I don't know if this is a "hack", feature, or if I'm just the only one who didn't know that this was possible. But I've had my 2017 Nissan Sentra for over a year and do a lot of delivery driving and in between deliveries and when it's slow I like to just recline the seat a smidge and relax. Maybe play some videos or listen to a podcast. But I cannot stand my headrest/ head restraint they're rounded and incredibly uncomfortable to my head but mainly my neck. After dealing with quite a lot of pain that added up from it over a couple months I was sitting in silence, laid back a little bit and holding my neck that was in pain and looked over at the passenger seat headrest and while sitting there staring at it the thought popped into my head " I wonder if you can just take it out and flip it around" so I tried to do exactly that and VOILA!! IT ACTUALLY WORKED!! Once flipped around the headrest are a much more comfortable shape and it has dramatically help my neck, head, and back pain. Again perhaps I might be one of the only people who doesn't know this if it is in fact a "feature" but regardless finding that out made my whole day 🙃 also in my opinion these seats look way better this way
Thanks for this comment. I didn't know and i just bought a 2019 Nissan Murano Platinum. However the seats (laid back) are not nearly as comfortable as my old 2008 Ford truck. I'll definitely give this a try
More dealerships should do UA-cam channels like this! I say this because a lot of people are uncomfortable about going in and talking to dealerships because it's a lot of money you're negotiating over. You're very nice and easy to follow.
5 Stars for silencing the horn when locking the vehicle. My wife continually jumps even after 4 years,,,,I was aware of the windows down control, like the windows up trick. Thank you very much.
Great video. I would like for my horn to honk to indicate that my 2018 Nissan Murano is locked, however, after following the video, my horn still does not honk after setting. The horn honks once to set the change, but does not again. What could be the issue?
I'm so glad I watched this video I didn't know about a lot of these features I had the 09 Altima now I have the 2017 Maxima and I'm just so glad you uploaded this to UA-cam thanks so much.
Just an advise Advise for CVT owned cars Always warm the car during first start of the day for about 5minutes. Do not unnecessarily race the car from a standstill overheating can be bad for CVT. After 100K Do not forget to service and change the CVT Transmission fluid, use OEM and no substitute Preferred parking for the car would be inside a garage or under a shaded area this can drastically extend the life of the car paint as well as the electronics. Dont drive with handbrakes engaged Always change the engine oil at 5k or 10k without premium products
2011 Nissan Quest.... same thing. Actually somehow my horn was somehow shut off. Im here to figure out how to turn it on and came across this video. Well, wadda ya know!
I do too, Olivia. This way I don't need to fumble for the key amongst the change in my pocket. And when you push on the door lock button twice it locks / unlocks all four doors. Fob still stays in pocket.
I have a 2019 Maxima SL and I never knew that I knew about the story but I actually forgot how to do it the other features I never even now great video😊Actually thought just came to me I also have 2017 Nissan NV 2500 high cube van I’m going to try to see if any of those things were on there
Just got rid of my titan (I cried literally) I knew about all this except closing the windows after putting key in. I wish I knew that soooo many times. I absolutely love Nissan. I’m on my 3rd. 08 Altima/2010 titan pro 4x/2020 rouge SL fully loaded. I love it. Wish she was a bit more powerful. But she’s amazing.
If it has a side view camera, it will only work when the car is in reverse. Depending on which one you have though, there might be a light that lights up when you have a car in your blind spot.
Great job 👍!!! I was able to disarm and re-arm the sound when you lock the vehicle but could not roll windows down per your instructions on my 2017’ Nissan Altima & Nissan Versa 🤷♀️!!!
They work for many of the Nissans, for at least the last 15 years. But not all of them. A good rule of thumb is that most Nissans with the Auto Up/Down feature on the front window should have the ability to roll them down and up with the key. I believe the horn feature does work for all models that I can think of for the past 15 or so years at least.
1. Hold "Lock and Unlock" together for few seconds, lights blink, turns off alarm confirmation honk. Do the same to turn it back on 2. Hold "unlock" button to roll down windows 3. Insert key into door handle lock and turn right to close them back up There. saved you 2 minutes of infomercial for 48 seconds of content.
Have you any idea how I get my fob to connect with the Nissan Connect in my 2018 Rogue so I can use the Remote Start feature? I bought it used. Should I take it to a Nissan Dealership?
When I used the electronic key to lock the door of 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport, I clicked the lock button, then fours doors were locked. However, the trunk lid was still unlocked when I approached it with the electronic key. I thought it might be set by default. There are only 3 buttons on the key and there is no one for the truck lid. Then, I managed to put the electronic key far away, and the trunk lid was found to be locked just like the doors. Is there any way that I can use these 3-button electronic key to lock trunk lid even when I carry the key close to the trunk lid?
I'm still not sure what purpose rolling windows down with a key serves....but at least now I know my car can do it...thanks for sharing. The horn feature is really nice
One of the best things a new car buyer can do is spend some quality time on the porcelain throne and READ the manual. Thoroughly ! All these tips are explained in the manual !
Going to try the horn thing on my 2016 nissan sentra. A while back, it stopped chirping when I got the lock button. It still locks and the yellow lights flash but no sound.
Hello I have a question, I have an 07 Murano SL and I was wondering if there was a setting where the lights turn on when I press the unlock button on the key fob at night. It only does it when I turn off the car and leave not when I unlock it at night
If your wife starts arguing for no reason while on the passenger seat open the sunroof and press on the panic key 4 times then the lock key, she will be ejected. If the Murano has no sunroof she will be out until you guys get home, excelent feature!!
I have a 2017 Rogue Sport SV. How can I turn off the key fob without removing the battery? I know there is a way for Toyotas and want to do it with a spare fob. I don't need it sending a signal a thief could repeat and use it to steal the vehicle or anything inside it. I figured the best way to lessen the risk would be turning off the one I don't use. I also know that some other vehicles have fobs that turn off when no motion is detected. One thing that might help would be to not have it transmit unless it receives a signal from the specific vehicle it is programmed for. It would be some sort of encrypted message that identifies the vehicle and triggers its fob and only that one to send a signal. This of course would not be always transmitting and would not respond to other vehicles from the same manufacturer, just the ones they were programmed for. The idea of it is so that even if someone is trying to rebroadcast the signal, they can't. They would need the vehicle to tell the fob to transmit.
I am not sure how to remove the key fob, but I believe you may have to have the part that reads the signal from the key removed. But removing that part from the ignition system would likely make it so that you couldn't start the vehicle at all without some cleaver wiring work-arounds. This would definitely void the warranty though from my understanding.
Do u know if that will work for my 2016 Nissan rouge SV model 3 buttons only no lift gate and I heard that if u hold down the lock button for 10 seconds the car will start ???
GREAT tips ... will try on my 2019 Rogue SL. Just watched another Tip video and also mentioned the windows. You have to have the two front windows with the power-up feature. Even with the SL, I did not get the two auto windows but will test this out in case their is another hidden feature for the SL.
i have the 2015 nissan murano SL AWD, great luxury sized car with amazing seats, although i don't understand why when the car is off the window doesnt go up or down, you need to start the car to put the windows back up then shut it off. A bit annoying but overall great and safe car.
I don't know if you have the new fancy push button to start on your car but I know the regular ignition on most cars allow you to just turn the key a little bit so that your lights on the dash come on and you can roll the windows up and down without cranking the car up.
The enable / disable horn lock feature does work on my 2011 Altima; the auto window feature however, doesn't. Any other "secrets" applicable to the 2011 Altima??
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima and I bought some remotes on eBay and I cannot get the horn to disable by pressing the lock and unlock buttons. They do lock/unlock the car. Any thoughts on this?
It does work on my 2007 Murano SL AWD. Another feature that Nissan has; that most folks don't know, is that when you're putting air in your tires...the horn will sound when you've reached the factory required air pressure. No guage required. Great, when just checking levels or pre-opping for a trip.
Can you do a video on how to get my Nissan Murano hatchback open, I can't seem to open it, I purchased it from your dealership several be years ago? Thank you
Window roll down is an annoying feature. It can’t be shut down. Every time I have my fob inside my pocket somehow the windows roll down. I wish feature could be shut down like the horn. Whoever at Nissan came up this idea did a poor job designing this feature.
The roll down feature of the windows ain't so great. I had the fob in my pocket and somehow I activated it. In the morning I realized it...after a night of torrential rain.
I don't know if this is a "hack", feature, or if I'm just the only one who didn't know that this was possible. That's true. Local dealerships don't want to pay the money. That's why UA-camrs who do these type of videos have to monetize their channels.
Alot of people SHOULD read their manual but hey they DONT, whyshould thry, right? ! Everything seen in this video is in manual... Go figure
5 Stars for silencing the horn when locking the vehicle. My wife continually jumps even after 4 years,,,,I was aware of the windows down control, like the windows up trick. Thank you very much.
How can I enable the windows thing? My 2016 Nissan altima dose not have that Feature
I can say that you are the first UA-camr to show hidden features on any vehicles .. everyone else does the same shit
Wow! I had my Maxima for 3 years and never knew anything about this. Thanks for sharing the video.
I like the lock sound let’s me know it’s actually lock.
Even then, i press it 2 or 3 times to be double sure.
I prefer to press the button on the handles when it's late so it's not loud.
I like it too. It helps me know where my car is in a crowded parking lot.
So does the clunk noise from the locks engaging..🤷♂️
@@mohamedbaradji7504 that's what the panic button is for
I knew about the window down feature but not the window up lol and I didn't know about the turning off the sound feature. Thanks for the info!
In WA State and watched this. I just bought Murano and these tips were great. Thanks for the share!!
What year is your Murano? Did it work for you?
Western Australia? Or Washington?
Great video. I would like for my horn to honk to indicate that my 2018 Nissan Murano is locked, however, after following the video, my horn still does not honk after setting. The horn honks once to set the change, but does not again. What could be the issue?
Damn, I knew about the window roll down feature, but never knew that I could disable the horn when locked. Worked on my '08 Altima coupe. Thanks!
Awesome. Saved me a trip to the dealer!!
Ah man you just fixed my car! Its alarm was silent i thought it was normal now it honks!!!! Thank you
Nice!!! Thoroughly explained! Saved video to favorites

I do this too! I love the button on the power lift gate that lets you lock the vehicle after you unload your groceries also. So handy.

Do it come with a side mirror camera to see cars on your blind spot I learn things I didn't know my car can do I'm still learning new stuff

Turn on the remote start, uroll the windows to blast the hot air out .
To let the hot air out of the car before you get in…. Here in Florida it helps a lot
It's hot here in Texas too... Sometimes even in the winter

can TPMS screen be shown to see current tire pressures or does it only work when pressure is too high or too low?

If your key fob does not have the "start" button, which is a clockwise arrow, at top of fob, then your car does not have the remote start feature.
