    This video is a theory and character analysis all in one, and in all honesty it's probably the most head-canony theory I've put out so far, but I've always liked the theory about Ava and Kairi's gran, so I thought I'd add to it. But I swear, if it turns out that Ava is actually just somehow hanging out in Quadratum... Smh
    EDIT: I just considered the possibility that Ava's "sin", greed, could be related to her wish to protect everything and the light 🤔

    The closest concept of 'Greed' that I can possibly see being related to Ava is her desire for everything to turn out the way she wanted regardless of the truth or reality of the situation. If she is indeed the traitor and also associated with greed, then it stands to reason that her denying the results of the keyblade war is selfish and in a way, 'greedy'. She wants it all, the people she loves to be safe, the darkness to be repelled, the inevitable war to be halted, and the Dandelions away from the dark future that waits for them.
    She can't let things go any other way and in so doing falls to her own desires.

    I guess a question one might ask is how Ava got to the future, but that's the question we have for everyone from the Age of Fairytale. The Foretellers, MoM and the Union Leaders. All of them get to the future yet they don't exist there originally. We know the ark is likely how the union leaders get there, but we still don't understand how the Foretellers did it, and Ava is a Foreteller. And Luxu thought it was possible Ava might appear, which means she is alive and must be around in the present day somewhere.
    I also think if she is Kairi's Grandmother, that might show that Luxu and MoM aren't so bad. Luxu and Kairi's Grandmother are both in radiant garden at the same time, so if Luxu knows who she is, maybe he left her alone cos as he said in the epilogue, she had a mission and carried it out. He knows her role is over. She's basically retired from her role as Foreteller now so he just leaves her in peace until he needs to reunite the Foretellers. When he sees she chose not to come, he understands cos he knows her role was complete. Also, his role was to simply observe until he found someone who was chosen, by the time he's in radiant garden, Xehanort has No Name, so clearly he found his chosen one. He has no business with Ava if she is a grandmother, and she wouldn't recognise him, just like the other Foretellers didn't because of his new body. So that explains why they didn't interact. If ever there was a time they'd interact, it'd be now, after the reunion of the Foretellers
    And if she is the traitor, MoM would obviously have known that. That would explain why he speaks to Ava differently. He knew she would be the one to start the war, and he probably felt bad for her but knew it was neccessary for his "greater good".
    That's why he says to her "Ava, you're the *only* person for this". He knows out of all the Foretellers, her role is the most crucial. The other Foretellers might have not wanted war, but if they learnt the truth from Luxu, they wouldn't have attacked him and started the war. Because they weren't greedy. Ava is greedy for everything she knows to be protected, and that greed she represents is what drove her to attack Luxu and begin the war. So I have no doubt that's why she's "the only person for this".
    Also, I have a feeling if she no longer serves the Master, she wouldn't be wearing her Foretellers robes either. So whoever she is, wherever she is, it's very possible she's hiding in plain sight. So a grandmother is entirely possible

      But it’s been a minute between the fairytale era of the foretellers/dandelion and just the era of Xehanort and Eraqus , then it’s been a good 50+years before the bbs events leading up to Sora era. @@togucvinw7 Ava is alive somehow, so even if she isn't Kairi's Grandmother, Nomura will have an explanation for her being alive. But bare in mind he said in an interview that the Foretellers got to the present by time travel. And we know characters like Ventus and Lauriam from Union are in the present day but still young. So if Ava time travelled and ended up in the Dark Road time, she could easily have stayed living till the present day. In fact, she'd be exactly old enough to be Kairi's Grandmother by then too. Assuming all that is true, it opens up the possibility that she might pop up in Dark Road at some point but without her Foreteller robes and as a young woman, meaning we'd probably never guess it's her

    I really like the irony that Ansem the Wise had a book in his library that could have given him all the answers about the heart that he wanted, but didn't read it because it was a book of children stories. The idea that his pride could lead to his people getting experimented on, the birth of the emblem heartless, and the fall of his world and it all could have not happened if he had read a fairy tale book really fits his character. I do realize that it is unlikely to be the full story but there are so many theories that it has honestly become the one that I like the most. Then again I tend to really like a lot of theories that are very unlikely to really be what is happening simply because they make me laugh.
    That said the Ava means grandma in latin does seem like a very good point which is more then I can say for any other Kairi's Grandma theory I have heard. The Ava is the traitor theory I have heard before and honestly I think it fits, and I agree with everything you said about that theory. I also really like the idea that Ava is the only good foreteller at lest at first. I think that Gula and maybe some of the others are likely also going to turn once he sees MoM for who he really is.
    There is really a big problem with the Ava is Kairi's Grandma theory. And that is that Ava has a piece on the board. Which means she has to be an active part of the next saga, and thus not most likely dead which as far as we can tell it what Kairi's Grandma is. Plus I really want to see her if not as young as she is in UX at lest in her prime, though I can admit this is a want not a need. We do know that Ava even if she is Kairi's Grandma has to have fond some way to not age for a very long time or maybe just age really slowly. Hopefully not the way that Luxu has because body hopping seems like a very evil thing to do. She likely didn't use an arc because there would be no one to remember her except Luxu who she really seems to dislike.
    So yeah your theory is the most likely that I have heard but I don't like the theory and don't want it to be true. My personal favorite theory about Kairi's Grandma is she was a Princess of Heart who pasted on her Light to Kairi in order to protect her or heal her at some point again unlikely but allows the Grandma to be died without harming the story any. Which is really what I think the Grandma is. If she lived to see the heartless destroy Radiant Garden or if she was killed by Terranort I am not sure but she doesn't seem like she would live through everything that happened to that world. My personal favorite Ava theory is that she got thrown into the realm of darkness or the realm of sleep when the world was destroyed, this would allow her not to age. I also could believe her stay in such places instead of leaving because of the pain of the war. If she is in the realm of darkness Aqua is the most likely to find her, and if she is in the realm of sleep Riku is the most likely. So honestly the realm of darkness makes more sense.
    Still I do believe that the KH teams can use almost any theory and make it work in a way that is meaningful and a fun story to have. So I am not to worried about who Kairi's Grandma is or where Ava is. When they are ready to show us they will start dropping hints or maybe just surprise us. And however they end up doing it I will most likely like it. I might be a little disappointed if we don't see how Ava looks under her mask or if she has aged a little how she looks in her prime, but if they don't show us they don't show us and I can live with that.

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +2

      Lmao yeah it'd be hilarious if the truth was hidden right under his nose and his scholarly arrogance would mislead him.
      Also, if I'm completely honest with you, I'd like if Ava was young too. I don't really feel excited by the idea of her being a granny, but all the evidence seems to point to that, and in a way I do like the drama it could lead to. But I won't deny that I'd love to see Ava come back and fight the MoM for how he mislead them all and used her, but idk if that's the direction they'll go.
      To do with your point about Ava's chess piece, I think the solution is as simple as her being replaced, just like Sora was replaced by Xion as the 13th darkness. And I have an idea of who the replacement is but I'm going to save it for a video. Keep in mind though, the chess pieces are based on the Union symbols, not the Foretellers themselves or their masks, which is why the BOP symbol counts as a chess piece

    • @hillaryslack2884
      @hillaryslack2884 3 роки тому +2

      @@NextGenNovelist Hmm the idea that the chess pieces could just mean a member of the union does give us a lot more options. The next question would be which of the time traveling dandelions is most likely to be part of Ava's Union. I can't really see Ventus joining the foretellers even though he is by far the most likely to be in Ava's Union. Skuld is likely in the same Union as Ephemer seeing as they where party members and Ephemer is whatever Union is opposite of of Player's so she might also be out of the running even though people always say she reminds them a lot of Ava. Lauriam honestly reminds me a lot of Aced and so I wonder if he is part of his Union, but I can see both Strelitzia and Elrena who are in the same Union being part of Ava's and Lauriam being her brother might have gone with her into that Union because he didn't want to compete with her. I don't know I would have to think about it more.
      It does make sense that there would be a shuffling of the pieces. After all in the first saga there where times when some pieces where black or white depending on who was possessed when. Though at the same time the shapes always meant a single person rather then a person that could be part of a group. The only pieces that didn't work like that where the Light of the Past pieces and that was partly because there where several of them.
      Still the chess board is a new thing and we don't understand the rules of it yet so just because the symbols have most often meant a single person doesn't mean that they always have to. And Luxu most likely has a different symbol then Xigbar did so it isn't as if a person's symbol can not be changed.
      It also could be possible that the foreteller symbols might not mean them but rather the role that MoM has for them and the person themselves is replaceable. Which does put a dark taint on how MoM might see the people around him. It would even make sense with how he has acted so far when we have seen him.
      I am glad that we are in agreement that we would rather the Ava and Kairi's grandma are not the same person. Still if they do it well I am sure they could make it a lot of fun.
      You know what one of my theories is that the foretellers are going to really like Kairi and try to get her away from the other Guardians because all but Mickey are tainted by darkness in one way or the other. They might like Ventus to which is part of the reason I have been thinking of Kairi and Ventus as a team for the near future. Anyway if Kairi is related to Ava having her show us what Ava would have looked like could work, it would also make them really overprotective because all of them liked Ava. It still doesn't explain why Luxu seems very sure that Ava is still alive. Though if he thinks Kairi is Ava... he must be really wondering why Kairi is so bad at protecting herself and fighting, I mean Ava was never the fighter of the group but all the foretellers are several steps higher then the present day wielders. If Ava did have a kid even if it isn't Kairi I can see the foretellers being really protective of them as soon as they find out. Which is an idea that I have played around with before just never with Kairi before your video.

      @@hillaryslack2884 I agree with pretty much everything you've said. The chess pieces can be adjusted, and they previously were. Demyx, Xion etc. were placed as pieces on the board, yet they went turncoat. So we know that being on one side doesn't mean you're fixed in that role. And based on the past Ava has with the MoM there's no way she's going to assist him anymore. With that in mind, which Union Leader have we not seen yet that we know is out there? Ava is 100% the Traitor. It's like Gula said: whoever deviates from their role is the Traitor, and Ava explicitly did that by defying the Master's instructions and handing Brain the Book of Prophecies instead of whomever it was meant for. Luxu isn't surprised that Ava doesn't come back because it was his role to carry the secrets of the Lost Page, ergo he knows Ava is the Traitor.
    "But wait!" You might say. "If Ava is the Traitor, then why did Luxu say she successfully carried out her mission?". And while I'm not going to say I know the answer to this, because it could just be narrative waxing, think back to the Case of Ava cutscene. While the Master is deceiving them into believing an event set to occur in centuries if not millennia is going to doom their world in a matter of years, he, with the lack of his goofball tendencies he has with the other Foretellers and even Luxu, tells Ava that she will "keep the light from expiring". I'm starting to think _this_ might be an actual reference to the Keyblade War from 3, because if Ava is indeed related to Kairi and her grandmother or literally *is* Kairi's grandmother, guess what: Sora was only able to use the power of waking, rewind time, and defeat Xehanort thanks to *Kairi* keeping him threaded. And assuming Luxu knew Sora would defy the Book of Prophecies, suddenly what Luxu said in the Epilogue makes total sense: Ava's role was literally to keep the light from expiring, and by having one of her descendants keep the Kingdom Key bearer alive, she fulfills that.

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +14

      I agree 1000%!! After I made this video, I was reminded that Kairi kept the light from expiring by keeping Sora in the final world, and my immediate thought was that it affirms Ava is her grandmother, because like I said in this video, she keeps telling Kairi to remember to keep the light inside herself alive, and in KH1 she even says "Do you understand, Kairi?" as if it's an instruction for her specifically, not just a story. And about Luxu saying Ava fulfilled her role, he's right, she did. Her role was to create the Dandelions and put them in another world so the light would be preserved and that's exactly what she did. If she hadn't, they wouldn't be standing in that graveyard to talk about it. So yes, she literally fulfilled her role, and perhaps that extends to her raising Kairi as well. Her being the traitor was also her role, and she fulfilled that too, albeit unwittingly

      I always theorized the traitor, the X, was Sora. Which is why Mom knows the Foreteller's cannot stop their Keyblade War, because it wasn't their War. Remember, the sigil is placed on Sora in Dream Drop Distance. Luxu is there, and sees this happen. So Mom knows this happens. Sora betrays the prophecy in the Book where Light expires. Also, remember what Mom tellls one of the Foretellers, quote "C'mon, do you really think seven people can save the world?" with sarcasm. He knows Sora and friends will, but in order for that to happen, the Foreteller have to fail. So Mom tells them, basically "you will not succeed, but try anyways".
      Sora is Mom's Ace in the Hole. Sure, Sora betrays the Book, but that is only because Mom didn't write the whole thing, and made it vague on purpose. Basically, He is trolling the hell out of everybody.
      This also explains why Ava freaked out on Luxu. Luxu probably told her everything was designed to fail for the Foretellers from the beginning, and Mom facilated it.
      Guia in Back Cover specifically said the traitor was called the X( the one who bears the sigil), and Dream Drop calls attention to the X (sigil) on Sora.

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +2

      @@Fragmentsinfractals488 I just went to rewatch that scene. Yeah, he mentions the sigil, and tbh I'm not sure what to make of that because that would almost definitely apply to Sora, but that doesn't add up with anything else. He literally spells out in Chi who the traitor is, and every single line relates to Ava.
      Yet in the movie he doesn't mention any of those lines at all to her. And how can Sora be the traitor when it says the traitor will start the war with one strike, and the bell will toll? Which strike did Sora do? What bell? Lol I don't know if I really recall many bells in KH at all, let alone in KH3 in the Keyblade graveyard.
      The thing is, I think the book is referring to both of the wars, because it has to cover the Foretellers war, because that's part of the prophecy. If that war doesn't happen then the KH3 one doesn't either. Its just the Foretellers aren't aware there's a war beyond theirs, so they think its only referring to them. Maybe there's two traitors. Ava and Sora. Idk. It's the only thing that makes sense, unless Ava bears the sigil too.
      So either Nomura retconned the stuff from Chi with Back Cover, or the BOP is referring to two different traitors of two different wars, and that's why Gula is confused, or Ava somehow has the sigil too. Idk.
      But the way I see it, Ava is still the traitor of her time regardless. I just don't understand how Sora can be a traitor to a prophecy or Master he doesn't even know exists. And Sora doesn't try to start any war, Xehanort does that

      @@NextGenNovelist Ok, let's go through the passage assuming Sora is the traitor. Here we go.
      Unable to permit disharmony (allow The Darkness to win)
      You will be disappointed by Fate (all your friends dying)
      and lose sight of true strength ( Sora collapses and screams "its over" a very un Sora-like thing to do)
      Misreading the Truth ( not realizing Mom set Sora up for the win)
      You wil' venture forth in secrecy (playing Sora's future ghost in Re Mind)
      With one final strike the bell will toll ( this one takes a little explaining. Ever heard the phase the bell tolls for you? It mens someone is to die. Xehanort strikes down Kairi and Sora attacks Him, summoning the X Blade, or the Death Blade)
      The Final Battle will begin ( Xehanort vs Sora in Scala Ad Caelum)
      and the time will be chosen (Xehanort's timeless Scala Dream)
      To add supporting evidence, At the beginning of Kingdom Heart 3, The Boy in Black (Xehanort) says during his Chess Match of Sora's Keyblade War with the Boy in White (Eraqus) " On that Land shall darkness prevail and light expire. " The next time we see that quote in a major way is right after Sora "dies". The Heartless Tide runs him down, the screen goes black, and we get "And so, as foretold, darkness prevailed, and light expired..
      We then go back to the Boy in Black who says "checkmate" and quotes the passage again.
      What this tells me is that passage in the Book of Prophecies just occured before our very eyes.
      Then Sora pulls a Fate alteration, and Eraqus gets all his pieces back , "betraying" Mom prophecy (secretly just as planned)
      ,Sora doesn't have to know he is Mom's favorite piece for it to be so. "Fortuneteller" or more accurately "Fate Teller" is what Mom is. Mom sets character's future roles by tells them just enough for them to end up where he want them to be, or setting up the variable to cause fated people to exist.
      Also, Ava did exactly what she was supposed to do, she just didn't know she was doing it. Brain is Eraqus ancestor, so he was supposed to get the Book. Also, Mom wants the Foreteller's War to happen, so he can have his "Sora". his proxy. The War of the Foreteller will indirectly cause Sora to be born. Sora will "cheat" Darkness out of his win. Thus, Mom wins.

Parts of what you're saying I completely agree with and have theorised myself in other videos, specifically to do with Sora being part of MoM's plans. The way you're describing it is very interesting though, and I can see a lot of sense in it, but those passages Gula stated I'm certain had to do with Ava at the time that cutscene was made because the parralels were too clear. The sigil thing came later in back cover, and the fact it wasn't mentioned in the game leads me to suspect Nomura chose to add it in later, so if you're right and Sora is the traitor, I think it's a retcon by Nomura after he decided Ava being the traitor was maybe too simple and opted for a more vague outcome. The fact that Ava and Kairi's grandmother are the only ones to bring up fractions of light/children to rebuild the lost worlds...there definitely has to be a link. It would also make sense that Radiant Garden is called...well you know _Radiant Garden_ since Ava founded the Dandelions and wanted to spread seeds of hope to the lost worlds. It would make perfect sense that Ava was the one to have founded Radiant Garden since Ephemer founded Scala ad Caelum. Thirdly, it would also make sense as to why Kairi is a princess of Heart to Radiant Garden in the first place, and how she is able to wield the keyblade after her meeting with Aqua. Lastly, if Aqua never listened to Kairi's grandmother's story, she would have never heard of the philosophy of light overcoming darkness _by sleep._ If Aqua never heard of such of an ideal, she never would have created Castle Oblivion to protect Ventus' heart of pure light, who just so happens to have been an ancient keyblade wielder, and being the boy of prophecy to forge the X-blade to summon Kingdom Hearts.

    That would explain the heartless attraction to Kairi, the darkness remembers her or senses not just her light but the she was a Keyblade weilder the whole time, I also have a theory of aqua being a relative like a sister or cousin of kairi’s, the darkness/heartless are just as infatuated with her as well plus they were fated to meet when aqua is a Keyblade master anyway

    You’re right Kairi’s grandma, whom we don’t even have a name for, seems to know facts that should have been forgotten by all save for the Keyblade masters. It’s possible she’s a descendant of a Keyblade master who managed to survive the event that shattered the world into different pieces and thus it was passed down orally. If she is Ava then how did Ava manage to make it to the future when, presumably, she didn’t exist at that time? This is a bit like the Mickey conundrum you mentioned in a previous video and I think we need answers. Is it possible there are other ways to time travel without needing to exist in the period you are traveling to?

      The thing is, that same question could be asked of the Foretellers and the MoM as well as the Union Leaders. All of them get to the future yet they don't exist there originally. We know the ark is likely how the union leaders get there, but we still don't understand how the Foretellers did it, and Ava is a Foreteller. And the thing is, Luxu thought it was possible Ava might appear, which means she is alive and must be around in the present day somewhere

    I honestly hate theories like this. Not every little thing needs to have a twist with a big reveal.
    Concrete knowledge about the keyblade is indeed rare. But most people know some fairy tales. So I find it far easier to think that Grandma is just telling a fairy tale to her granddaughter like lots of grandparents do, one that got passed down with the passage of time like most fairy tales. Some things ARE that simple.
    Much easier to think that then "Grandma is secretly Ava who time traveled to a seemingly arbitrary point in time to EVENTUALLY help raise Kairi cause she would've actually needed to have a kid of her own first. Then as part of her plan she will instill everything Kairi needs to know within 4 years, of which maybe 1 year of that is what a child can be reasonably expected to remember and with Kairi even that is shaky". Not to mention if Ava is Grandma, when the darkness attacked, don't you think she could've done something to save Kairi at least? As opposed to Kairi running around Radiant Garden alone desperate to find safety? Sure she's old, but Xehanort was damn near 100 by the time of the final battle of KH3 and can still put up a fight. Even if Ava was never AS good as Xehanort, she was still a Master at one point, and among the most knowledgeable of her time. I think she'd be able to pull something off to save her family.

    Always the possibility that Kairi's "grandma" read a "certain book" in radiant garden. On another note, I have wondered at times if the main gang Sora, Riku and Kairi were actually some of the children from the UX timeline and then they were somehow transported on destiny islands. But we are led to believe that this was their home so I dunno, maybe Kairi is still an option cause she joined destiny islands much later after being sent from Radiant Garden?
    Also another food for thought; in that newer scene with Ventus we see darkness accompany him (Ventus looks like he could be in a trance but he doesn't appear body snatched) and then they take the form of Ava. So I wonder if Kairi's memory lapses/confusion could be explained in a similar fashion? I mean KH3 Ventus appears to be totally unaware of his past. Yet in the UX game he has a dream where he gets his fragmented memory of Strelitzias death back after he starts to realize he played a part in killing her.

    I mean don't always take things you're told as the solid truth right? There's always another side isn't there? It would be an epic twist to the story and SE have explored dark endings before, like Type 0. You got people like Riku who have learnt how to embrace both sides, whereas the Foretellers probably have the belief pure light is all that matters. What I think the next conflict will be is a battle over the concept of what "light" actually is, and how perhaps darkness despite its downsides, isn't necessarily evil. And as you said, everyone there is a child.. Where are the adults? The Foretellers are obviously older than the kids who serve them, but where did the Foretellers themselves even come from? I like the theory that they're split from MoM in some way, that's very plausible. But regarding the kids, I doubt the parents would be sitting there letting them go off into strange worlds and literally have a war with each other that ends the world..

    I don't think Kairi's grandma is Ava. Maybe she was one of the lost Xehanort's mates and somehow lost her identity, who she was, but her heart remembers what happened (like Skuld arriving to Radiant Garden and thinking about friends and a key and "May your heart be your guiding key" blah blah blah). Could that also be related to why Xehanort's interest had to be Kairi (Melody of Memory's flashback, apart from being a pure light and a princess of heart, and btw, I still think the title "MoM" has a purpose, even if Nomura has said something about it or not)? Or maybe the Grandma is just the way to tell us the story (we, for example, know the story of Earth but we don't know who was the one that started passing that from generation to generation or to books). About the concept of traitor, it can be any character from any timeline at this point (even if the Master told the Foretellers he/she was among them and apart from the Dark Chirithy situation). The Master of Masters himself said "The truth is what you see with your eyes -appearence/unknown reality-, not what you hear -"known" events/told story-". Relating it more to the traitor stuff, without judging sides, the "evil" would understand the betrayal in a different way than the "good ones" and vice versa, each part would have a perception, which based in the Master of Masters "bad" intentions (no judgement as I said, even if that would mean it's bad for the good side but ok for his side), there's something he considers a threat to his plans (I think I don't have to say that they look pretty dark even if we don't know them 100%). I still think the Master is messing with each head he meets and its perception. At this point, without affirming it, he could even be the dark Sora from the future, considering that each character has kinda an internal alter ego/counterpart, good/bad (not like what Vanitas was, I'm talking about one of the last updates of Sugar Race in KHUx where Chirithy talks to the player about something like seeing yourself in another way or another) or us, The Player (and that's how he/we know everything that will happen). Mickey's investigation in Scala (apart from KHUx/Dark Road) will tell us more (I think the quests where Donald, Goofy and him appear with the Gummi Ship are connected to that, who knows. Invi was watching him from a rooftop, btw). What's clear is that the point where the KHUx story is looks REALLY intriguing and interesting! 🔑💛

      @@justawafflecousinofpancake4499 lea and Kairi are the only red heads in radiant garden. Kairi being a princess. Ansem the wise is the King. Family tree seems pretty implied. Would also explain Lea's keyblade if he was Ava's decent and Kairi's brother. Because that literally came out of nowhere and Numora never does anything on accident.

      Kinda. The traitor part is debunked for sure (though I still think it should have been Ava), but I mostly included that as a possible motivation for why she disappeared, didn't answer the summons, and might have went on to become Kairi's grandmother. For now, it's still possible she's the granny, and she still clearly doesn't agree with the Master, but yeah, she's not the official "traitor" I guess

    Kairi’s grandma could master Ava or could be vor one of xehanort’s classmates/friends. Only time will tell. Have a great night and sleep dreams.
