Twitch is known for prolifically banning its creators when its terms of service have been breached, but often these bans are for a short amount of time, only rarely will a create violate Twitch's TOS severely enough so that they're indefinitely suspended from the platform. In this video we're doing a deep dive into those rare occasions, having a look into the moments that creators we're permanently banned, and delving into why.
This is the next chapter of my 'Book of the Banned' series, I'm sure it won't disappoint!

The thing is Zillian could’ve easily gotten away with it if he didn’t try to lie saying he fell out of his chair. Not every disabled person is 100% wheelchair bound and can’t walk. Some can but not for long periods of time because it can strain them so they need wheelchairs.
Yeah basically, or been up front. And explain, “from when I first started to now, my mobility was severely compromised. Due to PT I have been able to increase my mobility, and I am able to move around way more! I just wanted to let y’all know, as I know many of you have been loyal supporters for me due to my being in a wheel chair”
That's exactly what I go through, except instead of needing a wheelchair, I for now don't need it, but I do need to sit and sometimes when going to the store, I need an electric cart. I also have a cane and walker just in case.
Arthritis for example, which is what I have, has its own good, bad, and terrible days. Many different changes in things such as temperature, weather, and mood can determine how my joints feel, and there are many different kinds of arthritis that affect people differently. I am only 21 years old and have had arthritis since I was a baby, so it sadly is not always determined by age.
He shouldn't have lied about his issues, as this makes me inclined to be more suspicious of him. Why lie about something like this?

he also said in the interview that at the time when he got up he could walk somewhat but still needed the wheelchair, and he apparently still (at the time of the interview) needed the wheelchair, so it wasn't like he's now 100% cured lol
Exactly.. If he had said the truth.. Or clarify beforehand how his wheelchair is not something needed 24/7..people would've understand. Sure its a bit personal but seeing as it was part of his personality... It shoyldve been said

Twitch are always highly inconsistent when it comes to "sexually explicit content" considering they're very heavy-handed when it comes to VTubers. You only need to look back at Shylily's 3D model reveal stream, she got banned for a week for something that happened during that stream, but Twitch never even told her what she did wrong, namely they didn't even tell Shylily what guideline she supposedly broke.
We also got the infamous “banging live” incident where that lady basically just got a slap on the wrist
@@floofyboi7546 Someone who literally got fucked LIVE ON STREAM got a less severe punishment than a person who made a joking threat to a long time fan. Really shows the fetishes and desires of their moderators.
And they also banned nyanners for a week when she revealed a new outfit because it was “too sexual”. The outfit covered more than most bikini streamers, who aren’t banned somehow. She was just chatting and having fun with her new model, she didn’t even have a provocative title like the bikini streams I’ve been suggested, which always are called shit like “tiny strappy bikini stream 💦 👙 🍆”
I have nothing against women showing their bodies to make money, I’m actually extremely supportive of it, but why the hell isn’t twitch consistent about their guidelines??
Not only Shylily, but some of the vtubers are doing sexily.

You should do a video on bans from GDQ (Games Done Quick.) There's actually a lot of strange and odd ways people have been banned, such as the overuse of a Owen Wilson impression, and iirc someone also got banned from taking out a power bar from a bag.
Was the owen wilson guy the same one who told everyone to tweet at an airline? During a crash bandicoot run? That dude was hilarious, but I thought it was the airline thing that actually got him banned - people actually did it.

Thing is twitch staff tends to favor girl streamers since they could get more money. Tuv did a video on crimes committed on Twitch and brought that up.
Unless they're VTubers, female VTubers frequently get banned for things that IRL female streamers get away with on Twitch.

Okay, I am not into Twitch, but I wanted to sau - the guy in the wheelchair, that's totally a societal issue. I am legally blind, and people give me looks and have accused me of faking my disability because I have a guide dog but also use a cell phone. People assume because you're disabled, you're totally incapable. Truth is, disability is not a constant. You can have good days and bad days. Sometimes, he uses his chair, and sometimes he has the strength to walk. I can understand this. There are times I feel I have to act more blind than I am to make others comfoirtable lol. people are weird.
The story of Cosmo/Narcissa is the one that hits me the most because they were literally my inspiration since I was a kid and Ocarina of Time is my all time favourite time mainly because of them. And then I found out about what happened a few years back and it hit me like a truck, I don't feel any emotions for most creators but that really affected me. I'll always remember old Cosmo though, the best of the best. Also if you ever do another one of these videos we now have Kimmikka who literally had sex on stream and only got a 7 day ban. Great video man.

Hey this is a lovely video! I'm surprised you didn't mention Nova Petra. Her reason for getting banned definitely fits into this video, especially when you mentioned the streamer who forgot his cam was on and showed everything. Nevertheless, I didn't know most people on here and this was fun to watch! :)
im an ambulatory wheelchair user, meaning i only need a wheelchair sometimes (like in stores or walking around places)
i can walk around my house just fine, but if i can i use a wheelchair in places i need to walk more.

Exactly, people who make the argument about trans women in sports don't understand the transition process. For trans people to even be allowed to participate in sports they have to have been fully medically transitioned for a certain amount of time, and the treatment does change physical attributes such as bone density

He was at E3 the same year as me. dr disrespect was filming or livestreaming when he went into a bathroom and kept filming it when people were using it. I remember people saying he was banned for that and overhearing people who came out of the bathroom that were really upset.
It should be common sense for streamers tho. With recorded content you can cut around to make sure people’s privacy is protected but with live content there’s no such option.

Shockingly good list, Phantoml0rd is a account many stopped talking about. What a sad loss, he legit had a HUGE community that was consistent, and he ruined it by greed. He never owned up to it by just suing even though he legit reaped what he sowed.
I loved his League streams and I watched him get his first big 1k dono which was significant at the time. Then he sold it all out by doing scambling like that. So cringe and sad. I really liked him.
ZillianOP is actually so sad. Yes I have empathy for him, he shoulda been more honest, but I am sure it'd be hard to explain? I am not sure. He did explain at the time he could walk but not for long spurts of time at all. He was still mostly wheelchair bound at the time I believe? If he is to believed. I wonder if he got scared after the reaction and decided to double down a lie? But he technically was still disabled at the time as he couldn't walk perfectly fine still. I don't think he should be perma banned.
Those two stories in particular are wildly interesting just because of the several different layers of good and evil they have to them, for PhantomL0rd, something really good for creators rights came out of something horribly greedy as you said, but with Zilian, I can see that he might have been afraid to disclose where his rehabilitation was at. As I saw in another comment, if he just wouldn't have lied about it when he stood up, if he would have come clean at that point I think he would have stuck around

I've had the impression that UA-camrs who get in trouble and are big are likely to be the ones who are punished. If you're small unless you've done some really really bad, the front office isn't likely to notice you. I would think that a similar concept would apply with Twitch to a point. I would also think that the number of reports or complaints against a person would also factor in on who gets noticed or punished.
It 100% depends on the person. I have a black friend who eggs me on to say the n word and a few others who would probably punch me in the face if I ever said it, at least to them. I don't think it makes it right to say it just because someone eggs you on to or gives you "permission" simply out of respect for others and the fact that people have died over that word. I'm not really qualified to talk on it either, though.
Have a friend that’s a personal trainer and body builder. Normally streamed games, had a small but consistent following.
Was wearing a tank top and working out, being social. During a lift, had a nipple slip.
Woke up the next day, banned.
This was in like 2016/17.. and now twitch is softcore CB. We live in a society.

I just wanted to jump in and say as a cis woman that the whole “trans women would destroy womens sports” argument is total bs. I know a few trans women and they’ll be the first to tell you that HRT fucks up your muscles, so trans women would actually be physically WEAKER than cis women, not to mention that some trans women transitioned as children and had puberty blockers, so they never had a male puberty. In fact one of my friends that I mentioned has a hyper mobility problem and needs to walk with a cane

Getting too trigger happy on the ban button has been tumblr's undoing. As things are going right now, I suspect Twitch (and other platforms for that matter) could meet the same fate eventually.
Yep... I do not understand a lot of these bans based on the information publicly available. Sure, some people are sleazy, but that's hardly a reason to ban them.

Going back to the nudity thing, twitch has the power to enforce it. They enforced the rules for unregulated gambling in the slots category when they got pressure from the GCB. Twitch is super hypocritical when it comes to terminations. They encourage female streamers to do what they were doing by adding a new category called “Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches”. It was a place where all the E-Thots could reside in one general category.

14:45 I think It's very likley that the n word used to not be offensive, but people used it in a offensive context and it became offensive when a non black person says it. This isn't the only word where something like this happened tho, It's the same thing with the r word. It used to be a medical term, but due to people using it as an insult it became a slur.

DariusIRL having to fucking prove to Twitch that he's half black is so stupid. As somebody who's mixed, if somebody says they're mixed race, you believe them. Like if somebody tells you they're half black and your response is basically "Oh you don't look half-black, we're gonna need some proof." then you've already lost the battle. It's colorism, and its an issue that a lot of mixed people face; especially half-black mixed people.
As for Prezoh and the whole thing with sexually explicit content; Twitch is a gaming platform, not a camgirl website. If you slip up and do something that Prezoh did where you accidentally expose something lewd or nsfw then a three day ban is a good warning, but if you keep doing that over and over again then you should be permabanned.

I watched world record progression videos, and Narsissa was in it. I originally thought he/she (I don’t know) was only a person who speedrun Ed and only known for that, but oh was I wrong.

I stopped using twitch a few years ago, because they (apparently) were starting a crusade against male streamers. Even though i never watched a lot lgbt/female streamers, the recommended feed was always full of them. male streamers got banned while female/lgbt were allowed to continue with basically the same accusations and evidence. contacting employees about them "losing their jobs" did not yield any answers or way later. twitch added very faulty and unfair AIs which removed clips containing copyrighted music without giving creators the chance to cut it out.
A lot of these seem incredibly unfair. Zillion, Ice and Soar Carl should get their accounts back

I’m just curious, was Pewdepie ever banned? I remember a lot of people getting angry over the fact that he had said some things that people of color could have been very offended by and he did the same to Jewish people? I’m just curious as I was one of the people who were upset that he seemed to have gotten a pass because he was so popular so I quit watching twitch after that. Also wasn’t Neebs Gaming banned or something for getting some kind of deal with another platform or something like that? I use to love Neebs Gaming.

Okay so here is my opinion on using slurs if you are in the group (I am white);
I am a physically and mentally disabled person, which puts me as a target for the r-slur. However, saying the r-slur would still be offensive, even though I am in the same group it is used against. This is because the r-slur is used to lower people within that group, shame and ridicule them for having a different mind than others. It's still offensive regardless of who says it.
As for race, I feel this should go the same way. Appropiation of any slur that is used for discrimination is not really a good thing. Even as a joke, it is used in racism and in bullying, why would anyone want to support a word used for that?
Tbh, if I was black, I would still be against saying the word, even if other black people are saying it, just simply because of its original purpose to hurt others.

It's like how when you tell a child to not do something, it becomes much more appealing to them, some of them. Alot of slurs that had offensive pasts have become more or less, low hanging fruit for trolls looking for a reaction or any other reason. I am black myself, biracial.

This whole video was interesting to watch and about that Darius situation. Imo you can really only say the word if your fully black or half black but if your black passing, I'm saying this cause I notice a recent thing happening with a lot of mixed black kids coming out some being black passing and some passing of another race. I would suggest to not say the word if your mixed with black but not passing as one as seen here problems like this will happen and if you truly have to prove your black with proof then I would suggest not saying it. But again i'm just one person and this is just my opinion
