We need an entire video where Fox does a Chills impression. That was spot-on.
Yeah Bro, keep it up with the chills impressions. Love it lol.
Is chills the number 15 burger king foot lettuce guy?
@@FoxAkimbo Yeah! I lost my shit at that part XD
@@FoxAkimbo Yup that's him
YES
The jackalope is "real" as in the myth began when a few hunters/farmers saw a colony of jackrabbits with a rare antler-like black fungus that curled around the top of their heads, leading to the jackrabbit with antlers idea coming about.
That's cool! I never knew that. Cheers!
Theres no way it looked like antlers tho. And I know that rabbits with like a genetic quirk where they produce to much calcium can also make horn type things on there head from what i understand but theres no way either of the ways looked like antlers
@@ohthatswhatabearis1270 if im remembering correctly it’s caused by what’s basically gnarly looking warts
@@ohthatswhatabearis1270 I think what they mean is that when people described it, they said smth like “rabbits with horn-looking things” and it just got blown out of proportion as it was shared
Apparently there’s some type of illness that makes trouts look furry. Not like pictured but like fur looking tufts.
as an aussie, I can attest to the drop bears thing, we lean so hard into it and into the "everything is australia can kill you" meme. Yeah, pretty much everything is dangerous here, but we've gotten used to it. However, I will say that most aussies love koalas, they aren't pests at all, and I have vivid memories of being outside on a lunch break at school and having everyone crowd around the bottom of a gum tree because we saw a koala up the top. We love them, they're so cuddly, but you shouldn't get too close to them unless they're in an enclosure or anything because they can use their claws if you get too close. Normally they are too lethargic to do anything but run away from you though
That's fair, maybe it was something else that's commonplace in Australia, someone else was commenting that Aussies generally don't like kangaroos but maybe that was just a personal vandetta idk, either way yall got some interesting and crazy animals down under
Yeah well I'd say kangaroos are for Australians as moose are for Canadians: they just randomly appear on roads or in your backyard in certain areas, can do serious damage to cars, and we think they're hilarious but terrifying sometimes. Most kangaroos are alright, but you definitely get some aggressive male kangaroos that just want to fight everything
as an aussie we joke about drop bears being real a lot, but the myth of drop bears is basically just an angry koala lol. we love them but some tourists do not realise that they are dangerous. they have claws!
Yeah, kangaroos are considered pests though so fox prolly just got confused
@@grimoire636 kangaroos are a nuisance for some but not a pest since they are native. Foxes and rabbits are pests in Australia since they were introduced here and not native. Most people like kangaroos and I think everyone loves Koalas. But they both can be dangerous. Koalas aren't aggressive but when need be will defend themselves with their damn huge claws. But like mentioned above they are super lethargic and rarely attack. Kangaroos are normally pretty chill but are known to attack people and deal some HEAVY damage, those back legs are crazy powerful and like the koalas they brandish some deadly claws.
The worst about alexandria’s genesis is that it comes from a fanfiction
It does.
It originally was from a Daria Fan fiction website that went down long ago.
Strange Soup made a video in weird internet myths, and it was one of them.
ofc it is
Ugh it sounded so cool when I first heard about it only to learn it's a Mary Sue disease
@@eilir_adron Ah yes, the most notorious, unbeatable abilities in fiction: perma-regeneration, limitless intangibility, infinite power, and purple eyes.

I heard balloon boy case was actually forced into a guilty verdict in which the kid was tricked into saying they planned it . And then forced the husband to take a plea guilty deal as they were treating his wife whit being deported.
BALLOON BOY WAS FRAMED! As I repeated.
Treating the wife with deportation... Lol theres a boomer joke there "i wish i could treat my wife with deportation so i can fish"

If anyone wants to know or doesn't know, Momo is an art project of a girl with chicken legs, the weird face, and yes, a very large chest.
Another thing is that for "The Blair Witch," the director APPARENTLY told the actors to lay low and try not to interact with people. He did it as another form of marketing.
It's incredible to think that Blair Witch is actually an adaptation of a book series lol
Mmm mommy momo
Speaking of fairies, one of my favorite hoaxes is the Cottingley Faeries photos. Basically, two sisters made or got hold of paper art of fairies and took pictures of themselves with these fairies around them to make it seem like they came across real fairies. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, yes, Sherlock Holmes author himself, actually examined the photos and said they weren't tampered with in any way (in that the fairies weren't painted onto the photos or the result of multiple exposure I guess), so many believed the girls actually photographed fairies. The truth came out I believe decades later that they faked it and how they faked it. I have a fondness for fairies (the mythology of them, actual fairies I dont trust at all if they are real) and the fact two sisters got to many to buy into that hoax is impressive to me. But it was the early 1900s, and photography was seen as real, as if it wasnt still easy to manipulate
Woow! Súper interesting!
Yeah. Arthur Conan Doyle was weirdly obsessed with the supernatural (fairies, theosophy, spiritualism, things like that).
I actually have the book of this that has the photos in it, it's pretty cool to look at 🧚♀️
Yes, I would drink dihydrogen monoxide. I get at least 8 glasses of it a day.

That H20 tho
The momo challenge was HUGE in latam, i even messaged the number back then asking if they sold babies lol
Internet historian says that the parents of the balloon boy were force to say they were guilty, even though they were inocent.
I was waiting for someone to mention this. It’s a shame how badly the dad was treated.
@@Cheeky_Hiro wasn’t the mom also threatened with deportation?
I have seen the dream man in my dreams, but it was because i watched multiple videos about it and thought about it a lot before sleeping.
Done dirty
I found the dream man in a dream ( obviously) one week before encountering it on the Internet. I was like " wait I know this dude " so I clicked on a video about it completely unaware of the creepypasta .
The Balloon Boy hoax is explained on Internet Historian's channel, it's a good watch at how the whole story actually unfolded.
I remember when it happened.
Oh my gosh, Museum of Hoaxes was one of my favorite books in high school!!! Never thought I'd hear about it anywhere else honestly lol
It seems fun lol

Lady Gaga saying "What if I am a man?" is such a Lady Gaga thing lmao
I just want to say that the "Momo" face is a statue by Japanese artist Keisuke Aiso.
I think crediting artists is important and also wanna let ppl who aren't aware know who the artist is in case they wanna see more like that
Also with the Munchkin hanging thing, someone had posted a video that they had edited with after effects or some other editing software and replaced a bird with the hanging munchkin, in fact you can still see part of the bird poke out from behind the munchkin in the edited video. What they claimed is that this is what the movie scene showed before they came out with a remastered version.
Man, I hate to admit it but I thought Tom Kenny was dead for years cuz I heard for a while that he died and never really looked into it and took it for fact
I also remember during the whole "2012" thing, I was playing TF2 the morning of "the final day", and someone was saying they heard gunshots in their area and said it could've been people taking themselves out to not have to witness the horrors of "the end of the world". Thought that was pretty sad
I like swallow
@@FoxAkimbo what???
That would be a cold, laughless world. I hope he never dies!
thats actually sad definitely at least 1 person killed themselves to not witness the end of the world
That’s really sad actually
Just casually activating my conspiracy theorist brain 👁️👁️ Anyways, great content man, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
The Balloon Boy story was FAR worse when you actually research it, it wasn't "parents trick everyone into thinking their kid was in a saucer".
Internet Historian made a video about it years ago and a follow up video explaining even further.
I'd like to imagine the drop bear was the product of a koala falling from a tree in front of somebody and they made a story out of it. Great video as always 👍
2 Koalas in a tree, a third tries to join, one gets yeeted and the rest is history lol
"Australians say they [Koalas] are a bit of a pest"
I have... never heard anyone say that, ever.
If anything, we are trying our best to keep them around. They have issues with... diseases that we are trying to solve, along with deforestation.
Humans are the pest for them, basically.
Yea never met another aussie that doesn't love the chlamydia ridden bastards. Maybe he though possums?

The radio alien hoax wasn’t really a hoax. If I remember correctly, the radio was playing a story about aliens invading earth. I don’t remember story’s name but, apparently people who were listening to the radio freaked out, and thought they were being invaded by aliens.
Yea! Some people heard the beginning of the broadcast and understood they were listening to a story and hundreds of thousands of others tuned in mid terrifying, gory scenes told with passion as if it were actually real happening in real time, now that’s art!😂🤣
Yeah, it was a radio play that was written like a newscast. The issue came from people tuning in after that had been explained, not knowing it was a play, and freaking the fuck out
@@archer4424 yeah that’s it. Thanks for that. My English teacher when I was a junior; showed me the story.
War Of The Worlds
@@archer4424 The thing is, that didn't happen. That is the hoax.
People back then absolutely knew about radio dramas, and considering the radio play had most of the earth annihilated within days, it would be pretty damn obvious as soon as you looked outside. Especially since a newscast wouldn't even be airing, an emergency signal would.
as a ginger, sperm banks don’t even allow us to donate to them anymore due to lack of demand lol. also, about the extinction, i remember seeing in some magazines as a child as early as 2050. it really messed with my head tbh lmao.
Out of all the atrocities that happened in the production of the Wizard of Oz the mistreatment of people with dwarfism actually isn’t one of them, in fact they were treated really well! Interviewed little people said it was the first time they met someone else with dwarfism and gave them a community of people like them, as well as having the non dwarf people treat them well, no different than any one else. It’s actually one of the only heartwarming parts about the production.
watching this brought back memories, like i remember fully believing that alexandria's gensis was real! 💀💀💀 i didn't learn that it was a hoax until a few years ago. good times~
Legit I never heard of it before
Another great video! Keep up the awesome work!

Hey! Some corrections and additional info!
Alexandria's genesis actually dates back all the way to the 90's and was just a storyline creation within a (hold onto your hats) MTV's Daria fanfiction. I'm not kidding. Izzzyzzz has a great video on this whole bonkers story!
The photo in the Google document you saw was probably just the uncropped photo. You see, it's a sculpture made by a Japanese artist a few years before the Momo hoax began. It's a humanoid bird creature with dangling breasts, and it's based on a folk tale creature. Some random person just saw a pic of the sculpture, cropped it at the neck, and created a fake story to cause moral panic for fun. While the sculpture (actually called Mother Bird and not Momo at all) is uncanny looking, it's actually quite a unique and visually interesting piece of art. It has a sad ending though, because the artist ended up destroying the artwork due to the grief brought by the hoax.
Mother Bird wasnt destroyed by Keisuke, it just began to rot away due to the materials it was made from, and he had to toss it. He said while he liked that Mother Bird was getting recognition, he didnt like that it was being used to scare children
I'm 30 seconds in, and I'm beginning to prepare myself for another troll at the end of the video. I will not be caught off guard this time

I was around 18 in 2012, and maybe it’s just the cynical, sarcastic people I used to hang out with, but everyone was just meme-ing about it. Especially on tumblr (I wasn’t on twitter then but I’m sure they were too). I personally didn’t know even one person that took the whole “world is ending” thing seriously. 😂
The crop circles one reminds me of a story I saw on Reddit(Which increases the likelihood that this story is fake but I thought it was funny enough to share) where a farmer had some high schoolers ask him if they could use his field to film a short film about aliens for a school project and if they could flatten some of his crops to make some crop circles. He agreed to it since he was a nice guy and someone flying a drone that had no idea some kids were making a short film saw the crop circles and proceeded to tell the local newspaper. The farmer had to actively go out and say "No! The crop circles aren't real!" and no one believed him until the teens posted the short film on the community's Facebook group.
Congratulations on being alive, guys! Keep up the good work. See you in the next video 😘

I think the celebrity death hoax I most remember was that people in my secondary school for some reason though that the guy who played Mister Maker committed Hara Kiri (apologies for the weird wording but UA-cam would flag the comment otherwise). My best guess as to how this theory happened was that they probably mistook him for the guy from Art Attack who tragically did, but Mister Maker is still alive, along with his singing shapes.

With the Balloon Boy incident, I heard that it was planned out by the parents. They were being interviewed by a network in which when asked a question, the child said that the parents made it all up just to be on TV. I am saying "I heard" because of some words that came around and I'm unsure if this is true so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Spreading misinformation is the last thing I'd want to do
It wasen't planned, but the police tricked their son into saying it was so that they could be arested.
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened. I remember when it happened and that it was a hoax made by the parents.
I heard that too, but some comments on this video say that the boy was made by the news people or whatever to say that, so I’m not sure if the parents actually made it up or if they did genuinely believe that their kid was in the balloon and didn’t know that he was just hiding.
Yeah not true - in short the parents released the balloon, shortly after couldn’t find their child. Looked all over, had to call the police bc they assumed he was in it. Once they realized he wasn’t the police grilled their child and told the family the wife could be deported. They had to plead guilty and forced the child to say it. It’s super dark
@@yeetusfeetus7877 as the child got older he said he was forced to say that by the police and that he was just hanging out in the attic and had no clue they were looking for him. The parents were also forced to plead guilty or the mom would be deported. It’s messed up :/
I got a Wendy’s ad right after the Wendy’s chili finger story.
I never got how people were able to think that kid was in the balloon to begin with, like, I remember seeing that news coverage as it was going on, and I can't imagine how any kid could even fit in the balloon that size and still be able to lift off from the ground. 👀
Ya it was clearly bullshitt. People r sostupid
Think of the parent’s perspective here: you release the balloon and shortly after realize you cannot find your young child. They searched all over, so they eventually assumed he was in it and had to call the police. It’s not even a hoax, it was a lost child and with context makes complete sense
21:00 is worth the whole video.
