DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.. He. Keeps repeating the same thing without giving any information
Hi, I followed all your steps but all I get is All I get is couldn't connect to android auto headunit server. Are you on the same network, is the headunit server running? Any help?
awesome video. i was wondering if there is a way to not having to move the tablet everytime when using the reverse camera?
What an absolute masterclass is taking 15 minutes to give 30 seconds of information.
Laughed, but felt bad. He was very detailed. Frustrating for you and me, but this is actually helpful to a lot of not so tech savvy adults who do need to be walked through the hotspot connections every step of the way.
Then dont watch

How do you feel knowing that your contribution had and fully realized, without assumptions, itself, zero potential for utility and likewise desirability of its presence? Yeah man
He starts getting to the point at 4:28
Thank you kind sir
Thanks for getting to the point with your cement so effectively
Didnt even know this was possible. Good use for an older tablet. Thanks!
Dont keep it in the car when your not driving it, take it with you, prevents it from overheating during warm days when in direct sunlight.
I would just like to thank you so muck for this tutorial.
I've been looking for a solution for how to connect my Android phone to my Android head unit in my car for 3 weeks now and I finally found it! You are awesome man, can't thank you enough.
I was lucky to see your video today using Emil's Head Unit Reloaded App. I had the App for many years and always had problems but after seeing your video I finally got it work with the WiFi. Thanks😎
Thanks for your comment. Glad to hear that you made it work!
I use automatic hotspot when you enter the car (Bixby routines when connected with bluetooth) and a previous version of HUR that allows you to connect via wifi without wifi launcher app, and it works superb only with three clicks when you drive.
Where did you get the old version?
Can you tell us where you got the older version from? TIA
Totally satisfied, I found this application by chance by another person who posted about this application only that it had a much older version, until I also found the application on the Play Store, the problem for me is that I let them connect according to the steps which are required to run wirelessly but unfortunately it does not connect, it worked twice 3 times, the fourth time I stayed with the car on for 2 hours to somehow mess it up and nothing.
Thank you for your tip I couldn't manage to do the wireless one because the Bluetooth gave the error but I did the wired one
Coolest thing I have seen in a while.
Awesome! It worked perfectly in my old Citroen Van! Thanks a lot! It was really a masterclass video!
Thanks, I have installed and it works well. If my wifi is ON the bluetooth does not gets connected. So I am on wifi (hotspot from my phone). Two things I want to get suggestions from you: 1) How to make Music to play on the car system wireless and how to switch of the Android auto after getting down from the car. Thanks in Advance.
Thanks for the tip! working great with samsung tablet en phone!
worked after some messing around, thanks!
cool setup I use is I have T-Mobile 5G Home Internet router running in the car so I don't have to use hotspot. both phone and tablet connect to the car's wifi. I do have to start AA manually though through the AA Wireless app on the phone. The major benefit is I can background the HUR app and use my tablet for whatever I need including watching movies and just bring HUR to the foreground when driving. I use a combo of Galaxy s21 and Galaxy Tab s7+
Interesting the T-Mobile home WiFi allows you to connect while the car is on the go? I thought it was based off of address
Good info - thanks!
i just have one question, how do i use it with a backup camera?
Enjoyed the video, assuming you can use a similar setup using an iPhone to supply the wireless tether for the tablet.
I just made my life easier and a tablet witg its own internet. Cool work around
Hi thanks for your comment. Yes that would work using a tablet with internet to use maps, music, etc. The only thing it’s missing is being able to make phone calls, or sms.
I have been using Google map on a budget Android Tablets (Sansung A8 & A9) as large screen in-car navigation for years with WiFi from 'Hotspot' on my mobile, driving in many countries. To save mobile data usage, you can pre-download the google map onto your tablet as 'offline maps' for the region/country covering you driving route. Driving with mobile 'hotspot' wiFi will provide re-time traffic data, but you can still drive with 'offline map' on tablet alone without mobile. If your mobile and tablet are both "signed in" your google account, setting up your driving destinations (hotels, restaurant, etc.) becomes very easy.
Lovely thank you mate
Cool setup ❤ .. what is the solution for fire 8 (No GPS) and iPhone combination?
Thank you very much🎉
WoW, very impressive.
i was having connection problems. I installed Android Auto on the tablet and just use the phone for the wi fi hotspot and it works!
Awesome video thx
Have you done any sort of automation to the tablet? E.g. deep hybernation when the car is off, or launch the headunit reloaded app when your phone is connected to bluetooth?
Also, how does the audio from the tablet get to your car. Do you have to have your phone connected to the tablet and then the tablet to yhe cars BT?
Thanks for making these clear instructions. I was able to snag a Fire tablet for $40 like you said. I can run Android Auto perfectly with the cable but it will not work wirelessly for some reason. I'm good up to 10:24 but when I click "connect manually" in Wifi Launcher, nothing happens. I think something may have changed with the software since this video was created.
I think there was a change to the wireless method. I had to go under Android Auto and enable developer mode and then enable "Start Head unit server". After that it worked!
The same issue with Fire 11 tablet and also with Lenovo Tab M11. 🙄
@@Muhkuh1959 I finally got it to work. You need to activate developer mode in Android Auto on the phone then launch the Head Unit Server. Following the wireless steps with this video worked like a charm ua-cam.com/video/Rr3AESa-iwA/v-deo.htmlsi=x8fOzn4q7g1TvlmF
OH MY FREAKING GOSH! I hate your tutorial so much but I NEED to watch it!
Thanks for posting the steps for setting up the Android Auto. I like this setup because it is wireless. However, the apps under Android Auto are limited. I purchased a (very thin & light) 13-inch monitor to use in my car, which is connected to my Samsung phone, and I run Samsung Dex on the 13-inch monitor and use any app that I got on my phone. The disadvantage of my setup is that it is wired, and I need to connect the monitor every time I get into the car.
Hi thanks for sharing your setup. If it works I wouldn’t change as wired works better than wireless.
isnt there wireless dex
@@HuntaKiller91 Yes, with compatible TVs. I am using a PC monitor.
let us know how that monitor holds up after a complete summer and winter
Can you make a video about it or can you point me in the direction to figure this out as well
Good morning. Great video with very useful information. My problem is that I can’t find the wi fi launcher in App Store. Can you suggest another app?
very useful information but you need to trim the fat on the presentation and you'll have a bigger hit. What to trim? The mounting of the tablet. How to connect to wifi. How to use Play store to buy an app. How to turn a hotspot on. Most of the presentation here was on things none of your users will have come here to learn. It is okay to mention that you need those things and even in the comments to provide links to related videos but here it's important to just assume people know how to use wifi, how to use bluetooth, what the play store is. We also don't need to be sold on why we should pay $4.99 for the app and we certainly don't need the several minutes on setting up the tablet mount.
Nice video. Not everyone pays for hotspot through their carrier.
Hi thanks for your comment. That’s true. With T-Mobile and some carriers you can get free hotspot included in your plan. You can also connect using wifi to wifi between the tablet and the phone or connect using USB cable.
Hi Thanks for the instructions...can the sound be connected to your car speakers in this case ?
Aux
thanks!
Eu achei a versão 6 do app e deixo rodando em um celular antigo no porta-luvas, automatizei as rotinas no meu celular principal pra quando desconectar do bluetooth desativar o wi-fi, aí ele encerra sozinho no aparelho que está espelhando. Muito obrigado, me ajudou bastante, estava a 3 anos procurando algo parecido. Minha multimídia pioneer só tem a função de espelhamento, e só com android mais antigo. Obrigado. Obrigado
Great work my friend..can you tell me how I can rotate the screen because it appears horizontal?? thanks
I just use a cellular android tablet with customised theme with the icons and text bigger it works perfect
Is it possible to mirror a tablet screen onto the android auto navigation screen? I'm mainly curious about mirroring a program from Bluestacks5 onto the navigation screen.
The prob is you can't add a backup camera. Or if you add one how the tablet will know when you're on back up?
Great video thank you. I have a question, If I have a 4G tablet I take it I don't need to connect to my phone?
I would then connect the AUX to my car stereo for audio and bluetooth for my phone and I'd be all set
Hi thank you for your comment. If your tablet has 4G internet you still would need to connect your tablet to your phone via one of the methods: usb cable, wifi-direct, tablet connect to phone hotspot or phone connect to tablet hotspot just has described here: b3it.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/80001072238-connecting-using-wifi
This was great! I do have a question which wasn't clear. After going through this setup, each time I come to the car, do I need to use wi-fi launcher, click the Manual Activation button, and turn on my hotspot too?
Hi thanks for your comment. In the wifi launcher, there’s an option to connect your phone Bluetooth to the tablet. This is supposed to launch wifi launcher automatically whenever you are within Bluetooth reach. But I find that there’s some problems with the Head unit reloaded app and the wifi launcher where it won’t connect automatically. The fastest way to connect is to connect with cables tablet to phone or just use your tablet alone as the head unit (connect your tablet or your phone hotspot).
Yes, extremely annoying
is it possible to use it wirelessly but using the car head unit as the speaker/microphone for calls?
Many thanks for this excellent video. I have now set things up and its all working. However for some reason music etc is coming from the tablet not the phone. When it came from the phone I could route it thru the car headset and speakers. Any idea how I can get back to that situation or maybe another fix? But thanks agin for taking time on the video and responding to comments.
Hi thanks for your comment. Glad to hear you got it to work! You could try to connect the tablet Bluetooth to the car speaker Bluetooth to get music from the car speakers. Good luck!
@@PaniaThong Thanks I did that and managed to pair the tablet with the car, however, its a problem when you want to make or receive a call as you can only have one device connected to the car. I realise you could toggle between them. A problem to occupy tomorrow! Thanks again.
thank you for the information. I have done it using wire connection. Unfortunetly wireless I coundn't succeed. During set up after the last request about the battery it doesn't give the same screen as in the video and trying further I can not connect my phone Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G to the tablet. I wonder if you could help me. Thanks again.
Does enabling hotspot on your phone cause the Android Auto's usage on the HUD unit to use hotspot data (as in carrier's allowance), or it's simply for data communication between the tablet and the phone?
as it is a tablet I'm gonna say it's the data from the carrier not just the communication
Very cool
also, when trying to connect to a tablet, when hur instructions refer to the car device would that also be the tablet?
so. how does this work with say listening to the fm radio and navigation turn by turn?
just a fantastic video pn how to install them system
Could you add waze or any other app ?
Thanks for your video very clear. I get a big red error message "Android Auto: communication error, softwares from the car and the phone are not compatible". Could be due to recent Android Auto update ? TIA
Yes this doesn't work for my pixel or fire either
How do you have youtube app? Netflix? Thanks.
OK, you have a display. Then how do you connect wirelessly so that you can stream music from UA-cam from the android head display to the original car sound system?
Can I use aux for music? What about the audio?
This setup was very good but how can I connect it to the car's Bluetooth so I can listen to music on UA-cam? Thanks
Also, please share Android Auto (on phone) settings. Thank you.
If you connect your phone via wired android auto to your head unit, can you still connect wirelessly to your tablet simultaneously? Can the car's head unit and the tablet display the same screen? I am trying to have android auto connect to both screens (tablet and head unit -Uconnect4 on RAM 1500) at the same time. Is that possible?
Can you attach a rear camera to the set up? How about connect a front and rear car camera? Thanks.
Can you hook up audio with Bluetooth through the car speakers?
If my main smartphone have inbuilt android auto app. Do i still need to istall that app in my smartphone??
Connect the tablet to car Bluetooth and I might try it. Right now I have that same mouth and do the same idea but just using Google maps not necessarily android auto
What happens, if you just connect the phone to the head unit with a usb-s to usb-c cable? Does it work the same way ? Can the 4G resources / data and the GPS on the phone be used by the tablet in this case?
Hello! If I don't have AA wifi launcher app, can I connect to android auto?
Love the video but one thing you didn't cover since you are suggesting this method to replace actual carplay;
Does audio route to car speakers?
You are constantly plugging in one or the other phone or tablet ( not hard wired)
How to use tablets camera as a dash cam?
How is the battery life without having it hardwired?
It seems audio is still being played from phone directly, is there a way to to play audio from car or phone by simple press of button as most carplays interface has this function?
Thanks mate, I have a tablet actually hardwired in my ford fusion. I like this updated form but it still seems it is lacking some cool added features. I am sure I could like my ford hard wire it to factory speakers, add usb 12v line for automated power, add a type c usb splitter for a hardwire for rear and power combine. Just gotta wrap my head around splicing into factory speakers or going the full bluetooth/wifi route.
Hi thanks for your comment. For cars that don’t have Bluetooth, you won’t be able to route to the car audio speakers.
You can use a wireless charger car mount so you won’t need to plug in wires to charge.
Same thing I was thinking
Can you please clarify something for me? So your cell will be connected via Bluetooth to the tablet and the car so I can use the car speaker? I'm a bit lost! Thanks 🙏
@@izadelis You can not use the car speaker for this method. The audio will be dispersed via phone.
@@izadelis Hi thanks for your comment. Yes you can connect your phone that the car Bluetooth to connect the car speaker. If the sound is coming out from the tablet, you would need to connect the tablet to the car Bluetooth to have sound from the car speakers. Some people noticed the sound is coming out from the tablet and not the phone.
Can you wach UA-cam and maps at the same time?
hi Pania, the wifi luncher is not working on my oppo phone. is there a diferent one ? thank you👍
Does the audio come out of the car speakers?. Or do you need to set a receiver up?
Hi thanks for your comment. If your car doesn’t have bluetooth, then the audio will come out of the tablet speakers.
Unable to connect. Nothing happens when I click on "Start Wifi service manually" per your instructions. Please clarify other WiFi Launcher settings including Wireless settings. Also, please clarify, are there multiple ways to connect and this is just one configuration? If so, please explain why one or the other. Thank you.
Hi Bro,
How can you use your old phone as an Android auto wireless dongle?
Does it play music through car stereo or phone?
This is going to be so bouncy when u are driving 😅 I've had that same exact setup b4
You should have included there is a cost to use hotspot, and it depends on the carrier. With the sound coming from the tablet I don't understand why someone would want to use this method. Maybe im missing something.
I don't have a dislay in ny car nor an aux or bluetooth. I use an FM transmitter and Waze (for directions) on my phone, which is mounted. This allows all the directions to come through my car speakers and if I take a call it comes through the speakers as well.
This method Is alright, and a big plus to it is that the tablet can be easily put in & removed when out of vehicle.
This is pretty damn great if you live in the hood or around. People be just salivating at shiny dangling dash unit.
Great alternative until we get a dash unit that's magnetic and is easy 1,2,3 to remove and put back in place.
Can we use the Headunit Reloaded Emulator app without the wifi launcher app?
Hi. have you ever tried to connect the rear camera wifi
Hi thank you for your comment. I have not tried to connect to rear wifi camera. There’s a Head unit where it has rear camera and dashcam included: amzn.to/44yWKjj
Is there also a way for apple carplay?
does sound comes from car speakers or tablet speakers?
Great video. But unfortunately its not working for me on Fire HD 10. Followed all steps, but nothing happens on HUR, while AA Developer on mu samsung s23+ tell me that Head Unit server is running. Any help you can offer?
Hey man, amazing Video! ❤️❤️
I have an issue, I'm trying to screen mirror my 2nd android device to a windows screen
And the headgear unit won't go landscape on my phone, and so I end up with a portrait phone screen sideways with massive black bars
Plsss if someone knows how to fix this issue, unfortunately this is the only way for me to have Android auto
Since I need a 1 DIN cassette for my car, so the windows screens are the only ones available
Thanks
i am having issues Similar Mine was working perfect but tell should i connect my phone Bluetooth car because when i did sounds come from my tablet and when i connect my tablet with car speakers it works but when i receive call i cant talk on my car speakers i have to talk on my phone so what should i do
Is there any app which recreates the Android Auto HUD on a tablet? Those icons looked pretty small on the app you used and I dont think id be able to press them when driving around.
Hi thanks for your comment. Good idea! There are apps like Automate, AutoZen, etc. that can tweak the UI to look like Android Auto but use their own apps, not the tablet apps. You tablet would need wifi and a GPS built-in for maps navigation. If you find an app that can do that please feel free to share it here. Thanks!
Yes IT is seara în Google player for car launcher
Hello there, btw great tutorial video. I'm having issues with audio output not coming through my car speakers even though I paired with my tablet bluetooth. Not sure what I'm missing here. Any helps would be great!
Hi thanks for your comment. Is the sound coming from the tablet or the phone? If the sound is coming out from your phone, you could try to pair your car speakers with your Bluetooth phone. Or try to restart the tablet and unpair and pair again the Bluetooth of the tablet with the car. Good luck!
i am having issues Similar Mine was working perfect but tell should i connect my phone Bluetooth car because when i did sounds come from my tablet and when i connect my tablet with car speakers it works but when i receive call i cant talk on my car speakers i have to talk on my phone so what should i do
How do i use BLUETOOTH to connect it with my car speakers. Its already connected with mobile. I can hear music while driving only on mobile and not on car speakers....
Any circumventing way there ?
Does it work on any make and model
I had followed each and every step as briefed by you, but still im unable to connect to HUR. Can you please help me out.
It works, but when i play Spotify on de tablet the sounds came out of my phone, and not out the car speakers or the tablet.
Can you help me?
Its kind of of cool i suppose but i can do al that to an iPhone 11
most people could once they have Air play/ car play. I have Toyota Auris 12 The bigger screen is nice. Am I missing something ?
Hi thanks for your comment. I supposed you would need an iPad to work with an iPhone. This video is for Android tablet with an Android phone.
now how do you get the audio through the car system instead of listening to it on your phone >?
What do you do for audio? Is it using the cheap fire tablet speakers?
You connect with aux or Bluetooth?
I still have my old samsung galaxy tab 3 8 inches. I wonder if it would work?...
Will this work if I do not have phone service?
It will cover the AC Vents. How will this get resolved
Wobbly.
I'm sorry for being picky - but it does not look fast. Did someone test it on performant phones and tablets ? What are the requirements for FAST AA tablet ?
Hello sir my fps is very low, can i make it higher?
"Start WI-FI services manually" doesn't work. Why?
Hey so what about the air vents?
I'd think that if he plugged the phone into the cars USB port that Android auto would come up on his screen that is built into the car. This would be a good option to add to a car that doesn't have the android auto built into the car screen when plugged in.
Can I use an iPad with my android phone to display android auto on the iPad?
reverse camera work ?
