I just recently replayed this in proud mode and was reminded of kh3 and it's connection and thought wait They actually came here somehow from the future and ended up in the real daybreak town they even came twice once in story and the scenario for the moogle keyblade lol they obviously came for a reason
This scene is actually referenced in the official chi novel. The person watching over mickey is described as 'a foreteller' but it's not specified which one.

Scala has Daybreak Town's tower underwater, so maybe Daybreak Town turned into Scala at some point. And when Mickey visits Scala with Donald and Goofy, they somehow wander off through time and space to get to Daybreak Town.
Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking is possible, except they have the gummi ship, which implies it would have happened on the way there instead or something

I've always been so confused about how the world of X works (due to things like Mickey, Donald, and Goofy appearing) so this video really helped and blew my mind!
This video lives rent free in my head. I can't stop thinking about why Mickey is there, and cannot wait to (hopefully) get to see his perspective of these events in a future game.
I'm glad that you addressed this, you were quite thorough too, which I appreciate. When I originally saw this, I also thought it meant something, but I gave up on it cos after years it never seemed relevant. Then Melody came out and I thought maybe it does have meaning, but I'd forgotten most of the quest so I couldn't connect the specifics. Thanks for the summary, it was useful even for someone like me who just needed a refresher
There's one detail about this scene that stands out to me, and that's the fact that Mickey is wielding the Star Seeker, not the Star Cluster. I see no reason as to why he'd use it if this scene happened after the events of MoM (since apparently the Star Cluster is the fusion of the Kingdom Key D and the Star Seeker), but it could just be some kind of red herring.
Maybe there's something like a Timeless River portal on Scala ad Caelum. A time portal that specifically only goes back to Day Break Town.
This scene where mickey, Donald and goofy go into the union cross era makes more sense now. And the whole invi thing, I had no idea that was there, I thought it was just for scene transitioning reasons. If this was supposedly taken place before the events of kh1 it would have been no surprise that mickey was being a colossal, vague little rat as he was in the fragmentary passage game; same goes for Donald and goofy when they 'instantly remembered' about the unversed when they fought them with sora in the monsters Inc world in kh3. But this theory makes a lot more sense, they could have traveled to the past and not know it hence time flows differently in all realms
Great Video! I have a couple of theories of own about the Disney Worlds in Kingdom Hearts. It’s always been weird, because Disney characters has been around in the Union stories. It’s almost like the Disney stories are being retold. Characters being used to forge history in a way. These fairyland worlds projected through time. In the perspective as a “player”, you just think is just paying homage for Disney worlds. Then you have the Dark Road, where Xehanort and his friends visit Wonderland as the first world, just like Sora did. So what is the true background of Disney Worlds. You go to the control room where Mom, and Luxu talks and you see a bunch of computer screens in the background. And Now Mom is in Quadratum, to control another universe
I have a theory that's along the lines of what you're saying, but I don't have it entirely thought out yet.. It's along the lines of the MoM being the "author of all", as I like to call it. But idk.. I'd really have to think about that one lol

Judging by Donald's reaction to the player wielding a Keyblade, it makes the most sense for their journey through time to take place post KH3, considering prior to and even in the early game of KH1 they knew literally nothing about the Keyblade other than Mickey's orders to "find the key".

I still cannot understand how it can be possible for Mickey Donald and Goofy to reach Daybreak Town in the past since two of them are not keyblades weilders and all of them have no real connection with that time. But for sure this is connected with what we knew at the end of Melody of Memories. Would be cool if he meets with Ventus in my opinion!!!
I feel like they'll do something similar to re:coded and have Mickey turn the book of prophecies to data like they did with Jiminys journal so he can look into the events of daybreak town. Either that or it will be similar to how Malificient got there in Union X. Can't wait for the next update!!! 😁

I was playing proud mode, earlies this day and I noticed this too. I was wondering how Mickey and the bunch were at that time. And still have that weird encounter in KH1, when they meet Sora.
The only reason i can see chipp and dale being with Mickey is because after KH3 they may have developed some new star travel technology that allows them warp travel to the past briefly before they would need to return
Mickey in Daybreak can be the key that brings Master Of Masters into the upcoming games, Sora and Riku are not going to be dealing with him as they are dealing with Yozora. Also it would make sense for Invi to be watching and Mickey could end up being the real virus of Daybreak town. Also theres another mystery.

Makes sense. Truthfully I had almost forgotten about Mickey, Donald and Goofy going to Daybreak town because at the time I couldn't explain it. I did know that it was most likely important but the pieces where adrift so long that I forgot about them. Your explanation is very nice and I will most likely believe that is what is happening until the games either disprove it or I hear a different theory that makes more sense.
Invi being connected to Mickey does mean that she will most likely be the foreteller that he has to deal with the most in the future. Which seeing as I was having some trouble thing of things Invi will do now that she is in the future goes give me a pointer an where to look. Though it is also true that with the in game scene being so vague they might change it to someone else. I am not saying that they will but I can see something like that happening before it is truly sent in stone.
I think the white robes is referring to a new group, the same robes strelitzia was wearing when marluxia was dreaming of her.

Besides Chirithy knowing that Mickey is the King. He has power of dreams. Ofcourse dreams if the partner is on the bright state of mind and positive. If not it's nightmare... well who than anyone as Micky with the same state of mind of dreams to become true so Chirithy made it real.
And not only that!
Chirithy was on the Final world with Sora and he whispered he would like to meet with his friend and whispered the name to the ear of Sora. And at the END of KH3 HE WENT TO VENTUS!!

I think Chirithy has the power like Namine and work with the minds of the people. Just like when the player fought 1 of the foretellers for the first time and then nobody remembers.

Chirithy is with his partner (us) not becouse of the partners suppost creation. It's thanks to the Masters of Masters and they work with him. They have shown they want to manipulate somehow the player (us) to their goals. And obviosly to remain on "the bright side and not turn into Nightmares. 🤔
Chirithy once say to the other Chirithy before the other Chirithy "turns in to a nightmare" that they have some kind of mission and their mission it's everything was going good but they are worried something bad will happend if they are not carefull...
Maybe they want to keep the lie to becouse if the true of whats real and happening would make the person go evil, dark, and make the Chirithy we know a Nightmare...

If it is time travel, perhaps it works similar to when Pete time-traveled to the Timeless River. Even though you cross over into the past as if it were simply its own world, your actions actually affect the past.
Another interesting thing to note is that Mickey at the time (and Donald and Goofy, too, if their non-royal clothes really count) was in his --AT THE TIME-- CURRENT outfit. At the time this event was released, none of the characters had their KH3 designs made, yet. (I think.) It could easily be changed in a future release that he was in his KH3 outfit.
Now, to the point-- If he was really just a projection by the Book of Prophecies, wouldn't he be wearing his BBS attire to match with him using the Star Shard to travel around?
The KINGDOM HEARTS Teams are 99 percent of the time ALWAYS on the up-and-up when it comes to characters having the correct outfits to correspond with the time period. The only errors are I think one or two cutscenes of Donald and Goofy wearing the wrong clothing in BBS, as well as a couple minor continuity errors that went with them, and I think there's one other instance in the series somewhere, too. There's also the fact that Chip and Dale were riding with him, and the fact that all of this is happening in the first place, like you mentioned.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to know where Timeless River fits into all this.

@@NextGenNovelist I'm watching again and something that occurs to me is that there seems to be an underlying difference in how Disney characters can move through worlds vs human characters, even when Pete time traveled, it wasn't anything like how it is for humans. It's kind of odd that except for a small handful of characters, it's all humans defending the light, while the vast majority of Disney characters stay in their worlds, which kind of doesn't make sense (outside of "protecting the world order"), considering how powerful some of them are. I know that probably wasn't explained well, but with "unreality" on the horizon, it makes me wonder what makes the Disney worlds so different from the human worlds.
One thing I don't like about that particular line by Donald is he says "masked figure in white robes" the only one we saw so far that fits the white robes description would be Strelitzia. The foretellers have more colour (pink, purple, gold) in their robes. Anyways, thanks for reminding me of these scenes and that shadowy figure in the Mickey scene. Looks like Nomura explained it a bit more in the Melody of Memory end scene.
Nah he's 100% talking about the Foretellers. Streletzia is still alive at this point and the only person who saw her in a white coat was Lauriam in his dream/flashback and that's way after this. And you're welcome! 😁
What if the reason Invi is all shadowy is because it isn't actually Invi? What if that is actually Darkness disguised as Invi to avoid catching anyone's attention? Darkness could disguise themself as Ava and does exist by the time of Melody of Memory. What if somehow Darkness in the present managed to drag the Gummi ship back to the past but only for a short time?
Im convinced MoM is light personified. Im also convinced that when he disappeared he did something along the lines of a light version of heartless/nobody turning into Yen Sid and Merlin alike. Yen Sid is a keyblade master, so whered his keyblade go? He gave it to Luxu. Also Yen Sid forges new keyblades for Riku, and Mickey, and the only person known to be able to CREATE keyblades was MoM. In KH3 the ONLY time you see Yen Sid anywhere but seated in his chair is in the Keyblade graveyard when he descends from the sky as a ball of light then uses light to part the sea of darkness like friggin Moses. I think Nomura wanted us to be reminded of Moses in that scene. Also in KH3 one of the loading screens is Mickey saying "the second youre not looking Master Yen Sid's tower pops up someplace new. Who'd have thought he has a playful side?" Well in KHUX Chirithy narrator says "in the Master' playful and mischievous way he gave his apprentice, Luxu, a very important role." I dont think thats a coincidence either. BOTH Yen Sid AND Merlin just CREATED worlds outside of the normal constraints of time for every other world in the realm of light. That right there explains where MoM could have disappeared to. Merlin's bag of infinite space is (presumably) a lot like the black box. In KH3 when you meet up with merlin at the bistro he says "this side of Big Ben". I believe that to be very intentional because obviously Big Ben is in London IRL. Quadratum is modeled after Shabuya in Tokyo. Was Merlin teasing that he's been to "unreality"? I think so. At the very least i believe Yen Sid at the very least knew MoM because of the two most obvious clues that should be slapping every KH junkie in the face: the first is the skull with the melting candle ontop is on both Yen Sid's AND MoM's desk, and the most damning of all is Yen Sid's book thats always open with wierd symbols that look an awful lot like any sneek peak we ever got at the Book of Prophecies. NOT TO MENTION in KH2 he lets you read its 3 sections: The Beginning, Interlude, and The FUTURE STORY!!!! YEN SID HAS A BOOK OF FRIGGIN PROPHECIES! Which would explain why Yen Sid was so obsessed with Sora obtaining the Power of Waking so he can further his plot in Quadratum! It didnt have anything to do with waking Ventus. Riku had the power of waking the whole damn time. He could have done it. One last point: as far as I know the only characters to ever say "may your heart be your guiding key" are ones that have ties to the age of fairytales, yet Yen Sid utters it right before they depart for the keyblade graveyard in KH3, and at the very beginning Goofy says he always used to say it. Im sure i could find many other small reasons why I believe Yen Sid (and possibly Merlin as well) IS the Master of Masters. At the very least I think (unless Nomura does something stupid) its pretty undeniable Yen Sid is, or was, intimately intertwined with MoM.
If you actually read this whole comment please let me know what you think about my theory! Add some supporting clues, or point out holes and flaws! As far as i can tell theres only one youtube video about this theory, but its not very in depth or compelling, and i would LOVE to see some attention brought to the points ive made here! quest number 60 is the mickey part and quest 35 is the part of donald andd goofy the first time i did thoses quests i felt confused now i understand that mickey and his companions travel back in time with his shard he has that phrase the star shard not work is a lie....
Along with the other comments people have added, I just wanted to say there was actually another moment that makes more sense that this event could have happened and even match the outfit.
Between KH2 and DDD. Donald and goofy reunited with mickey at the end of 2 and stayed with him even during the events of DDD, as shown they were together in Re:coded. What happens if Mickey somehow ended up there while investigating before or after coded with them?
I just put this as a suggestion because it makes much more sense than before KH1 because Donald and goofy aren't too well known with the keyblade and the only one they know is Mickey (and maybe master Yen Sid) so it's hard to believe they'll recognize it that easy. And in general, it just seems to farfetched that this took place before KH1. I'm not saying this isn't a possibility however.
But I do agree that it makes the most sense after melody of memory, albeit they would have to explain mickey using star seeker again (and maybe his change to kh2 outfit) but I feel it's minor and could be easily explained.
I'd be cool with that. I don't mind when it takes place, it just seems to make the most sense it'd be after Melody of Memory because of Mickey's whole "I need to look into something" line, and Invi watching him, idk it just seems like an unresolved moment that will be revisited in some way. The outfit and keyblade is deffo an issue, which Nomura could easily explain. Like imagine we saw the gameplay for DDD out of context, most people would never assume it's set after KH2 because Sora and Riku have their KH1 looks, and yet it is. But I forgot about that time between KH2 and DDD cos I often forget about Coded tbh lol, so thanks for the reminder

You’re probably right. There has to be more to that meeting. But a big question is how he arrived at that time. After all as far as we know you need to have something tying you to the past in order to travel back in time.
I honestly don’t mind there being an alternative method of time travel just to freshen things up a bit.
I'm checking my copy of The Kingdom Hearts light Novel adaptation to see if it's in there.

A quick nother theory or something to think about, maybe Mickey and 'Yozora' are switched, I noticed at about 5:00 that considering Yozora is referred to as Commander, in reality Noctis, is King/Majesty. Iunno if you get where im going but mickey and yozora have the same style clothes this time around so we getting somewhere lmfno

But it's funny cos around the time you would have posted this, I had literally just found out about that translation, but when I mentioned her grandmother in this video, I didn't know about it just yet lol. And I appreciate the kind words! I try to make my theories be based on as much canon as possible, but I won't deny sometimes headcanon is required. Hopefully you'll enjoy the next video, it's got evidence like the translation and stuff but I feel like it's quite head-canony compared to some of my other stuff

I’ve had the same thought, there’s really no other explanation for those missions that makes sense. Only kink in the theory is that Mickey is wearing his kh2 outfit rather than his kh3 outfit but that could be easily worked around. His kh3 outfit would give it away and probably wasn’t designed yet anyhow. By the way, do you happen to know the mission number the Mickey scenes start? I’m having trouble finding the scenes
Now, I have not played union cross, KH3, or melody of memories, so I don't know the whole lore completely. However, something Mickey says seems odd in terms of the "time" he supposedly may have come from. He says, "Oh no, there is darkness in this world too, and keyblade wielders too". Now the first part of that sentence sounds like a KH1 mindset where Mickey has left the castle on his own to learn why things are happening the way they are. However, we know that Donald and Goofy show up in this scene, and according to KH1, the two would not have met up with Mickey at that time until KH2. I agree with your theory about when Mickey and co. may have shown up (though am having trouble wrapping my head around it), however what is not clear to me is how Mickey seems to be surprised about darkness being there upon his arrival. In short, isn't it supposed to be the case that all the worlds in KH has been affected by darkness by the time of post KH2?
The one thing that doesn't make sense in this whole thing is why they're wearing their KH2 clothes
One question I have about this is. If he ended in daybreak town after M.O.M., wouldn't his keyblade be the Kingdom Key D?
Either it's an inconsistency that'll be corrected by Nomura later, or whatever sent him to Daybreak town forced his appearance/Keyblade to be changed, like it did with Sora and Riku in DDD (I know that was dreams, but maybe something similar is going on)

Amazing theory, this does make alot of sense tbh, can't believe we forgot about this random part in union cross, I think in-between the time mickey says he has to look into something, til the time he gets back to the remade gummi ship. Mickey had to encounter someone for the chirithy know who mickey was, im pretty sure they meet up sometimes and talk. Plus I don't know if I'm looking into it abit to much but it looks like mickey was rushing back or running from something when he returned to the ship. What do you think? I think he either met invi or luxu In this time. Do you think the foretellers even know about scala ad caelum existing? One more thing, do you think the stars in the final world are the dandelions?
He may have been rushing from something, or just hurrying before the gummi ship broke apart again. If the Foretellers didn't know about Scala they will now. And I never considered that about the Dandelions, but I think that's plausible

Is it possible that the other world they're referring to is the keyboard graveyard in KH3, it kinda fits since that's basically the first and last time we see them since UX. And is it possible that they accidentally crossed over to Daybreak town since joshua said something about each world existing in their own time(haven't caught up with DDD much)
Thank you. I preached that this moment was important but everyone kept saying "book of prophecies". It makes sense that this would've taken place after he visited Scala and learned whatever. Which leads him to Daybreak Town. How Donald & Goofy got there is unclear. However, i do have an unpopular 'idea' that makes it all still make sense: Yensid has been working with Mom this whole time. I also think everybody is wearing black coats, even Sora :)

As interesting as this is, there is only one problem with your theory: Mickey's outfit. He's wearing his KH2 outfit. Maybe he'll change outfits for KH4, but it messes with your timeline a bit, since he doesn't have the star shard anymore in KH2 and wouldn't be searching for clues to the unreality at that point otherwise. But it's a great theory that works well otherwise, it always bugged me that we don't know what Mickey is doing in the ancient past.
But Mickey Has the Star seeker key blade. So I think it’s probably non canon or else he was have the kingdom Key D
Oh by the way I was rewatching this video (cause it is so interesting) and I just noticed one other SUPER important detail! Did you notice which keyblade is Mickey holding in these cutscenes??? It is the "Star Seeker" keyblade and not the Kingdom Key D or his third keyblade that he uses at the end of KH3. Maybe this is an error or maybe they didn't think that Mickey would have had a new keyblade by that time. But I found this thing interesting enough
What if this daybreak town isn't the real daybreak? This is Invi's daybreak town but her version of it? Who is to say that there is only one data daybreak town there could be many data daybreaks each managed by its own foreteller and Mickey landed in Invis world by chance that's why she appears watching over the player and Mickey sort of like how roxas was in his own data world and axel found a way into that data world or how current maleficent landed in the dandelions data daybreak. The foretellers never died they just went into a data world like the dandelions. It would also mean why your player character can choose different groups to join you're just joining that foreteller data world and its just in a loop.The real player character lost its heart It became a nobody in others words xehanort, since brain has no keyblade now he inherits no name,ephemer lost his heart and became dark inferno because Luxu took over his body, like how xehanort took over terras body, and became the first vessel for Luxu, the master defender went back to brain which could explain how the master defender ended up with eraqus, brain gave eraqus the master defender just as how Odin who possibly is the owner of no name at the time gives xehanort no name because Odin is actually Luxu and then at some point Luxu takes over bragis body and becomes braig ends up I'm radiant garden which is why he probably knows that ava is kairis grandma and then kingdom hearts 1 starts

No that's what some people have pointed out. He has star seeker, and he was last seen in this outfit in Re:coded. I'm not sure what to make of that other than it'll be retconned (which it easily could be), or there'll be some sort of explanation for it. But I'm sure this scene will end up being tied to the future, it seems odd for it not to considering it lines up well with Mickey's current mission

As someone has already commented, the outfits/keybaldes are just one of those KH inconsistencies that'll have to be retconned or explained later, Nomura could easily just have Mickey change outfits and keyblades, or it could be whatever took him to daybreak town forced his appearance to change, like with Sora and Riku in DDD

He could have easily switched outfits or something, but tbh it's likely an inconsistency that Nomura will have to explain, its not like KH doesn't have a bunch that have led to rectons already. Changing his outfit wouldn't be much of a leap

@@josemontero4316 i guess its more like that his future anti-darkness outfit is not supposed to exist there such as the keyblade of darkness which is fused with the keyblade he has in the cutscene. i suppose those are the things that changed when mickey entered this world. seeing those things mightt create some paradoxes
