- Enjoy this chit chat convo with me as I budget and pay off debt for the month of January. I’m so excited for the new year and what it will bring. Unfortunately I have more home repairs to prepare for but for quarter one I’ll be adding more to my emergency fund and focusing on pay off my student loan!

I have finally reach the point in my debt free journey that I only have my mortgage left to payoff and can relate to you when you say move in silence, I’m moving in silence on this part of my journey. When I tell it, the mortgage will be paid off!!! My accountability partner knows where I’m at, but she will only get quarterly updates instead of monthly.

I paid off my student loan on a Monday.... celebrated having only mortgage debt for a few days until it started raining in my dining room on Friday. Now more debt for a new roof. I feel your pain about the burst pipe! Your kids will remember that you didn't run away from the problem and will do the same in tough situations!

@@DyanaMariie the first roofing company gave me a $20k estimate and I cried for an hour. I had three other companies come out with quotes around $10-$12k. I hate debt but I think it's penny wise and pound foolish to wait until more leaks pop up before replacing it, since it will only get worse. It's like... what's next? I think homeowners need a support group to vent about the anxiety when things go haywire lol.

I’m now down to three debts outside of my student loans, and those three will be paid off this year. Keep pushing, sis!! Girl you’re a trooper for the home repairs. I remember the freeze in 2021, we were out of electricity for 9 days with a 2 month old. Anyways wishing you the best and hope this is the last home repair for a while.

As far as real numbers go, some have shared select numbers, such as YT or side hustles and not the W2, select line items/goals, percentages, or mock scenarios that’s similar to their experience so folks get an understanding.
But yes, keeping the most sensible things to yourself is key and you can always tell us how things went once you hit your goals and they are in fruition rather than how they are in the present.
I'd NOT do any house updates before paying off all credit card debts at least, especially since you intend to buy/rent it anyway.
Home updates for you to enjoy, obviously it's not a 1 to 1 returns of investment. Good luck!

I personally appreciated you sharing your income. For me its inspiring to listen to women talk about personal finances the ups and downs. Its realistic and your voice feels productive (even when you spend money you didnt plan to😅) but i also respect and support your privacy. Take your time. God bless you 🙏🏾 ❤. Your peace is everything. I think you should keep your earned income to yourself. You can do it like budget treasures does. She doesn’t state amounts for her mortgage and tithes and instead just states what’s left so we have no idea what she’s making and no one cares 😂😂
