  • This video details my progress in week number 17 of my Carnivore journey. That's 119 days without sweeteners, bread, pasta, rice, beans, legumes, packaged food products of any kind, and no soda (only water and green tea).
As a type 2 diabetic, my goal is to use the Carnivore diet/lifestyle to reverse my Type 2 diabetes. This means my primary goal is not weight loss (although I'd like to get down to 155 lbs if I had my druthers) but lowering and stabilizing my blood sugar with an A1C target of 5.5 (average fasting glucose of less than or equal to 110), reaching a "normal" triglycerides and cholesterol level, and increasing my HDL cholesterol so that I can live a drug-free lifestyle as I move forward toward retirement where food acts as my pharmaceuticals and helps my body stave off the ailments that often come with old age.
I have added some approximate time codes below if you want to skip any sections.

I would definitely get rid of cheese to see if that would get rid of the rash.

@janetw7828 Thanks for watching and commenting. Right now I am trying once-a-day Zyrtec to see if this is a histamine intolerance issue (this was recommended by the Dermatologist who performed the skin biopsy). I already tried the Topicort ointment without success. If neither work, I will stop eating cheese and see if I see any improvement.

Well done! I'm very similar type II motivated. I took metformin, then Trulicity for 18 months, Keto since July 22...mostly carnivore for a year. Similar results as far as losing belly girth, more than weight. A1C from 10.6 to 5.7 in three months of Keto. I came off all diabetes meds 8 months ago.. I'm surprised for all the details of labs and measurements that you've given that you did not report your fasting INSULIN level. A few years into this I'd suggest that's the true measure of metabolic health. Your goal is to be trending towards an ideal level of (2-6), over 25 is diabetes. Your fasting glucose, and A1c both measure glucose. It does not measure the more damaging fructose levels and will give you a better metric to track your (healing) levels of insulin resistance. Hyperinsulinemia is sort of like always driving your car in second gear. You CAN go 70 mph in second gear. It probably won't kill the engine one time or even in a few weeks. But no mechanic would recommend it the long term health of your engine. I have Dr. Ken Berry book common sense labs. When I had to pay a few hundred dollars for the extra ones I was cynical thinking it doesn't matter what it says I'm just going to keep eating meat. In hindsight the information gained was WELL worth the cash and now it's so simple to pick your own labs without needing a doctor. Best wishes on your continued journey of healing.

@genuineimpulse9134 Thanks for watching and for your comments. Your concern is appreciated. At my 90-day mark on Carnivore I had both my C-Peptide and my Fasting Insulin tested as per Dr. Ken Berry's suggestion. My C-Peptide came in at 2.9 and my Fasting Insulin at 8.2. Both within the normal range. This established my baseline for these 2 blood tests. I will have these checked each time I have blood drawn to understand the long-term trendline for each.

If you are having a histamine reaction you may want to consider looking into low histamine foods. I have the same issue and have had to eliminate all forms of pork and dairy. Both are very high in histamines. Just an idea. I am T2D as well as Histamine overload and using carnivore to control as well.

@marseeya66 Thanks for the tip. I will consider it...I assume since you stated all forms of pork, that includes bacon. The 2 things I would have a really hard time is eliminating is bacon and cheese. I have bacon virtually every day and the only dairy I consume is cheese (like Feta, Dubliner, & White American). Are you including butter in dairy?
      Thanks again!

As far as the histamine bump to your blood sugar. If it helps you sleep it's worth it for that little increase.

@genuineimpulse9134 Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it doesn't help me sleep. That said I did an extended fast earlier this week (43:24:33) and that helped drop my numbers. The short term numbers (

Definitely be wary of using topical steroids for too long. They can cause your skin to thin out a lot.
