  • This video details my progress in week number 23 of my Carnivore journey.
As a type 2 diabetic, my goal is to use the Carnivore diet/lifestyle to reverse my Type 2 #diabetes. This means my primary goal is not #weightloss (although I'd like to get down to 155 lbs) but lowering and stabilizing my #bloodsugar with an #A1C target of 5.5, reaching a "normal" #triglycerides and #cholesterol level, and increasing my #HDL cholesterol so that I can live a drug-free lifestyle as I move forward toward #retirement where #food replaces my pharmaceuticals and helps my body stave off the #ailments that often come with old age.
This is a new format I am trying. My basic update is first. This is followed by a bonus, #WhatIEatOnCarnivoreForAWeek (#CarnivoreForAWeek) extended cut.
I have added some approximate time codes below if you want to skip any sections.

I never considered putting my cast iron pan on the grill. I'll have to try that. Using it inside makes a terrible mess. :)

@jsfarrow69 Thanks for watching and commenting. Using a cast iron skillet works great on an outdoor gas or charcoal grill. You will need to preheat it for ~10 minutes to get it smoking hot to get a good sear on a reverse sear steak. 2-3 minutes per side with about 15-20 seconds for each edge and you get a great steak. Then let the skillet cool down, run it under hot water to wash away the extra grease (maybe use a spatula to remove any particulates like spices that may have stuck to the pan), wipe down with a paper towel, heat on the stove to remove extra moisture, place inside your oven on a rack to cool down, and you are ready to go again... :)
