive to continue. Thank you!

I found that eating apple after lettuce and before my meat doesn't cause such carb cravings, but eating anything after the meat, including cheese causes cravings. Agree: I Also learned that cheese should be treated as a condiment, in condiment portion sizes, since I will naturally eat too much of it and it will stop my weight loss.

I have done this concept on my own way before "Keto" or Carnivore suddenly became the current name. I go back to the Atkins days. I came to know that when I have gone off too much and added back in too many carbs/sugars, the easiest way to get off that knawing craving feeling from sugar is to go strong on (beef in particular) protein. I am almost 74 and have an avid workout background my whole life. It is so nice to hear all this positive about some version of this as opposed to vegan this and vegan that which has never resonated with my cells!

I lost 29 lbs. in 30 days in my 30’s on Atkins and felt wonderful! I’m 70 now and feel terrible! I keep trying to jump back on. I went to a weight loss place back then which did Adkins and we started on 4 days of meat only with water. I always used that to get back into ketosis through the tears but now today, it isn’t working for some reason! Very frustrated! I’m truly sick of thinking about eating truthfully!!! I’ve gained in the last 4 years from lack of activity. I still eat the same amount as always. I’m exhausted with it all frankly!
