I’ve got the early 2017, they added CarPlay in late 2017. The murano stereo/gps looks like it’s from 2001. Good choice going with the Platinum. I have the SV and it’s weak. This video is huge. Hope I can get this to work.

I was wondering if it acted just like those old install CDs that are ejected after software gets installed. Thx in advance for clarifying this, I’ve been wanting CarPlay on my 2016 Murano for awhile
@abunaionnanoko59 I think you’ve asked the SD card question in a couple of places. Leave it in. You have no reason to remove it. As far as Bluetooth, I haven’t had a reason to test it. CarPlay supersedes the need for it in my opinion.

@@maxwell017 Yes. I had some initial concerns, so I decided to reach out to several individuals on Facebook who had shared their experiences on the company's page. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance.

Hi tech winner, thanks for this video. I bought the download and it’s working great, no regrets. My question is: is there a wireless connection for it that you are aware of that works with the Xanavi system? Thank you.
It's been a few weeks, have you had any issues with it? Software crashes or anything? How is the responsiveness of carplay on this display? My wife has a 2015 Murano and I have an early 2017 Murano just before the car play update was added. My friend got a 2021 Rogue yesterday and his car play works great. Thinking about doing this to our cars now. Thanks!
I'm a few weeks in now, and I'd say that it's been working GREAT! The screen is very responsive, so no complaints there. The only quirk I'd mention is that sometimes after I've started the car, I have to unplug my phone and plug it back in to get Carplay to begin working. Not a huge quirk for me, and it could just as easily be a lightning cable problem as it is the software. I haven't taken the time to try a different cable because it hasn't been a big deal to me, but worth at least mentioning.
@@TechWinnerCC Got it thanks! I reached out to them via Facebook for a price. We're still trying to decide if it's worth the upgrade. Maybe we'll get a deal for doing 2 cars at once.
Awesome! I just bought, but the instructions using a Mac are confusing. Is it as simple as dragging the files into the formatted SD card? Trying to find out before I try the install. This is super helpful- thx for the video.
At this point, I'm a bit fuzzy on what I did (I'm sorry, this was almost a year and a half ago). I seem to remember that just dragging the files won't work, because they're also being converted to a file format that the car can understand. I'm primarily a Mac user as well, but ended up blowing the dust off of an old Windows machine to do this. I'm sorry that I can't be more help. I will say that the guy I interacted with at Xanavi was very helpful!
@@TechWinnerCC he just got back to me- I think I found the solution- my SD card went corrupt after I tried reformatting it as my own means of troubleshooting. I was trying to copy the images of the download file instead of the .img file itself. Silly, but now I’ll get a new card and fingers crossed it works this time on the Mac. Don’t have access to windows easily. I grew tho- good communication of the company and you too! Thx again.
Thank you very much for putting this tech and your experience with it out there. My only question is if your phone connects wirelessly to the headunit to control Carplay/Auto? I know using the Aux connection doesn't have enough juice to charge the phone while connected, so I'm hoping the phone doesn't need to be hooked up to that to use this.
@GargoyleA2 I am experiencing any issues with phone calls after installation. I installed it and everything seemed good except the infotainment system freezes after receiving a call. Can you confirm if anyone has reported using a successful wireless adapter for the 2016 Nissan Murano xanavi Carplay configuration that's a non-factory build? I got one online but it was not compatible hoping someone else had success with a wireless adaptor?
Personally, I have not had any luck getting a wireless adapter to work. I’ve heard from others who have had a similar experience. Sorry, I wish I had better news for you.
@@TechWinnerCC Ok, 1 last follow up question, their website just gives a 500 Server Error when trying to order, how do you recommend getting in touch with them?
Over a year ago someone posted on their Facebook webpage that their head unit reboots occasionally with the new firmware. Have you noticed any reboots? Thx
I seem to remember that being advised, but I didn’t do it. If your battery is healthy I don’t believe you’re at real risk of damaging anything. Running the engine is the safest way to prevent a power drop though.

I don't believe any updates have been made to this particular software. I believe AA is similar to Carplay in that it's really up to your phone's OS to add any new changes/enhancements to AA itself.
I want to purchase the software, but when I placed the order it will not go through. I see others were able to purchase. Can you check or I must be during something wrong. Help!!
Hey! Is this still working as of 7/15/2022? I recently purchased a 2016 Nissan Maxima SL and obviously want to add CarPlay. Do you think there’s any chance this will crash at some point or screw up the OEM software? I just don’t want to brick my system if something goes wrong you know. Thanks!
Still working perfectly. I didn’t go into detail on the video, but “rolling back” to the OEM software is as simple as removing the SD card that’s storing the new software.
Does the update also provide the newest factory maps possible or just the CarPlay feature? I’m wondering how things will work for the times you’re driving and you lose cellphone reception
I believe the maps are newer, but I’m not certain on the actual dates. Honestly, I hate the native map UI so much that I never use it. If I were somewhere out of cell range, I’d just use Google maps. I have large portions of my region downloaded for offline use just for this scenario. Xanavi should be able to confirm the particular release date for the built in maps.
I bought a used 2015 murano a year ago and paid ($109 on sale) for the official navteq maps update sd card. It's a waste of money. You'd think there'd be new road segments or poi's or some ui updates. Maybe. But the navi still sux. We bought a 2017 subaru outback a few months later also. Their nav is just as bad. Maybe worse. But sub's update was smooth and less than 10 mins the nissan was this constant back n forth for like 45 mins. The battery got drained running in ON/ACC mode all that time and, (suprise) my alternator died a few days later.
Yeah, generally speaking car makers aren’t great at making navigation interfaces. In newer cars, they’ve all wised up to just deferring to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I see built in navigation as a stop gap to a problem that ultimately Apple and Google solved.
Nice! I don’t use Sirius XM on a regular basis, but the preview channel works fine. I believe the issue you’ve mentioned was addressed a long time ago with the version I installed a year ago.
So I did this! Best $$ I’ve spent. Process was flawless. Great communication with seller. I have factory CarPlay and all other features work just as they did
Hey Techwinner, quick followup question on this firmware. I have 2017.5 Murano with Carplay but I use Android. Google is abandoning the Android Auto phone app in favor of including most of its features within Google Driving Assistant in Android 12 (which I'm running). Before I buy this, I'd like to know if the firmware will work as it did with AA app. Vlad doesn't seem to know. By chance, are you using Android 12 and can you confirm or test whether the firmware still operates same as with AA app? Thanks for the info and your help!
Hi! Thanks for this info, been looking everywhere! Just a quick question. The software download onto the card, does that include a maps update? I just want to make sure that my gps will still function without my phone.
I just bought as used 2017 Rogue SL. It really bums me out, with all the technology these days, that they haven't come up with something to be able to make use of the "infotainment" aspect with my android phone. It has the Google and Facebook screen, but when I push it it says remove and replace SD card. There's no SD card in it! Could it be as simple as getting the SD card and having it programmed via Xanavii?
there is homebutton missing on the screen and also how do you activate siri?? am sure there are more compromises and shortcuts that are missing. It's probably slower than the original as well because it goes through the SD card
Not sure what you mean about the home button. The carplay design changed in iOS 15. The control you're seeing on the lower left corner of the screen is the home button, but you're right it looks different than the old school home button. That's an Apple change, it has nothing to do with this install. Siri can be activated via either "hey siri" or the little "talking head" button on the steering wheel. As far as speed, I don't have much to compare it to, but these units aren't known for having fast storage (many have internal SD cards that are only accessible via a teardown), so I'm reluctant to say that you're giving much up going this route. On the contrary, I didn't have to deal with ripping apart my dash and spending more for new hardware, so at least for me this was the better option. Thanks for commenting!
@@TechWinnerCC thanks for explaining in detail. u re right i missed the new home button look. at this point am just concerned about the speed.am glad siri can still be activated through steering wheel. as long as its responsive as the native unit, should be good. i might buy today
Not sure what you mean. I’ve only updated my Murano to enable CarPlay this one time, but it’s continuing to work after each iOS update, if that’s what you mean.
Release notes say that it does. I know that was an issue on earlier releases. I can see/hear the free preview channel, but I don’t subscribe to satellite radio, so I haven’t done an in depth test.
hello I would like to know if it works with murano 2015 I live in Quebec, because according to the information it says usa, Eu, Korea. and how much does it cost approximately? Thanks a lot
I’m not certain of they have a CA-FR version of that’s what you’re asking. I would advise you to contact Xanavi to confirm. I’m just a customer as well. :) I don’t think the US version includes CA maps. That might not matter to you if you’re using CarPlay/Android Auto. The price is currently $300USD.
I just wanna know after installing their software does the infotement system works smoothly and boots fast as it was before or it is slower? also does Bose system works! because I believe Platinum comes with Bose sound system. I have a 2016 maxima and I wanna try this
I’ve been using it for several months and I have zero complaints. To be fair, I didn’t use it for very long on the old software, so I may not have as solid of a before/after comparison as you, but I have zero complaints with lag.
@@TechWinnerCC thank you for your quick reply. I have just contacted the guy and he explained me the process. but I do wanna ask you few questions if you have few minutes to help me out since you have already done it. 1- does Bose audio sound same as before? 2- when you turn on the car, the screen boots up same as factory or it takes time? 3- does your parking sensor make sound as before or its lower? 4- before installation, you have to remove ur factory sd card and install the new sd card with img file right, once the installation starts and its done. do I have to remove the sd card or it should remain inside until I see the barcode? and what should I do with factory sd card?
1. I Don't have a good answer for you on this. My wife primarily drives this car, and we did the upgrade pretty quickly after buying the car. I'm not an audiophile nor do I blast music, but I think it sounds good. 2. Same as above. It's happening in a matter of seconds. I haven't sat in the car and consciously thought, "this is taking forever to load". 3. Yes, sensors and backup / 360 cams work perfectly. 4. The new SD card will stay in the Murano. If you take it out, the head unit reverts back to the original software. Kinda nice to know that you have a "downgrade" option I suppose. I have the factory card sitting in my desk drawer :)
@@TechWinnerCC Thank you so much for your time to answer my questions. I have purchased it and waiting for my car to test it. My only concern was can I revert back to factory software, if by removing the SD card it will revert to original then that is awesome.
I have a 2016 Murano SL. Do the native settings buttons still function? Can you still switch from Car Play to XM radio by hitting the car's Audio button? If so, how do you return to Car Play?
Yes, it all works. I’m not in the car at the moment, so I’m not remembering how the buttons are labeled. The middle button on the bottom of the screen takes you to the main menu. From there, the button on the upper right that’s usually something like “multimedia” becomes a CarPlay button.
I don’t believe that’s an option, as they’re based out of Eastern Europe. It would just add cost and wait times. Might be worth reaching out and asking them though.

@@maxwell017 Yes. I had some initial concerns, so I decided to reach out to several individuals on Facebook who had shared their experiences on the company's page.
It's been over a year now, and it has been working seamlessly for me. Occasionally, I do experience disconnections with CarPlay, but it's not due to any software issues. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance.

Hi tech winner, thanks for this video. I bought the download and it’s working great, no regrets. My question is: is there a wireless connection for it that you are aware of that works with the Xanavi system?
Thank you.
Not one that I’m aware of, unfortunately.
If you use Android Auto you can buy an Motorola MA1 adapter that lets you connect wirelessly.
For nissan qashqai 2018?
Want to get it‼️ I have a murano platinum 2015. Pleaser help me where to buy it?

I have my phone connected to the aux jack. At least in my experience, it’s sending enough juice to charge my iPhone X.
@GargoyleA2 I am experiencing any issues with phone calls after installation. I installed it and everything seemed good except the infotainment system freezes after receiving a call. It will stay frozen for over 5 minutes. Nothing will work. The car audio will become mute as if the phone call is in progress well after the call is over until ultimately the system freezes, hangs, and eventually resets. I contacted the Xanavi representative on WhatsApp and I have not received any response besides " I'll look into this". I even provided a detailed video showing the exact issue. Still nothing 2 weeks later. Am I the only one experiencing this?
@lionintu are you handling the call through CarPlay / Android Auto, or do you still have you phone paired to the car’s Bluetooth the old school way?
Went to their site to purchase...form asks for Country of residence but doesn’t have US as option. Did you encounter this?
I worked directly with them via FB messenger.
I ran into the same thing. May try messenger
Dose this work for 2017 Nissan Altima SL
this looks like a great option have you had issues after the install. Do you lose any function of cameras . blind side assist ore any other options?
Nope. Everything still works perfectly as intended.
Hi I appreciate your video, but I have 2018 murano, with no maps function. My maps functions is GREYED OUT! What can I do?
By chance, is the SD card missing from your head unit's SD card slot? I believe you need it for the maps to work. The SD card is what stores the maps.
I’ve reached out to Vlad on his multiple platforms and haven’t gotten a response. Weird since everywhere I read, he seems very responsive and helpful.
Any updates on this?
The Xanavi system works in Rouge 2017?
Muranos and Maximas only as far as I know.
if you remember, how long after you pay do you get the file link and instructions email? been waiting 2 days now... thanks!
Already installed the software, but I can find new file to send to xanavi
Awesome video. Question: how does the information get from your phone to the Carplay display? Is it via wireless Bluetooth?
No, you’ll need to be connected to the usb port in the center console for this to work. Thanks for commenting!
Is this still for sale? Can’t get a hold
There's an SD card already in my murano, is it completely fine to take that out to put the new one in?
Good question. Yes, the existing SD card stores the gps maps. The new SD card will include updated GPS maps.

Yes, Xanavi advertises compatibility with Maximas.

Wonder if this would work on my 2015 rogue
Muranos and Maximas only, as best I can tell.
Did you have your car running while the software was being installed on your head unit?
I seem to remember that being advised, but I didn’t do it. If your battery is healthy I don’t believe you’re at real risk of damaging anything. Running the engine is the safest way to prevent a power drop though.
Can you connect your phone to the software with the buld-in Bluetooth in the murano?
You will need to be plugged in to the USB port in the center console for CarPlay / Android Auto to work.
@@TechWinnerCCMy 2016 murano platinum doesn’t have a center usb… instead it has the heated/cooling seat buttons. But i do have the charger socket (cigarette lighter socket) inside the middle console. I have a charger with usb plugged in it. Would this work?

Z52 is just code for this generation. Not sure what you mean about non-electric.
What about updates, i did installed last year , just wandering how we be able to update AA
I don't believe any updates have been made to this particular software. I believe AA is similar to Carplay in that it's really up to your phone's OS to add any new changes/enhancements to AA itself.
I live in turkey and i recently bought nissan x-trail 2015 it goes by the name of rogue aswell. I wonder if i can use this sd card for apple carplay?
Just the Murano and Maxima, as far as I know.

I handled the entire transaction over Facebook Messenger and PayPal.

@@TechWinnerCCone more qq pls - you ordered directly via the Xanavi website though, that right?
I see built in navigation as a stop gap to a problem that ultimately Apple and Google solved.
is there a way to do this on the qashqai/rogue sport
Murano and Maxima only as far as I know. Thanks for commenting!
All 4 cameras still function?
100%. Man I love those cameras.
Does anyone know if this is still selling?
So I’m buying this ASAP for my 2016. Does your xm radio work? I read where one guy said it locked up his sxm radio?
Sorry, Sam. I drink the Apple kool-aid :). I don’t own any Android devices with which to test.
Amazing! Would this work for a 2017 nissan rogue??
Just Muranos. I believe he also has upgrade options for the Maxima, Leaf, and the Infiniti Q50. Unfortunately, nothing for the Rogue at the time.

Hi! Thanks for this info, been looking everywhere! Just a quick question. The software download onto the card, does that include a maps update? I just want to make sure that my gps will still function without my phone.
Yes, the maps are updated and working.
I don't use the maps but I can see the package I installed on the SD was dated late 2022
As far as I know, Xanavi only supports Muranos and Maximas :(

Unfortunately, no. Just Muranos and Maximas.
there is homebutton missing on the screen and also how do you activate siri??
am sure there are more compromises and shortcuts that are missing.

Not sure what you mean. I’ve only updated my Murano to enable CarPlay this one time, but it’s continuing to work after each iOS update, if that’s what you mean.
What if u have to go back to the factory sd card would that be an issue?
Not an issue at all. I’ve put the factory card back in mine to test, and everything works exactly as before.
