You should really look at The Sleeping Realm Theory Google Doc. It's extremely long and in depth. Not quite everything in it is quite right but a fair amount is or seemslike it could be right, and it brought up a great many things that ended up having actual relevance in Re Mind.

I wasn't agreeing on the "two Brains" thing, but when you mentioned data riku, which was the journal itself having riku as its avatar... what if *The book of prophecies* being the origin of the world recreated in the datascape, is the second brain? Maybe the book uses brain and his avatar. Imagine Riku entering jiminny's journal and finding data riku

I feel like we’re missing another puzzle piece with this one. The fake Brain vs real Brain theory makes sense, along with darkness becoming Vanitas/having something to do with Vanitas. However, I don’t quite believe that Ava is fake Brain. My senses are telling me that there’s something else we’re missing, some other person we haven’t met or clue we weren’t given. I feel like Ava’s disappearance at the end of KH3 is a way to tell us that she might be a bit MIA for some of this. I dunno, I just feel like she shouldn’t be appearing in some of these places. Thinking is hard and my Brain hurts. I can’t formulate KH theories.
I see you, I'm definitely open to a third person behind this. But I also think we shouldn't dismiss the way Xigbar talks about her in KH3's epilogue-- which, I need to be honest, may be about another event entirely that we don't know about yet.
Let’s say Ava, who Luxu sees became the traitor allowed Darkness into her heart. Ava, being a powerful Foreteller, wrestled control away from this bodysnatcher sometime after Darkness started informing Maleficent of her fate. Having knowledge of what Darkness has been up to and realizing the degree of inevitably of the dandelions being sent to a data world with Darkness, decides to remedy fate by giving Brain a means to save them via the arc. But, Darkness was cunning, and devised a plan to seek a way into the next world. What if Darkness continued to body hop from Ava to Brain to Ventus to Vanitus which would explain the source of Vanitus’ power over the unversed, which is a construct of Darkness in many forms.

He definitely wears the black coat, and he's still alive and around during the time of UX, and he SHOULD return soon to talk to Maleficent soon if we're looking at his reports. But like I said, I'm open minded, I'm not at all willing to fight tooth and nail on who I think it is haha

As for Xigbar/Luxu calling the virus the imposter could be a sign of misdirection that Luxu doesn't know and is making an incorrect assumption
You'd think if Luxu wrote "this whole thing was supposed to be by the books." and "someone the Master did not choose" that the MoM would have walked Luxu through everything that should happen, and who he chose as all the Union Leaders. So it's just interesting that Luxu didn't write something like "One person has the Book when they're not supposed to, AND another isn't supposed to be here at all!!" All he mentions is the virus. 🤔

Something that popped into my mind while watching your “Ava is Darkness incognito” theory... What if Ventus is working along side Ava? Then Ava could still be darkness but the traitor among the new union leaders would be Ventus

When I first saw this in my subscriptions, I was like "why would there be two Brains? That doesn't make sense."
But... I'm kind of convinced now.
Ava's continued absence in Uχ despite being such a critical character, to me, says that when she *does* appear, the entire story is going to undergo a huge shift in one way or another. Whether she's impersonating Brain, mucking around as Darkness, something else entirely, or a combination of all three, Ava's *definitely* up to something behind the scenes.
We still haven't seen Luxu at all either, even though his Secret Reports confirmed he'll be around the pass No Name onto one of the Union Leaders. I think those two hold the key to what Union χ[Cross] is really all about.
And speaking of Luxu, it's probably his presence that is making Ava move so secretly. She knows he's out there being the Master's eyes and ears, so of course she doesn't want them to see *her* acting against the Master's will.
Also, this just occurred to me, but if Ava is impersonating one of the Leaders, then isn't it strange that Skuld was repeatedly referred to as being "just like Ava?" Skuld is the only one we haven't seen Ava recruit (bar Ventus obviously), and I've felt for a while that it was strange for Skuld to be shoulder-to-shoulder with Ephemera as Union Leaders, when in χ[chi] she chased after him endlessly to no avail.

Oooh, this is a really interesting theory. I wouldn't be surprised if some, if not most of your theory is correct. Of course, it's always hard to say with Kingdom Hearts, and who knows if there's just important information we're missing out on. I'm definitely convinced though that Ava is still around in UX and up to SOMETHING. It'll be interesting to see if we'll get to see Darkness merge with Ventus before the end of UX?

A sound theory. Keep up the great work! I love tuning in to your channel!
Brain could have multiple personality disorder, or the equivalent of that in this world. We don't know who the original is and what they person knows and the other one is just going along with everythin witout knowing what the main personality is doing, if that makes any sense.
I think that the imposter identity will be Luxu's big mistake and advantage for Ava. Assuming the virus is multiple people (Ava, Brain, Ven, Luxord and Skuld, or even Yozora, fr example) Luxu knows there is an imposter, but does not know which of the children it is. He knows this by what the Master told him. He knows the traitor bears the sigil, and when Skuld (not confirmed but bear with me) becomes subject X, she literally bears and X as a name. So maybe during the post-BBS time, he thought it was her and that is why he interfered. But when he sees the effect Ven had on Sora, with the Roxas situation (another switcheroo) he starts to call Sora "traitor", referring to Ven inside him. And then, when he realizes Luxord knows more than what he should, he starts questioning if member X in the organization is the virus. All the while, Ava machinated for the virus to be multiple players in the masters game.
@PeanutButter a lot of Xigbar's actions in Days and KH2 can have a double meaning with the knowledge he is Luxu. lines like "you dont look like half the hero the others were...". At the time you can assume he means the BBS trio. But he can also be talking about the dandelion leaders.

Do you think that “Darkness” was the voice from the station of awakening this whole time?
I think what spoke to Sora in ReMind was a form of Darkness being from the start of the key-blade war, which MoM mentions. Vanitas in my opinion is another one of those beings.
Ooh the idea of Darkness always being the voice is interesting! It WOULD imply they also have a connection to Sora (perhaps VIA ventus) since that voice has commented in Sora's SoA since KH1. EDIT: Which who knows, maybe that's Nomura eventually explaining Sora fighting that one Darkside.
And in all honesty, I think Vanitas being the same "species" as Darkness makes more sense then Vanitas BEING the same exact person as Maleficent. ReMind makes it seem liek they're the same but honestly... it just creates so many holes, contradictions, and complications that I hope either 1. it's not the case after all or 2. Nomura knows what he's doing and has a perfect explanation answering all the questions I will have if it ends up being true LOL

Just re-watched this and the first thing i notice is that Ava is not darkness, and she is also not the traitor. But it seems that there are 2 brains, or something weird is going on. I love all these videos, you and Sonny Novus are incredible and with FF7R and it's deep secrets with a ton of story and lore behind them (that we have yet to discover) it just proves Nomura's absolute genius writing techniques.

After the latest update, I think this fake Brain might be Luxu. Luxu tells the master he can't accept waiting for an answer which is why this fake Brain is quick to read the BOP. On top of that we see signs of him acting rude to Ventus kinda like how Xigbar/Braig acts in the series.

Currently, I believe that Strel's killer+Darkness+the impostor are all just Ava because the recent update showed that we were overthinking and all the info is already in the story lol. The red flag for Ven not being on the list was simply his comment on not talking much with Ava.
As for why Ava would be calling herself Darkness, I think it's because she's full of Guilt. I don't think it's Vanitas because he hasn't said anything yet, in the games or novels, that shows he knows about the BoP. Instead, I think he's similar to the Nightmare chirithy: a being created from accumulated darkness.
I absolutely agree with you on the Vanitas subject. I feel like the theory has a lot of holes that Nomura's really going to have to bend over backwards to explain. ReMind seems to imply it a lot, but that doesn't mean it's answering any questions or resolving any contradictions the theory has.
And I never connected Ava to Guilt, that's super fascinating. We know that Nightmare Chirithy belongs to Player, but I still never considered the idea of Guilt affecting anyone else! I'll keep that in mind :O
A few things i think its worth pointing out.
On the "Ava is Darkness" theory, you did mention a lot that Luxu/Xigbar made a difference between "Mission" and "Role", meaning that both of them are different things, however, this could also be a mistranslation, the KH series is known for having a good amount of mistranslations and KH3 is no different, specially considering how in Back Cover they do bring up both the term "Light" and "Lux" when they are literally the same thing (in fact, im fairly certain that both terms are even brought up on the very same cutscene when they are meaning the exact same thing, but not 100% sure in this bit), so Luxu saying both Mission and Role on the same cutscene, meaning the exact same thing, is not farfetched.
But, what would change if Mission and Role meant the same thing? Well, Ava's role was to create the Dandelions group, make them survive the war and then let them rebuild the worlds, thanks to Kairi's Grandma's story, we know that the Dandelions were successfull, so, if by some reason Luxu managed to get a grasp out of Ava's role (which isn't hard to imagine considering she didn't kept it a secret at all) he would know at what point Ava would fulfill her role, the very fact Luxu managed to keep doing his role is the proof Ava succeded.
Now, for this theory itself, its okay to have some gaps on the theory considering that KHUX still hasn't ended, this story arc will probably end before Dark Road is released, regardless, there are things that we dont know yet, and that much is a given, but theres also one thing that we do know thanks to KH3's reports, Luxu gave the No Name keyblade to one of the 5 union leaders, if we compare them to Xehanort, he probably got the keyblade the moment he became a master, specially considering how at the very begining of KH3 it does kinda hint how at the moment Xehanort becomes a master, he will get that keyblade, but not before, if we follow this train of thought, then the moment one of the 5, regardless of who they are, gets the No Name keyblade, not only could they officially become a master but could potentially have the means of activating the Ark, which invalidates the need of the Fake Brain being Ava or the need of Ava being there.
As a side note, its also important to mention that Ven clearly remembers speaking with Ava and her chosing him to be a leader, this could mean 3 potential things:
- Ven is lying because he knows he is getting caught.
- Someone altered Ven's memories and he truly remembers that despite it never happening (akin to what happened to Sora in CoM)
- Ven actually talked with Ava, but wether this is the real Ava or someone pretending to be her, is unknown.
And depending on the answer, it could change things a lot, specially considering how theres a real chance of Ven being the imposter without him even knowing that (while theres also the chance of him actually killing Strelitzia for the sole reason of becoming a leader)
Regardless of that, this theory was well put together, but there are things (like the ones i brought before) that dont really convince me.

Well I am still leaning towards Darkness being Ava. As for the line in Remind Vanitas says 'What I am is Darkness' not Who. And he is darkness an embodiment of it in fact. Darkness the character however doesn't act like Vanitas, as far as I can tell. Though now that you have explained this two Brain's theory it does seem that other Brain does act like Vanitas. At the same time if there are two Brains the real one has to know that the other is around if he isn't being taken over. After all if fake Brain was the one that went to the fake graveyard to meet the other new leaders then true Brain would at the very lest need to have some knowledge of meeting the other leaders for the first time.
In some ways the idea that there are two Brains makes a lot of sense. Brain has always been a character that seemed a bit off, as though the watchers couldn't get a good read on what his personality was. Also his reading the Book in front of the others was always off I have been trying to tell myself that it wasn't really the Book just something that looks like it but your idea makes a lot more sense. Even more so when later it seems as though Brain is opening the book for the first time when he looks for the memo.
An important question that is still around is Who killed Stralitzia and Why did they give the rule book to Ventus?
In my search for the answers I came across a interesting idea. Stralitzia never hears the bell that tells everyone the war is about to start. She also sees Ava the day before she dies. Yet Skud, Ephemar, and Brain all seem to agree that no one has seen Ava for days if not weeks before the bell rings. To me this says that Stralitzia may not have been killed on that day at all. The only reason I can think of for this not to be the case is what Elrena's Chirithy says about when they saw Stralitzia's chirithy last. This doesn't really say who killed her and it is true that the bell may have rang of screen at some point but it is something interesting I wished to share.
Ava, Vanitas, Darkness, are all people that could be the person. I have played with all of them and some others including Gula, and Luxu to see if they fit. However if fake Brain is real then I don't think he would be the killer. After all why make Ventus a Union Leader if your going to use Brain's likeness?
That really is the problem why did someone want Ventus to be a leader so bad that they killed a sweetie like Stralitzia, then most likely give Ventus some of her memories. Ventus when he first appears says that he didn't have friends before for basically the same reasons that Stralitzia give. He also says that Ava give him his rule book in the same place that she give Stralitzia's hers which is way I think Ventus had some of her memories. Still what is it about Ventus that makes him the better puppet leader then Stralitzia?
Anyway your theories are always well thought out. I was never really sure why Brain sometimes seemed like a very nice person like the rest of the leaders and other times kind of felt off. You where able a way to make it work even if their are many questions on how this is working, if Brain knows, or if Brain is just a two faced shady character and we are looking too deep into it. Keep up the good work.

It's definitely a interesting idea for sure. Depending on the next future events,this might explain a little bit about Vanitas origin story. It also might introduce a key factor for next Kingdom hearts storyline. Eather way only time will tell. 😉 As for me I think Ava it's Darkness itself but with Brain adding on the picture it can make a strong connection to her.

My biggest question about this is why and how the switch back to real brain happened, and where real Brain was the whole time
I had only thought of this like after publishing the video, but it's possible he was in the control room for a majority of the time. It would explain how he's up to date on all the information happening-- cause he can see it on the monitors. However, you'd think Brain would bring up the fact that he would see a doppelganger on the screen. So clearly, the theory still has pieces to work out LOL

Second of all, due to the release of the lastest actualization, couldn't it be that Brain's impersonator is another darkness? Darkness implies that there are plenty of them so, why wouldn't be many impersonators among the leaders at times we don't know?

Ava is not Darkness? That's a shame, would've been cool a revenge kinda of story with Ava, another theory that was probably better than canon.
We don't know for sure, all ReMind seems to imply is that Vanitas and Darkness may be connected ( which doesn't necessarily exclude Ava from the picture, it's possible both characters can be connected to Darkness ). But Darkness's true origin is yet to be revealed.
I'm glad I subscribed to this channel. I love how you present your theories. I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of kh theory vids but I do enjoy UnionX theories because they make me care more about UnionX than usual. I'd say your videos do that and then some

In terms of this theory, I always assumed Brain was putting up a front in cinematic cutscenes to distract the player from who might've actually replaced Strelitzia, and then as we the players begin to learn more on what's going on, Brain is starting to show his true intentions.

About what you comment in the minute 5:52, I think I know why Ava would read again the Book based on what Fake Brain does when the Union leaders enter the Foretellers's room for the first time.
When Fake Brain starts reading the Book, he quickly finds the page about Spirits and immediately decides to show it to the other leaders. And what's shadier is that he picks up a few tools from the room and sends 3 of the leaders on a mission to collect the materials needed to create those Spirits.
The real Brain trusts Ava and promised her to read the Book as little as posible, so why he didn't hesitate about whether it's convenient to show that page or not? Why isn't he confused when he finds it and why does he perfectly know what to do to create them?
This for me definitely supports your theory about Fake Brain being Ava. When the Master introduces the first Chirithy he made (a.k.a Player's Chirithy) to the Foretellers in Back Cover, none of the Foretellers knew what a Chirithy was. In fact, Gula asks: "Spirit?" when the Master refers to it as a "Spirit Chirithy" Now that I've watched your video I've realized that this could mean that in that specific moment in the KH timeline the Foretellers may not have received their copies of the Book yet and that this could be the reason why they don't know what a Chirithy is.
Moreover, Fake Brain says that Spirits can consume nightmares. In KH X (Chi) and Unchained X, Ava requested Player's Chirithy to protect him/her from nightmares so that "the wind can carry him/her far away" (a reference to the Dandelions) and in the same conversation she explained that Player is getting closer to the realm where Ephemer is because he/she got in touch with Ephemer through a dream.
Ava claimed that the world the Dandelions will travel to is a "world made of dreams" and in the aforementioned scene from BC, we can see the Dream Eaters's symbol on the back of this Chirithy, all these hints plus the fact that 5 years have gone by since the Keyblade War happened and despite that no one has aged point to what people already knew about the possibility that the Dandelions are in the Realm of Sleep (since real time doesn't flow in this realm according to Yen Sid)

Here's a theory based on zero fact: What if Ava and the others escaped to Yozoras worldline. And the "Stella" of that world is Ava. Ava's face has never been revealed and we know her color is pink. Well seen by the verum Rex trailer, "Stella" has pink hair.
A thought related to the Dandelions and Org XIII: So, Marluxia/Lauriam has the element of Death because his sister is the first chronological death we have in the series, so far. Since Luxord's element is Time, yet never uses it beyond health gimmicks, it would be safe to assume that he's a character related to the ark or someone we've never seen who's beyond/outside the "time" that we are familiar with.

All I can say is that's not a minor detail, there's at least another book related instance in the game and the book is different so why spark confusion using a the BoP as a placeholder?

Brain is definitely a confusing one. I’d say that there is just one Brain and he’s just a weird dude, but even the Character Files page for him has two different images of Brain.

About the character contradiction 2 and Ava rereading the book of prophecies.
Ava rereading the book isn't weird.
For example I'm a nerd and avid reader, I play DnD and love to read books but theres a difference between reading works of fiction and reading source materials. I could reread the Dresden files for the 5th time OR I could reread sections of the Dungeons and Dragons player's hand book for the 200th time to make sure I have the best character options available. The book of prophecies is effectively source material for the KH world.
In regards to the scene 911 - we're dealing with things as complex as fate and destiny vs time. If you read the BoP, you know the future and can act accordingly to change it BUT if you do then the BoP changes because time changed. Thats the paradox. It's in part why the Master of Masters didn't give Luxu a copy. Now lets go back to that scene. If thats not the real Brain in that room, but an imposter - they wont know the exact actions Brain would have taken if he was there because only Brain knows what Brain would do. Unless of course the imposter has some kind of script of how events played out there, like the BoP. Ava is reading the BoP there to make sure she understands what she has to do to not create a paradox.
So I don't see Ava rereading the book as an issue, Ava wants to make sure she understands the future, and her rereading it is actually more on realistic.

It even goes back to the recent flashback shown of Ava and Brain talking about the Book, and what happens if they defy what’s written inside-would it create a paradox? would it rewrite itself? I never thought of the possibility that Ava was checking to see if it worked. That may also be why she, if she’s the the virus, said “This world is heading for destruction, rewriting the Dandelions’ memories didn’t change that.” because she looked to see if she changed the book. I think there's only one Brain. Ava could gave him the task of test them as she had the idea of rewrite the events the Master predicted. Remembering Case of Ava, she had the role to gather the Dandelions to get more Lux. Player and Ephemer were tested once by Ava, meaning she could have make the decision of going against the Master prophecies way before. If the events are meant to repeat itself, nothing stops the plot of making a Nobody, Data or even an Unversed of Brain before, but the one that did get that treatment was Ventus (having Vanitas being made of the darkness he had deep within) and i think Vanitas could potentially be Darkness, as he wasn't on the list, it could come from the future and also ,in ReMind, Dakness talked to Sora when he went to help Ven.
With the Ark, we could imply (although not treat it fully as a fact with how little details he have) that there's no need for being a keyblade master to use it. Maleficent ended up returning on KHII with "another mindset" after she saw what was the past. The Ark could have potentially be built by Ava (as of what Luxu said), meaning those from that world could return. Memories of Ephemer, Skuld, Ventus, Lauriam and Elrena are on "Sora's timeline" (to call it someway), but none remembers Brain by name.

You theory seems extremely possible now with the reveal that Luxu looks like Brain, somehow. Just replace Ava with Luxu and everything point you made in the video can still apply.
I’ve actually been wondering if Brain was the first guise Luxu adopted to watch over the world and his Keyblade. The timeline may have been something along the lines of this, except the real Brain was present until he went to the control room, then while he was alone up there, Luxu ambushed him and did a Terranort. From then on, it’s been Brain on the outside, but Luxu on the inside, posing as Brain and making sure things go according to his plan.

Kronsi I do think we’ll get answers from Dark Road. When it’s creation was first teased by Nomura in the announcement board within KHUX, he referred to it as “mind boggling” so something crazy is bound to happen in it. As for Maleficent, yes I do believe it’s her, and I talk more about her in Ava is in Incognito as Darkness, so I recommend you watch that if you haven’t yet.

I have no way of backing this up, but a thought occurred to me. What if Luxu split Brain into a human Heartless and Nobody. We have only seen an example of a human Heartless with Ansem SOD and we do not know the requirements for having a human heartless. However, Luxu saying to Brain, What if you could lead two lives, makes me think about how Xehanort lead 2 lives using his Heartless and Nobody

it would make sense that if ava was posing as brain that she was reading the book as soon as finding it on the desk because she was checking to see if there was any difference in the master of master's copy of the book is different then the one she had

Honestly, I personally still think it's Luxu. I understand what people are talking about when they say that character has a girlish figure, but Luxu is just the only character still around confirmed to be wearing a black coat. By the sound of his reports, he should be entering the picture any day now to talk to Maleficent, making him more relevant to the story again. BUT I mean, I'm not willing to die on that hill or anything, I'm very much open minded to other ideas on who that is.

Hmmm... I think it makes sense for Ava to hurry to read the book. They (Ava and Brain) discussed about how the changed future may change what's written in the BOP. So if this is right, she should read the "new" book as fast as she can so she can see what happends now. It would also make sense if she also is darkness, since Ava might have see something strange in the book, and then decide to go as Darkness (falling into "the abyss" in desperation" in order to change things again and save all the children.
I may be looking too far into it, but it still makes sense for me with your axioms.
